Everyone in Paris remembers the fateful night of January 16, when the city was attacked by the most powerful and destructive akuma ever created. The assault, which lasted for hours, resulted in the death of 439 people. Marinette Dupain-Cheng was among the casualties.

Presumably dead, Ladybug has disappeared, leaving Chat Noir the sole hero of Paris for eleven years now. The fights are longer, the work is harder, and time drags on. After an akuma attack hospitalizes Marinette, he also discovers that she's been ill for many years now, and the doctors aren't hopeful. He couldn't do anything for Ladybug but surely he could do something for her...

Ladybug and Cat are attending Felix and Kagami's wedding when a disturbing video comes from Hawkmoth saying Paris is no more. Ladybug and Cat must travel through the mountains to track down Hawkmoth and take back the Miraculous before anymore damage is done. Ladybug feels like she keeps everything hidden from the world, but she wants someone she can share everything with. Then, when a contest featuring Adrien Agreste appears in a fashion magazine, Ladybug seizes her chance for a friend. Switching back and forth between POVs, rating may go up in future chapters.

After a fateful night in the garden, Marinette and Adrien are closer than ever before. But her heart is broken the next day when she realizes that he didn't know it was her.
