Before the song starts, we go to a desktop computer screen that gives us a 16-bit image of the original Digital Monsters logo, which transforms into the 15th Anniversary logo. We zoom out to reveal that the logo is actually wallpaper for the screen. Someone using the mouse (arguably one of the characters) double clicks on a file that reads "デジモンワールドツアー [Digimon World Tour] OP 2". That opens Windows Media Player. The video goes full-screen.
The video (and opening sequence proper) starts as we zoom down Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. The camera slows down and moves to the side to see two convertibles driving down the road. One is a Ferrari California driven by Greg (with Marcus, Thomas, and Anya as passengers, Anya in the shotgun position). The other is a BMW M6, driven by Matt (with T.K., Kari, and Rika as passengers, T.K. in the shotgun position). The camera then rotates to face the California vanity plates (the BMW marked with OLDSCHL, the Ferrari marked with NEWSCHL). As they speed up, we're left in the dust with the Digimon World Tour logo.
Come on
Come on
Come on
Come on
The band is recording as usual, when their Digivices go off (ruining the take, much to Kazuki and the engineers' collective dismay). They put their instruments down, run outside, and drive to the scene. It looks like a random Mega-level Digimon, so the gang summons their Digimon and use their Digivice ic5 Bursts to bring them up to Mega-level.
I look around, unsatisfied
At what they're giving me
But then I think to myself
"Is there someone else,
Oh, who feels the same as me?"
Do you feel the same, baby?
Lord Bagra appears on the screen with a menacing look. Blastmon, Tactimon, and Laylamon appear as well, and a new enemy is added: AxeKnightmon, Bagramon's brother. All of them are overshadowed by the dangerous Dragomon. The agents engage in combat with their Mega-level Digimon (the partner Digimon taking out the larger enemy Digimon while the humans fight off swarms of hostile Rookie or Champion Digimon). T.K. and Kari use their Crest powers to cause miracles, with Seraphimon and Ophanimon in the background. Marcus summons the GeoGrey Sword, which ShineGreymon uses.
When my back is broken
When the mountain moves away
All the dreams and promises
That we give
We give away
Sometimes you kick
And sometimes you get kicked
And sometimes you kick
And sometimes you get kicked (Yeah!)
We see Commander Sampson go toe to toe with the United Nations Security Council. Matt and company run down a road alongside their Digimon, replicating the running shot from Zero Two. We get more combat footage, along with generic scenes of each of the Digimon and humans.
(Oh oh oh)
(Ah ah ah)
AncientGarurumon and ShineGreymon combine their attacks, while the scene changes to a group shot of the DigiDestined (including the original DigiDestined, Marcus, Rika, Thomas, Greg, and Anya) and Commander Sampson against a starry, Hollywood-esque background. The scene freezes there.
Sometimes you kick
And sometimes you get kicked
And sometimes you kick
And sometimes you get kicked
Sometimes you kick
And sometimes you get kicked
