[Izaya's POV]
After spending a couple hours at Shinra's place; eating dinner, talking, cracking jokes and being jabbed in the side for them; Kasuka and Izaya decided to spend the night together, holding hands on the way to Izaya's house with content smiles and tired eyes, the food working it's magic and making them groggy already despite the chilly air around them. Everything on the walk home had been calm too, with not too many people being out and about despite the time of day, and also despite the Headless Rider being on the prowl once again.
When they got to Izaya's apartment the two glanced at each other before instantly walking up to the man's bedroom, only pausing long enough to the informant to grab his laptop on the way so they could watch Netflix if they wanted to. Neither of them were quite attentive enough to appreciate whatever they would pick, of course, but it was still nice to have around. And the both of them were totally quiet for the walk home and the trek upstairs, only talking once they were both stripped of their jackets and shirts, sliding under the covers of the ravenett's bed so that they could warm up more quickly.
"That was a really nice dinner." Kasuka muttered to him, face pressed into raven locks as his eyes slid half-shut. Izaya hummed in response.
"Yeah, it was. I never thought I'd enjoy such a loud dinner that much though."
"Me neither, but having you there definitely made it all the better."
"You act like Shinra and Celty weren't even there."
"When I looked at you, sometimes it felt that way~"
"Just like at the premiere?" Izaya asked him quietly, curling up more tightly into his boyfriend's chest as the other man tightened his hold, smiling into his hair. The informant had on a smile as well, just from remembering that amazing event, his first technical date with Kasuka that he'd ever had.
"Yes, just like the premiere~" Kasuka replied, chuckling lightly before they both let silence linger between them again, both of them probably being caught up in the memory of it.
It wasn't all that long ago since he'd started this fiasco; began cross-dressing, acting, deceiving the masses continuously. But it felt like at least a year had passed already. So much had happened, what with him regaining some memories, Dong-Yul irritating and betraying them, the entire ordeal with Shara, him getting sick and even making himself sicker. His sisters and mother had even returned to Tokyo, after years of being absent in his life, and now here he was, comfortably snuggled up to his boyfriend's side, enjoying a night with him and just loving that he was there with him. Everything… Everything just felt like so much more than a few months of his life. It wasn't even Christmas yet but so much had changed since this past summer… It really left him in awe, something he'd rarely felt.
Izaya felt a small nudge from his boyfriend and looked up. Kasuka was smiling down at him like he was the only thing that existed. "You looked like you were thinking too hard again." the actor muttered, making him smile all the more. Even without fully looking at him, Kasuka had been able to tell what was going on in his head.
"You have no idea how amazing you are, don't you?" Izaya replied, not immediately realizing that he had said that aloud. Kasuka's laugh made him notice, however.
"No, I really don't. But I do know that you are fabulous, and smart, and sweet, entirely unpredictable, and mine." the actor listed, squeezing him closer again despite the blush that spread across Izaya's face, causing a protest.
"If I'm entirely unpredictable, then how can you read me so well?" he said haughtily, trying his best to dispel the blush on his cheeks.
"Iza-chan, I've spent my entire life being around the most unpredictable man in the world. I have mastered the art of acting on what I least expect will happen." was all the actor said before rolling onto his back and dragging Izaya with him, releasing him only to stretch his arms in the air before returning to their prior position.
Izaya just let himself be moved, thinking his boyfriend was more comfortable than his own bed anyways. The informant chuckled lightly at nearly forgetting how the other man was related to his enemy. The two were so different, so totally and completely on different sides of his own spectrum that it had continued to slip his mind unless he had a reason to remember it. "I don't know how you could have survived that long living with him. Weren't you ever afraid that he'd lose control or something?" the ravenett asked, sliding his arms to wrap under Kasuka as well, while his eyes closed from the heat around him. Kasuka had pulled up the blanket a bit more to cover them both entirely.
"Of course I wasn't." Kasuka replied, in a tone that almost made it sound like the stupidest question in existence.
"Why not?"
"'Cause he's my brother and he loves me. And that means he'd never do anything to hurt me. He even told me himself." Izaya was quiet for a moment or so as he thought about that.
In his head, he just couldn't really imagine a younger Shizuo holding back about anything. Kids in general were very spontaneous and selfish, so adding Shizuo's strength to the equation… Well, anyone besides himself would and should obviously be petrified to have to grow up with someone like that.. Then again, they were brothers. They were family. And if his feelings towards his sisters say anything, then no matter who you are there's always a place for more control and precaution. Even for monsters, I suppose… Damnit Kasuka, quit making him seem more human than he is. No one should be able to lift a fucking bus and survive like he does, quit it.
Izaya, despite the distaste going on in his own thoughts, looked up to his boyfriend again and smiled in the darkness of the covers. "Whatever you say, Kasu-kun." was all he said, getting a chuckle in return before they shared a kiss, finally deciding to get caught up in each other instead of nothing or a movie.
Chapter 115! It's here!
Sorry for the gap between this chapter and the last, but this year I have Physics and it's KILLING me. It's the hardest class I have and I'm already a pretty lazy person, so I've been having to focus on it really hard to even keep a C.
And if I get anything below a C, sometimes even a C-, then I get the PC taken away. Which would mean even less updates…
SO! For that not to happen, I've been spending most of my time studying, and now I think I have a good enough grasp on it to maybe last another week or two with a high C/low B. Hopefully that will last, and in the meantime you have all of this fluff to read!
Also, if any of you have suggestions for the plot of this story, anything you would want to see in it really, then just lemme know in a review. I love to hear from you guys!
