Let's reflect on the past a bit

When Mari was born, she a very loud baby if she wasn't crying, she was cooing so much to try and form words she heard from her parents (and failing) inheriting her mother's extroverted nature

When Sunny was born, he was a very quiet baby usually keeping to himself although occasionally getting active thanks to Mari playful demeanor inheriting his father's introverted nature

When Henry was born, he was a very inquisitive baby always curious about something and always happy to learn which is why he likes cooking seeing his mother masterfully make meals like it was nothing

When Kel was born, he was a very wild baby more than wild honestly the kid just seemed to have endless energy which is probably why his dad got him into sports, not only to give young Kel an outlet but also discipline

Sunny and Hero are reflecting on this with each other while walking around Nearby City talking about the time before they met up. Their parents were already friends with each other, so it made sense for their children to do the same

Mari and Henry hit it off right away clearly having a crush on each other though their parents thought it was just puppy love nothing *THAT* serious (yes the building up irony) since Mari's playful attitude bounced off well with (or just broke down) Henry's stoic and charming nature coining the nickname Hero, while Hero always admired how caring and mature Mari was (despite some of her immature humor) she was always able to tell if someone had a problem and always tried to help even if she didn't have all the answers.

Sunny and Kel took some time since they were very different from each other, but those differences eventually became a strength as Sunny's quiet nature helped ground Kel and his antics teaching the boy to control his temperament, while Kel's wild nature helped Sunny become more vibrant and livelier.

From here both Hero and Sunny know what comes next Aubrey comes along from here deteriorating home life (which is now all gone) and quickly becomes friends with everyone mainly Sunny and Mari eventually she brings Basil who was (and still is) anxiety incarnate yet relaxes in the presence of a supportive group.

Their own little perfect world where nothing could go wrong even when they grew up and were going away for college...

Nothing...short...of...a light...push

Sunny and Hero find themselves on a bridge overlooking a highway

Sunny: from there everything came crashing down not only for us kids but also for our parents thanks to yet again my father according to you anyway, why are we remembering the past right now?

Hero: It's funny really, how we keep talking about it, we keep bringing it up that one event like it is important

Sunny (clearly confused and little pissed): IT IS important Henry, it's because of that we are here right now in this place to begin with. Doesn't matter what the "real" truth is, my sister the heart of our group was dead because of me all over some stupid recital.

Hero: Because of her perfectionism that was something I knew we needed to work on by the time we got to college together, I thought she could keep it check before then...guess not.

Hero and Sunny walked across the bridge going to their hangout spot while noticing they are being followed, seriously they aren't even being subtle but that doesn't matter, they are in the hangout spot (which may or may not be a bar) with Sunny sitting at the counter with Hero sitting at a couch.

Sunny: So why are we doing this Henry I don't mind talking normally again but it's not like I've really been helping-

Hero: Because you were right Sunny

Sunny is surprised?

Hero: I never lived up to my nickname I was just some "gifted kid" who blamed everyone else for his "problems", admittedly those problems were pretty serious had to go through a lot of therapy, almost took medication and while that is something people should consider I myself didn't want my body to be dependent on such things, and finally there was my very unhealthy behavior of...well you know now.

Sunny: yep I do know now and so does Mari but hey it's not the end of the world, depending on who you ask dating multiple at once is a good thing...maybe (look it up I did so this could "work" in the loose' sense) granted you were targeting a specific partner but that just a m- (sunny froze realizing what Henry wanted to say)

Henry: A mistake, right? That I can't take back but can try to make it better

Sunny: H-henry what we did are two completely different things

Henry: yet they somewhat led to the same results: relationships destroyed, a messy situation, and only one person to blame at least at first. Unlike you I tried to fix it the moment I "snaped out of it" practically begged on hands and knee's multiple times to do and mend broken relationships.

Sunny (took a moment to think): w-wait mend rela- some of them were dating before you swooped in!?

Henry: I'm just getting worst right? Margerete was probably going to bring that up later as a "silver bullet" while conveniently leaving out all that I did to try and make things right that ironically worked out better than it did. She however was...is still the same as ever, so entitled and possessive our breakup was a messy one and she did say "I would pay" guess she was right. I can tell you the look on those girls faces they were afraid we need to stop her and just end this madness

Sunny: Henry is there something else you want to say you look very-

Henry: tired? *sigh* Mari is pregnant

Sunny flinches and some noises can be heard outside the hangout spot

Henry: I know you and Mari were keeping it secret most likely to confront me at some point about it, but being a doctor, I noticed a shift in Mari's behavior which led me to be curious and eventually I looked in the garbage to find a bunch of birth monitors that all had a plus on them. The message was clear she doesn't want our kid and by extension any children you or anyone else may have, to grow up in this environment we must be better than our parents, we must put all of this behind us for good and look forward to the future.

Henry gets up and walks towards Sunny who also does the same
Henry: Sunny I honestly don't know if I can truly forgive you even after everything we've been through yet there's a part of me that wishes that we can just go back to how things were just us being together

Sunny: well Henry I can't say what we should do to make things "better", but this right here right now is a good first step, you have no idea how much this means to me.

Both men shake hands and hug each other to solidify and reconnect a once broken bond

Sunny and Hero: you can come out now

Right on cue everyone comes out of hiding to congratulate the 2 for finally working things out there are still some issue but this...is nice. Things go quiet when Mari, May, and Aubrey walk in since there's a lot to unpack

Henry: May!? what are you-

Sunny: Aubrey I was looking for you but I wanted to-

Aubrey: it's okay Sunny I... needed to do something too let's just hope this is last we have to deal with... all of this

May: don't worry about Margerete; we got Samson to handle it supposedly, is that right, Kim?

Kim: yep just got text saying things are going smoothly

Mari: …

Henry: …

So much tension, let's break it

Henry: Mari do you still want to sing?

Mari: huh? I mean yes I do but only after (she holds her waist)

Henry: that's fine our kid needs us, at least needs me to be better I'm sorry Mari for everything

Mari says nothing instead just embraces Henry who does the same. Sunny does the same for Aubrey who honestly really needs it

Finally things are looking up... for now anyway
