I know it's been way too long and I apologise but stuff happens...this may well be the final chapter of the Stupid Laws series...Mrs Hudson finally has enough!Enjoy :)

Sherlock and John had been partaking in a ceasefire for an unspecified length of time. Each of them had plans of course but neither wanted to make the first move. It was becoming more and more tense each time a case was presented to them and the clients had begun to notice, as well as their friends.

"Everything all right boys? It seems a bit tense here today" said Mrs Hudson entering the upstairs rooms of Baker St.

"Yes Mrs Hudson...everything is just great"replied John while Sherlock stared suspiciously at him. "Sherlock thinks I'm planning something but he has no need to be worried."

Sherlock continued to stare in silence until Mrs Hudson turned to leave.

"Well you boys try and sort it out now or I'll have to split you up and I'd hate to do that." John raised his eyebrows but realised there was no point in trying to correct her anymore as she never listened.

As she made her way downstairs a smile spread across her face. She knew exactly what to do to to fix this situation. She got to work and phoned Lestrade to fill him in. Hopefully this would end the game once and for all and they coulld get back on track with real cases and problems.

The Sunday after she had organised everything and hoped she could pull it off. Mycroft had pitched in, of course, as he was only too happy to have his brother humiliated once last time. Mrs Hudson climbed the stairs, huffing and puffing as much as she could, well aware that Sherlock would notice the difference in her step. Reaching the door she found it open and a chair pulled out by the fireplace. And people thought he had no heart...

"Mrs Hudson, what seems to be the problem? Is it your hip again?" Sherlock began and she nodded in response, putting on a pained expression. Oh she was a good actress, had been for years.

"Yes dear it's been playing up again...the cold weather is playing havoc with it. Is John about...there is something I wanted to ask you..." Sherlock shrugged and told her he left a few hours previous.

"He should be back any minute though...its nearly time for his weekly blog check. His life runs like clockwork". They sat in silence for a few minutes before they heard John close the door downstairs. He made tea, as Sherlock hadn't offered and handed the cup to their landlady.

"What seems to be the problem Mrs Hudson?" he asked kindly.

"Oh nothing much John I was just wondering if you both could help me out with something with my hip being so bad." she asked making her voice sound weaker than normal.

Sherlock looked up from his hands and raised his eyebrows. It was his usual 'I'm not getting involved with anything personal' look but John stared back and said

"Of course we'll help you. What do you need?"

"Oh thank you dears that's very kind. Well I told my friend Kathleen I would help her on her fete stall at the church today but I don't think I'll be up to standing there all day. All you have to do is sell some fruits and vegetables for her. It won't be difficult and I'd really appreciate it." She smiled and knew that John would do anything to help her and in turn would drag the detective along with him.

As she predicted, two hours later the boys stood at the stall in the freezing cold while she sat in the warm of a local coffee shop, completely pain free, waiting for her trap to unfold.

"This is absolutely ridiculous John...why would anybody come out to this fete to buy anything? It's just a waste of money for something you could by cheaper in the shops" sulked Sherlock, picking at a loose strand in his glove.

"Its a way of raising money for the community Sherlock, everything is home-made or home-grown here. People have put a lot of effort in, and for once noone is trying to kill us." replied John, taking the moral route with his friend. They spent an hour selling Kathleen's fruit and veg. She had quite the variety, John noticed, and made a note to eat more healthily after today. A woman came up asking for some carrots, however, and he noticed there were none in sight. Sherlock bent down a pulled out a sealed box from under the table. It was full of carrots, which John thought was slightly weird as there had been none on the table all day.

"Here you go madam" Sherlock said as he passed over the carrots and took the money from her. She left smiling and the boys continued their discussion.

They didn't notice Mrs Hudson at first, or Lestrade walking towards them laughing. When they saw the pair of them together, they realised something was wrong.

"What have we done?"Sherlock turned to John "Surely Mrs Hudson wouldn't...she's too nice..." They both knew, however, that they had been duped by one of the sweetest people on the planet.

"Well boys it seems you've broken the law rather blatently" laughed Lestrade, taking out two pairs of handcuffs and motioning them to come forward.

"John Watson and Sherlock Holmes I am arresting you for selling carrots on a Sunday. You have the right to remain silent..." They turned to Mrs Hudson, hardly believing that she could have done something so sneaky to them.

"Well boys, who ever suspects the little old lady in the corner? Oh I am really gonna enjoy having Baker St to myself for a while. As far as I'm aware Scotland Yard take this crime pretty seriously and I know for a fact that a certain DI Lestrade really hates people who break the law in broad daylight with so many witnesses." As she said this several people waved in their direction, clearly in on the joke. Lestrade led the boys away, stilllaughing as he got to the station.

"Good old Mrs Hudson..who'd have though she had the cunning" was all he said as he closed the cell doors on the detective and the doctor. He walked away still chuckling...They had been well and truly beaten this time...

A/N: Well its been fun everyone. Thanks for all the support and suggestions during this story. It is by far my most popular and I have enjoyed keeping people entertained. Maybe I'll do another similar one if people want? Let me know and as always have a great day!
