It's been a awhile, but I'm here and the story is here and we're all cool. Hopefully. This chapter has been brought to you by teenage hormones.
Disclaimer: Never have I ever owned.
It's been three days and Mitsukuni still hasn't answered any of my calls. When he had said he wouldn't bother me anymore, I hadn't expected him to ignore me completely. What did this mean? Was he breaking up with me? So many question were pointing to the worst and I didn't want to think about it. I decided to concentrate on the situation at hand. Apparently it was a girls day out and I was invited to come.
"So, Haruhi care to share in the details of your oh so romantic date with Tamaki?" Rin asked bluntly. Haruhi looked rather uncomfortable as she blushed at the question. It was obvious that something happened, but I was so worried about Mitsukuni I hadn't thought about asking Haruhi what went on between them. Now was a good as time as any to ask I suppose.
"What are you talking about?" She said with shifty eyes.
"Yeah Rin, what are you talking?" Ana asked with a wide grin. "I didn't hear anything about this."
"It's nothing." Haruhi said quickly. "She's talking about nothing, besides nothing happened anyway."
"That sounds like a lot of something to me." I added. Haruhi turned to me with a glare, I shrugged it off. "You two looked pretty happy from what I saw."
"We were...talking about some stuff." She said rubbing her arm, avoiding my eyes.
"Such as?" Stephanie piped in sitting back in her chair.
Her face became more red. Ana laughed clapping her hands. "Ooooh, he totally asked you out, right? Am I right? I'm totally right, aren't I?"
"Ana stop pestering her, it's obvious she doesn't want to talk about." Stephanie said raising her chin to her. She paused for a moment before grinning. "But did he?"
"Ahh! Yes, yes he did!" Haruhi yelled slamming her hands on the table. Her face was red and this was probably the most embarrassed I'd seen her ever.
I blinked in surprise. When I had given Tamaki the pep talk didn't actually expect him to ask her out. I must have more power than I realize, tough I can't say for sure it was actually me who influence him. "Wow, you...he did? That's great! What did you say?" I asked with jittery excitement.
"I said I need some time to think about it." She answered still not quite looking at the group of girls.
"Well, that wasn't a no." Rin said looking at us all with a hopeful smile.
"Oh finally, some progress, I've been shipping you guys since the dance last year." Ana said with a teasing smile.
"Shipping?" Haruhi aid with a raised brow.
"Yeah, even made up a name, TamaHaru" Ana said, leaning toward the burnette girl.
"That's kinda creepy." I mumbled.
"Oh relax, I got a name for you and your boy toy too?" She said grinning at me.
I blinked. "What?"
"Oh and speaking of, how's it going?" Rin said with a smirk. I narrowed my eyes at her, lousy traitor. I hadn't told anyone that Mituskuni was ignoring me.
I sighed. "We had a fight so there's noting to talk about."
"What?" They all said at once.
"Why didn't you say anything while we were there?" Haruhi asked.
"Yeah." Rin uttered with a frown.
"Well, you all were pre-occupied with other things, so I didn't want to bother you with my problems." I explained taking a sip from my strawberry milkshake. We were currently at an outdoor café, it was Rin's idea. The streets were filled with commotion and people walked by in the midst of there busy lives. However, it was all oddly comforting.
"Well, to my understanding it's very rare for you two to fight about anything. What happened?" Stephanie asked, pushing her hair over her shoulder.
"I don't know...I mean, we were talking about...something and I might have said something that he took the wrong way. So now he's mad at me." I said, looking up at the umbrella above our table.
"What exactly is the something your talking about?" Haruhi asked.
"Oh, oh I know! He asked you to marry him right?" Ana blurted.
My jaw dropped in surprise. "How did you know?"
"What? I was right?! Man, I am on a role today." She said patting herself on the shoulder.
"Wow, really?" Haruhi asked. "That's a rather serious question, Kris."
I rubbed a hand through my hair in frustration. "Yeah, I know. That's what I told him. I said I wasn't ready for that type of thing."
"And he got mad over that?" Rin asked with a furrowed brow.
I shook my head. "He told me he understood that and he was going to keep it to himself. A few things happened before hand and I think we were both feeling a bit of tension. Long story short, I told him he was too overwhelming to be around."
