[Izaya's POV]
It had only been twenty minutes now since Izaya coerced his rival into another chase through the city, the two trailing dust and partial destruction behind them as they ran down streets and alleys alike, and already the two were getting close to Russia Sushi. Shizuo was still grabbing anything they passed as ammunition and Izaya was still keeping a careful eye on just where they were, taking side-streets and random openings through the occasional building as they went, even when he realized their chase would need to end very soon.
If his sisters saw him with Shizuo again then they would definetly never shut up about them being friends, or at least good acquaintances, and if they saw him fighting with the other then the two would probably go into over-protective mode, which was never a good thing.
Before the siblings were separated, Mairu and Kururi were known for trying to take care of Izaya in their own special way. Ya know, in return for him being their main caretaker.. But that 'special way' had mostly consisted of humiliating the person they held responsible until they were driven away, or by staging something in public so that the person would be in huge trouble. And their way worked, definitely. In fact, one man was still being held in jail for supposedly trying to kidnap Mairu; when in reality, the girl had tricked him into picking her up before beginning to cry and scream, yelling for someone to help her until police came and took him away.
That said, as fun as it would be for Shizuo to get blamed for something illegal - again~ - Izaya knew his boyfriend wouldn't be too happy to hear that his sisters had gotten the debt collector locked up for something that had become a social norm around here. It also wouldn't be fair, honestly, since Izaya was the one who selfishly started this chase of theirs. So, being the better man, Izaya began to shake off his predator before they got too close, even going to the extent of back-tracking a street or two until Shizuo finally wasn't in sight of him.
The informant cast glances behind himself for another moment just to make sure Shizuo wasn't catching up before slowing his pace again, stopping in an alley to catch his breath and straighten himself out a little bit so his sisters wouldn't be too suspicious. And after making sure he didn't look like he'd just ran a marathon, he continued down the street and finally made it to Russia Sushi.
"Sorry I'm late!" Izaya called, smiling lightly as he watched Kururi turn around to wave at him with a blank face, while Mairu crossed her arms where she stood.
"You better be sorry! You told us to meet you here like twenty minutes ago!" the louder of the two exclaimed, throwing her arms up again as she attempted to glare at him. Attempted meaning, she wasn't threatening to him in the least. How was he supposed to feel upset with himself when there was a girl in a cat hoodie pouting at him? Not to mention Kururi was standing next to her in one that matched, though in a different color, doing the same thing to back her up. It was too cute to be intimidated by, even knowing his sisters' real strength.
"Awful Izaya-nii.." Kururi noted beside her, arms uncrossing as Izaya drifted closer and opened his own arms for a hug from them both. Kururi accepted the hug instantly and only showed her, assumed, frustration with him by pinching him in the side before Mairu literally jumped into the hug, almost completely sliding passed the other in order to wrap her arms and legs around the elder's torso tightly. The informant tried his best to just stay upright and not draw too much attention to them while he was at it, still smiling even as he tried to pry his sibling off of himself.
"Yeah, but I still missed you guys. So, is there anything you both wanted to do today or is it all up to me?" Izaya finally asked, planting Mairu firmly on the ground before looking to Kururi, who was amused by her sister's excitement. The calmer of the two just thought for a moment before shaking her head and looking to Mairu, who was already bouncing from foot to foot as she grinned brightly. She had that look in her eyes, the one that Izaya and Kururi knew so well that told them she already had "everything under control" - meaning, she knew what she wanted and she was going to ask just about anyone anything to get it. Which also meant, Izaya was really at her and Kururi's mercy for the day... Again. Fun.
And to start her day of the tyranny, Mairu took Kururi's hand and looked up at Izaya with that same smile, it growing just a bit wider as she pointed inside of Russia Sushi. "First things first, that big guy in there said he was friends with you. So! We're gonna have brunch there and you can introduce him to us before we go do stuff~" the twin demanded, stance proud as Izaya just nodded dutifully and followed the two girls inside with a wave to Simon. The sushi worker waved back and started his usual banter in broken Japanese, making the girls - Mairu - giggle lightly as they took a seat and started to look through the menu, Izaya casually sitting back in his own seat as he, of course, already had his order memorized.
The informant cast a glance at Simon again to catch his eye and the man mouthed to him in Russian, 'They're your family?' Izaya gave him a quick nod, glancing at his sisters to see Mairu and Kururi, both for once, drooling over a certain dish before continuing to look. Back to Simon. 'They're precious. I'll make an extra serving for them.' Simon mouthed again, making Izaya smile before the Russian had to turn back and talk with Dennis, getting back to work. Izaya relaxed as he waited to be called on again, perfectly fine with being silent for a while. His smile lingered as he let the fact that his sisters were with him again sink in. I guess, as far as the last three years have gone, this really isn't going to be the worst week of my life.
