[Izaya's POV]
"Alright, we're here. This place is pretty huge, so don't wander too far from me, okay?" was the first thing the black-haired informant announced as him and his sisters stopped in front of the towering self-preserving economy, known as Sunshine City.
He looked behind him at the two girls holding his hands, one standing on each side of him like they'd used to do when he walked them to school. Kururi just gave him a nod, a small smile on her face, while Mairu rolled her eyes and pouted, free hand moving to slap his arm. "You act like we're a couple of five years old! We can handle this place just fine." the twin announced, a confident smile on her face as she began to walk again, technically leading them inside. Izaya held in a chuckle.
"Says the girl who's holding her brother's hand like a line-leader in primary school."
"Sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my fingers breaking with every step!"
The two shared a playful glare with each other as Izaya released the younger twins' hand in order to ruffle her hair, the strands staying firmly in place due to her braid anyway. Without thinking about it, they both went back to holding hands, despite the teasing. The three of them wandered into Sunshine 60's underground plaza, all of them wearing a face of curiosity.
Mairu and Kururi, having been in the outlands for a while now, had probably never been in a building this tall, let alone a building this busy; and Izaya, for all of his adventurous nature, had only been in Sunshine City a total of three times, mostly for work and almost never staying long enough for him to get the full effect of it all.
The inside was an interesting sight; every inch of what they could see was filled with shops, restaurants, tons of people in clothes ranging from normal to cosplay to costume, elevators all over as well to take you to the other levels of the building. Everything was bright and shiny, almost too much so, like everything was either fluorescent or made out of the fucking sun itself, either one reflecting off of the mostly white atmosphere. The building hurt his eyes as he walked in and continued to be led by Mairu, who he suspected also couldn't see for the first few minutes while their eyes adjusted to the setting. Thankfully, in comparison to what he expected, the building was relatively quiet, making it much less of a headache to walk around in.
When he could see more clearly, he steered them off the left where there were souvenir shops, specialty shops and make-your-own/design-your-own kiosks for them look around in. "Either of you see anything you want? The whole day is on me, so don't worry about using your allowance or anything." Izaya finally spoke up, eyes drifting from the bright signs above each of the shops towards his sisters, who were both surprisingly tame for being around so many things and people. He had half expected for them to release his hands and run off once they got inside, excited about the new things to see and buy, but said animal-hoodie clad twins were both currently looking around like they were lost, even though they were still holding onto him tightly. To grab their attention, he gave both of their hands a squeeze. "Hey, you both alright?"
Kururi looked up and nodded first, nervously switching between her feet where she stood. "Too much..." she muttered softly, her voice almost being lost even amongst the barely room-level chatter around them. Mairu turned to look at him after a second squeeze, a bright smile on her face as she laughed and agreed with Kururi.
"Yeah, there's even more people in here than there were outside. Weird how that works.." the bespectacled twin announced, voice much more confident than Kururi's had been but still not as loud as usual. She was even holding onto him more tightly than before, his hand starting to twitch from the pressure.
The informant looked between them for a second and sighed as he noticed that neither of them were loosening up from admitting they were nervous, causing him to shake off both of their hands from his own before bapping them both on the back of the head. "If neither of you like crowds then why didn't you say something!? I would have taken in from a different entrance." Izaya huffed, looking between the two guilty faces before him.
"Well, it didn't seem like too many people were outside at the time! And normally, there are a lot less people inside any building than there would be outside because of space and stuff."
"Personal space..."
The ravenett rolled his eyes, holding in a sigh. "Yeah, your right about that, but this place is connected to a mall. An international mall. Pretty much anywhere around this place, at any time of day, is going to be packed full of people."
"We see that now."
"Don't sass me."
"But I'm the sassy one!"
"Sass master..."
"UGH, forget you both... C'mon, we're going up a level to find somewhere less crowded. Do you guys wanna visit the aquarium or Namjatown first?"
"Namjatown!" "Namja.."
"Alright then." The informant muttered, taking both of his sister by the hand once more as he walked down the corridor to the other side of the building, finding the escalator and stepping on in front of them. He cast a glance back, meeting two sets of still-guilty eyes. "Just because your both imbeciles doesn't mean I don't love you, ya know." he called behind him, turning to face ahead again as he fully accepted the pinches he got in return, smiles once again on both the girls' faces.
Chapter 111!
This is shit, I'm shit, I have no inspiration and have no reason as to why either, sorry about that.
I went back and fixed up the last couple chapters; it's not much but they seem a little better than before, at least.
I've tried to finish this for over a week now and could barely get out 2 sentences each time, which is why this is so late.
I got out an AU chapter for you guys on Dura Love a few days ago though, I hope you guys saw/see it and like it. I know I shouldn't have even started that one when I can't get out a chapter on the story you guys are waiting for, but it was the only thing I could get done. I didn't get IT done very well either, though. Sorry.
But, don't worry about this depressing extra bit, I'm not really sad or anything, I haven't been depressed in the last couple weeks either, I'm just a little upset with myself for not being able to get anything done in so long. I love this story like it's my child and I've quite literally been neglecting it, even if I don't want to. This chapter itself helps though, cause I love seeing Izaya and his sisters together. Sassy siblings.
I hope you still liked this chapter! Favorite, follow and review to see more! Sorry again for the delay!
