Chapter 5-Souls for sale

Hey guys, another day, another chapter. So I have been busy with university stuff which seems to be taking over my every thought at the moment, not good, I'm hoping to start writing more readily at the beginning of June when my exams finish! Anyway let me know what you think by reviewing. I don't know Charmed, but Cassie is my creation. Hope you enjoy

When Paige and Phoebe arrived back they were a little worse for wear, we ended up in the dining room with Paige flicking through the book of shadows while Phoebe just relaxed against the chair, "You could have been kill you know that? Huh? What were you thinking?" Chris ranted loudly.

"We were thinking of finding Leo, which we actually did if that matters to you," Paige argued back.

"What was up with that skirt he was wearing?" Phoebe questioned from her seat.

Paige shrugged, "At least the skirt wasn't plaid."

Phoebe laughed while Chris looked between them in anger, "I don't believe this. It's like neither of you guys are taking this very seriously," Chris complained before the bulldog barked at him, "Hey, do you mind?"

"Well, I can't help it if he doesn't like you. Hey, you were supposed to take him back home anyway," Paige pointed out.

"Owner wasn't in," I explained, "Don't get him started again."

The dog growled loudly, "Hey, Oscar, lay down," Paige ordered, Oscar walked over and lay down beside Paige.

"Aw, look, Paige, I think he likes you," Phoebe teased.

"Yeah, great, don't tell me you can read his feelings now too," Paige rolled her eyes.

Phoebe shook her head, "No, but if I start licking your toes, run. Where's Piper?"

"We put her in her room hoping that it might jog her memories," I explained before leaning over Paige's shoulders, "Think you've found the page," I said before reading out loud, "Valkyries, a powerful race of demigoddesses who scout the battle grounds for dying warriors. Then take their souls to Valhalla where they prepare them for the final world battle."

"Valkyries, huh?" Paige questioned.

"Does that mean they're good?" Phoebe asked.

"How can they be good if they've got Leo?" Paige shot back.

"Look, why don't you guys concentrate on helping Piper and I'm going to go fill in the Elders and see what they wanna do," Chris said trying to change the subject back to Piper.

"But Chris, we don't have time for that. We have to go back for Leo now," Phoebe pointed out.

"Why? It doesn't sound like he's in any sort of trouble," Chris shrugged.

"He only stuck in a cage," Paige argued back.

"They tried to kill us when we tried to save him," Phoebe agreed.

"I kind of agree with Chris," I said softly, "You need a proper plan before heading back there."

"He may be the only way we have to save Piper," Phoebe said simply, leaving no room for argument.

Chris sighed heavily, "You can't orb into Valhalla undetected. The only way to get there safely is with a Valkyries pendant. But that still won't get you close enough to Leo. He's too well guarded now."

"How do you know all this?" Paige asked suspiciously.

Chris looked a bit helpless so I decided to speak up, "The Valkyries have crossed paths with the resistances in the future."

"I can get you the pendants but the only way to get close to Leo is by proving to the Valkyries you're one of them," Chris finished.

"How are we supposed to do that?" Phoebe questioned.

"Easy, just arrive with a warrior's soul," Chris said back with a shrug.

"Where are we supposed to find a warrior's soul?" Phoebe questioned.

"Beats me," Chris shot back before orbing out.

Phoebe and Paige turned to face me, "You need someone who is honourable and works hard and in a helping profession, like a solider or a…"

"Police officer," Phoebe finished with a smile, before grabbing Paige and my hands, "Take us to Darryl."

We orbed in down the street from Darryl and Paige waved at him. Darryl quickly made his way over, "Are you out of your mind? What are you doing here?" He led us further down the alley, "And who is this?"

"I'm Cassie, I'm…" I trailed off not sure exactly what I could say.

"She's a friend of Chris's," Phoebe finished, "Darryl we need your help."

"Does this have anything to do with you asking Sheila to watch Wyatt? She just called," Darryl questioned.

"Yes, actually, but we don't have a lot of time. It's about Leo," Phoebe said quickly.

"You found him?" Darryl said hopefully.

"Yep, we did," I informed him, "And we need your help to save him."

"Sure, you know that, just ask, anything," Darryl said happily.

"Great! We just need to borrow your soul for a couple of hours," Phoebe smiled back.

"Yeah, we'll get it right back," Paige continued.

"It perfectly safe, really. Your body will just slip into a coma and as long as we get your soul back in time…" Phoebe explained.

"Which we will," Paige assured him.

"You'll be fine, just a little headache, that's all. What do you say?" I asked.

There was a moment silence before Darryl spoke, "You're serious, aren't you?"

"Please, Darryl, it's the only way we can save Leo," Paige said softly.

"No! I ain't doing it," Darryl argued.

"Darryl, please," Phoebe pleaded.

"No, absolutely not! Listen, I love Leo like a brother but you know, there's a limit to what you ask me to do," Darryl explained before turning and walking away muttering to himself as he went.

Paige threw a potion at him and we watched as he's body dropped to the ground leaving just his soul walking along, "Uh, Darryl?"

"What?" Darryl questioned turning around, Paige pointed down to his body on the ground, "Oh, that's just great," Darryl said before Phoebe opened the small bottle and it sucked in Darryl soul. She put a lid on it.

"I hope this works," I said softy looking down at the bottle.

"Okay, we got the…" Phoebe began as she orbed in before stopping short when she saw Piper, "Oh my god, what did you do to Piper?"

"You turned her into a Valkyrie," I said to Chris.

"Convinced her she's one too. Actually it wasn't that hard really, considering the fact that her mind is basically a blank," Chris explained.

"But why?" Paige questioned confused.

"Because you might need the power of three to get Leo out of Valhalla and this is the only way you'll get her in Valhalla," Chris explained.

"Well, if Piper ever gets her memory back, she's gonna kill you," Paige explained.

"Why?" Chris questioned.

"Because she hates wearing those costumes as much as we do," Phoebe explained as Paige nodded along with her.

"Yeah, well in that case you're going to kill me too," Chris said holding out two more Valkyrie's necklaces. I watched Paige's eyes widen.

"How did you get these?" I questioned Chris taking my one in my hand and looking at it. It was a real Valkyrie necklace, they couldn't be faked.

"I just did," Chris said with a shrug trying to avoid attention.

I handed it over to Paige before pulled him over to the side leaving Phoebe and Paige talking to the newly Valkyrie Piper, "I know stuff about Valkyrie, the only way to get one of their necklaces is to remove it from their dead bodies. They never give them up."

"Just don't ask," Chris snapped at me his voice short.

"You will do anything to stop the future from happening won't you?" I summered.

"Anything," Chris repeated solemly.

I nodded my head, my respect level for him going skyward, before placing the necklace around Paige's neck and watching as it glowed before she was transformed into a Valkyrie. I then turned to Phoebe, and did the same. I had to stop myself laughing at the outfits they all were wearing, "You look…"

"Stupid, we know," Phoebe finished off for me so I didn't have to think of a way not to offend her.

"Well get into the Valkyrie camp get Leo and get back out as quickly as possible and we'll see you on the other side," I smiled back at them, as they created a portal and walked through it into Valhalla.
