A Dragon's Crimson Cry

Ch 107 Epic Choice
The starting bell for the fight went off in the combatants' heads and all jumped forward.
Al was whipping away clan members that rushed forward and froze the feet of as many as he could before more rushed forward.
Fu pulled a potion bottle from his folds, uncorked it and poured it onto his paws making them glow neon green. Then Fu started to blast Huntsmemebers with the green energy.
Sun and LS were in their dragon forms using their claws to slice, tails to swipe, and fire to burn.
Spud and Trixie put their fists up rushing forward.
A Huntsmember used his staff to cut down the homecoming banner. Another grabbed it and quickly wrapped it around Spud and Trixie taking the two humans out of the fight.
"Trixie I know this may not be the right time but the kiss… I didn't feel anything" Spud said turning to look at Trixie.
"Me too" Trixie answered "So it did mean nothing."
"Yep nothing" Spud said.
"Yes, I'm so happy. Wait for me Kyle Willkins" Trixie exclaimed.
"And Stacy… assuming we live through this" Spud suddenly stated.
"O right that" Trixie admitted as the two turned back to watch the fight.
While their opponents were distracted one of the huntsmembers was placing the skulls in place.
While all this was taking place Jake was squaring off with the HM.
Jake and HM were staring down each other for a few seconds when they leapt into battle. Jake transformed in mid jump. HM's staff was glowing hot.
HM brought the staff down at Jake. Jake blocked with his right forearm. They landed on their feet back onto the roof, the staff still against Jake's arm. Jake swiped at HM with his tail. HM leapt out of the way taking his staff with him. Jake breathed fire at his feet hoping to knock him off balance. HM took a few steps back and Jake swooped in for a hit. HM pushed his staff into the roof and used the leverage to move him out of the way of the hit. Jake did a U turn and they were facing each other again.
The battle went on like that for a while the two were evenly matched.
"Thorn what are you waiting for" HM yelled to Thorn who wasn't doing much but weaving in and out through the battle.
Thorn aimed then looked away as she fired. The blast hit Jake's back and sent him skidding across the roof and forced him back to human.
"It's over dragon" HM said walking over to Jake.
But when he was two feet away Jake sent out a blast of fire from his hand forcing HM to jump back.
"What" HM said as he landed.
"I have a few more tricks up my sleeve" Jake said getting to his feet fire balls burning in each hand.
Jake went after HM with his fire bending expertise.
"All right, bending rules" Al yelled seeing Jake then using a water whip to knock 3 huntsmembers to the side of the roof.
After a few moves by both Jake and HM they found they were still even.
"Looks like your tricks aren't good enough boy" HM said still holding fright stance.
"I haven't used my ultimate move yet" Jake said then made the motion used by fire bending elves to create lighting and before the HM could register what was happing Jake fired and HM and he fell flat on the ground when the lighting hit it's mark.
"That's my ultimate move" Jake said coming up to the unconscious HM.
Jake didn't have much more time to think after he defeated the HM as his true greatest enemy and fear stepped forward into Jake's line of sight. Now the eyes of two of the oldest foes looked at each other. Jake was frozen and it took all his strength to not shake in fear.
Then the feeling of fire swept through his body. Jake closed his eyes and dropped his head, when he brought his head back up and opened his eyes they were glowing gold.
"Payback" Jake said as his body was encased in gold.
Jake lunched forward at lightning speed and punched the rouge in the stomach.
"Murderer" Jake yelled as he knocked the rouge in the head with a roundabout kick.
The rouge stumbles back but remained on his feet. Jake went for him again.
"This is for my sister" Jake shouted slashing the shoulder with his golden claws.
"This is for my mother" Jake yelled throwing an uppercut in the man's jaw.
"This is for my human father" Jake yelled kicking the man in his knee.
The rouge fell to his knees dazed and in pain.
"And this is for everyone else" Jake yelled punching the rouge in the head so hard the skull mask shattered and for the first time Jake was able to see the man's true face. He looked like a lot of other normal man. Shaven head, average sized ears, large nose, and thin mouth. The only thing that defined him from other man was the dragon birthmark wrapped around his face.
"And this… this is for you" Jake said standing merely inches from him.
Jake pressed his hand hard against the man's face. He was going to burn that mark from his face and leave him with a new one.
The golden glow burned the man's face you could see smoke, hear a sizzling sound, and the man's screaming. Then Jake took his hand off looking at his handy work a perfect handprint blistering on his face. The man brought a hand to his face hoping it would ease the pain. Jake left the man's eyes untouched and the rouge had them trained on Jake through his fingers.
The man shot his hand out at Jake but Jake caught him by the wrist. Jake kept hold of the skin as it began to burn too.
"You can't hurt me" Jake said.
"No but she can" the rouge said gesturing to his right.
Jake let go of his wrist and looked in the man's right and there stood Thorn.
While Jake was transfixed on Thorn. Jake's golden glow stopped and the rouge crawled back to lick his wounds.
Jake then noticed the 13th skull under her arm.
"I'm sorry Jake" Thorn said. "Anything you want to say it now."
"I should hate you. I have so many reasons…" Jake said before continuing. "But for reasons I don't know I still love you, you still have a hold over my heart."
"I love you too but this is the only way this can end" Thorn said raising the skull. "The skull only gives each person a single wish and this is mine." Thorn took a deep breath. "I wish for the destruction of the… huntsclan."
