*It's been a few weeks since Professor Heine arrived at the palace. Today, we were all gathered in the reception hall, as per the Professor's summons (I had my hair in a half-up ponytail & wearing a yellow dress (look up "Daisy - Mary Hunt (Child)" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt")*
Professor Heine: I see your Royal Highnesses are all present and accounted for.
Chrissy: Yes, sir.
*Kai didn't say anything as he hugged Shadow*
Bruno: Yes, Master! I arrived one quarter of an hour early!
Leo: What did you call us to the reception hall for?
Licht: Ooh, are we gonna have a group lesson? If it's at Leonie's level, it'll be simple! Great!
Leo: What!?
Licht: Well, you only got one point on your test!
Leo: Shut up!
Chrissy: Stop it, both of you!
Professor Heine: Hush, please. *he went up to the window* This lesson is not one that can be learned from a desk.
Leo & Chrissy: Eh?
*Professor Heine pushed the window open & a strong gust of wind came through, startling Shadow as he ran away*
Professor Heine: For today's lesson, we shall venture into Weinner, the capital, to observe the lives of the people.
*I felt really excited when I heard that*
Chrissy:*in her mind* We're going into the city! Oh, how fun!
Leo: What? An excursion?
Licht: We get to go into town!? Brilliant!
Professor Heine: Yes, to continue your studies as potential heirs to the throne, Princes. This is not a social outing.
*Licht pouted at that*
Bruno: I've certainly read much about commoner life, but . . . I've never left my carriage.
Kai: I've never walked through town . . . Either . . .
Licht: As for meee, I've been to the cafe where Anne works and to Rosa's tailoring workshop and to Corinna's cabaret and . . .
*I gave him a disgusted look & Bruno hit him on the back of a head with a book*
Bruno: You've seen too much! Shameless whelp!
Professor Heine: Going into town is a good experience in itself. It is not too disorderly.
*Licht & Kai started to get excited. Bruno bowed to the Professor*
Bruno: I look forward to learning from you, Master!
Professor Heine: Come, let us be on our way.
Leo: Well, I'm not going.
Chrissy: Leo! Why not!?
Leo: I've not once walked about town either, but what of it? Why would a royal ever need to how commoners live?
*He turned away with a pout. Professor Heine then pulled out a book*
Professor Heine: According to records of the Granzreich Royal family two hundred years ago, Princess Marie, who married into the Kingdom of Granzreich from the Kingdom of Fonsein, indulged in all manner of excess, unaware of the poverty of the common people. Professor Heine: Would you like to see? There's an illustration. *Leo screamed when he saw the picture in the book. I grimaced, having read about that in a history book* If you still refuse to go, I shan't force you . . .
*Just then, Leo grabbed in end of his coat, looking terrified*
Leo: I - I'll go . . . I'll learn all about the lives of the commoners . . . Only spare me the guillotine . . .
Chrissy:*in her mind* Professor Heine has certainly learned how to handle him. Though, I wish he had used a less frightening approach. He's probably going to have nightmares now.
*Two hours later, I had my hair in braids (look up "Blonde Anime Girl Render" by "HaruRenders" on "DeviantArt"), wearing a bandana tied around my hair (look up "Cast of Cinderella" by "merit" on "DeviantArt"), & my purple sleeveless dress over a white short sleeved dress, a white apron, white tights, & brown boots (look up "Kaguya Madoka [Precure Tsunagaru Pazurun]" by "JellyHeartsOffical" on "DeviantArt") as I went outside to meet the Professor, who was waiting at the carriage*
Professor Heine: Ah, Princess Chrissy. Right on time and ready.
Chrissy: Yes. I'm very excited to be going into the city and showing everyone the sights.
Professor Heine: Yes, I'll be requiring your assistance during this lesson.
*I did a salute*
Chrissy: Yes, sir!
Licht:*off-screen* I'm ready, teach! *we turned & saw him wearing a tan coat over a red vest which was over a white shirt, a red ribbon around his neck, tan pants, & brown shoes**on-screen* Ta-Daa! An elegant and fashionable gent!
Professor Heine: Ah, yes. You would be accustomed to this.
Chrissy: You look great, Licht.
Licht: Not bad, right. It took a while to dress everyone up.
We looked behind him & saw Leo wearing a black top hat, a black coat over a vest & a white shirt, a red ribbon around his neck, black pants, & black shoes, Bruno wearing a black coat over a green vest which was over a white shirt, a green necktie, black pants, & black shoes, & Kai wearing a black coat over a brown vest which was over a white shirt, a white cravet, a white scarf around his neck, black pants, & black shoes*
Professor Heine: Oh my. Your Highnesses look rather dashing. You should have no issues blending in.
