A/N – I know this is little shorter than other chapters but I thought you owed a chapter for all your patience.
Ch 106 Let's Dance
Thorn entered the Hmaster's office. Hmaster, 88, and 89 were there waiting for her arrival.
"Thorn how nice of you to take time out of your busy social life to see me" Hmaster said like a gentleman laced with evil.
"What" Thorn replied?
88 and 89 went to the control panel on the desk and played the security footage they hacked into from the zoo where Thorn and Jake talked about the dance.
Thorn stood in utter horror and shock.
"O somebody's in trouble" 89 commented.
Next thing she knew Thorn was surrounded by other members of the huntsclan. Thorn jumped into fight mode and take out the other members before going for Hmaster himself.
"How could you I raised you, I trained you" Hmaster yelled as he readied his weapon.
Thorn knocked the weapon from his hands and then put the point to his throat.
"Perhaps you have trained me to well" Thorn said ready to take down her once master.
"On the contrary" Hmaster said not the least bit afraid.
"You will use you training to betray your dragon friend and bring me the other three skulls" Hmaster said.
"I will never betray him" Thorn said pushing the weapon closer to his flesh.
"O I think you will" Hmaster said. "You see I know the exact location of your parents" Hmaster said then gave a glance at 88 and 89.
"Behold" 88 said hitting a button only to have a puppet show appeared on screen. "Opps hit the wrong button" 88 said then hit the right one.
On the screen Rose real parents at the kitchen table eating dinner.
"My parents" Thorn said pulling back the weapon allowing Hmaster to walk over to the screen. "I recognize them from my dream."
"They are quite safe and if you wish for them to stay that way you'll obey my orders and get me the other three skulls" Hmaster said.
"Of course all the other skulls are useless without the 13th" elite 34 said stepping out of the darkness into full view. "Which I just so happen to have" he said holding out the crystal skull.
"What are you doing here?" Hmaster yelled "you are a deserter and therefore a traitor."
"Not so much a traitor more like a man with mission to finish, a man who wouldn't let someone else finish it instead" elite answered.
"None the less you left, going rouge" Hmaster informed.
"You'd do the same, you would go rouge to finish this mission yourself" elite said. "And I'm sure you and the rest of the clan will be more than happy to welcome me back for this" elite said holding out the skull. "So shall you work with me" elite questioned.
~That night at the dance~
Spud and Trixie were together at the dance slow dancing.
"So here we are at homecoming" Trixie said a little uneasy. "So you feel any sparks yet" Trixie asked.
"You know I think I do" Spud said before stifling a belch. "Or it just might be acid reflux. How about I spin you like in the movies?"
"I guess so" Trixie answered.
Spud more so twisted Trixie before spinning her across the dance floor.
"Hey Spud have you seen Rose" Jake asked.
"Sorry no, now if you'll excuse me I think I should help Trixie out of the punch bowl" Spud said straightening his hat and walking off.
"Al" Jake said putting a hand on Al's shoulder while he danced with his blonde date. "Have you seen Rose?" Jake asked as Al stopped dancing to answer.
"No, but she's most likely making sure she looks extra good, you know with being nominated for queen" Al explained before returning to dance with his date.
Jake looked at his watch getting worried.
"Good news ladies the old man is out so we have the shop all to…" Fu was saying to two girls only to stop when he found the shop trashed. "Uh-O" was all Fu could say.
A huntsclan helicopter flew over the city skies holding two conflicting members.
"Nicely done, bringing me the last three skulls" Hmaster said looking at the skulls sitting on the armrest of his chair.
"I got you the skulls now tell me where my parents are" Thorn insisted.
"No yet, we have more to do" Hmaster responded.
"You promised if I got you the skulls…" Thorn said but interrupted.
"And you promised your allegiants to the huntsclan" Hmaster informed.
"That was before I learned everything the clan says is a lie" Thorn responded.
"Watch your tongue, you're on thin ice" Hmaster warned.
Unknown to him Thorn was far from finished, with betrayal.
~At the dance~
"And now the moment you've all been waiting for" Sun announced holding an envelope. "The crowning of the king and queen."
Jake was still nervously awaiting the arrival of Rose. He heard the elevator ding, waiting with hope when his cell went off.
"Fu this isn't a good time" Jake said answering the phone.
"You're telling me the huntsman broke in and took the skulls" Fu said as he cleared rumble away in the shop.
"Dude if he got the 13th skull he now has the power to destroy us, all of us" Jake said panicking then looking at himself. "I guess he hasn't otherwise he'd wish us all gone or dead and we're still here."
"Yeah about that" Fu said uncovering his computer. "The skulls can only be activated if they are inserted into the gargoyles of panthem, what every that is."
Jake looked around to see 13 gargoyles surrounding the roof holding the homecoming dance.
"Do they look like this" Jake asked taking a picture of them with his phone.
"Yeah just like, hey how did you…" Fu was asking.
"Fu, you and gramps need to get to the panthem building now" Jake said with urgency.
"And the new homecoming king and queen are…" Sun said opening the envelope.
"There's something else kid" Fu said looking at the surveillance tapes. "Rose led the Hmaster to the shop, sorry kid."
"Jake and Rose" Sun said behind Jake.
Jake could feel the crushing blow of betrayal and the sound of his heart breaking over the cheering and clapping of the crowd.
"I…I gotta go" Jake said hang up the phone.
"Jake?" Al asked seeing Jake had sorta zoned out.
"Jake you okay" Trixie asked.
"Did you find Rose" Spud added as the three friends gathered around Jake.
Everything that was happing on the roof came to a sudden halt as helicopters hovered overhead then sprayed a smoke screen.
While the kids were temporally blinded huntsclan members dropped onto the roof.
When the smoke cleared everyone saw the masked intruders and panicked and started running, expect for the foursome plus Sun. Sun run to the elevators to open them and called the kids to escape knowing she had to save the students first before join the soon to be fight. Once all the students were in and riding the elevators down Sun went to stand a Jake's side.
Now five were left looking at the hoard of huntsclan holding the crystal skulls.
"So it's true" Jake said both hurt and angry.
Thorn removed her mask and said "I'm sorry Jake."
"Any to say before I wish for your destruction" Hmaster asked mocking.
"Well this is a party so I just have two to say" Jake said turning dragon. "Let's dance."
With those words said Sun transformed then in the blink of an eye Gramps and Fu swooped down to the roof in fighting stance. Trixie and Spud put on a game face tightening their fists and legs. Al turn to flashy fighting form called to water from the bottles at the snack to him ready to hit the huntsclan with his water bending abilities.
An epic battle of this Romeo, Juliet was about to happen but one difference is Juliet betrayed Romeo and one could only hope this didn't turn to a tragic love story leaving both love sick teens dead. And in this story their death would not bring peace to the two warring clans only look to spill more blood.
