Logan's POV

If there had ever been any doubt left in after all that I had gone through it certainly vanished after this revelation.

I did nothing but hurt myself by hurting others.

Every time I looked in my Gypsy girl's eyes I didn't see any hurt, pain or anger. But I saw no kind of recognition and that cluelessness broke me more than any other emotion could.

" There's got to be some way around this," Gwen muttered, throwing the sheet off her form. "I'm fine Grandma, there's no reason to stop me walking." Ignoring both her grandmother and Daphne's pleas Gwen strode up to me and managed a smile. In spite of its impersonality it was a move in the right direction.

"Come on then Logan. Let's try and find a solution." She walked out of the room without a second look back. Grandma Frost patted my arm. The question escaped from me almost as if it had a life of its own.

"What do you see for us?" my voice came out breathy. You didn't need to have the powers to recognise that all of my emotions were in a whirlwind. She traced the lines of my palm tenderly before closing her eyes. They re-opened so suddenly that I was taken by surprise.

"I see nothing with you and Gwen," she told me, confusion etched into her face. "I close my eyes and try to see but it's like a blank canvas...'. I tried to smile and from the look on Daphne's face I knew I was failing.

"Logan, wait!" I ignored her call as I belatedly followed Gwen. Spending time with her always calmed me, even if she didn't know who I was.

A familiar yapping sound filled my ears and I looked up to see Nyx jump into Gwen's open arms. The Nyx pup was euphorically happy, licking Gwen wherever she could reach. Then once her eyes, so like her owner's, came to rest on me she bounded over and pawed at my shins.

"If Nyx likes you that's a good sign," her laughter sounded like the bells of heaven. "I'm sure we can get along really well."

I was over by her side before she knew it, that little ah of surprise that she let out was damningly cute.

"Gypsy, we've done a lot more than just get along." My voice came out husky without me even trying. That's just the kind of effect this girl had on me.

"Oh yeah?" she feigned disinterest. "Care to remind you?" Her eyebrows raised suggestively, subtly flirting.

"I try to please," I answered, mustering my will to sound as nonchalant as possible.

My lips met hers and were initially unresponsive. Then, ever so sweetly and slowly she moulded her mouth to mine. Even if her mind didn't remember her body certainly did.

And for a while it was as if nothing had ever changed.
