Sorry about the late update. I hope you enjoy this chapter. Please review!
They had arrived back at the motel room. Sam, Dean and the girls were sitting around the room trying to figure out where the necklace would be and how they were going to get it.
"If the ex-wife killed the now deceased wife then the deceased wife must have been wearing the necklace or was close to it." Samantha stated sitting down on one of the beds.
"Stop using words like deceased Miss fancy pants" Jess said looking up from her computer.
"Just say dead or wife. This whole ex and wife crap is so confusing." Beth spat getting annoyed. The boys ignored the girls little rant while the girls kept yelling at each other.
"Well Sammy looks like we'll have to go check out the body." Dean said rubbing his hands together, a look of annoyance on his face.
"Talk to the coroner, see what she had on her person." Sam agreed. The boys stood up to leave; the girls had still been arguing over what to call the two women and hadn't heard their conversation.
"Where are you going?" They turned around to see the boys about to walk out the door.
"To the morgue. You're staying here." Dean said seriously before following Sam out the door, shutting it loudly.
"Rude." Samantha said falling back on the bed
"Someone's a grumpy bum." Beth mumbled
"What did we even do?" Jess asked
"Got out of the Impala, jumped a fence, well Jess did and snuck into that dudes house when he told us to stay in the car." Samantha said pointing out the obvious
"No I don't think that's it" Beth said sarcastically
"No need to be sarcastic Beth" Samantha said rubbing her eyes, feeling tired already.
"No need to be sarcastic Beth" Beth said copying Samantha.
"Shut up." Samantha said throwing a pillow in Beth's direction
"Watch the glasses." Beth yelled ducking her head.
"Beth a pillow won't break your glasses." Samantha said sitting up and raising an eyebrow at Beth. Beth just looked up and pulled the finger at Samantha, a big smirk on her face. Samantha not feeling like fighting fell back onto the bed, letting out a big sigh and stuffing her face into a pillow. The room was silent for a moment before Beth crawled over to Samantha.
"Sammie?" Beth asked in a childlike voice. Jess followed her kneeling by the bed Samantha was on.
"Come on Sammie." Jess said in a similar childish voice. Samantha pulled her arm over her head trying to hide her face. Jess and Beth both pulled at her arm repeating 'Sammie' in a childish voice. Samantha couldn't hide her amusement at the girls and a small smile crossed her face as much as she tried to hide it.
"She smiled I'm off the hook." Beth said happily.
"I hate you both." Samantha mumbled into her pillow.
"No you don't Sammie." Jess said in her childish voice.
"Sammie you love us." Beth said back to talking in a childish voice. "Come on Sammie."
"Nope I really hate you both." Samantha said lifting her head trying to hide the smile on her face. The girls sat in silence for a while, not knowing what to do until the boys had come back. They weren't allowed to leave the motel, no matter how tempting the idea, they were always worried about what might be out there. They still hadn't talked about what had happened at Bobby's, having been with the boys almost constantly ever since. Now they had the chance, none of them wanted to bring it up, they tried to distract themselves with thoughts of the case but it did no good.
"I hate being stuck in a motel room all day." Samantha wined.
"I wanna go shopping; we're in New York for crying out loud." Beth moaned.
"Maybe we could call Cas, he could come with us." Jess suggested
"Great idea let's have Cas follow us around the mall looking like a creep." Beth replied sarcastically.
"It was just an idea." Jess said defending herself.
"Besides we have like no money." Samantha added.
"Good point" Beth replied
"What time is it anyway?" Samantha asked.
"Time to get a watch" Beth replied instantly
"Get a new comeback. That's so lame." Samantha said bored.
"You're lame, you lame tree." Beth managed to comeback with.
"Ouch that hurt." Samantha replied sarcastically. Beth went to move towards Samantha.
"Guys seriously." Jess yelled, having had enough of the constant bickering. "Sammie, Beth, stop it. Bad Sammie and Beth." Jess told the girls of in a childish voice as it they were dogs. Samantha and Beth instantly turned to look at Jess, both girls raising their eyebrows. They all burst into laughter as the realised their stupidity.
The phone went off, causing the girls to jump. Jess quickly checked the number seeing it was Sam she answered it and put it on speaker
"Hey the wife had the necklace when she came in, but the morgue gave it back to the husband, so we are going to get it now" Sam explained, Dean could be heard in the background mumbling about Sam telling the girls.