"Well that does seem like something that would hurt his feelings, but something tells me your telling us the whole truth." Haruhi said.
"I think I know what it is." Stephanie tilting her head at me as she crossed her legs. I furrowed my brow before I realized what she was talking about. I shook my head for her to stay quiet, but she had already started speaking. No one ever listens to me. "It's because you two had a 'special night', now you saying that you don't want to be around him makes him feel inferior."
"You hurt his male pride." Ana said in agreement.
"Wait, what special...Oh Kris you did the dirty and didn't tell me! What kind of friends are we!" Rin yelled pointing her finger at me. I covered my face as I blushed.
"Please stop." I mumbled.
"Guys stop embarrassing Kris in public." Haruhi scolded. I looked at her as if she was a knew found light. Oh Haruhi my savior."Let's stop talking about guys, drama and sex. We should do something besides sit here and complain."
"Oh look at you Haruhi being all interactive and stuff." Ana said. "Alright, alright let's go do something."
"I've always wanted to go to a Japanese karaoke place." I said, trying my best to change the subject.
"Well my dad took me to one once. He regret it soon after, I can't sing." Haruhi said. "We're on the best side of town for things like that. There's an open one just around the corner I think."
"Cool, I want people to here my sexy singing voice." Ana said with a proud expression.
"You mean the screech of a dying penguin." Stephanie retorted.
"Hey, listen you, that dying penguin voice belongs to an angel." She said proudly bringing her hand to her chest. Yeah, Ana wasn't exactly great at singing, but at least she admitted it. "So Haruhi, you and I can sing horribly together."
Said girl smiled at her. "Sure."
We walked across the street and I was about to turn the corner, but Stephnie pulled me back very abruptly. I felt like I had whiplash. I blinked in surprise. "What was that for?" I asked.
"Shhh." She said putting a finger against her lips.
"What is it?" Haruhi asked popping her head around the corner. She pulled back quickly. "Honey sempai is over there."
I raised my brow. "Then why are we hiding?" If he was over there, what reason would there be to hid? Unless..."What's he doing?"
Rin looked at well. "He's with some girl...looks like a date." She glanced back to me as I furrowed my brow. A what?
"What girl?" I asked.
"No way." Ana mumbled. "That's totally Reiko."
"Your host sister? Why would Reiko be with Mitsukuni?" I inched myself slightly from behind the brick wall to get a better look. It was in fact Mitsukuni and he was with a girl, Reiko. The strange woman that my sisters have been talking about. "Doesn't she go to the same university as Mitsukuni, maybe their talking about school work." I didn't just want to jump the gun and assume things that weren't true. However, my stomach was starting to sit funny on this situation.
"I doubt that they even take the same classes, she's studying the human body because she want's to be a mortician." Stephanie explained. "At least that's what she told me."
"Well there's no point in hiding here, we haven't done anything wrong. Let's just go talk to them." Haruhi reasoned, looking over at me. I nodded.
"Yeah, I'm sure everything is fine." I smiled, though I wasn't feeling like everything was fine. Maybe I was feeling uncomfortable because things like this haven't happened since he came on a regular to the host club, only this wasn't the host club. Regardless, I couldn't say anything for sure because I didn't know all the facts. I trusted Mitsukuni after all.
"Hey Honey!" Ana yelled. I winced with embarrassment. "What a coincidence to see you here with, Reiko? I didn't know you two knew each other."
Mitsukuni glanced at me before looking at Ana with smile. "Yes, we go to the same university and Rei-chan asked me come here. We actually became friends a little while back."
"You did..?" Haruhi asked.
"Yes, I fell and it was rather embarrassing and he offered to help me with my things. He was quite nice about it." Reiko said, giving the blond a smile. Mitsukuni returned to gesture. I almost narrowed my eyes at him. He didn't tell me he knew her...but it was none of my business anyway.
"So wait, she asked you out?" Rin questioned.
"Yes, Rei-chan has a lot of interesting things to talk about, don't you?" He said, though there seemed to be something behind his tone. My eyes widened when I saw the girl blush slightly. What exactly have they been talking about? My mind went blank and I wasn't sure what to think. I wouldn't call myself a particularly jealous person.
