Holly walked outside holding her son's hat and approached him after she made sure her daughter was alright. "Jamie, hat. You don't want Jack Frost nipping at your nose." She said as she placed the hat on his head.

"Who's Jack Frost?" Jamie asked her and she held back a winch, knowing she would have to lie to her oldest. "No one honey, it's just a expression." She answered while thinking, 'I'm sorry Jack.'

After she had gone back inside, Holly made her way to her room where she opened the window and waited for Jack to come to her. As she waited she sat on her bed and was soon lost in her memories of her own childhood, how she was separated from her family, when North found her and, after being unable to locate them, had raised her as his daughter.

The three year old sat huddled on the snow covered ground, alone but completely at ease playing in the snow, when she felt a pair of strong arms pick her up. She lifted her face to see who held her and the sight of concerned blue eyes met her brown ones.

"What are you doing out here by yourself little one?" The man who held her asked but only got a blink in response. "Where is your family?" He tried again but, again, got no answer but the girl smiled instead before she snuggled up to him and promptly fell asleep in his arms.

She knows how he found her because he told her the truth when she was ten years of age and she was grateful he decided to raise her because she later found out what had happened to her parents the night he found her. It had been a robbery gone wrong and her parents had been murdered.

She had been lucky because she had crawled out of her crib, out the small cat door without her parents noticing and went through the fence, where one of the boards was loose, and was soon playing in the neighbor's yard, hidden from view from the three men who forced their way into her family's home.

The only way she remembered leaving the house was because Tooth showed Holly her memories upon Holly's request when she had turned twelve. Holly smiled fondly as she remembered the first time she met Tooth. It had been the day of Christmas Eve when she lost her first baby tooth.

Holly, now eight years old, shrieked in laughter as she skidded around the corner just as a snowball flew past her followed by her favorite playmate, Jack Frost. "Missed me Jack." She giggled before she darted away.

As she was turning, one of the yeti's came around one of the other corners which caused Holly to run right into him and fwll to the floor with a cry as one of her teeth popped out. Both Jack and the yeti were by her side in an instant as she broke into tears.

The yeti, being the closet, gently picked Holly up and calmed her tears while Jack picked up her baby tooth with a smile. "Looks like the Tooth Fairy will be visiting you tonight." His words got a small smile from her.

Later, as North tucked Holly in, she proudly placed her tooth under her pillow as Jack had told her to do. "Night my daughter, may Sandy bring you sweet dreams." He told her as he left her room.

"Night Papa." Holly answered through a yawn as she snuggled down under her blankets. It was barely an hour later that she was woken up by the sound of two voices bickering outside her door and one of them sounded like a woman.

"You just can't take a child from their home North, it's considered kidnapping!" The woman exclaimed.

"What vas I to do, let her enter home and find her parents lying dead in their own blood. It would scar Holly for life if I did and I erased all memory of her ever living there so you no need to worry". North replied as her door was opened.

"That's not...oh, hello little one. I heard you lost your first tooth today." The woman stated as she fluttered into the room.

"Are you the Tooth Fairy?" Holly asked.

"I am and you must be Holly, you may call me Tooth. May I see the tooth you lost?" The woman answered as she smiled at Holly, who eagerly retrieved the tooth from under her pillow and handed it to Tooth.

Tooth took it from her with a smile then looked it over, "I see you took very good care of your teeth, good job and here is a coin for you in exchange for your tooth." She placed a quarter into Holly's hand.

"Thank you Miss Tooth Fairy!" Holly exclaimed as she hugged Tooth before she crawled back under the covers and fell asleep.

"You're doing a wonderful job raising her North. She's a sweety." Tooth told her fellow Guardian on her way out. North thanked her as he showed her out.

She was so lost in the memory that she didn't realize Jack was in the room until he spoke up. "I'm just a figure of speech am I, Holly. That hurt when you told Jamie that."

Holly jumped in surprise when he spoke and jerked her body towards him. "I'm sorry Jack but you know that I have been forbidden from talking about you from the others. You have to figure out how to get children to believe in you on your own." She sighed as she wrapped him in a hug.

Jack returned the hug as he nodded, "I do know... but it's really hard." He muttered and pulled back. "Jamie should be home any minute, I... uh... may have caused him to loose a tooth." He admitted sheepishly.

She was about to scold him when the sound of the front door closing alerted them that Jamie was home. "I'll talk to you later about this, after my kids are in bed." She growled before she went to welcome her son home.

Jack cringed as she left the room and flew out through the window to rest on the house's roof until later. Once her children were asleep, Holly returned to her room, making sure the door was closed tight behind her, before she turned to face the, still open, window.

Jack silently slipped in through the window, a sheepish look on his face as he faced Holly. "I guess, since Jamie wasn't hurt, I could let this one slid Jack but you better make sure it doesn't happen again." She mockingly scolded with a grin.

"Reminds me of the first time you lost a tooth, except it was a yeti instead of a couch." Jack smiled and Holly laughed.

"I do, it's what I was thinking about before you showed up earlier." She replied, with a chuckle as she sat on her bed and patted a spot beside her. "How are the others? My father still keeping himself busy?" She wanted to know as Jack settled beside her.

"North is as busy as ever with Christmas, Bunny is the same with Easter, Tooth doesn't go out of Tooth Palace any more and Sandy is always on the move with his dreamsand. There is something else, keep an eye on your kids. I've been seeing black horses more and more lately but every time I tried to get a closer look they would vanish in the shadows, like the stories North would tell you as a child about Pitch."

"Pitch, do you think he's back? I though Father and the other Guardians defeat him for good last time they fought him."

"They thought the same thing but it appears he's returned and has gained his strength back." Jack shrugged. "Sandy will be here soon so I should go, he won't be happy with me if I keep you up."

"Alright, don't be a stranger uncle Jack." Holly told him as they both stood up and she gave him a quick hug, which he returned, before he flew out the window and she closed it behind him then got ready for bed.

It was four days later that Holly learned about the battle with Pitch from Jamie as soon as he woke up and raced down the stairs, excited. "Mom, guess what!" He exclaimed as he sat at the table.

"Hmm, you talked to Jack Frost?" She answered, playing along.

"Yes, how did you know."

"You told me yourself, remember. It was last night when I asked you who you were talking to and your answer was..."

"Jack Frost." Jamie replied sheepishly, "I remember now... but that's not all. I helped him, Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman and the Tooth Fairy beat Pitch." continued, over his embarrassment.

"You fought against Pitch and won, how?" She questioned as she fell into a chair in shock, causing Jamie to become suspcious at her words.

"Is there something your not telling me mom?" He asked as he stared intently at her.

Holly blinked, "What do you mean Jamie?"

"You act like you know about Pitch." He answered.

She sighed, knowing she was caught, and moved to pull Jamie onto her lap. "It's because I do and now that you have met them I can tell you the truth. I was raised by Santa Clause, he found me as a toddler and took me to his home where he made me his child.

My birth parents were murdered during a robbery one Christmas eve but I had managed to crawl outside and to the neighbor's yard while that was going on, which is where he found me, playing in the snow."

"Sooo... does that make Santa Clause my grandfather?"

Holly chuckled at his words and pulled him into a hug, "It does though you can call him Grandpa North. Tooth was like my mother so she would be your grandmother but better not call her that or she may get upset, Bunny, Sandy and Jack were like older brothers so they would be your uncles.

You also have, at least, a thousand aunts, all of Tooth's mini fairies. Now tell me about this battle you helped win." Jamie grinned up at her and did as asked, regaling her with the battle of belief.
