Hi all. I would like to thank keacdragon and White-Knight-066 for the lovely reviews. You guys are awesome. I would also like to thank those of you who have favoured and followed this story since my last update.
So here's the next bit. I hope you like it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.
Sam was sitting in his bed wondering what it was that Dean had heard that got him to run out of the room when he suddenly heard Gabriel's archangel voice resonate through the bunker. What the hell? He thought, he tried to get up though he knew it was pointless but he knew that he needed to. Before he could do any serious damage to himself a small beige coated person carrying an angel blade ran into his room and hurled himself on to his lap. Sam could feel Cas shaking, he automatically put his arms around the child, though staying well clear of the blade though he trusted Cas with the thing, he was an angel after all, and asked gently "what's wrong Cas?"
"Make them stop Sam. Please make them stop." Castiel stuttered into the humans shoulder. He hoped Sam would be able to get them to stop. He was the only one that Castiel had thought that they would listen to.
"Make who stop what?" Sam asked confused about what was going on.
"Dean and Gabriel. Stop them arguing." Castiel begged up at him. It was at that point the archangel and his brother entered his room both pushing through the doorway at the same time then going to opposite sides of the room. Dean glaring at Gabriel with his arms crossed and Gabriel looking at Dean as if he would smite him in a second, his eyes still slightly glowing and energy pouring off of him. Oh crap Sam thought but he needed to sort this out.
"Okay what's going on?" Sam asked calmly hoping, without much faith it would happen, that they could discuss this calmly.
"He is an irresponsible brother." Dean spat out.
"And he is an uneducated mud monkey." Gabriel replied.
"Okay stop. You're upsetting Cas." Sam snapped as he felt the child in his arms shaking worsen as their brother's flung insults at each other.
Once Sam said those words Dean looked at Cas and saw he was shaking and felt a complete dick. How could he have been so stupid to have this argument in front of him? He should have waited until he could get Gabriel alone to duke it out.
"Sorry Cas. I didn't mean to upset you okay buddy? I was just worried about you." He said trying really hard to remove all anger from his voice.
"There was no need for you to worry Dean." Gabriel replied trying to moderate his tone also while trying to get his point across.
"Yeah well I didn't know that did I?" Dean replied his temper rising once again but before Gabriel could reply Sam butted in.
"Hey. First rule of Parenting don't argue in front of the children." He said exasperated with the both of them. He still didn't know what they were arguing about but knowing Dean he was being over protective again.
At that sentence both Dean and Gabriel turned to Sam with open mouths. Parents? Them?
Castiel looked up from Sam's shoulder and whispered to him softly yet seriously. "They are not my parents Sam. My father is god."
"I know Cas but they are certainly doing good imitations of it." Sam muttered back before turning his attention back to the other two people in the room. "Look I have no idea what's going on but Cas is fine so I say no harm done and lets just leave it at that okay?" He asked hoping they would take it, they had both calmed down somewhat.
"Fine." Gabriel replied as Dean said "Yeah."
"Okay, now I want you both to apologise to Cas for the way you upset him." Sam said wondering when it was he became the adult of this group.
"Who's the parent now Sammy-o." Gabriel muttered before going over to his brother and turning his head so that he was facing him. "I'm sorry kiddo. You know I didn't mean to upset you. I know Dean-o doesn't understand angel stuff." He said sincerely into his little brothers eyes.
"He is only human Gabriel, you must remember that." Castiel replied innocently smiling at his brother and giving him a kiss on the check before he felt a tap on his shoulder from the other side.
"Hey buddy, sorry I over reacted, I just didn't want to see you get hurt." Dean said softly looking into little Cas' eyes. He had to remember that this wasn't the Cas he knew, and when it came to looking after little angels Gabriel was, as much as he hated to admit it, the expert.
"I know Dean. But Gabriel is right, I have been training for the last few centuries." Castiel replied with a smile.
"Yeah I guess, I just forget you're an angel sometimes." Dean replied with a shrug and a smile.
At that Castiel smiled and after giving Sam one last hug he got of his knee to go return his blade to his room.
Once Cas had left the room Dean flopped into the chair by Sam's bed while his brother just looked at him expectantly. Dean glared right back until he finally relented. "Sorry Gabriel." He said through gritted teeth not taking his eyes from his brother.
"Don't worry Dean-o I understand a mothers instincts to protect her young." Gabriel replied. He was going to milk this one for all it was worth.
"I'm not a woman Gabe." Dean responded glaring once more at the archangel.
"Well you certainly do a good impression of one Dean-o." Gabriel replied with a smirk on his lips but he was glaring right back.
Dean just growled at him.
Sam decided he had had enough of this and turned to Gabriel "Any chance you could heal me sometime soon? Not feeling great." He said leaning back onto his pillows.
"Sure. I can do it now if you want. Oh and Cassie was saying that Crowley has been asking for animals while we've been away." Gabriel said sitting on the bed next to Sam and speaking over his shoulder to Dean, still not looking him in the eye. He really felt that if he and Dean didn't get some time apart soon he might just smite the guy.
"Right well you healing Sammy. I go see what Crowley wants." Dean said getting up and walking quickly to the door. Gabriel wasn't the only one who really didn't want to round the other right now.