Thorn placed to skull under her arm and watched what she started.
All the huntsclan members' birthmarks started to glow green and a green, swirling vortex opened in the sky. The huntsclan one by one were being pulled into the vortex by their now glowing marks.
88 and 89, at seeing their fellow hunts members being sucked into the vortex lost what little courage they had, which even with the other members behind them wasn't very much, backed away.
"What do we do" 88 yelled looking to 89.
"Uh" 89 said as he pulled out the huntsclan rule book. "According to page 58, section 12 any huntsclan member still in their apprenticeship are not full members and may leave" 89 read out loud.
"Then we quite" 88 said as he and 89 dropped their staffs and tore off their uniforms leaving them in nothing but their masks and underwear.
"So no vortex for us goodbye" 89 said as he and 88 took off to the stairs and ran away.
Thorn removed her mask and looked down at her own mark glowing. Rose feet started to leave the ground as the vortex pull at her mark.
"No" Jake yelled grabbing Rose's hand.
"Jake it's okay, you can let me go" Rose said looking down at Jake.
Rose's hand slowly slipped from Jake's as she ascended toward the vortex.
Jake's grip slipped and Rose continued to ascend. Rose dropped the skull and Jake caught it in his hands feet from the ground.
"We got to stop this" Jake said turning to Fu and LS.
"We can't" Fu answered.
"We need to destroy the skulls now" LS informed in a commanding tone.
"No, I've lost too many of those that are close to me" Jake said trying to hold back tears. "I can't let it happen again."
Then an idea struck him as he looked down at the skull.
"I wish Rose was never taken by the huntsclan" Jake yells holding the skull above his head.
A wave of magic power shot out from the skull. Rose disappeared in mid-air. All of Jake's memories of all his times with Rose in reverse.
Tears well up in Jake's eyes. So many emotions were going through him that he wasn't thinking and lost in his own mind. The skull slips from his grip and came crashing to the ground. As the skull shattered to pieces the other 12 skulls cracked then followed.
It took Jake a moment for his senses to come back. He dropped his arm that had held the skull just moments before and was silent. Then he turned to the other occupants of the roof.
"They're destroyed" Jake shouted.
In the right light Jake's eyes had crimson haze in them that bleed into the crystal clear tear making them look almost like blood. Jake then flew off without another glance or a word.
"Um could somebody…" Spud questioned since they had been forgotten by everyone else that they've been tied up and now wanted to get out.
Al came over and used a water blade to slice open the banner and helped them up.
"Uh should we…" Trixie said pointing in the direction Jake went.
"No I believe he needs some time alone" LS answered.
"He has much to think about and come to terms with" Sun added.
~The next day~
Nobody had seen Jake all night and Jake didn't show up at school the next morning. His three friends were a bit worried and were going the call LS to see if he had any update on Jake.
The three had just finished lunch and were heading to their lockers to see Jake at his locker rummaging around its contents.
"Jake" all three exclaimed and ran up to him.
Jake closed his locker door and they were able to get a good look at him.
Jake looked like he hadn't gotten any rest. His clothes were rumpled like he just pulled them from the hamper and threw them on last second. There were dark circles under his eyes, and his hair though normally in spikes was ruffled in spots and hung limp.
The three weren't going to mention how he looked.
"Jake you doing okay" Al asked.
"Okay as I can be after what happened I guess" Jake answered.
"You know Jake…" Trixie started but Jake put up his hand.
"I don't want to talk right now maybe after school" Jake said going to his next class.
School ended and the foursome were exiting the school through the front doors.
"Where have you been all last night and this morning" Al asked.
"Kinda everywhere, I just flew around trying to clear my head, take some alone time" Jake answered. "I went home and changed before coming here. Didn't think I should stay in my formal wear for an average school day."
"I know this probably isn't the time but did you have to destroy the skulls so soon?" Trixie said.
"Yeah, I wanted to wish to be a merman" Spud exclaimed making a swimming action.
"And I was going to be the wife of Kyle Willkins" Trixie added almost singing the last words. "What about you" Trixie asked looking at Al.
"Growing up in a world of magic I heed the warning be careful what you wish for. I'd take some time to know exactly what I want and word my wish carefully" Al said when a thought struck him. "But I have better question, if Rose was never taken by the huntsclan and lived a totally different life why do we remember her from the life before the wish?"
"Yeah why do we remember" Trixie asked.
"I really don't know magic's a tricky thing" Jake said strapping on his helmet and getting his skateboard.
Jake kicked his board forward not paying attention to the world around him and in four feet bumped into some one.
"Sorry I…" Jake started to say when he saw it was Rose. "Hey" Jake said looking at Rose's face looking for any hint of recollection.
"Hey yourself" Rose said showing no sign of recognizing Jake.
"Hi I'm Jake guess I'll see you around" Jake said.
"Actually my dad got a job in Hong Kong, today was my last day here" Rose said then her parents' car pulled up. "So I guess this is bye, Jake."
Rose got in the car, closed the door and was gone.
"Ouch" Al said coming up beside Jake.
"Everyone I love leaves me" Jake said with frustration and ping of sadness.
A/N- I know the ending maybe not that great but it was best I could do. Also the first half of the prophecy done but there's a second half but it may be a bit before I start a sequel.
