Alexa POV

We got about 14 miles out from the service station before we ran into major road works, the top speed we managed was about 15 mph as we chugged along, the smell of car exhaust filling the air. "I told you we should have turned down that farm road." Zach grumbled for the sixth time as I change back from 2nd gear to 1st and lightly tapped the accelerator, we moved a few metres forward.

"Good for you." I groaned, putting the clutch down yet again as we came to a stand still.

"Would you two both just stop." Bex said, throwing the map down on her knees in defeat. "We're stuck now, and we won't get to the others for at least an hour, but at least we're safe and there's a turning a few yards up a head." As soon as we said those words I sighed, why did she have to say that? Something bad was bound to happen now.

"Erm... I had to be the barer of bad news Bex, but we aren't." Cammie gestured for me to look in the wing mirror and I wished I hadn't. Blue and the other guy were literally in the car right behind us, so close that all they had to do was roll forward an inch and hit our tail gate. I'd spotted them following us about 6 miles back, but it was useless to do anything about it down the motor way, so we'd bid our time and hoped the roads would stay clear.

"You have got to be kidding me." Seth swore, locking and loading his gun at his feet, out of sight of any cars that might see. We inched forward more as the traffic progressed, it wasn't long till I could turn off and speed down that road like our lives depended on it. Which they did. "What do they think they're doing anyway, it isn't like the Circle to be public like that. Especially back at the service station."

"I think they're getting desperate." I said, biting my lip nervously, my hand itching to change gear. "Maybe they know we're almost done running?" Zach nodded thoughtfully in the back, casting a quick glance at them from the corner of his eye. They were black eyed, red faced, and angry as hell. I wouldn't have put it past them to unload their guns into the back of the car right now. There was a gap in the traffic where the turning was, I had my eyes fixed on it and tried to time my move perfectly.

"Something tells me we aren't getting the deposit back on this car." Cammie said only moments before I kicked into 5th gear and revved the engine, driving straight for the clearing as the car behind it was closing the gap. We narrowly made it, followed by honking for horns and angry yelling. But we weren't the only ones who made it.

Now we were on a desolate back road, Blue had no problem opening his window and leaning out, his 45. glistening in the midday sun. "Everybody get out!" Zach pulled Cammie's head done as a bullet went through the back window and out the front, glass shattered everywhere.

I put my foot down on the gas, swerving recklessly around each and every turn in the road. But it wasn't enough to loose them. The second Circle member at the wheel was clearly a much better driver than I was, and he was vastly more determined to steer us off the road. Every once in a while their car would hit the back of ours, lurching us all forward. I prayed to god this thing came with air bags.

After the next big turn that send our right back wheel dangerously over the edge of a drop in some trees the road leveled out straight, giving us a chance to try and put some distance between. "Zach!" Seth shouted over the sound of the next gun shot that barely missed my face, "remember that night up in Iceland?" The rest of us present didn't know what they were taking about but Zach seemed to. He took the second gun that Seth had and undid his seat belt.

"What the hell?" Bex demanded, frantically looking between Zach and the map, trying to find the best route to where we need to go. Zach spun in his chair and kicked at the back window, shattering it completely till there was a large gap with cold air rushing in. While the passengers in the car behind us were busy trying to see past the glass, Seth climbed over the back seats and into the boot, opening it from the inside. I didn't even know you could do that in this car.

It didn't take long for Zach and Seth to get into their position, what ever that was, I decided it wasn't such a good idea to be looking back whilst driving at these speeds. I could hear a series of gun shots fired from both cars, and several shots hitting the boot of the car. Each time I winced, thinking I'd hear Seth cry out that he'd been shot, but instead he called: "I'm out of bullets!" To which Zach said he was too.

We'd put some distance between the other car, but it was a much faster car than ours, and nicer if I thought about it. The sleek black jaguar zigzagged to avoid a dip in the road and almost lost control of the car, but they didn't stop coming.

"Car chases are so much better in the movies!" Cammie yelled, clicking her own gun and firing the last three rounds she had at the tires, one of them went and the jag almost flipped over, two wheels off of the ground.

"Bex how far?" I asked, taking a very sharp left turn at her say so and heading down an even rockier and narrower road. We drove up a steep dirt mound and practically flew off the top of it, crashing hard back onto the ground and briefly through a field of long grass till I managed to turn it back to the road.

"Not long now, it shouldn't be too far." Bex wheezed, gripping her still healing wound. Allowing myself a quick glance I could see a pool of blood forming through her bandages.

"Bex!" I said worriedly, alerting Cammie of what had just happened.

"We have to loose them." Cammie looked on the verge of punching the only unbroken window next to her in frustration.

"Good plan." I said dryly, taking one hand off of the wheel and checking my own gun was fully loaded. "Take the wheel?" Cammie gaped, unable to respond as I fully let go of the wheel and opened my door. She leaped forward and took it just as it began to go left.

"Alexa!" Seth yelled to me, watching as I swung out of the door, one foot on the cup holder just under the handle to open the smashed window and the other on my seat. With one hand gripping the frame of the door I leaned out, arching my back and lining up my target, right arm outstretched fully with my gun loaded.

Blue took a shot as the other guy tried to get closer to the car, but with one wheel out they were finding it hard to drive straight. My hear was pounding as the wind tore as my hair and clothes, rocking me from side to side. I fired 2 shots one directly after the other at the driver, who bent to avoid them, bullet holes in the head rest behind. He wasn't so lucky when I fired again, he let go of the wheel in pain and held his bleeding shoulder. The car went off into the grass.

Seth climbed over the seat past a steel faced Cammie, fully focused on not losing control of the car. He grabbed the waist band of my pants and a handful of my shirt, pulling my back into the car and on top of him in the back seat. Cammie took this opportunity to take the drivers seat and slam shut the open door beside her. "Thanks." I panted, realising suddenly that my legs were either side of his hips as he sat awkwardly in the middle seat. I rolled off of him to where Cammie had previously been sitting and grinned at the sight of the large mansion up ahead.
