Seth POV
So stupid, didn't she even care about getting shot. I ran after Alexa, focusing on her long blonde hair flying about. She turned a corner and ducked under the arms of an oncoming Circle member. She spun and kicked him in the back of the leg, he fell forward. I jumped over him and kept up with her, drawing my gun just in case.
"Alexa!" I yelled and jumped to knock her over just as a knife flew past her head. I landed on top of her, shielding her from the smashing glass and bullets.
"Get off Seth!" Alexa wriggled out of my protective grip, making a dash for the next door.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" I asked her once she made it through the door into the girls dormitories.
"They don't want anyone else, they're after me!" She yelled, tears falling down her face.
"And Cammie." I grabbed both her arms in my tight grip. "This isn't all about you, you know." Alexa freezes and looks back towards the door, someone is trying to get in.
"Help!" It was Cammie. I went and opened the door, pulling her in and locking it again. She was bleeding down her forehead.
"Cammie?" Alexa rushed past me like I wasn't even there.
"Where's Zach, Macey, Bex, Liz, Mum, Joe? Where is everybody?" She rambled. Alexa felt her forehead, it wasn't a gun shot, it was just a graze, made by glass more likely.
"They aren't here Cam, we are." She said. Cammie started to sob quietly, taking deep, rasping breaths.
"We need to get out of here." I said and went to the door, that was being forced open. "We don't have long."
"But the others..." Cammie and Alexa both said at the same time.
"Will be with Joe and Zach, they had a plan, but someone," I looked at Alexa, "Had to go run off." She looked at her feet. I drew my gun and handed it to Cammie.
"What, no, I can't-" She complained.
"Oh, give it here." Alexa took the gun and expertly cocked it back.
"Good, on my mark, Cammie, I want you to open the door and step out the way." She nodded and took position next to the splintering wooden door.
"What about me?" Alexa held the gun ready in her left hand.
"I want you to shoot what comes through the door, unless it's a good guy. Got it?" I said, she nodded and pointed the gun with both hands at the door. They didn't shake, she kept very still and her eyes were fixed on the door.
I put my finger to my lips and stood at the other side of the door to Cammie. Then I counted on my fingers from 5 and nodded to Cammie.
Cammie flung open the door and 2 black dressed people, a girl and a boy jumped in, guns ready. Alexa shot the first one down quickly and ducked as the others gun went off. I picked up a vase that was placed on a bed side table and smashed the girl around the head, unconscious.
The boy Alexa shot screamed in pain. I whacked him round the head and he lay still, not dead, but not conscious either.
"Let's go, Joe'll be waiting for us in Liz's high tech van." I left.
"How'd you know about that?" Cammie elbowed an one coming middle aged woman in the face and I took her out with a well aimed blow to the neck. Alexa kept walking forward, gun pointed just level with her face, back straight.
She turned a corner and shot two shots. More cries in pain. She motioned us forward, we could see the stairs that lead down to the front door.
"Seth there's 3 shots left. You got anymore?" Alexa whispered to me when we crouched down next to the library desk again, there was blood on the floor but Tina was nowhere to be seen, thankfully.
"Plenty. Alexa on my count run for the top of the stairs." I said and looked above the desk. Eva was fending off 2 men with a thick dictionary.
"Help Eva." Cammie whispered to Alexa who balanced the gun on the top of the desk and took 2 shots, both men fell down, one was dead.
Eva stomped on the other ones head, her face was bloody and she was limping.
"Go!" I said. Alexa jumped over the desk and me and Cammie went around. I chucked Alexa more amo and she used her final shot on a woman who had just shot an unarmed first year, they were dead.
"Oh my god." Cammie went to them, their face was lifeless.
"We can't help her now." I said and pulled her away from the body. "Come on." Alexa went a head, eyes flicking from side to side while reloading her gun.
"The door, it's guarded, six men." Cammie said, pulling back at my arm. Alexa nodded, like she was listening and smiled a grim smile.
"Six men, six bullets." She aimed at the first ones head.
"No, Alexa." I said just as she fired, it hit him in the shoulder.
"Not as good a shot as I was." She said and aimed again, the guards were focused now, looking to see where the shots were coming from.
"Don't kill them, Alexa." I said and skipped down the last few steps to her. Alexa rolled her eyes and shot two in the leg and hip.
"Whatever." She said and ran to the last three. One got shot in the hip, the other in the stomach. The last she smacked round the head.
"The cars just outside, in the barn over night. It should be there now." Cammie said and pulled open the door, more Gallagher Girls fled, we went last, checking who was leaving.
"Where are all the Circle?" I asked after all the girls and teacher had cleared out. Alexa bit her lip and looked up at the stairs.
"I don't know." She said and left the school, stepping out into the night. That's when the engine started.
