When Haley got back to her house. Gwen and Lydia were waiting for her. The girl seated on the staircase.
"What did he want.?" Gwen asked.
"Is he ready to meet with us already.? We can forget about after school activities. Just for this week. Right mom.?"
"We want to make sure he has time to fit it in to his schedule. Lydia insisted.
Haley sighed deeply. "Let's go talk in the living room." She replied.
"Let's just talk here. What's going on momma.?" Gwen asked.
"I told Nathan about the fact that the two of you wanted to meet him and he's told me that he's had a change of heart."
"He doesn't want involvement with the two of you."
"He has his career and that's what is more important to him then what being an involved father would require." Haley explained.
Knowing this was hard to hear but she wanted to be honest with her children. She was determined for them to have a clear image of who he is.
"This doesn't make any sense!" "You said he came to you."
"Wanting to get to know us. Why would he change his mind all of a sudden?" Lydia asked.
"What did you do or say to ruin this!" Lydia exclaimed.
The expression on Haley's face softened. "Honey I didn't say or do anything. Nathan decided this on his own." Haley replied.
"He wanted to be our dad. You hate him."
"So you don't want him in our life either."
"That's not fair. You got what you wanted."
"Are you happy now!" Lydia exclaimed. As she stormed up the stairs.
Gwen following behind her sister.
Haley was stunned. Nathan got what he wanted.
And somehow she was the one left with angry confused hurt daughters. Taking everything out on her.