"Perhaps." She said rubbing her shoulder.
Mitsukuni giggled as if it was some kind of inside joke that no one else knew about.
"Ahh...is it alright if we sit with you guys?" Haruhi asked awkwardly. She was starting to feel the slight tension I was giving off.
Mitsukuni glanced to me slightly and I decided to ignore this and sit down next to Rin. I peered over at Reiko, she was small like my Aunt Mina, but no as short. She was pretty, I had to admit that. It was something I couldn't deny.
"So you all are out together?" Mitsukuni asked.
Haruhi nodded. "It's girls day, Rin suggested it."
She shrugged. "I just thought it would be nice for the girls to have a break from all the guys and stuff."
"I guess we can be overwhelming." Mitsukuni said with an innocent tone, but I knew what he meant. "Too much, right?" Oh I knew. I narrowed my eyes at my feet before I went to speak. However, I was interrupted.
"Yeah, but we can't really get away from them." Ana said as if it was a tragedy. "Kris, you remember that slightly cute guy that was hitting on you." My eyes widened at her words as if to say what are you doing? She grinned at me.
"He thought I was a man." I said bluntly.
She shrugged. "Yeah, and even after you told him you were a girl he was totally cool with it."
"Yeah but...slightly cute?" I said with a raised brow.
"He had a good body, a goody body indeed." She said with nod as if it was a revelation of the century.
"Alright, we're done here." I said shaking my head with a huff.
"I'm just saying-"
"Stop." I groaned.
"Fine, fine." Suddenly it was uncomfortably silent. I felt Mitsukuni looking at me and but I didn't return the stare. If he wants to ignore me for three days fine, but I felt like he was clearly trying to get under my skin.
"K-chan?"
Nope not going to answer.
"Can I talk to you for a second?"
Forget it.
"Please?"
"Of course she can." Stephanie answered before elbowing Haruhi in the side. She sweat-dropped.
"Uh, yeah...we'll keep Reiko company." She smiled at me as I gave her a look of betrayal. My friends and family are all traitors I reluctantly stood to my feet as I followed the blond into to the back of the café. I crossed my arms and leaned against the wall with a frown.
"K-chan I-"
"Oh so your talking to me now?" I said looking anywhere but at him.
"K-chan, look at me." He said. I didn't listen. "Krystal, listen to me." He never uses my name, much less my real one. I turned to him and I saw he was looking at me with an expression I couldn't describe.
"Yeah?" I said.
"What was Ana talking about?" He said.
"Nothing, it doesn't matter anyway." I scoffed. "Your the one laughing and giggling with Reiko."
"K-chan...are you...are you jealous?" He asked with wide eyes.
I blinked before blushing. "WHAT? N-No!" Well great, that didn't sound very truthful at all. "I'm just mad that you haven't called-stop smiling, I'm serious!" He walked toward me with a grin.
"You we're jealous." He stated with a new found excitement. Oh no.
"I'm telling you, no I wasn't, your just imagining things." I mumbled with red cheeks.
"Oh that's so cute." He said with a giggle.
"It is not! Beside I'm not jealous!"
"You keep saying that, K-chan. I think it makes you look adorable." He said. "Come here."
"No way." I muttered. "Not after you ignored me."
Mitsukuni shuffled his feet a bit. "Well I was giving you your space, you said I was a bother."
"No, I meant the situation. Not you." I said with a sigh. "And even if it was you, I'd never want you to ignore me. What makes you think that will help anything?"
"I guess I was a bit upset." He said with a childish pout.
"About what?" I asked. We'd already addressed the problem. What else could it be?
"I know I was moving really fast and I saw how you reacted, I was just afraid things between us would be different." He said.
"Mitsukuni, it's okay to be afraid, I'm afraid. I-I love you and I'm not going to leave because you want to get more serious. Infact I find that completely flattering, but that's just something that I'm not ready for. When you ignored me I felt ...bad, I should really stop doing that to people. Anyway, I just wanted to say that your important to me and I guess...I was kind of jealous-ONLY at little." I blushed and couldn't build up enough courage to look at him. I sounded like a cheesy romance movie.
"K-chan...come here~" He said with a flowery smile though there was something behind his look.
