[Izaya's POV]
Izaya, Namie and Shizuo all trekked towards his assistant's home, eyes wandering around them warily as they drew closer. They were now in a more suburban area of Tokyo, actual homes around them instead of the usual tall towers of apartments. Everything seemed a bit more quaint than they were used to, more safe in general, but they couldn't stop double checking to make sure.
After a few more moments they were finally on the front step of Namie's home, the brunette opening the door for them and allowing Shizuo to shove his way inside first, taking a look around for them before either wandered in a couple paces behind him. Everything seemed just fine for now, nothing out of the ordinary. Izaya spun around for a second to look through the door, glancing across the street and at the surrounding area to see if there was anything odd. When he deemed it okay, he went inside and shut the door behind him, following Namie to a back room with her computer in it.
"Sorry it's not really high-tech. I haven't had to use this thing very much in a long time." Namie noted, leaning against the wall by the door as Shizuo stood on the outside of it, still watching over them. From her tone it was obvious that she only spoke to break the silence for a moment.
"It doesn't matter, anything will work really.." he muttered back, turning it on and getting himself situated before finally being able to start the search. He went to his address first then searched through every name of the residents that occupied the building opposite his own, cross searching them with anything that could be suspicious; purchase of weapons, ammo, certain 'toys' since the one thrown at them had been rubber... He continued on with the search for what felt like eternity, frustration building as nothing he searched the names with sent off an alarm.
There was nothing. No suspicious persons, no one with a bad history, no one that had only recently moved in, and no one that even seemed to have an incentive for what had occurred.
But there can't be nothing.. I must have skipped over something.
Izaya ignored the looks he got from the other two as he began typing faster, searching through his results again more thoroughly and biting his lip when there was still nothing the second time around. "Flea, have you found anything yet?" Shizuo asked from the doorway, glancing back at him and away from his task finally to check on him. The informant didn't want to be the bearer of secondary bad news; they'd already been let down by the fingerprints, they didn't need a repeat.
But I don't understand... We were attacked, threatened, by someone who lives just across the street. How could there be absolutely nothing?
The informant laid his face in his hands for a moment as he thought, trying to find something else to search that could possibly help. For a few moments his mind was blank. He'd searched everything he usually did, along with a couple others things that he usually didn't bother with; mental diseases/issues, school records, recent injuries...
Finally it hit him.
He ignored the glances he got from Namie and Shizuo as he began typing again, going into the Dollars website and hacking into it, not enough to set off a firewall but deep enough that he could track IP addresses that had visited the main page and gotten passed it. He had no idea why he didn't think of this earlier. Sure, most of the people in the Dollars were just those who wanted a title behind them for protection, for status among their peers, but every once in a while an actual threat could get in, hiding away among the crowd of innocents.
And he'd just found him.
"I got him." he finally announced, printer running off the sheet of information there was on the boy as he spoke. The other two glanced at each other.
"Just like that? You looked like your world ended just a minute ago." Namie noted, brow raised as she watched the informant nonchalantly switch off her computer and put the now-folded information into an inner pocket of his jacket.
"Well, it wasn't and isn't, so let's get back to Shinra's before anyone we left behind has a heart attack." Izaya replied, standing and walking out passed Shizuo, only to be pulled back again as the blond took point. I have to say, I'm impressed.. Really freakin' annoyed that he's pushing me around, but impressed. Izaya thought to himself as he rolled his eyes, following behind the bodyguard and glancing at Namie to make sure she was following.
In no time they were already safely away from the property, all giving a sigh of relief except for Izaya. The informant seemed to be calm as a cucumber now that he had the information needed to get whoever had attacked them, not even worried enough to glance over his shoulder anymore. His assistant and nemesis quickly took notice as they got onto a train to head back.
"Why are you so casual now? When we first got there you looked like an amateur spy!" Namie announced, glancing at him with a slight glare, probably ticked off that her employer was once again having odd moods. Shizuo glared at him as well.
"Flea, just because you know who did it doesn't mean we're not in danger anymore. There could be a whole gang of-"
"I highly doubt that, Shizu-chan." Izaya interrupted, taking out his cellphone and sending a text to Kasuka saying that they would be back at the apartment soon. When he glanced up again Shizuo looked murderous, 'patiently' waiting for an explanation from him as he gripped and completely mangled the hanging stabilizer in the train car. Izaya couldn't help but smirk. "Despite how badly he scared us, there isn't any danger. The kid's just some pathetic freshman from our old facility~"
Chapter 91!
Dun-dun-duuun!
Not..
Anyways, sorry again for the delay but I just haven't been able to focus on anything for about the last week.
My school is having a new kind of testing going on, and it's gonna take up all of my next week as well.
I think the test was just frying my brain but it still kinda is, and if I don't get as many chapters out this week as usual then I sincerely apologize.
What do you guys think of all that sudden panic being caused by a little freshman? I think it's hilarious, but we'll have to wait and see if it really will be.
Drop me a review, anyone, seriously. I need some serious inspiration right now...
I hope you all liked this chapter! Favorite, follow and review to see more!
