So here's the next chapter.

Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.

After Dean left a tense silence descended on the bunker, with Sam trying to will his body to heal quicker so he would be ready should his brother need back-up. Kevin was immersed in the tablet, trying to translate it all. Gabriel was searching through the men of letters books trying to find anything that would help with the spell that Metatron cast, not that he was very hopeful of the humans having much useful on enochian spells.

And Cas? Well he alternated from worried to childish wonder. He would smile and help Gabriel with his research enjoying the chance to help and learn new things one minute and the next he would be starring the wall with a frown marring his little face. His role was to help the righteous man, but how could be do that if he was stuck in the bunker and Dean was off a thousand miles away? He felt the need to protect Dean, though he didn't understand why. He was after all only a fledging, what he could do to protect the righteous man? It would be with these thoughts that he pulled himself back to the research that Gabriel had set him. If he couldn't physically go with Dean to help then hopefully he could with his research ability.

Things continued on this way, with Kevin getting the food for him and Sam, and Gabriel having healing sessions with the younger Winchester, he made sure not to ever use all his grace. Yes it would take longer for Sam to heal, but Gabriel was well aware that if Dean-o got into any trouble he was the only viable back up the hunter had. He thought Sam would be happier to recover slowly if it meant that Gabriel had enough juice to go rescue Dean if he needed it.

A day and a half after Dean left Sam was sleeping fretfully when his phone rang.

"Hello?" he said groggily as he answered it. Though when he heard Deans voice he came alert instantly.

"Hi boss." Dean spoke from the other end confusing Sam, when had Dean called him boss? Like ever? Then Dean continued talking and he understood that Dean needed cover from the military police. With that he went into supervisor FBI mode, getting Dean what he required from the locals.
Hanging up the phone he looked up to see Gabriel standing in the doorway smirking at him.

"Really? Agent Gabriel?" Gabriel asked.

"Shut up." Sam mumbled in reply as he fell back against his pillow looking at the archangel. "What do you want?" he asked grumpily.

"Just wondered who was on the phone." Gabriel replied with a shrug, not looking Sam in the eye.

"Why?" Sam asked, he was intrigued. Why was Gabriel so interested?

"Just wondered how Dean-o was doing." Gabriel finally replied crossing his arms daring Sam to say something.

Sam just shook his head. Did the angel really find it so hard to admit that maybe he was starting to like them? "He's fine." He answered closing his eyes thinking he should probably get some more sleep. The better to prepare himself to go after Dean if needed.

"Good. I'll let Castiel know." Gabriel replied leaving Sam to his rest and returning to the library where Castiel was waiting.

The bunker went back into it strangely quiet routine of research and resting until that was a phone in their box of phones started to ring. Kevin was on his own in the library as Gabriel had taken Cas to go play some game when it happened. Not really thinking about it he answered.

Gabriel was playing with Castiel when heard the phone ring. Though he wasn't really playing so much as mercilessly tickling the fledgling. As soon as he heard the ringing he stood and taking Cassie's hand walked back to the library to find Kevin standing there on the phone, with a look of horror on his face.

"Who was it?" Gabriel asked putting Castiel on a chair and turning his full attention on to Kevin.

"Some woman with a message for Sam and Dean." Kevin replied.

"What message?"

"Coordinates and a couple of names, saying if they don't save them they'll die." Kevin replied scared, he didn't know what was going on.

Gabriel thought for a moment then spoke. "Phone Dean tell him the message and give me the coordinates." with that Gabriel went to the room he shared with Castiel and grabbed the few things he owned, which now included a spare pair of clothes. He didn't want to waste energy cleaning his own. Going back into the library he grabbed some holy water and salt and threw them in the bag. He then turned to Kevin who had just got off the phone to Dean.

"So what did he say?" Gabriel asked. He needed to know if that idiot was going to do what he thought he probably was.

"He told me to look up knights of Hell." Kevin replied with a frown.

Gabriel just closed his eyes. A bloody knight of Hell, though he could only think of one who was left and Cain was defiantly not a woman. So there must be another around that he had missed. Great, just great. Turning to the prophet he spoke. "No you need to translate that tablet."

"But Dean said..."

"Dean said he wanted to know about knights of Hell right? Well I know more about them than any book in this place. My brother created the damn things." Gabriel cut in. he needed to get going.

"You know a way to kill one, permanently?" Kevin asked hopefully.

"Oh yeah." Gabriel replied pulling out his angel blade and checking it over.

"Umm okay." Kevin said. He wasn't sure if he really liked the look on Gabriel's face. It was cold and calculating, as if he was thinking of the best way to kill you.

"Gabriel where are you going?" Castiel suddenly spoke up. Fearful. First Dean left and now Gabriel had a bag packed too. Didn't they like him any more, was that why they were leaving?

"I have to go rescue Dean kiddo. He's got himself into a bit of trouble." Gabriel replied replacing his archangel blade up his sleeve.

As soon as Castiel heard Dean was in danger he ran out the room. Gabriel was confused, what was his little brother doing now. Castiel returned a minute later holding an angel blade of his own.

"No Cassie you are not coming with me." Gabriel stated firmly. No way was he taking Castiel out there in a fight with a knight of Hell.

Castiel nodded, he knew his brother and had expected this. "I know. But take this with you?" Castiel said holding his blade up to his brother. "That way a part of me will be helping keep you and Dean safe." Castiel stated as if it was obvious.

Gabriel didn't know what to say. Castiel was giving him his angel blade, which yes would come in handy, but an angel didn't just hand them over willingly, usually you had to pry them from a dead angels hand. With a sincere smile on his face he bent down to his brother wrapping his hand around Casitel's on the handle.

"I'll be honoured to have your blade with me Castiel." he said slowly taking it out of the child's hand and slipping it up his other sleeve.

"You will come back won't you Gabriel?" Castiel asked as he got his bag from the table.

"You bet little one. You can't get rid of me that easily." Gabriel replied with a smirk and wink at his brother before walking out of the bunker door.

"I hope so." Castiel whispered wrapping his arms around himself. He hoped both Gabriel and Dean returned, but until they did he had a job to do, he thought throwing his shoulders back. He was now the only angel in the bunker which meant he had to protect and look after Sam and Kevin. That was his purpose now. With that thought he turned to the prophet who had gone back to his work on the word of God. Nodding he headed to Sam's room to make sure his other charge was doing well.
