Sorry this took so long to post. I've been having some computer trouble on top of work. This chapter is a little short but there is the second part of what happened to Luke. As always, comments, reviews, and questions are all welcome. Feel free to PM me. Enjoy!

The mission on Luna was a quick one. Secure the outside of the facility, destroy some servers, and fight of automated defenses. Luke had listened to the radio chatter with Garrus on the Normandy's radio. Claire had decided that since the area was an Alliance training ground, that an Alliance team should be the one to go. Mallory, Ashley, and Kaiden agreed despite Tali and Wrex's begging to go on a mission. For the past week, the two of them had been stuck on the ship watching everyone else go out on missions and they were getting antsy.

"You know I have only been on one ground mission." Wrex said as punching a punching bag that they had set up in the loading bag. He was not one for being quick on his feet, but each punch was devastatingly powerful.

"Yeah, but that was a pretty intense mission. Volcanoes, geth, a krogan battlemaster, and Liara. You can't get much better." Luke said sitting back. He hated having his arm in a sling. It made him feel like an easy target.

"Except you guys got to fight rachni. That must have been great." Wrex said turning to look at Luke and Garrus.

"Oh yeah, nothing like fighting giant bugs to get your fill of combat." Garrus said chuckling.

"You know, I'm sure that if you ask her, Claire would take you on the next ground mission." Luke said.

"Yeah, maybe. Might just have to start shooting stuff around here to pass the time." Luke laughed and started toward the elevator but Garrus stopped him. There was an uncomfortable look of his face as he cleared his throat.

"You remember Dr. Saleon." Garrus started. "I found out that he changed his name to Heart and bought a new ship. Do you think I should ask Claire to look into it?" Garrus asked. Luke shook his head vigorously, unsure if he had heard his friend correctly.

"Wait, you may have found Saleon? Give me the damn coordinates and I'll make sure that we go after that son of a bitch." Luke said opening his omni-tool. Garrus transferred the coordinates. He was just as determined to find the doctor as Luke was. But he was pretty sure what Luke would do when they caught him. He was pretty sure that Luke had already picked out flowers for Saleon's funeral arrangement.

"What should we do when we find him, we can't arrest him. The way I linked the two of them was not exactly legal." Garrus said.

"We send him to the only judge that is truly just, death. We know he was guilty and all those people that he took with him when he escaped are probably dead now so that is another 30 or so murders." Luke stepped into the elevator and looked back at his friend. "Monsters like Saleon don't get a trial. They get a bullet."

The door closed as the Mako came roaring into the cargo bay. Garrus could see some scorch marks where it had taken fire. The ground team piled out and started to strip their armor. Garrus could not help but watch as Claire slipped the armor plating from her back. The way she moved was nearly intoxicating. He wanted to say something, to compliment her, to say what he had said in the medbay to her face, but he could not bring himself to do it.

"Hey Garrus?"

"Yeah, what?" Garrus said nearly jumping out of his skin as Ashley came up next to him.

"I promised Luke that I would try to get to know the alien members. I thought I could start with you." Garrus could tell that she was feeling uncomfortable but smiled and nodded.

"He asked me to be patient with you while you tried." Ashley smiled and shook her head.

"It's almost like Luke was setting us up."

"A good agent covers all their bases and Luke is one of the best." Garrus looked around quickly. "But don't tell him I said that. It will go right to his head."

Ashley smiled and nodded toward the equipment table. "I've got to clean our equipment from the mission. I always see you tinkering with your rifle, you maybe want to give me a hand. You could tell me more about when you and Luke were working together at C-Sec." Garrus nodded and followed her over to the table.

As he did, he spotted Claire out of the corner of his eye looking at him, but as soon as he turned to look directly at her, she looked away. Could she be mad at me? But why? I haven't done anything. Oh spirits, maybe she is mad because I haven't done anything! But what can I do?

He sighed as he and Ashley started cleaning the weapons. They cleaned almost competitively, racing each other at taking the weapons apart and cleaning them. This continued for several minutes until they ran out of weapons.

"Well, we know that we can get along when we are working." Ashley said placing the weapons in their teammate's lockers.

"It's a start." Garrus answered with a smirk.

In the mess hall, Luke grabbed Claire's arm. "We need to talk."

"About Mindoir?" Claire asked looking at her brother slightly confused.

"Later. This is a more recent issue and needs to be moved on quickly." Luke replied. He started heading toward Claire's quarters at a brisk pace. Claire hurried after him more out of curiosity than anything else.

