Chapter 6-Valkyrie Vixen's
Hey guys, I have finally wrote a new chapter! I am so sorry that this story has been on hold for so long. I lost my inspiration for it, but it seems to have come back again. Anyway I'll let you get on with reading. I don't own Charmed, but Cassie is my OC. Enjoy.
It didn't take as long as I thought it would for the girls to arrive back with Leo. Chris and I walked into the living room to greet them, Chris as I had noticed happened often was moaning, "Geez, it's about time. I was starting to get wor..." He began to say.
I interrupted him before he could get any further, "Where's Piper?"
Before anyone had a chance to reply Leo had practically jumped on Chris, punching him hard in the face, "You son of a bitch!" he yelled as he pushed him against the wall, "Why'd you do it?"
"Do what?" Chris asked confused.
Apparently that wasn't the right answer as Leo grabbed him and threw him across the room, "Leo, stop it!" Paige yelled at him.
Chris tried to orb out but Leo grabbed him and threw him into the cabinet causing everything to come crashing down onto the floor. Before Leo could make another move I grabbed hold of his arm focusing my abilities on leaving him immobile, "God it's been a long time since I've done this," I muttered as Leo kept trying to flinch away but finding himself unable to.
"Who the hell are you?" Leo grinded out through his teeth.
"Cassie McCathy, now you gonna stop hitting him or am I going to have to take away your powers as well as your ability to move?" I spat back focusing hard.
"What is wrong with you? You been playing Gladiator too long?" Paige questioned angrily.
Chris slowly got up, "You didn't tell them did you?" Leo questioned him.
"Tell us what?" Phoebe asked more calmly.
"That he was the last one to see me. Right afterwards I was mysteriously trapped in Valhalla," Leo pointed out.
Chris looked put out at the accusation, "Oh, so what, that makes me responsible? Is that what you're saying?" I could tell almost immediately that he was lying. He had had everything to do with the trapping.
"Okay, why would Chris do that?" Paige questioned.
"Why else? To get rid of me," Leo said looking like if I wasn't holding him back he would be punching Chris by now.
"You know that makes no sense right?" I injured myself into the conversation.
"Doesn't it? He manipulated things so that I could become an Elder. Forced me out of the house, didn't he?" Leo shot back.
"So you could save the world," Chris argued.
"Alright, Leo, I know how upset you are. And by know, I mean, I literally know. But you're way off base here. Chris has been the model Whitelighter since you've been gone. He's done nothing but good," Phoebe pointed out standing in front of Leo so he could talk to her face to face.
"He's sent us after so many demons, if anything, he's been too good," Paige said.
"He's the reason they could save you," I pointed out.
"You're welcome," Chris butted in sarcastically.
"Chris, shut up," I snapped back at him, watching Leo carefully.
"Where'd you get the pendants?" Leo questioned.
Chris just stood there gasping at him, while Phoebe scowled, "Leo!"
"Alright, alright, I'll let it go for now," Leo said visibly more calm, I released my hold on his arm allowing him to move again, but stayed close just in case he once again decided to go for Chris, "So where's Wyatt can I see him?"
I found myself subconsciously wincing at the name, I had to keep reminding myself that Wyatt was just a baby here, "No, you can't, he's staying with Sheila until we can figure out how to rescue Piper," Paige said her voice still hard with anger.
"Which is going to be hard because she doesn't want to be saved," Phoebe pointed out.
"What exactly happened in Valhalla?" I asked.
"We got Leo out but Piper began to remember and she then just shut down on us and pushed us away," Paige explained.
"So nothing good then?" I summarized.
"Well, if we're going to save her it's going to have to be as witches, not as Valkyries," Paige said looking at Phoebe, together they pulled off their Valkyrie necklaces and returned to their normal selves, "book of shadows?"
"Got it," Phoebe said and we all made our way up into the attic.
It didn't take long for Paige to find the page she was after on memory spells, something which Phoebe had suggested. I chose to sit as far away from the book as possible, knowing that the evil that laid within my demon side was enough to get it to reject me completely.
"I don't understand. Why don't we just storm the place and find her? It's not like we don't know where she is," Chris complained.
"Because they'll be expecting you, that's why. It'll be suicide," Leo argued back.
"We got you out safely, didn't we?" Chris shot back.
"But it cost us Piper," Leo pointed out.
I looked over at Phoebe, she looked like she was about to explode, "Guys stop you're not helping right now," I said to them calmly, watching as Phoebe seemed to settle a bit more. She gave me a smile of thanks, "How's it going?" I questioned Paige.
"I am almost done. Um, I don't mean to burden you with my emotions but I don't quite see how reversing the memory spell's gonna help," Paige said confused.
"Piper needs to believe she's a Valkyrie because it's too painful for her to be herself, way too painful, believe me. I almost passed out back there," Phoebe said softly.
I nodded, "Well, then believing she's a Valkyrie is the perfect option. To serve the greater good they're always in control. And they don't have to deal with pain or loss."
"Well, that's why we have to make Piper believe she's Piper again. Because if we don't get her back mentally, it won't matter if we get her back physically," Phoebe shrugged.
"Okay, but Piper wasn't exactly back before the spell either," Paige pointed out.
"What do you mean?" Leo questioned.
