Gabriel waited until he was sure they were out of range of little Cas' hearing before he spoke.
"Umm, Dean-o?" He said waiting for the other man to turn before continuing. "Look Crowley knows me as Loki and I think it would be a good idea to keep it that way." He finished.
"Why?" Dean asked in reply.
"Well I don't think letting the king of hell know I'm an archangel is the best plan do you?" He replied with a roll of his eyes.
Dean thought about this and realised that Gabriel was probably right. It would be good if they had a secret weapon against hell. So with that he nodded to Gabriel before commencing their route to get Crowley from his car.
Sam lay on his bed looking at the kid next to him, rather uncomfortable with the way Cas was stroking his hair, trying to think of something for them to talk about. Not that it seemed Cas needed to talk but it might just break the silence.
Castiel was glad that Gabriel thought he was big enough to help look after Sam even if he didn't want to leave his brother. He knew Gabriel had other duties. He was an archangel, but it didn't stop him missing him when he wasn't there. When he felt Gabriel leave the bunker he got worried, what if he didn't come back? What if he got hurt? With these thoughts Castiel stopped trying to help Sam and wrapped his arms around his knees and pulling his new coat over the top.
Sam was relieved that Cas had stopped with the stroking but when he looked at the angel he realised why.
"What's wrong Cas?" He asked cautiously.
"Gabriel has left. I don't like being alone." Castiel replied in a small voice.
"It's okay, he'll be back soon." Sam said hoping to cheer Cas up though not really knowing how.
"What if he gets hurt?" Castiel asked fearfully.
Sam closed his eyes at that. He really didn't know what to say. Dean would know. With that thought an idea came to him.
"He'll be fine Cas. He's with Dean. Now why don't you get my laptop? I've got something I want to show you." He replied with a smile for the baby angel.
Castiel was just about to ask what a laptop was when his eyes landed on the flat machine on Sam's desk and he knew that that was it. How he knew he had no clue but carefully he got off of Sam's bed and retrieved it.
"Here you are Sam." He said handing it to the man in the bed.
"Cheers Cas. Now you ever seen any cartoons?" He asked as he turned the laptop on.
Castiel tilted his head at Sam. What were cartoons?
Sam looked down at the angel and saw his confused look.
"I'll take that as a no. Okay come up here and I'll show you." He said patting the bed next to him.
Castiel scrambled back up onto the bed, excited about learning something new. He crawled over to where Sam had suggested and sat down nicely crossing his legs. He looked up at Sam and then when he pointed down to the laptop he averted his gaze to it.
On the screen he saw colourful pictures of different things. There was cars and people, animal and plants. He didn't understand stand what they were but they were very pretty. He turned to look at Sam with confusion. He wasn't sure what it was that he wanted him to do.
Sam looked down at the confused angel and resisted the temptation to roll his eyes.
"Which picture do you like the best Cas." He said with slight exasperation in his voice.
Castiel went back to looking at the pictures intently. He finally decided his favourite and pointed it out to Sam.
"that one." He said shyly.
"Okay then Finding Nemo it is." Sam replied clicking on the link and leaning back as the Disney movie started.
Castiel was transfixed by the moving pictures on the screen, and then they started telling a story. It was amazing. He completely forgot all about Sam in the joy of this story.
And Sam leaning back on his bed subconsciously wrapped his arm around Cas as he closed his eyes. Drifting off to sleep to the sound of the movie playing in the background.
Dean got Crowley out the trunk with a hood over his face and sound cancelling ear muffs over that so he couldn't see or hear where they were. In silence he and Gabriel marched the hooded, chained demon through the doors and down the stairs. It was there they were greeted with Kevin. Damn it, Dean thought as he realised he had forgotten to do something with the prophet while he was bringing in the demon.
Kevin looked up from where he was looking through some books to see Dean and Gabriel leading Crowley into the bunker. "No." he whispered. He was going to say more but Dean just shot him a look that told him to shut the hell up. So he did for now. But he was definitely going to be bringing this up later.
Gabriel and Dean got Crowley set up in the dungeon and Dean removed his hood.
"Hello b-" Crowley started but before he could get the words out Dean punched him in the face.
"Never get tired of doing that." He said turning to Gabriel who just raised his eyebrow at the hunter from his position in the shadows of the room. He didn't want to let Crowley know he was there just yet.
"Argh, homey" Crowley said looking round the room before turning back to Dean. "Where did you get this fantastic little tree house?" He continued with a quizzical look. He then turned to the figure in the shadows who he had assumed was Sam, but looking now he realised that he most definitely wasn't Moose. He also wasn't Kevin or Castiel. How intriguing, who had Squirrel roped in now. "And who might you be?" he asked the shadowy figure.
Dean turned to Gabriel not sure what he wanted to do, Gabriel just smirked and pulling out a lolly started eating it. If he was going to be Loki he had better behave the part.
"Right here's how its gonna go. You're going to give us the names of every demon on earth and the people there possessing." Dean said into the silence when Gabriel refused to answer Crowley's question.
"Am I? Doesn't sound like me." Crowley replied turning his attention back to Dean, though keeping an eye on the man in the corner. He looked familiar but he just couldn't put his finger on it.
"Sam told me how you broke down Crowley. When he was trying to cure you. I know a part of you was human and maybe it still is." Dean growled at the king of hell. He didn't have time for this shit.
"Blah, blah, boo, hoo done? This is what I know. I'm not giving you anything. Why would I? You have no leverage darling. You're not going to close the gates of hell because you didn't, you're not going to kill me cos you haven't, so what's left?" Crowley replied back smirking at Dean.
"That would probably be me." Gabriel replied walking out of the shadows still with the lolly in his mouth and a smirk on his lips. "Hello Crowley. Been a while." He said looking at the demon.
Crowley's mouth just dropped open. He couldn't believe it, what the hell was Loki of all people doing here? And why wasn't he chained up next to him? Why was Dean letting him have free rein? What the devil was going on now? He quickly pulled himself together. He needed to get information.
"So Squirrel, why is the pagan god of mischief walking free, whereas dear old me is chained to a chair?" Crowley asked Dean.
"Maybe because he hasn't tried to kill me and my brother," Dean replied then thought for a second before he added. "Recently." Gabriel had to stop himself from laughing at Dean's add-on. Only Dean would do that.
"But can you trust him?" Crowley argued back.
"More that I can trust you. Now give me those damn names." Dean growled back. He was fed up with this game.
"No. Do your worst trickster, you don't scare me." Crowley said to Gabriel with a sneer on his face.
"You know I really should." Gabriel replied amicably. And with that both Gabriel and Dean turned to leave, causing Crowley to become confused. What was going on?
Just as he was pushing the doors to the dungeon shut Dean turned to him with a smirk of his own on his face and said. "Have fun." Before slamming them shut, leaving Crowley in complete darkness.
