Sam and Dean came down the stairs and went into the living room to see the girls weren't where they left them. Dean went into the kitchen and Sam went up to their room to look for them, they both met at the bottom of the stairs and shared a worried look.
"Girls!" Sam yelled.
"This isn't funny!" Dean yelled walking out of the front door to see if maybe they were outside.
"What are you boys yelling about?" Bobby asked as he came out of his study.
"The girls they weren't with you?" Sam asked
"No should they be?" Bobby asked following Sam out the door to Dean.
"Well they're nowhere else" Dean said as his phone started ringing.

The demons surrounded the girls, the girls expressions all the same faces of terror.
"Looks like it's our lucky day" the black haired demon said before charging at the girls.
"Beth call Dean." Samantha yelled as her and Jess tried to fight off the demons. Beth quickly whipped out her phone, dialling Dean's number on speed dial.
"Where are you guys?!" Dean yelled down the phone.
"We got bored so we went for a walk and uhm de-" Beth started but was cut off by a demon throwing her to the ground. The phone tumbled out of Beth's hand, falling to the forest floor, out of Beth's reach.
"Beth!" Dean yelled when she got cut off. Beth tried to fight the demon off, kicking and using the force of her powers, but the demon was stronger than her. The demon had her pinned down as she struggled against it and the other girls were trying to fight off the other demons and failing miserably meanwhile Sam and Dean were still yelling down the phone trying to figure out where the girls were.
"Hello pretty boys" A female demon said picking up the fallen phone.
"What have you done with them you son of a bitch" Dean yelled.
"Oh relax they're fine, for now" she said smirking looking at the struggling three girls.
"If you hurt them I swear to go-" Dean started
"You'll what? Hunt us down?" she asked mockingly "we've had worse threats than tha-" she started but was cut off by Beth's scream as the demon that was fighting her grabbed her leg and bent it at a weird angle. The boys heard Beth's scream coming from the forest and began running, Dean pulling out Ruby's knife as he ran. Beth tried to get up and start running, her broken leg collapsed underneath her and she screamed again. She began crawling away but the demon grabbed her by the leg, pulling her back, and flipping her onto her back. The demon pulled out a knife, crouching over Beth and aiming it at her heart. As she went to stab the knife into Beth's heart, Beth using all the energy she could muster up, pushed the knife away with her powers, the demon still stabbing her in the stomach. Beth let out a blood curdling scream. Samantha and Jess looked over to Beth momentarily distracted. The demons took their chance, throwing the girls into the surrounding trees, both girls falling to the forest floor, knocked out cold.
Dean, Sam and Bobby came bursting through the trees. Dean went for the demon standing over Beth first, taking her out in one single movement then moving to the next. Sam knocked another demon to the ground and held it there.
"Dean knife" Sam yelled as Dean slashed at another demon killing it. Dean threw the knife as close as he could to Sam. Sam reached out and went to stab the demon underneath him but paused. Instead he slit the side of the demons throat and leant in as if to kiss her neck drinking her blood. Bobby was guarding Beth checking her pulse to make sure she was still alive. Both Dean and Bobby turned to Sam when the demon, whose blood he was drinking screamed for help. When she started to scream that was when Sam pulled back and drove the knife into her chest. He looked up at Dean, who was staring at the blood that was smeared around his chin. He raised his hand at the demon running towards Dean and exorcises the demon with his mind. Dean stood staring at Sam not wanting to believe that he did that again. Any demons that were still alive had run off into the forest, not wanting to stick around anymore.
"We need to get her to a hospital now" Bobby yelled gaining Dean and Sam's attention. Sam wiped some of the blood off his face onto his arm and ran to Beth's side as did Dean. Dean didn't wait for anything else and picked Beth up in his arms.
"I'll go, Bobby get the girls, and Sam..." Dean said glaring at Sam. "Just help Bobby" he continued the disappointment could be heard in his voice. Sam was only trying to help, the girls could have died and the seal could have broken if he didn't. Dean ran to the car with Beth in his arms as fast as he could. Sam ran over to Bobby, who was checking on Samantha and Jess as they were both coming to.
"Easy girls" Bobby said calmly.
"Where's Beth?" Jess asked looking around, but only seeing Sam, Bobby and Samantha
"Is she okay?" Samantha asked worriedly, the events of the fight slowly coming back to her.
"She's with Dean, he's taking her to the hospital" Bobby explained.
"Take us to her now" Samantha said trying to stand up but collapsing back down from dizziness.