"No." I blurted with a red face.
"Then I'll come to you." He said with a grin. I shook my head backing towards the girls restroom, my only escape.
"No, your gonna try something dirty." I retorted, inching myself towards the exited.
Mitsukuni tilted his head innocently, holding his hands behind his back. "I just want a hug."
"There's never just a hug with you." I said.
"...and a kiss, touching very closely oh and -"
"No, this is a public place!" I said with a bewildered expression, though I was blushing.
"Will you do something for me if I tell you why I was with Rei-chan today?" He asked.
I raised my brow. "Isn't that private? It's not my place to know that."
Mitsukuni shook his head. "No, in fact I think it's something that you can help me with, K-chan."
"Me?" I asked. Now I was curious.
"You see that day we bumped into each other, we started talking and she found out that I was Takashi's cousin." He explained.
"But what does that have to do with anything?"
"She likes him."
"Really?" I asked in surprise.
"Yeah." He said with nod. "So she asked me to come here because she wanted to know more about him."
"Ohh." I said, trying to picture he two of them together. "I can see that."
He gave me a flowery smile. "Yes, me too that's why I wanted to help."
"So where do I fit in this? You know more about Mori than I do and I've never talked to Reiko a day in my life." I said with crossed arms. "You'd be better off talking to Ana or Stephanie about her. Though, I can't say they exactly like her either."
"Well, you can help me make a plan. How did are you doing in school, no summer classes?" He asked.
"No, thank Gandhi." I said. "I barely made it. I really need Mori to help me again."
"That's good! That's how we'll do it, you ask Takashi to help with summer homework and I'll ask Rei-chan if she wants to join our study group!" He said throwing his hand up with a giggle.
I blinked at the smaller blond. "Mitsukuni, your kind of a devious planner you know that right?" He turned me with a grin. "What?"
"You have to do me a favor now." He said as if it was obvious.
"What kind?" I said glancing towards the exit.
"Well you have to come closer for me to tell you, K-chan."
"I'm cool over here." I said leaning against the wall so witness would be able to see when I was attacked. Then again, I didn't want people to see that. I scooted over in so I was out of sight. "What is it?"
"I said you had to come closer~" He said with a teasing grin as if he just knew I was going to comply...I was. I leaned forward. "Closer, closer, closer..." He pulled my face down and somehow I was nervous. He always did something that would-
He peaked his lips against my cheek. I blinked. What?
"There, now lets go." He said turning to walk out. I shook my head before following him out. Was I pervert for expecting something more...I totally was! And I'm not going to tell you what I expected. We sat back down and Ana raised her brow at me.
"Why do you look like someone took Bubbles and killed her right in front of you?" They all turned to me and I fixed my expression.
"No...your just...never mind, so what are we talking about here?" I asked fiddling with the menu in front of me.
"We were actually talking about karaoke." Haruhi said.
"I was trying to convince Reiko that she, Haruhi and I would make an awesome trio at singing." Ana said, though I could tell she was joking.
"I suppose I didn't enjoy here that much." Stephanie mumbled.
"Hey! Don't you doubt my dream, with the power of auto-tune anything is possible." Ana said.
"That is true." Rin agreed before glancing between Mitsukuni and I as to ask if everything was fine now. I nodded with a shrug, she took that for a "yes".
"Wait are we seriously going to go sing at karaoke?" I asked looking over at Haruhi.
"Ana keeps talking about." She said with a sweat-drop.
"Well what do you guys say? Girls day out going to go out singing?" I asked.
"Sure." Haruhi said with a sigh.
"You don't have to be particularly good to do it so I will spectate." Stephanie said.
"Can I come too?" Mitsukuni asked.
Rin shrugged. "Sure, girls day plus one boy I suppose."
"Hikaru is going to be jealous that he didn't get to tag along." Ana said. "He get's mad over stupid stuff."
"Your one to talk." I mumbled. She ignore me and turned back to Rin.
"Oh no he won't, besides if he does he'll just have to get over it." The girl said lifting up her glasses.
"Well then." I said walking up beside Reiko. She glanced with an emotionless expression. I need to talk about Mori or something to get some life into her face, otherwise she was kind of scary. Though, Aunt Mina was the same in a way so I was use to it. We walked across the street and the establishment came into view. We walked inside and took a seat. It was a rather busy place if said so myself. I looked around and people were carrying on in their own conversation.