Chrissy: You all look great!
*Leo & Bruno looked a little flustered & Kai looked happy*
Bruno: I . . . Thought that it would be wise to hide our faces . . .
Licht: I told you that would make you stand out more! Do you have any idea how dreadful it would have been if I hadn't stopped them?
*I could just imagine the three them of them trying on different masks*
Chrissy:*in her mind* He hadn't, we'd have looked like a troup of masqueraders.
*The Professor & I stepped up to the carriage*
Professor Heine: Now then, I ask that you make it a point to avoid drawing attention to yourselves as much as possible whilst we are about town. There will be quite a fuss if anyone learns that you are royalty.
Licht: Ok!
Chrissy: Yes, sir.
*Just then, we saw Grandmother & Adele watching us from the gate*
Maria: L - Leaving already . . .?
Professor Heine: Queen Mother.
Chrissy: Adele.
*They came up to us & Grandmother gave Leo some money*
Maria: Take this to buy whatever catches your fancy. And this money is in case of emergency. Please be careful not to get hurt or ill . . . You must all come home to us safe and sound . . .
*Grandmother started to cry, making Adele cry to*
Leo: W - We'll fine, Grandmother!
Bruno: The Professor will be with us!
Chrissy: Please don't cry!
*Soon, we all got in the carriage & it drove away. Licht waved them all goodbye*
*We soon arrived at a small street*
Coachman:*off-screen* I've taken us to a side street.
Professor Heine: Let us off here, then, please.
*The carriage stopped & we all got out. Leo looked surprised at what he saw & Licht looked excited*
Licht: Wooow . . . Whoo-hoo! It's the city!
*Bruno help a map of the city*
Bruno: It looks quite lively.
*Leo looked really nervous as we walked down the street*
Bruno: Hmm. Walking through town is an altogether different experience than reading a map. One would get lost venturing out alone. *he stared at the map really hard* I'll memorize the map first, then compare it to our actual surroundings.
Chrissy: Bruno, you really don't have to . . .
Licht: Heh. Amateur. All right, big brothers and Chrissy, I'll take you round all my favorite shops, shall I? Follow me! *just then, he realized something* Now that I think about it, I'm always following my lady friends.
Bruno:*irritated* Why do you bother going to town, then?
Chrissy: I can show you around. *my brothers all turned to me in surprise* Remember, I grew up in this city. I know most of it very well.
Bruno: That would make more sense.
Leo: That would be v - very helpful, Chrissy.
Licht: Lead the way!
*Kai just patted my head with a smile*
Professor Heine: Very well. We shall follow you, Princess Chrissy.
Chrissy: Right! Let's go, everyone!
(Third-Person POV)
*The Princes all smiled with red cheeks as they watched Chrissy skip ahead*
Princes:*in their minds* She's so cute when she's excited.
(Chrissy's POV)
*We left the side street & came out on the main road*
Leo: G - Good god! Look at all the people in this street!
Chrissy: The is Ringstrasse, the Ring Road, commonly known as "The Ring,"
Professor Heine: Yes, years ago, ramparts stood here. Following their demolition and a massive construction effort completed twenty years ago, it became a main road. This rubble is a remnant of the walls. From here you can see the national opera house, the city hall, and so on. All of the public buildings are positioned along the ring.
Licht: Nghh . . . That's why there are so many people?
Professor Heine: Weinner now boasts a population of 1.3 million and is considered a world center. Do take care not to stray from the group. *he turned to Leo, who looked terrified* Particularly you, Prince Leonard. Are you listening? *I sighed. It's official. My brother was now throughly commoner-phobic* You'll be fine as long as no one finds out you're a Prince.
*The Professor dragged him away*
Leo: Truly!? You wouldn't lie, would you!?
Chrissy: Of course he wouldn't.
*We soon arrived at the shopping district*
Kai: Many . . . Stores . . . Here . . .
Professor Heine: Yes, we've entered the shopping district. How would you like to shop to your heart's content? The Queen Mother did give you pocket money.
Chrissy: Mama and I would do most of our shopping here.
*The boys & I started to go our separate ways*
Bruno: I shall see myself to the bookstore then!
*I headed towards the candy store, which was owned by Peter's grandparents*
Mr. Simon: Chrissy Becker! As I live and breath!
Mrs. Simon: It's been a while. How are you dear?
Chrissy: Oh, fine. How have you both been doing?
Mr. Simon: Oh, a little older. But doing alright.
