"Yes! It's the last day of school- at long last!" Artemis threw her hands in the air as she walked next to her friends Dick and Babs. She had a slight limp, left over from her mission to Helsinki, but she had told everyone that she had twisted her knee when she was running.
"I didn't know you were so happy for the end of school," Dick joked. All three had been impatient for school's end, just so they could spend more time breaking apart the gangs ravaging Eurasia. It was only a matter of time before they spread to America.
"Of course I'm this happy! We're leaving on our trip to Turkey tomorrow, remember?" Artemis looked at Dick, an eyebrow raised.
"I'm just happy my dad's letting me go. I mean, what choice does he have, but I'm still glad he gave me permission," Babs looked around, seeing the looks people were giving them. Bette was looking jealous, Darren King a little bit incredulous, and the bullies upset. They wouldn't have their favorite 'victims' but then again, the three of them had started to kick the butts of whoever bullied them, watching each other's backs.
"Well, we're gonna be so whelming over there it won't even be funny," Artemis replied, smirking.
"First we've gotta see Wally, and lord the fact that Kal let us on the trip to Turkey while he couldn't go on his trip to Russia with Max. I mean, researching Russian culture? That was a completely lame excuse for eating Russian food," Dick said, gesturing wildly. For the last day of school Gotham Academy relaxed its strict dress code and allowed the students to wear non-uniform outfits. Regardless, most came in suits and cocktail dresses, but a few- like Dick, Artemis, and Babs-wore regular clothes. Dick's hair hung almost in his eyes, his hands in the pockets of his The Offspring hoodie. Artemis wasn't wearing her jacket, just a grey t-shirt and stressed bootcut jeans, while Babs was wearing a pair of cargo jeans, a camouflage shirt, and combat boots. They earned stares.
Sorry it's so short and you had to wait so long. I'll upload another chapter today to make up for it, but my muse has been musing for one-shots and Warriors, so yeah...
