"Toothless, NO!" The young man shouted as he saw his dragon and best friend about to be impaled on a spear from the invading tribe and was on his feet, racing towards the night as fast as he could. As he ran toward Toothless but was cut off before he could reach the night fury and gasped in pain as he felt something sharp enter his stomach then out through his back, not realizing he screamed as well.
The last things he heard were his father shouting his name and Toothless roaring in pain as said dragon was impaled by the spear. Unknown to either tribe a woman, with flowers sprouting around her feet, was watching, having chosen Hiccup the moment he was born and she stepped toward Hiccup the minute he hit his knees. She lowered her hand to him as he raised his eyes to meet her own.
"It's time to come with me my son." She whispered, her voice sounding like a gentle breeze blowing through trees. Hiccup raised his hand to take a hold of her's and she pulled him to his feet before they walked over Toothless. The woman placed a hand on toothless's head, which caused the dragon to blink as he gazed at her and Hiccup.
"Let's go bud, Mother Nature has given us a second chance as the spirits of of autumn." Hiccup answered the unspoken question and both human and dragon left Berk as their tribe mourned their deaths.
Merida screamed as the rock fell towards her, knowing she wouldn't be able to make it out of the way in time due to her injured ankle. The day had started out wonderful but it started turning bad around after she had the noon meal with her family. Her mother had let her free from lessons the rest of the day and she eagerly raced outside, after grabbing her bow and arrows, leapt onto her horse, Angus, and rode off for the forest surrounding their land.
It had been a year since she had changed her mother into a bear, some things had changed since then and the Scottish Princess had more freedom then before and she. Unknown to her Mother Nature had gotten the wisps to help her as she knew it was Merida's time. As soon as Angus entered the forest the wisps led the mboth on until they were completely lost then left.
"Where are we Ang,ahhhhhh." Merida started but ended with a scream as the horse fell off a unseen cliff. Upon hitting the bottom, Merida was thrown to the ground a foot from where Angus landed. She quickly jerked her head up and crawled over to the horse only to burst into sobs once she realized he was dead. "Oh Angus, I'm so sorry." She cried as she clung to his mane, tears soaking into it.
Mother Nature called Angus to her side but remained as she waited for Merida to join them, as the rock slide they started when they fell rained down on Merida, completely covering her body. "Merida, come forth my child. Angus and I are waiting for you." Mother Nature called out and Merida rose from the rock pile to make her way over to her horse and Mother Nature, where she latched onto Angus's neck.
"I am ready to go with you Mother." She spoke up after she shed a few tears of gratitude of having Angus with her. The three of them turn and vanish into the on-coming mist. So, what season am to be in charge of?" Merida asked. Mother Nature chuckled before she answered,
"You will be in charge of summer and you have an older brother who is in charge of autumn. His name is Hiccup-dragon friend, you shall see why he's called that once we get to the seasonal sanctuary."
Mother Nature hurried to the tower where her second chosen daughter was being hidden, having heard that she had been tortured and killed before it was her time to die. "Damn Chaos taking control of Fate, I will have to talk to MiM about breaking his control over her." She muttered as she stepped into the tower.
"Mother Nature, glad to see you. You do not need to worry, I mae sure your youngest chosen daughter knows it is not her time yet and sent her spirit back into her body." Death told her before Mother Nature could say a word.
"Thank you Death, would you be willing to join me in paying a visit to MiM about breaking Chaos's hold over Fate so this does not happen again." Death agreed and they leave for Rapunzel to be found by the one she was destined to marry. It isn't until years later when Mother is by Rapunzel's bed-side as she takes her last breath, the princess having lived her life to old age.
She gently laid a hand on her own and helped her to stand, Rapunzel's youth returned to her as well as her blonde hair, though it's not as long as it was before, only falling to her waist. "Am I to join you for real this time?" Rapunzel questioned as she raised her head to meet Mother Nature's gaze.
"Yes my daughter, it is for real this time. Now how would you like to meet your older brother and sister?" "I would love to." Rapunzel exclaimed as she skipped along behind Mother Nature, the two of them passing out of sight into mist.
Jack looked up, at the sound of screaming, in time to see two streaks, one red the other brown, fly past him and into the Easter Guardian, knocking him down and was pinned to the ground. "How dare you attack him for doing his job." Merida snarled as Hiccup pressed a dagger to his throat. While that was going on Rapunzel settled next to Jack, a small and gentle smile on her face as she checked over his wounds as she gathered hair iner hands to lay on the wounds.
without a word to him she started to sing and her hair started to glow, to Jack's amazement. "Why are you defending that bloody winter spirit?" The Easter Guardian snapped. "He causes nothing but trouble for all other spirits." His words had the dagger pressing deeper against his neck.
"He doesn't trouble to you and others, he is just doing what he was made to do and he's not some random winter spirit he is the Spirit of Winter, my... our youngest sibling." Hiccup sneered. "We will do whatever we have to, to protect him, even if it means killing other spirits. Jack is only a few years old and your MiM haven't told him anything besides his name after he was born from his pond."
Merida drew an arrow and knocked onto her bow, aiming it at The Easter Guardian. "Did you even bother to really taking a good look at him Bunny?" She continued and gestured toward where Rapunzel was still healing Jack and Hiccup shifted aside so, the now named Bunny, could get a glance at them both. Bunny cringed, his ears drooping, as he noticed the blood on the snow around Jack for the first time.
"What happened?" He whispered, guilt in his voice. The dagger was withdrawn and bow lowered, arrow put away, as the two spirits felt he would no longer attack Jack.
"It was the Spirit of Halloween, he didn't like the fact that I was freezing over my pond and had attacked me. Due to the attack I had lost control of my powers which resulted in the blizzard that is now covering half of the states even though they are in the middle of Spring right now." Jack explained as he stood and joined the other three spirits.
"I see." Bunny muttered as he climbed to his feet, silently vowing to pay the Halloween Spirit a visit for causing Jack to mess up his Holiday. Without another word, he tapped the ground and jumped down the hole that had opened up.
"Well then... Thank you for helping me but, um... who exactly are you?" Jack said as he turned to face the other three seasonals. Hiccup was about to speak up when a new voice answered for him.
"They are your siblings Jack, Hiccup Dragonfriend, Merida Firearrow and Rapunzel Sunblossom." The two girls squealed in joy as the speaker came into view and raced to hug her while Hiccup, much more calmly, followed them.
" Hello Mother, it's good to see you again." He smiled as she pulled him into the hug with his sisters. All of them turned to look at Jack and Mother Nature held out a arm to him, inviting him to join them in the hug. Hesitant at first, he accepted her offer and joined them, finding he liked the feeling of their hugs.