(Third-Person POV)
*A few minutes later, Professor Heine & the Princes walked up to the store*
(Chrissy's POV)
Mrs. Simon: How have you been doing lately, dear? We heard you're living with your Father in the palace now? What's he like? Is he kind to you?
Chrissy: Well, to be honest. I haven't met him yet. He's been away on business for a while.
Mr. Simon: You know, when Peter told us your Father was the King, I thought it was just another one of his tall tales. Until Lizzie cleared it up.
Chrissy: I know, I had a hard time believing it at first myself.
Mr. Simon: You know. We've been discussing wether or not we should take you in.
(Third-Person POV)
*The Princes stopped in their tracks when they heard that*
(Chrissy's POV)
*I was surprised hearing that*
Mrs. Simon: Peter told us that you didn't have any other relatives.
*I remembered what he told me the day I received the letter from Father*

Peter: If you ever need anything at all, just let me know! My family and I will be happy to help you with anything you need!
(Chrissy's POV)
Chrissy:*in her mind* He really meant it.
Mrs. Simon: The offer still stands if you're interested. We love a full house. We've already got six grandkids. Plus a rooster, a dog, a cat, and a donkey if pets are up your alley.
*He laughed. I was quiet*
(Third-Person POV)
*Leonard started to head into the store*
Leo: Chris - *suddenly, Bruno grabbed his arm* Brother, what are you -
Bruno:*whispering* Leonard, I know it's hard to accept, but it's not about what we want. This is about what Chrissy wants. And Father would want us to respect her decision.
*Leo, Licht, & Kai all looked sad, knowing that Bruno was right. Professor Heine watched the brothers in silence, proud of them for letting their half sister decide for herself*
(Chrissy's POV)
*I smiled*
Chrissy: I don't even know what you say. Thank you for the offer, but I'm going to stay at the palace.
(Third-Person POV)
*The Princes eyes went wide*
(Chrissy's POV)
Chrissy: Everyone there has been very kind to me and can't believe I have my own private kitchen. Also, I've kinda gotten used to seeing my family and all of the servants every day. So, again, thank you. But I've found my home.
*Mr. Simon put his hand on my head*
Mr. Simon: That's just fine. We're happy for you.
*I smiled*
Mrs. Simon: You make sure you keep those Princes in line.
Chrissy: I will. Before I go, *I turned to the door* Boys, Professor Heine. Come on in. *they came in, Leo looking scared* These are my brothers and my tutor.
Licht: Hiya!
Bruno:*bowing* A pleasure to make your acquaintance.
Leo: H - Hello.
*Kai just nodded his head with a smile*
Professor Heine: Pleased to meet you?
Mrs. Simon: Pleased to meet you, Your Majesties.
Mr. Simon: Well, I'll be! Never thought I'd ever see the day that Royalty would come to my little shop.
*Mrs. Simon elbowed her husband*
Mrs. Simon: George, mind your manners!
Bruno: It's quite alright, Mrs. Simon.
Mr. Simon: Tell you what, as a thank you to looking after our favorite customer, help yourselves to some sweets. It's on the house.
Mrs. Simon: Just make sure not to eat them all at once & brush your teeth.
*My brothers then went around the store, picking out whatever candy they wanted & put it in little bags. Kai filled two bags, one for him & one for Adele. Once they were satisfied, we left*
Professor Heine: That's very kind of you both.
Licht: Thanks a lot!
Bruno: Yes, thank you.
Leo: Th - Thank you very much.
*Kai just waved goodbye*
Chrissy: I'll come and visit soon.
Mrs. Simon: Take care, dear.
Mr. Simon: See you soon!
*After we left the candy store, we walked around a little more*
Licht: Look, look! *he pointed to a sausage stand* A sausage stand! I'm famished. Let's all try one!
Bruno: Where are the restaurant's seats?
Chrissy: There aren't any. You eat them standing up.
Leo: Standing up!? How do you use your knife and fork!?
Professor Heine: As representatives of the common people, Princess Chrissy and I shall demonstrate.
*The Professor & I stepped up to the cart*
Chrissy: Six kase-krainers, please.
*The man handed us six of them*
Vendor: Here ya are!
Chrissy: Thank you.
*The Professor & I demonstrated how to eat one*
Professor Heine: First, you hold the sausage by the bread bun and open your mouth wide. Then you take a bite. *he & I each took a bite* Voila. Simple, no?
Chrissy: It's delicious.
Leo: It seems so . . . Vulgar . . .
Professor Heine: Such disrespect.
Bruno: Master lowered himself to this so as to demonstrate for us . . . I have . . . To . .
Leo: N - No! Dearest brother . . .!