"Ok great, but come get us first" Beth asked
"No" Dean blurted out "Not happening" he was still angry that the girls didn't listen to him last time.
"Shut up Mr grumpy we are talking to Sasquatch" Jess yelled back.
"How do you expect us to learn to protect ourselves from demons and other stuff when you won't let us even help you on an easy job" Samantha spat at them over the phone.
"She has a point Dean" Sam said taking the girls side.
"Shut up Sam, you're not helping. They're not coming and that is that" Dean exclaimed.
"Fine we nowhere Brad's house is, we'll just walk" Beth said.
"You leave that motel room and you will regret it" Dean yelled through the phone, which on the girls ends doesn't sound as frightening as it would if he was really standing over them all puffed up, like an angry bird yelling at them. The girls all shared that same look and headed for the door.
"We're opening the door" Jess said
"Don't!" Dean warned
"We're walking out the door" Beth teased
"Girls!"
"We're outside" Samantha said
"You're dead!" Dean yelled. The screeching of the tyres could be heard as Dean turned the impala back towards the motel.
"I feel very much alive right now what about you guys?" Jess asked
"Yep still alive Dean" Beth replied
"You girls have done it now" Sam said, the amusement could be heard in his voice. The phone call went dead as the impala tore into the parking lot, with a very angry Dean at the wheel.
"Oh shit" Beth muttered
"Scatter!" the girls all ran in different directions all trying to avoid Dean's grip. Beth hid behind the impala, Samantha hid behind Sam and Jess just ran.
"Dean calm down, before you pull something" Sam said walking over to Dean, Samantha ran over to Beth as her protection was standing next to Dean.
"Sam-" Dean started
"Get in the car, I will get the girls" Sam interrupted
"And lock them in the motel room" Dean spat
"No, they are coming with us" Sam stated
"Sam-" Dean warned
"No, Dean they are. They could be helpful, they did find the only clue we have" Sam interrupted again not giving Dean a chance to argue.
"Yeah" All the girls yelled in unison. Dean glared at them, but he eventually stormed back to the car and slid in the driver seat, slamming the door once he was in. Sam shot the girls a look, which they all knew as the don't-fuck-him-off look. The girls happily climbed into the back of the impala. They sat quietly until Sam got in the passenger seat, not trying to piss Dean off even more as he was probably almost ready to hand them over to the demons himself. The drive was quiet apart from when Dean and Sam would talk. Dean was trying not to talk to the girls so he was giving the orders through Sam. The girls tried to keep quiet, but Dean was acting like the girls weren't even there.
"You know Dean, we are here, stop acting like we're not."
"Shut up you're gonna piss the poor boy off."
"He's a man stupid."
"A very grumpy man."
"Don't make him angry. You won't like him when he's angry." The girls burst into laughter. Sam turned around to look at the girls, a serious look on his face. The girls shut up immediately. They were soon at the husband's house, but as they pulled up outside, and got out of the Impala they could tell something wasn't right. There was yelling, screaming and loud banging coming from inside. The girls immediately ran inside to find the kids, while the boys grabbed stuff out of the trunk and ran inside. The girls found the kids cowering in the corner of their room upstairs.
"Hey guys we're here to save you and your Daddy okay but you have to come with us." Samantha said softly, extending her hand out to the two children. The boy was holding his little sister protectively. He looked at the girls unsure.
"We'll keep you safe don't worry." Beth said, all the girls kneeled down to their height so they didn't look intimidating and tried to remain as calm as possible. They could hear all the banging and crashing downstairs, and the boys yelling as they searched for the necklace. The boy looked like he thought for a moment before reaching out and grabbing Samantha's hand.
"Come on Ana" The boy said pulling his little sister up off the floor. Beth quickly picked the girl up, as Samantha did with the boy. Jess led out front as the girls made their way out to the back door as quickly as they could without bringing attention to themselves. Jess held the door open as they ran outside, quickly running to the gate at the front, Jess unlocked it and Beth and Samantha quickly made their way through with the children in their arms. They made it out as a cry came from inside. All three girls turned to look at the house.
"Jess, go help Sam and Dean." Samantha said covering the young boy's ears. Samantha and Beth stayed outside trying to keep the kids calm and safe, telling them they were alright and Daddy was going to be fine. Of course they couldn't promise them that, they just hopped this was a moment they would not remember. Jess ran inside through the front door and found Sam and Dean fighting off a persistent dead wife. She looked frantically around the room and unsure of how to help.
