Chapter 3-Vallhalley of the Dolls
Hey guys, I want to start with an apology, I literally had no idea how I was going to write this chapter up until today when it came to me, so I have been focusing so hard on the Story of Albion one that something had to give. Anyway I promise I will be better, so I don't own Charmed but Cassie is mine.
"What kind of Witchlighter can't heal?" Paige questioned sarcastically as she walked into the living room holding her shoulder. I decided just to sit on the sofa and watch the fireworks.
"For the record, you can't heal either," Chris argued back as he walked in behind her.
Paige gave him a look, "I'm half Witchlighter. How come you didn't tell us about this before we hired you?"
"Because you didn't hire me. I was assigned by the Elders," Chris replied back smartly.
Just then Phoebe walked through the door carrying some cream, "Any other little surprises you would like to share with us?"
"No," Chris snapped as Phoebe sat down beside Paige. Chris sat on the edge of a chair before explaining, "Look, I haven't been a Witchlighter very long, okay? And healing, it's big and takes a little while to learn how to do."
"Great. Student-lighter," Phoebe shot back while putting cream on Paige's shoulder. I didn't see exactly what she had done to it in all the commotion but it seemed quite painful.
"Okay, you could've told us about this like, I don't know maybe a month ago," Paige looked angry as she spoke.
"Why did they send you back then if you weren't fully trained?" I asked the questioned that had been bothering me for a bit.
Chris paused for a moment as if trying to think so how to answer the questioned. For a second I thought I was going to get told to mind my own business, "I was leading the resistance at the time," he said instead.
"Wow, I must have arrived just after you left then," I said softly thinking back to when I had first joined up with the resistance.
"Speaking of powers what the hell did you do back there?" Phoebe questioned looking very suspiciously at me.
"What no thank you?" I replied sarcastically, trying to get out of answering. Both Paige and Phoebe shot me a look which told me I was not getting away with that, "Okay then, it's my ability. I can take someone else's powers and use them against them, and hold them still. It's useful when fighting demons."
"I bet. Well, we're not gonna be fighting demons for a while," Phoebe explained.
"Wait why?" Chris questioned looking completely confused.
Just then Piper's voice echoed from the kitchen, "Can somebody please fold the towels in the dryer when it's done?"
"That's why," Phoebe said pointing to the kitchen.
Piper walked out carrying Wyatt in one arm and her purse in the other, "I put a casserole in the oven, you can check it in about an hour or so. I will be at the club if you need me. Have fun!" She smiled brightly before leaving.
"That is very annoyingly chipper," I muttered under my breath as the door shut.
"Oh my god, she is so sad," Phoebe said softly.
Paige looked at her in confusion, "Sad? Where are you getting sad from?"
"How about this, three more demons, then we can talk about taking a little break," Chris bargained.
"What do you have a quota or something?" Paige questioned sarcastically.
"Look, I've already told you this before. I know from future knowledge that a demon is gonna come after Wyatt. These are all pre-empted strikes," He shrugged.
"Well that does make sense," I muttered, both Paige and Phoebe shot me a look which I knew I had seen from their children in the future.
"Okay, look, we like you a lot already but we have been doing this a lot longer than you have. Trust me, you have to pace yourself and you gotta let us have a life," Phoebe explained before looking at her watch, "Oh speaking of which, I have to go get ready for my lunch date."
"Oh I didn't know your boss was back in town," Paige commented as Phoebe stood up.
"No, it's not with Jason, it's with Chad, the DJ, who I'm not really interested in," Phoebe explained.
I looked up confused, "Then why are you?"
"Two demons, how about that? Two," Chris questioned still trying to persuade them.
"No, Chris. And especially not until we figure out what's wrong with Piper and more importantly Piper's powers," Phoebe snapped at him.
"I swear, Leo did something to her before he left," Paige said thinking out loud.
"Leo is he around in this time?" I questioned before shutting up at the look Chris gave me.
"You know what? I think it's about time we orb him down here and ask him!" Phoebe said completely ignoring my statement.
"I don't think that's possible," Chris said apologetically.
"Well, then make it possible," Phoebe snapped, "Look, even if he doesn't care about Piper as his wife, as an Elder he at the very least should care about what happened to her powers."
"I can't," Chris said quietly.
"Yeah, you can. You just go up there and tell him to get his butt down here," Paige argued back.
"That's not why I can't," Chris snapped before taking a calming breath, "Look, I didn't wanna tell you this because I didn't want to worry you two but...Leo's missing."
"What?!" Phoebe questioned.
"Missing? How long?" Paige questioned at the same time.
"Since the last time you saw him," Chris confessed, "Anyway, the elders think he's been kidnapped."
"By whom?" Phoebe asked looking very worried.
I had to remember this was a time when Phoebe and Paige actually got along with Leo. This wasn't the Leo I knew of in the future who stayed up in the clouds to avoid helping his family, "That's gotta be some powerful magic to take an elder," I pointed out.
Chris nodded, "Yes, well the elders are looking into it," He said as if he wanted to change the subject. I couldn't help the feeling that he knew something that he wouldn't tell us.