*Licht & Kai look their sausages & sat down on the fountain next to me & the Professor*

Chrissy:*in her mind* They've experienced a lot today. Today has been so much fun! I'm glad nothing has gone wrong so far. *I looked up at the sky* It's getting late. We should head home soon . . .
*Just then, an elderly lady & a little boy walked past us. Suddenly, a man wearing a cap on his head snatched her bag & ran away, knocking her down in the process*
Elderly Lady: Th . . . THIEF! Ouch . . .
Little Boy: Granny! Granny!
*We all ran up to her*
Chrissy: Are you alright!?
*Licht went to help her up*
Elderly Lady: Ohh, he's already so far . . . Our money's in that bag . . .
Bruno: The coward . . . Preying on the old and frail . . .!
Professor Heine: We should call a watchman for the time being.
Bruno: Yes. Licht, Chrissy, see to her.
Chrissy: Yes!
Licht: Got it!
Little Boy:*crying* Granny, are you gonna be okay?
Elderly Lady: I'll be just fine, sweetheart. Thank the Lord he laid hand on me an' not you. *she hugged her grandson* Nothing could make me happier than knowing you're safe and sound . . .
*I smiled at both of them*
Leo: Grandmother . . .
*He suddenly got a serious look on his face*
Bruno: Leonard . . . ?
Leo: I WON'T LET THAT THIEF GET AWAY WITH THIS . . .! WAIT HERE! I SHALL RETRIEVE YOUR BAG!
Elderly Lady: B - But he's already out of sight.
Leo: That distance is nothing. I've taken home the top prize in the track-and-field division three years in row. YOU'D BE A FOOL TO UNDERESTIMATE ME!
*he got ready for run*
Professor Heine: NO! YOU MUSTN'T DRAW ATTENTION TO YOURSELF -
Chrissy: Leo, don't be so reckless!
*Suddenly, just before he could run off, Kai appeared in front of him, holding the bag & the unconscious thief*
Kai: Thief. While everyone . . . Talked . . . I ran . . . Got it back . . .
*We were all shocked. The authorities soon came & arrested the thief. Leo blushed from embarrassment & hid his face behind his hat. Licht started mocking him*
Licht: "I won't let that thief get away with this . . .!" "I shall retrieve your bag!"
Chrissy: Licht, stop teasing him! He was just trying to help!
*Leo stood up & put on his hat*
Leo: I - I had no idea elder brother had already chased after him . . .
Professor Heine: We were lucky to avoid a scene. It would have been unfortunate if your identity had been exposed.
Chrissy:*in her mind* I was so focused on helping the elderly lady that I didn't even notice Kai had run after the thief. He's was so fast . . .
*I looked up at Kai in awe. He noticed & patted my head with a smile*
Elderly Lady: E - Excuse me . . . *she took out little bags of candy* I'd like to thank you. This is all I have to offer . . .
Kai: Never seen this kind before . . . Thank you . . .!
Elderly Lady: Ah, that's . . . It's a teatime treat you'd find in any home. Still, I'm glad you like it. *she turned to me & my brothers* Would you children like some as well?
Bruno: W - We couldn't possibly. We did nothing . . .

*She put the candies in our hands*

*I felt my heart swell with happiness as we said goodbye to the lady & her grandson*
*We got to the side street where we started & a carriage pulled up to us. Ludwig & Maximilian stepped out*
Maximilian: Your Highnesses, Herr Wittgenstein. We're here to escort you home.
Professor Heine: Thank you for guarding us today.
Leo: Huh!? They were with us!?
Professor Heine: That goes without saying. Does it not?
*The sun was down as the carriage made it's way back to the palace. Licht looked out the window & gasped*
Licht: Ooh! Look! *we all looked out the window & saw the city lights lighting up the night* It's gorgeous!
Bruno: There's the bookstore I dropped by this afternoon.
Leo: Then across from it is the general store where I went shopping?
Chrissy: I think I see Mr. & Mrs. Simon's candy shop to.
Leo: . . . Someone lives at each and every one of those light. There were both good and the bad.
Professor Heine: Correct. 1.3 million people, each with his or her own unique viewpoint and personality. A place where 1.3 million people carry on their lives. That is Weinner, the capital of your Royal Highnesses Kingdom. If you have felt the gravity of that, even if but for a moment, the today's excursion was a success.
Bruno: It was. Walking through Wienner on foot has given me a new point of view. When I get home, I shall revisit my thesis and consider how best to build this nation's future.
Licht: Mm . . . If I became King, I'd want all my subjects to be young ladies, and they'd wear swimwear, and . . . OW!
*Bruno & I grabbed both of his ears again*
