Closing Sequence Theme:
"Best Day Of My Life"
Written by Aaron Accetta, Zachary Barnett, Shep Goodman, David Rublin, Matthew Sanchez, and James Shelley
Arranged by Kousuke Yamashita
Japanese Lyrics by Yūsuke
Japanese Version Performed by Nazo no Shino Unit Starmen
English Version Performed by American Authors feat. Doug Erholtz
On a hot summer night, at the Hollywood Bowl, the band American Authors starts playing. Walking up to the mic is the lead singer for this sequence, Doug Erholtz. In the audience, all the DigiDestined (including the Teenage Wolves, Maxwell and Candlemon, and the Obama girls and their Digimon) and their Digimon are hanging out in the rafters, dancing together.
I had a dream so big and loud
I jumped so high I touched the clouds
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh (Wo-o-o-o-o-oh)
I stretched my hands out to the sky
We danced with monsters through the night
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh (Wo-o-o-o-o-oh)
I howled at the moon with friends
And then the sun came crashing in
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh (Wo-o-o-o-o-oh)
But all the possibilities
No limits just epiphanies
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh (Wo-o-o-o-o-oh)
I'm never gonna look back
Whoa, I'm never gonna give it up
No, just don't wake me now
The scene transitions to a gigantic late-night pool party at Max's mansion, where American Authors and Doug are performing. Davis and Greg compete for the best cannonball, nearly throwing a sunglasses-and-bikini-clad Rika off her floating lounge. Juliet cooks steaks on the grill. Everyone looks like they're having a great time.
Oo-o-o-o-oo
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
Oo-o-o-o-oo
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
I hear it calling outside my window
I feel it in my soul (soul)
The stars were burning so bright
The sun was out 'til midnight
I say we lose control (control)
The scene moves back to individual shots of the humans and their Digimon as they establish their friendships and dance.
Oo-o-o-o-o
Finally, the scene moves to a giant map of the United States as the humans and Digimon dance all over it.
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
Oo-o-o-o-o
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
This is gonna be, this is gonna be, this is gotta be
The best day of my life
Everything is looking up, everybody up now
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-ife
As the sequence ends, they all strike poses on the map.