"When you can stand on your own two feet" Bobby said catching Samantha before she could crash to the ground.
"Now!" Jess yelled leaning against the tree
"Might as well take them, can get them checked over" Sam said
"Uh Sam you got a little…." Jess said trailing off pointing to her mouth to indicate where he still had blood. Sam's hand quickly flew to his mouth to wipe it away.
"Now can we see Beth?" Samantha asked, trying to break the awkwardness that had fallen over the four.
"Can you stand by yourself?" Bobby asked.
"Yes" Samantha snapped pulling herself away from Bobby, faltering slightly but standing up straight by herself. The girls led the way to Bobby's car, Bobby and Sam following closely behind making sure they didn't fall over.
"Uh Sam you stay behind and clean up the mess, I'll take the girls" Bobby said as Sam went to get into the car. Sam was about to protest but sighed and turned walking back into the forest while the girls carefully climbed into the back of Bobby's car. The car ride to the hospital was silent everyone in their own thoughts all worrying about Beth. When they got to the hospital they found Dean in the waiting room sitting with his head in his hands.
"Dean?" Samantha asked walking over to him. Dean looked up at the girls; he stood up and embraced them in a hug thankful that they were okay.
"How is she?" Bobby asked.
"They've taken her into surgery" Dean said letting go of the other two girls.
"Any idea how she is?" Jess asked.
"They're checking for internal damage, then they'll look at the leg" Dean explained sitting back down. They waited for what seemed like hours until a Doctor came out to talk to them.
"Family of Bethany Kansas?" he asked. The four of them stood up and walked over to him.
"How is she?" Bobby asked
"She's fine, she's very lucky there's no internal damage. We've stitched her back up but she'll have to stay overnight" he explained
"And her leg?" Samantha asked
"That is in a cast and will take six weeks before we'll take it off but she'll still have to be careful on it for a few weeks afterwards and she'll be on crutches. She also won't be able to move much for a few weeks to let the stab wound heal. I'll also be prescribing her some painkillers and antibiotics to stop infection." he explained.
"Can we see her?" Jess asked.
"Immediate family only at the moment" The Doctor said.
"We are her immediate family" Dean said.
"Okay in that case you can take turns to see her. Two of you at a time. She will still be a little foggy so we don't want to crowd her. She's in room 221, ward B." The doctor explained before walking away.
"You girls go first" Dean said sitting back down. The girls quickly thanked Dean before briskly walking to Beth's room. When they got there they quietly opened the door and walked over to Beth who was lying in the bed.
"Sup" Beth said smiling at the two girls who were standing awkwardly at the side of the bed.
"Hey" Samantha said smiling back at her
"Hey Beth guess what?" Jess said grinning
"What?" Beth asked trying to sit up but wincing in pain and giving up.
"You're in 221b" She answered smiling
"Fuck yeah" Beth said happily. Causing the other two to laugh and the awkwardness to break between the three of them. "So what happened after I was nearly killed?" Beth asked casually causing Samantha to roll her eyes
"Uhm Sam, Dean and Bobby showed up. Dean killed the demon that attacked you, Bobby guarded you. Sam and Dean kicked some ass. The demons knocked us out, Dean took you here and voila here we are" Jess said "That's the quick version anyway"
"If that's the quick version I don't wanna fucking hear the long version" Beth said smiling slightly and looking down at her hands that were resting on her stomach. They stayed silent for a few awkward moments before a nurse came in.
"Girls, your dad said you needed to be checked over" She said. Jess went to say something about neither Bobby nor Dean being their dad but Samantha sent her a look before she could.
"Okay, see you later Beth" Samantha said as the two girls followed the nurse out of the room. Once the girls had left not even a minute later Dean and Bobby went into Beth's room.
"How ya feeling kiddo?" Dean asked sitting down in the only chair in the room.
"Brilliant" Beth said grinning "ya know besides the broken leg and hole in my stomach" she added in a joking tone
"She's making bad jokes she's fine" Bobby said
"She'll be making bad jokes on her death bed" Dean muttered
"My jokes are fucking fantastic" Beth retorted "Besides they're better than your dad jokes"
"I don't make dad jokes" Dean argued
"You do" Beth argued back
"Will you two stop it, you're acting like children" Bobby snapped
"He started it" Beth said pointing at Dean. A silence fell over the three and they all avoided each others gaze "Where's Sammy?" Beth asked determined not to let her nearly dying make things awkward between everyone
"At Bobby's" Dean said angrily
"Probably having a party cos the old men aren't home" Beth joked pretending to miss Dean's anger causing Dean to crack a smile and Bobby to shake his head.