"Well, that little magical whammy you performed on her kind of, um, backfired," Paige said putting it lightly.
"Yeah, you see, after you left, Piper was really..." Phoebe said trying to find the words.
"Chipper. Yeah. Incessantly, increasingly, annoyingly chipper," Paige finished.
"I was supposed to make her feel less pain, I guess with me not around to pull it back a little bit, she got happier and happier," Leo said looking between the sisters.
"Uh, no, psychotically chipper," Paige shook her head.
Chris clapped sarcastically, "Way to go."
"Not helping Chris," I replied back simply, rolling my eyes.
Phoebe held her head in her hands, "Oh, I swear my new power is going to drive me crazy."
"You'll get the handle of it, just be patient," Leo said calmly.
"Are you sure? Because I remember Prue almost being destroyed that time she was an empath," Phoebe pointed out.
"Well, she wasn't supposed to become one, you are. Maybe all this with Piper has made it happen a little sooner but you can handle it, I know you can," Leo assured her.
"I just wish I knew how to turn it on and off. I feel like I'm at the mercy of everyone else's feelings and it sucks," Phoebe complained.
"Bright side? Maybe you can actually find out how Jason feels about you," Paige said brightly.
"Yeah, but what if it's not good news?" Phoebe said.
"Then you dump him before he dumps you," Paige smiled as Phoebe laughed, "Uh, I think the spell is finished," she said just as the doorbell rang and Oscar began to bark manically, "Oh, great."
"You got a dog?" Leo questioned.
"No I got a career," Paige replied back.
"Sore subject, don't ask," I said before Leo could open his mouth.
Oscar decided to start barking again, "Alright, I'm coming," Paige said as her and Phoebe went down the stairs. It was a few seconds before Phoebe called us down the stairs. Leo took one look at Darryl before he began to heal him.
"Feeling better?" Leo questioned as the bruising disappeared.
"Yeah. Thanks, it's good to have you back," Darryl smiled.
"Thanks for helping me get back," Leo replied.
"Ah, don't mention it," Chris injected into the conversation.
I hit him in the leg giving him a look, "How long after the girls left did the warriors show up?"
"Not long, maybe a couple of seconds," Darryl stated.
"They must have followed us from Valhalla," Phoebe said looking at Paige.
"Great, that means they're after us now," Paige replied back sarcastically.
"Except they didn't hang out long enough to ask me where to find you. Granted I was looking through swollen eyes but they just seem lost and confused," Darryl explained.
"So what, they just took off?" Chris and I both asked at the same time.
"Thank goodness they did because…" Darryl began to say.
"We should have never put you in that situation. We should have come up with another way," Phoebe interrupted.
"Forget it. You know, it worked," Darryl said.
"Yeah, for you maybe. What about the next poor guy that runs into those warriors? They're trained killers," Chris pointed out.
Oscar jumped onto Paige's lap as she spoke, "Yeah, but they only kill evil."
I shook my head, "Chances are they're confused. Nothing is as simple as black and white in this world, we need to find them cause they'll kill anyone who they think is a threat."
"That shouldn't be too hard, they're gonna stand out. Even to San Francisco," Darryl stated.
"Which is why we need to move fast. If they're exposed, so are the Valkyries," Leo said.
"You're awfully forgiving considering everything they put you through," Paige said confused.
"They still have a noble purpose to perform. Keeping their secret is key to them fulfilling it. Besides, it's not the Valkyries fault that I ended up there," Leo said glancing at Chris as he did.
"Which brings us back to the warriors," Chris said changing the subject.
"And let's not forget about Piper," Phoebe added.
"Maybe we should split up. You should go to the police station. They're gonna show up on the radar screen in a big way," Leo said looking at Darryl.
Just then his pager started beeping, "You know what, the office's paging me anyway."
"Alright, make sure you're the first cop on the scene, we might need you to buy us some time," Leo stated.
"Okay," Darryl nodded before walking out of the door.
Phoebe was the next to move, "Uh, maybe I should go to the newspaper and do the same thing."
"Good idea. Paige…" Leo began turning to face her.
"I should take Oscar home before I get fired," Paige said patting the dog affectionately.
"You're kidding, right?" Leo questioned.
"No, I promised the temp agency I'd have him back in the morning and, huh, it's the morning. Listen, before you say anything, you've been gone, some things have changed and one of those things is that I am determined no more than ever to have a life separate from being a witch," Paige ranted.
"Fine. But now?" Leo questioned.
"Yeah. I've already done the reversal spell, can't do it without Piper and we don't know how to get her, so, I'm just an orb away if you need help," Paige shrugged before walking out of the room.
"Paige…" Leo began to speak.
"Let her go. It might seem silly to you but it's important to her, I know," Phoebe interrupted.
"See, it helps to be an empath," Chris pointed out.
"No, it helps to be a sister. And while we're on that subject, we have to come up with another plan to get Piper out of Valhalla," Phoebe stated grabbing her bag.
"She's right. Let's go," Leo said grabbing Chris by the arm and orbing him out in front of Phoebe and me.
"Well, that isn't going to end well," I said.
Okay, so not the greatest chapter in the world but I'm just getting back into the swing of things so give me a little bit of time.
Until next time