"You guys the mic is open who wants to go up there with me!" Ana said with an excited grin.
"I'm not going to embarrass myself by singing with you." Stephanie said. Ana glared at her before looking at Haruhi and Rin with hope. They looked away as if the girl didn't even say anything. Oh no. Ana set her gaze on me with the biggest puppy dog eyes I'd ever seen. I sweat-dropped wanting to look away, but I couldn't...ooohhh.
"Please, Kristy?' She asked. I sighed.
"Fine."
"Yay!" She said pulling me up with her.
"Good luck, K-chan!" Mitsukuni said clapping his hands together. I narrowed my eyes, he was enjoying my misery. When we got up front Ana went through the songs until she stopped at one with a wide grin.
"Oh my god they actually have this?" She mumbled in excitement. I glanced over her shoulder before I dead-panned.
"Don't do it, Ana." She looked.
"Oh I'm doing it." She pressed play and turned around.
"Ana, no I don't-" I gulped when I saw the crowd staring at us. Why were there so many people at karaoke in the middle of the day? Did everyone have an aspiring need to sing or something? I sighed taking the microphone from the stand. This was going to be embarrassing. I was blushing already.
"Hey, how is everyone doing today?" They cheered and Ana turned to me.
I gave a half-hearted "woo..".
When the music started I braced myself and started to singing with my cheeks going pink.
"When there's trouble you know who to call, TEEN TITANS!" I looked around me to see that people were getting with us despite the fact that Ana was definitely off tune and it was the theme song to a children's T.V show. Everyone was clapping along with the beat though they were laughing and after a while I was smile too. This was silly, but kind of fun at the same time. I looked at Mitsukuni, Haruhi, Rin and Reiko, they were clapping along as well. I glanced over at Ana who was grinning at me.
When the song ended we did a mocking bow and walked to our seats as the people cheered for us. They were a lot nicer than I thought they were going to be. "Yes, that was fun!" Ana said with a laugh. I smiled in agreement with her.
"Yeah."
"I should have known you'd pick something so childish." Stephanie said with a grin. "Though, it was entertaining nonetheless."
"Well, it's not everyday the world is bless with my expertise." Ana said with a joking smile. Well this was nice the two of them were actually getting along for once. "Anyone else want to give it a go."
"No, I think you've embarrassed enough people." I teasing, though I was half-way serious.
"I thought it was cute, K-chan. You have a nice voice." Mitsukuni said, smiling at me as he swung his legs in the chair.
"Yeah, I'm sure you would know." Ana mumbled. My eyes widened as I choked on my own air.
"ANA!" I yelled with red cheeks.
"Yeaaah, that wasn't appropriate." Haruhi said.
"I'm not understanding the reference." Reiko said.
"That's probably a good thing." Rin said. "Some people just don't have a filter on what they say." She glared at the girl who shrugged. I covered my face in embarrassment. I glanced over Mitsukuni who didn't seem to know what to say. He held his innocent expression, but I caught sight that the tips of his ears were red. So he was flustered, before I would only see his facial expression. It seems he gets embarrassed more than I thought.
I decided it was best to change the subject completely. Time to commence Mitsukuni's plan. "So, Reiko, um my sisters tell me your pretty serious about your academics."
"Yes, they are a big part of my life." She agreed. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, you see..." I trailed off rubbing the back of my head. "We were going to have a little study group thing...before school start, you know, to stay ahead."
"We were?" Haruhi asked. I gave her a nervous glance and she turned to Reiko. "Oh um...yeah we were?" It still sounded like a question. Dang it Haruhi, why weren't you a better liar.
"What does that have to do with me?" Reiko asked curiously.
"Um, I'd just thought that since you are going to be a mortician, maybe you could help me with science. You know, biology, study of the body and all. I'm not very good at it."
"Why me?" She asked with a raised brow. "I'm sure other people can assisted you with your school subjects."
"Yeah, your right. It was kind of out there for me to ask. I'm sure Mori can help me." Her mannerism changed a bit. "Mitsukuni's cousin, I'm sure you've met before if I'm not mistaken."