"Ah good you're here" The Doctor said walking into the room "I assume you're her father" he said turning to Bobby who nodded "and you're her brother" he asked Dean
"Yes" Dean said standing up
"Although she's technically healthy and good to go I would like to keep her in overnight for observation just in-" he said getting cut off by Beth
"Hi still in the room" Beth said getting frustrated with the Doctor talking about her like she wasn't in the room
"Just in case anything goes wrong" The Doctor continued smiling at her
"What's the probability of something going wrong?" Bobby asked
"Very slim it's just a pre precaution we do with everyone" he explained
"We'd feel more comfortable if one of us could stay with her" Dean said well aware that the demons that attacked the girls could still be in the area and the hospital wasn't exactly warded against them
"I'm afraid we don't offer a family member to stay if the patient is over 18" The doctor said
"She has dependency issues, she won't cope if none of us is here" Bobby said the lie rolling off his tongue.
"I'm afr-" the Doctor started before Beth yet again cut him off
"Yes we know you already said that. But if one of them can't stay with me I'm going with them end of" Beth snapped as Samantha and Jess came skipping into the room
"What's up hom-" Jess started "oooh you can feel the tension."
"Fine one of you stay but I'm afraid there's no bed you'll have to sleep on the chair and there won't be enough food for you." The Doctor sighed before walking out.
"So who's staying?" Beth asked
"Awh Beth gets to have a sleep over?" Jess asked "no fair" she whined
"There are still demons in the area, it's not a sleep over" Dean said
"Yes it is" Beth said grinning.
"Sleep over in a hospital. It's gonna be an interesting night." Samantha smiled.
"No you girls are gonna be staying at Bobby's." Dean said
"What no fair. Who's gonna stay with Beth then?" Jess asked pouting
"Me obviously." Dean said
"Cute" Samantha said grinning
"What ew no, fuck off" Beth yelled shocked that Samantha would even think that
"I ship it" Jess said grinning causing Beth to groan
"Deth" Samantha said deciding on the ship name
"No Bean" Jess argued
"I do not agree to this but Deth is better" Beth said
"Shut up all of you" Dean yelled but the girls ignored him
"Honestly I'm glad Chuck stopped publishing before we came in, can you imagine the ships" Samantha said
"I don't want to" Jess said shivering.
"Anyway." Dean started changing the subject. "What's the verdict on you two?"
"Well we're not dead" Jess said smiling
"Well that's the bad news what's the good news?" Beth asked grinning
"Fucking hilarious" Samantha said rolling her eyes "We're fine just a knock to the head and a couple of bruises" she told Dean
"So you're all good to go back to Bobby's?" He asked
"Yes but can we stay until visiting hours are up?" Jess said. Dean nodded sitting back down in the chair. The girls and Bobby stayed until 8pm when they were kicked out by a nurse bringing blankets for Dean saying that they should have left two hours ago.
The car ride back was silent everyone deep in thought. Bobby had no idea what to do with Sam, he saw him slit open the girls throat and drink her blood, it wasn't natural it was monstrous. Sam was a monster. But he didn't want to do anything irrational without Dean's help. Meanwhile the girls were worrying about Beth, and how close they came to dying. How close they were to Lucifer rising. What does it mean for them when Lucifer rises, what happens to them? And why didn't Sam show up to the hospital? Beth nearly died doesn't he care? It doesn't take that long to burn some bodies, surely.
Back at the hospital after a few futile attempts at conversation on Beth's part the two fell into silence both consumed in their thoughts and what was in store for them and the others.
"Dean?" Beth asked quietly
"Mmmm?" he asked
"Why didn't Sam come to the hospital?" She asked
"He was cleaning up" Dean said not wanting her to know what happened; he didn't want her to worry about Sam.
"You know you're a terrible liar right?" she asked smiling at him
"It doesn't matter. Go to sleep" he muttered getting up to turn the light off
"It obviously does matter otherwise you wouldn't have lied" she said getting angry. Why did Dean never trust the girls? He and Sam never told them anything and it was getting on her nerves they were as much a part of this as them. They were like brothers to the girls they worried about the boys as much as the boys worried about them, yet they still wouldn't tell them anything.
"We'll talk in the morning. Go to sleep" Dean said trying to brush it off
"No because you won't, you never do. Do Samantha and Jess know what happened?" She asked
"No" he answered quickly already fed up of her questions
"Are you going to keep it from them too? Are you going to keep us all in the dark? He's like our brother you both are why don't you tell us anything?" she snapped the anger getting to her.
