Seth POV

I felt out of place sat in the living room of the house. I was surrounded by people I didn't know and all I could think about was Alexa, was that weird? Me and Zach did NOT get along, and I didn't really know Bex, Macey, Cammie, Anna or Liz. Even Townsend seemed to be keeping his distance. So I sat while they chatted and waited quietly for Alexa to come down.

Cammie sat of Zach's lap, they were talking in hushed voices that I couldn't quite make out, something about the Circle though. But I could have guessed that. Bex was talking with Townsend about how long it would take the Circle to find us, and that we couldn't stay here for long. Macey and Liz were discussing how they would find the rest of the pupils from Gallagher Academy, and facing the reality that some would be dead and other would have been taken by the Circle. It was Circle of Cavan this, Circle that. Only Anna didn't seem to be talking, after a while she got up and left the room, heading to the stairs. After a minute or so, I followed. No one seemed to mind or notice.

She headed up and stopped at the bathroom door, so I stopped on the stairs. "Are you following me?" She asked. I froze. Anna turned around, her eyes were red from crying and she looked defeated. "I just came to talk to Alexa." She said. Hearing her name, Alexa opened the bathroom door. She looked tired and beaten, but at least she was clean, I longed for that shower, maybe later.

"What's up?" Alexa asked. Looking between me and Anna. None of us spoke, truthfully I didn't really have anything to say, so it was Anna who spoke first.

"I just wanted to talk to you about what happened at the school." Alexa's face fell.

"What about that?" She tried not to be harsh, but you could sense it in her tone. She didn't want to talk about the attack, or the Circle, clearly. I listened more.

"I just.. erm.. You and Cammie, I was just wondering why they needed both of you. They obviously attacked then because you two were together." Anna sounded unsure of what to say, like she was treading on wafer thin ice.

Alexa put her head in her hands. "I'm really not sure, it doesn't make sense to me." I thought back to what Zach had said when I was eavesdropping on the conversations in the van. About how similar Cammie and Alexa were. There was something about that, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

"It's okay." Anna sounded disappointed. She was probably hoping that Alexa knew how to get back the missing girls. Or blamed her on some level for the attacks and the deaths. Alexa noticed that too, because she looked away from Anna and at me.

"Did you want something?" She asked, Anna turned and headed down the stairs, almost knocking me back.

"No, not particularly." I shrugged. What could I say? I did want to talk about when we kissed earlier, but I didn't think that now was the right time. She hesitated, wondering what to say.

"About earlier..." She started, when the door opened and someone came up the stairs. Zach stopped, I turned and looked at him.

"Oh, sorry, hope I wasn't interrupting. Townsend wants to talk to Tail Catcher." Alexa gave a faint smile, and I felt jealous. Now that was odd.

"I'll be right down." She said. "Talk to you later," she said to me and followed Zach down. I sighed and sat on the steps, I was there for a minute before I decided to head down and join the others. Macey and Liz headed past me in the doorway, going for a shower by the looks of it.

Bex sat with Anna on the couch on the far side, I saw Zach head into the kitchen with Alexa. So I followed.

"Seth." Townsend said, "just the man I was looking for." I looked to him, and Cammie and Zach, the at at Alexa. Who was playing with her blonde hair.

"I am?" I came and sat down at the table with them.

"Yeah, we need all the help we can get finding a new place to stay after here. It won't be safe for long." He said, they all nodded.

"I might know a few places." Alexa offered. "I've been living around places for years now, there must be somewhere I know." I agreed.

"Same, Blackthorne has a few safe houses in and around the area." I said. Zach shook his head.

"Are you kidding? Blackthorne students almost always become Circle of Cavan members, I doubt that would be any good." He said. I didn't say anymore.

"What about some places mum and Bex's parents might go. If this has happened that's where they would have gone. Regrouping with them would be the best idea." Cammie said confidently. I clicked my tongue.

"Okay, but how will we get there? We can't use the van, seriously, and what else have we got? I am all for finding Ms Morgan and the Baxter's but honestly, we have no way of getting there." Zach looked like he was going to snap at me but he didn't, I guess I'd said something good. Alexa grinned.

"I might know a way." She said, standing up. "Everyone get showered and ready, we'll all meet in here by 8 am. Trust me." No one argued, even Townsend didn't look like he had anything to say. Probably because there was nothing else to say. I had been right, and only Alexa seemed to know what to do. But even so, I didn't like being kept in the dark.