"Find the necklace!" Dean yelled swinging the iron fire prod at the ghost and pulling Sam up off the floor. Jess saw a shotgun next to the stairs and grabbed as she ran upstairs to Brad's room. Rushing through the door she ran for the painting that they knocked off and ripped it off the wall. She chucked the shotgun on the bed and frantically pulled the wooden box out of the wall and tried to open it but it was locked.
"Why would you lock the one thing that can save you up?" Jess yelled in frustration throwing the box on the floor and grabbing the shotgun. "If it's not in here I'm sorry" Jess apologised to no one and unloading a round at the box. Jess quickly pulled the lid off and inside was another box that wasn't in there last time. She opened the box and there it was, the necklace "Thank god" she said grabbing it off and running down stairs. "I found it!" she yelled holding it up so that Sam and Dean could see it.
"Great burn it!" Dean yelled.
"With what?" Jess asked
"In the bag" Sam yelled pointing at his duffle bag by the door. She ran for the bag and found the liquid fire lighter, the salt and the lighter. Jess grabbed a nearby container and chucked the necklace poured the liquid lighter and salt all in the container. "It won't light!" she yelled when she tried the lighter.
"Well make it work!" Dean yelled swinging his iron rod through the ghost, she disappeared.
"Where is she?" Sam asked looking around frantically as Jess was still trying the lighter.
"Got it-" Jess screamed as her foot was grabbed and dragged through the other room. Dean and Sam both ran for Jess. Jess's scream alerted Beth and Samantha outside making Samantha run for to the front door leaving Beth to look after the kids. Inside Samantha saw Dean and Sam wrestling to get Jess back who was still being dragged around by the ghost.
"Burn the bloody necklace!" Sam yelled pointing to the container near them. Quickly Samantha grabbed the lighter and lit it straight away. She dropped it into the container and the ghost went up in flames. Dean grabbed Jess and shielded her from the flaming ghost.
"You ok?" Dean asked her checking she wasn't hurt.
"Yes I'm fine mum" She said falling back on the floor in exhaustion.
"Is he alive?" Samantha asked pointing to the husband who was lying on the floor, blood running down his face. Sam had moved over to the man and checked his breathing.
"He's breathing, just unconscious." Sam replied slumping back. Suddenly, the two kids came running into the room, followed by Beth telling them to stop.
"Daddy!" They called as they ran over to him. Luckily the man began to regain consciousness.
"Sorry I couldn't get them to stay outside." Beth said. "Is everyone alright?" she asked.
"We're fine." Dean said helping Jess off the floor.
"Does that mean we can go shopping?" Beth asked a big smile on her face. The boys and other two girls cracked a small laugh.
"No." Dean replied, his voice seemed serious but you could see on his face that he wasn't angry. The girls had proved to him that they could take care of themselves and others. They were proving to be quite handy to have around.
"So are you still shitty with us?" Jess asked Dean while watching the kids.
"He's always shitty, he can't be Mr grumpy otherwise" Samantha smiled.
...
"Well Thanks for all your help" Brad said shaking Sam and Dean's hands.
"No problem, but you should really probably see a doctor" Sam exclaimed.
"Yeah, I will thanks" Brad said "And thank you for taking care of my kids" He continued, now talking to the girls.
"You're welcome" Beth replied. Samantha and Jess just nodded. Jess rubbed her neck feeling kind of awkward and also her neck still kind of hurt from being dragged around the floor by a ghost. The girls stood there awkwardly, looking at the ground. Dean cleared his throat.
"Girls, we should go." Dean said gesturing the girls towards the car.
"Yeah cool" the girls started towards the car, but stopped when the little boy and Ana ran up and hugged the three girls in turn.
"You be good little kids for Daddy okay." Beth said kneeling down to talk to them face to face.
"Make sure Daddy goes to the doctor." Samantha told the little boy. He nodded his head before hugging Samantha again. He grabbed his sister's hand and they ran back to their father.
"Come on girls" Dean said opening the driver's door.
"Bye" the girls all said waving to the kids and Brad as they climbed into the car. Once everyone was in the car Dean turned the engine over.
"I hope those kids will be ok" Jess said
"Hopefully they don't remember this when they grow up" Beth said leaning against the window.
"We can only hope that they don't turn out like us" Dean said focusing on the road ahead of him.