"Because making you worry isn't going to help you right now" He snapped back "all you need to worry about is getting better Sam doesn't matter" Dean said "now go to sleep, god damn it"
"Fine" she huffed moving carefully into a comfortable position that didn't hurt her leg or stomach to sleep in in. Beth fell asleep soon after, the medication having made her drowsy. Dean however was wide awake, worrying about the girls. They could have lost them today, especially Beth. He was also worried about Sam; he was still drinking the demon blood. He didn't know what to do. He looked over at Beth, who was fast asleep. How were they going to keep her safe when she wouldn't even be able to walk?
"Cas, you got your ears on? Listen Beth's hurt, we need your help. The demons attacked, we nearly lost her and the other two. And Sam… He's off the rails. I need your help Cas. Please." Dean looked up as he finished his prayer, looking around the room for Castiel, but he didn't show.
"Douche" Dean muttered. He leaned back in the chair, preparing for the long night watch.
"You too asshat" Beth muttered pretending to be asleep
…
The next morning Beth was discharged and given a whole host of pills that she had to take daily, crutches and a wheelchair for her to use while the wound in her stomach healed. When her and Dean got back to Bobby's the other two girls ran to Beth taking the wheelchair off Dean and taking her to the living room while Dean went and found Bobby
"Have you told the girls what happened?" He asked Bobby
"No, what are we gonna do with him?" Bobby asked
"He's a monster, we treat him like one" Dean said
"Panic room?" Bobby asked. Dean just nodded getting a beer out of the fridge for him and Bobby. Once they had finished their beers and figured out how to get Sam into the panic room Dean went down to the basement to wait for Sam. "Hey Sam!" Bobby yelled
"Yeah?" Sam asked walking into the kitchen
"I need to show you something I found on the seals. I left it in the basement" Bobby said heading down into the basement Sam followed behind and went straight into the panic room where Bobby gestured. As soon as he was in there Dean slammed the door shut and locked it.
"Guys, hey hey what?" Sam asked walking to the barred window looking out at his Brother and Bobby. Bobby ignored him and closed the window locking that as well. "This isn't funny!" Sam yelled as Dean and Bobby left the basement "Guys!" Sam yelled one last time before Bobby shut the door to the basement
"What's going on?" Samantha asked as she walked past them to the living room with three glasses of water "Where's Sam?" She asked
"In the panic room" Bobby said as him and Dean followed Samantha into the living room where the other two girls were sitting
"What?" Jess asked shocked
"It's for his own good" Dean said
"What did he do?" Samantha asked
"Or are you not gonna tells us?" Beth asked the anger from the night before still clear in her voice.
"When you girls were attacked Sam slit a demons throat to drink her blood, that's how he gets his powers by being a blood sucking leech" Dean snapped
"Oh" Jess said unsure of what else to say
"He's addicted so we're making him go cold turkey" Bobby said
"So you're locking him down there until he no longer needs or wants the blood?" Samantha asked. Dean nodded and the four fell into a silence.
"We're gonna stay here until Beth's out of the wheelchair at least" Dean said "Then we'll get to work on getting the seals and stopping Lucifer from rising"
"Have you tried calling Cas? Maybe he can heal Beth." Bobby suggested.
"Yeah I tried but he didn't show" Dean replied. Suddenly Castiel showed up
"Cassy!" Samantha said happily. Castiel ignored her and turned straight to Dean.
"You didn't come when I called you" Castiel said angrily
"I've had bigger problems" Dean said gesturing to Beth who smiled and waved at the angel "And you didn't come when I called you so I guess we're even. Now heal her." Dean said angrily.
"No" Castiel said bluntly.
"Why not?" Dean asked slightly shocked
"I've been to heaven Dean and I learnt something while I was away." Castiel began explaining.
"And?" Dean asked interrupting.
"I serve heaven. I don't serve man and I definitely don't serve you." Castiel said before disappearing with a flutter of wings.
"CAS!" Dean yelled as Castiel disappeared. "Son of a bitch."
"Those dick bag angels have gotten to him." Jess muttered
"So I'm stuck in this fucking wheelchair?" Beth asked angrily "cooped up in this fucking hole. I'm gonna go fucking insane all because Cas decided now was a good time to be loyal to heaven. Fucking cunt"
"Okay calm down" Dean said to Beth "we'll figure this out."