The door closed and Luke opened his omni-tool. He punched up a map of Hershel system in the Kepler Verge. The coordinates of a ship called the Fedele displayed themselves on the view screen as Luke showed the location to Claire.

"I want to go here. I want to board this ship. There is someone there that I have been meaning to catch up with for a very long time." Claire looked at her brother and could see the fire burning in his eyes. Whoever he was after, he was going after with a vengeance.

"Luke, I can't take us light-years out of our way so you can have revenge." Claire said looking at the registry for the ship. "Besides, says here that it is a medical research ship run by a Dr. Heart. Who could you possibly want on that ship?"

"Dr. Heart is actually Dr. Saleon, a sick bastard that grew organs in his employees and hostages. He got away from Garrus and I when we first started working together." Luke started.

"I know. Garrus told me about it. C-Sec brass would not authorize you to shoot down his shuttle and he got away." Claire said displaying the map on her viewscreen above her desk.

"Then you know that this is unfinished business for us and very personal. I need your help on this Claire." He could see she was on the edge of a decision. He had to make sure it went his way. "I'll tell you anything you want to know. Give you anything you want."

"I want to know the rest of the story of what happened to you. How you escaped the slavers, got back to Mindoir, and who retrieved you." Luke swallowed the lump that formed in his throat.

"Order Joker to head to the coordinates and I'll start talking." Luke said

Claire smirked and brought up her omni-tool with the intercom connection active. "Joker, set a course for grid three, sector nine of the Hershel system, Kepler Verge. We are looking for the MSV Fedele."

"Copy that commander." The response came. Luke could feel the ship altering course.

"Story now." Claire said sitting down on a small couch that was tucked in the corner of the room.

"I told you about how I was watching everyone else break. I started to act like I had broken too. They started using me to haul and carry things around the ship and do chores that were too dangerous or they simply didn't want to do. I don't know how long I had been there. It felt like years, but one day, I got a hold of a sharp metal pipe and I killed the guard that was with me. You can't imagine the anxiety after all that conditioning. I realized that some of it had started to work. I saw those monsters as my superiors and it physically hurt to fight them." Luke closed his eyes for a moment. He could feel the cold metal in his hand and the vibration of the pipe as it connected to the guard's skull.

"Geez Luke. We were only sixteen. You should never have had to see any of that." Claire was leaning forward using her knees to support her elbows.

"As soon as I had done it, I realized that I really didn't have a way off the ship planned out, so I ran to the nearest escape shuttle and programmed the auto-pilot for Mindoir. It took a few days but I made it. The shuttle crashed and all I had was the shuttle survival bag which was not much to tell you the truth. Within a week I was out of food and water. I remember being so thirsty and weak that I thought I was hallucinating when I saw humans in tactical armor moving in a column along the top of a hill." Luke stopped and wet his lips. "They brought me along with them giving me some of their rations and water. They completed their mission and took me back to their ship."

Claire had a soft look on her face as she made her way over to her brother. "Thank you for telling me. I'm sorry you had to go through so much."

"Yeah, well, a deal's a deal." Luke said rubbing his the shoulder of his broken arm. "By the way, I have one more request."

"What's that?"

"Garrus and I want to go with you to find Saleon." Claire looked at her brother and sighed. She knew that if she tried to stop him, he would suit up anyway and follow them. She might as well take them.

"Okay, grab Garrus, Wrex, and Tali. They have been begging me to take them on a mission. Tell everyone to be ready in four hours. We should be there by then."

Luke embraced his sister with his good arm and smiled. "Thank you for understanding."

"I don't understand you wanting to go out while you're still hurt, but I do understand wanting to go after a monster that got away from you before." Luke nodded and got up to leave. "I do have one last question though." Luke turned back to his sister.

"What is it?"

"You said that you were tortured by the slavers and I believe you, but where are your scars? Beating like the ones you described would have left horrible scars everywhere." Luke wet his lips and mulled over his words in his mind.

"This is…" Luke started. Claire could tell that Luke was having difficulty finding the right words. "I can't answer that."

"What do you mean? This is not about the troops who found you. I just want to know why you don't have any scars."

"Claire, don't ask about the troops that found me. Don't ask about Lazarus. Don't ask about my scars. I've got enough mental ones." Luke said softly.

"Okay, I didn't mean to push." Claire got up and closed her viewscreen. "Let's go get Saleon." She watched as the anxiety left her brother's face and his eyes began to burn with a ferocity that she had only seen in battle hardened marines. She had to be careful to not let Luke lose control. As far as she knew, they were going to put Saleon in a cell, not a body bag.