"I have." She said stiffly.
"Great guy, I'm sorry to bother you about it." I said with a shrug twisting the ends of my hairs, with a bright smile.. I don't know why I had decided to do this now, but I did. I wasn't very good at being persuasive. That was really more of Mitsukuni area.
"Well...I suppose if your are distress I could help you. It's a study group you say?" She asked.
"Oh yeah, me, Haruhi, Rin, Mitsukuni, Mori and a few others are going to get together and study it up." Study it up? Really Kris? I was really laying it on a bit thick now. I need to wrap this up soon.
"Alright, I suppose I will come." She said shortly, though she did look more excited now.
"Cool, I'll let you know when everything is set up." I said with a smile. I can't believe that actually worked, that never works. I glanced to the others who gave me questioning looks, but I just waved them off. I then peered over at Mitsukuni who looked rather satisfied with my accomplishment.
After a while we all got up and headed toward the exit. I stretched my arms and yawned, we had been out all day. Now I was tired. "Alright, well, I think I'm gonna head home." I said turning to the group.
"Do you want me to give you a ride?" Rin asked me, before Ana elbowed her in the side. "Oh uh...I mean...I'll take everyone else home except you?"
"Very subtle. I love how you really eased into that." Ana said with a sarcastic smile. Rin rolled her eyes.
"I'm heading back home now, I'll take you both home." Reiko said to the twins.
"Thank you." Stephanie said as she turned back to me. "I'll see later."
I waved to them and Ana winked at me. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
"Which is everything." Stephanie added. They continued to bicker as they were further and further away. I sighed and turned to Haruhi and Rin.
"You guys heading out too?" I asked. Haruhi nodded.
"I have to start dinner, dad is actually going to be home early to night." Haruhi said. "So I'll see you later."
"Are you taking her?" I asked turning to Rin. She nodded.
"No need to worry my lady, she will be returned home safely." She said with a slight mocking bow.
I rolled my eyes, but decided to play along. "Yes, you do that. I should hope that all goes well."
"As you wish my lady." She said with a curtsy.
Haruhi shook her head. "You guys are silly. I'll see you later Kris, Honey sempai."
"Bye-bye~" Mitsukuni said waving to her. When they were gone, I stuffed my hands into my pants pockets. I puffed out my cheeks before blowing out some air.
"Well, I'm not going to assume, but am I going with you?" I said.
"Of course, K-chan." Mitsukuni with a smile. I walked beside him quietly before glancing in his direction.
"So...is everything cool between us now?" I asked. Somehow I still felt uneasy.
He peered up at me before nodding. "Yes, I just want you to know I'm not changing how I feel. But I won't push you into anything."
"That's good. I wasn't sure."
"But I told you before too, at least I thought I did." Mitsukuni said with a puzzled expression.
"Yeah I know...I just thought...never mind."
"No, tell me what's wrong. You don't have to keep it to yourself." He said with a genuine expression.
"It's nothing wrong persay..." I said starting to blush. "Just forget it."
"No~" He persisted. "I wanna know what it is."
I took a deep breath. "I've just kind of...miss you is all."
The boy blinked. "Missed me?"
"Yes, missed you." I said with a deep blush. Understanding seemed to come to his expression as if to say 'Oooooh'.
He suddenly held a sparkling flowery atmosphere as he smiled. "Well, let's get you home then."
I raised my brow though I still felt completely embarrassed. "Okay..." Did he just ignore what I said?
He suddenly looked back at me with a extremely happy smile. The atmosphere around him was so sweet is was almost sickening. "K-chan, is your aunt home?" He asked with an unusually high pitched cheery tone.
I blinked. "No...she works really late tonight and even then she doesn't get home until the early hours of the morning."
"Well, would you mind if I came over since I've missed you too." He said with innocent eyes. He held his hands behind his back as he twisted back and forth.
"I don't see why not..." I said with a shrug. My mind had not yet linked together all the questions that the boy was asking me.
"Great! Let's go so we can have some fun together." He said skipping beside me.
"Fun?"
"Mmhm." He said with his usual innocent smile. Then it all clicked at once.
"Oh." Is all I said trying to ignore the evident blush running up my neck.