"You probably should go and tell Piper about this," I pointed out to Paige and Phoebe, who nodded before orbing over to P3. I turned to face Chris, "So what do they know about the future?"
"Nothing, I don't want to change it in a way I don't understand," Chris explained.
"So they don't even know about…" I began to ask.
"Wyatt?" Chris finished my sentence, "No I didn't think it was the best way to get them to trust me."
I nodded my head agreeing with that, "I get that, I guess, I just expected them to know, or to realise what he was like."
"He is just a baby right now," Chris explained, before changing the subject, "Why were you fighting a demon without backup if you belong to the resistance anyway?"
"I wasn't trying to," I argued back, ignoring the look of disbelief Chris shot me as I continued, "I was stealing a grimoire from a warlock when I got caught, it took me a little while but I escaped and ended up at the Charmed one museum, and I found the piece of paper with the spell on it so I just read it. Didn't realise it would mean I would end up here, I just wanted to get out of there."
Chris nodded, "How's the resistance doing?" He asked reluctantly.
I frowned remembering back to what I had left, "Not well, we lost three people last month and two more deflected to the other side, it's why I was on my own, there aren't enough of us to do everything as it is. He keeps picking us off one by one and there is nothing powerful enough to stop him. I figure that why you were sent back?"
Chris nodded, "We knew that something happened around this time to make Wyatt change evil, a demon did something but we didn't know what. I was sent back here to put a stop to it. Do you know what happened to…"
Before Chris could finish his question Paige and Phoebe entered again, "Piper has completely lost it. We need to find Leo," she explained before running upstairs and coming back down with some maps and what looks like a man's shirt.
"Take it your scrying?" I questioned as Chris just stared out of the window lost in his own thoughts.
Paige nodded and Phoebe came back in, "Where exactly are you trying to find Leo? Jupiter?"
"Well, when an Elder gets kidnapped, they're probably not gonna just take him to Chinatown, right? I think everything is game, even the cosmos," Paige explained.
"Don't you need something to focus better?" I questioned from where I was sitting.
Paige held up the shirt, "I've got one of his plaid shirts."
"Isn't there anything more special than that?" I asked in confusion knowing that to scry you usually needed something pretty important.
"Leo loved those shirts, his entire closet's full of them," Paige argued back.
I shrugged knowing I wasn't going to make her change her mind. Phoebe suddenly turned to Chris, "What's your problem?"
Chris looked around confused, "Huh?"
"You're nervous, I can feel it," Phoebe explained.
I looked at her in confusion, "You know what he's feeling now?"
"She gets vibes," Paige explained.
Phoebe walked over to Chris, "I just think you guys should be focusing on helping Piper, not Leo," He explained.
Phoebe gave us a smug look, "Hey, finding Leo could help us with Piper," Paige argued.
"Well, then you better find another way because you are not gonna find him," Chris snapped and was greeted by silence. My suspicion began to grow even more than before, "I mean, you haven't found him yet, have you? I'm telling you, you've just got to leave it up to the Elders, alright? Just let it go."
"Let it go?" Paige questioned in disbelief, "He's Wyatt's father."
"And our brother-in-law," Phoebe continued.
"Ex-brother-in-law. Look, I'm just trying to get you two to focus on your sister here. That's all. Because with her powers messed up, you guys are all at risk," Chris said trying to make excuses for his behaviour.
"He's right you know. If a demon attacks right now you're vulnerable and they will not resistant to take advantage of that," I explained, in a calmer way than everyone else was.
Paige looked at Phoebe, "They're right."
Phoebe nodded, "I know. But if Leo did do something to block Piper's pain, how do we unblock it without him?"
Paige smiled getting an idea, "A magical laxative."
"Nice," I commented trying not to laugh, while Phoebe pulled a face of disguised.
"But think about it. If we can write a spell to help her remember her pain, I don't know, it could even help us find Leo," Paige explained, Phoebe picked up the phone and began to dial a number, "Who are you calling? Spells-R-Us?"
"No, I'm calling the Bayview Cafe. I'm gonna cancel my lunch date with Chad, which I'm already late for," Phoebe explained before beginning a conversation on the phone.
"Thanks," I hear Chris whisper next to me.
"What for?" I asked.
"Sticking up for me," Chris said quietly back.
I smiled at him, "We can sort this together."
"Huh! He stood me up," Phoebe yelled in frustration.
Chris just looked confused, "Wait, weren't you just calling to cancel on him?"
"Yeah, but I called him. That's cancelling. He called the restaurant. That's standing up," Phoebe explained. While Paige and I nodded in agreement Chris still looked completely bewildered, "This doesn't make any sense, I don't understand. He liked me, he really liked me, I felt it."
"Well, um, excuse me, it didn't seem like your heart was in it anyway," Paige said trying to get back to what they needed to do, Phoebe headed for the door, "Where are you going? We have a spell to write."
"And I have a DJ to grill," Phoebe yelled back as she walked out of the door.
I turned to look at Chris, "Are they always like this?" Chris just nodded back, "Then you need all the help you can get."
I know it has been far too long for this story and I'm sorry but I'm back writing it again so the next chapter will be out soon I promise.
Until next time
