Chapter 5 ~ Hang out

The next day broke in when I woke up by the sunlight of the Sunday morning. I stretched while I slowly opened my eyes to see a cat staring into my eyes.

"You're hungry, huh?" I asked Happy not really waiting for an answer but of course he had to meow his "Aye". I sat up to pet him onto his head which caused him to purr. Then I turned to my left side and saw that the pink haired idiot was still sleeping. Looking onto the clock I recognized how late it already was

"Geez it's already 10 and you're still sleeping." I said out loud while looking at him. I had to admit he looked really cute and innocent while sleeping, just like a little kid. But I had to wake him, since his cat was meowing in the background. So I tapped him on the shoulder.

"Natsu," I said and he moved.

"Yeah I want another potion of fire chicken, mhmm." Still sleeping and obvious dreaming about food I shook him this time and his eyes flew open.

"Ah morning Luce," his tired voice said "Slept well?"

"Uh-huh," I nodded and pointed towards the blue cat behind me "but Happy's hungry."

Following where I was pointing Natsu tiredly rubbed his eyes.

"Five more minutes."

"Ehhh? What about Happy?"

"He can wait," rolling my eyes I stood up and walked into the kitchen to do what I've done yesterday. Remembering the cupboard and what Natsu told me, I took Happy's bowl to put some food into it. Meanwhile Happy was the whole time around my feet and it was hard not to stomp onto his paws or tail.

But after I finally somehow managed not to step onto the cat, I put the bowl down and the said blue cat rushed there and started to gorge it all down his little throat. After using the bathroom I walked back to Natsu's room and sighed since he fell asleep.

"Natsu, stand up," I said and walked to the side of the bed. Looking at the sleeping male I wondered if his his hair would feel spiky – because it totally looked like that. My right hand slowly reached forwards to grab his hair but before my hand got there to touch it, his eyes opened.

Stepping backwards, I felt flushed and my head was read and burning.

"What are you doing, Luce?"

"N-Nothing! I-I just wanted to wake you since you fell asleep a-again."

"And why are you stuttering like a chief?"

"I-I'm not stuttering at all!"

"And why is your head red?"

"Because it's hot in here!"

"Do you have a fever?" He immediately stood up to grab my forehead to check my temperature.

"Y-You" I lost my voice, blushing hard.

Concentrate Lucy, he's an idiot.

"I-I don't have a fever," I said trying to stay as calm as possible while looking into his onyx eyes.

"You sure, your head is really warm you know?"

"I'm sure of it Natsu, it's just your imagination or your hand is colder than my forehead." I took his hand away from my forehead.

"Okay" the male said "but if you feel dizzy or anything, tell me."

I sighed "Yeah, fine."

Standing in front of him I mustered the good looking male who looked into some other direction. I looked straight into his eyes and melted of the sight.. It was like looking up to the stars which I loved so much. Looking up to his hair, I still wondered if it's all natural without any gel or something. Can it even stay like this without nothing at all? I wanted to touch it so badly but I can't just do it. It looked so spiky like Gray's hair but I know Gray's hair is really soft. I remembered how he gave me the permission to touch it. But Juvia caught me touching his hair which caused her to go insane. Of course I tried to explain everything to her but I'm not sure if she believed me that day back. I lost in my mind when I suddenly noticed Natsu was staring at me.

"Hey Lucy, what is so funny?" he asked with a concerned look.

"Huh?"

"You're smiling."

Remembering that thought I had in my mind I waved it off.

"Ah that, never mind. I was just remembering something funny." I flashed a grin towards him.

"And what was so funny?"

I tipped my pointer finger on my chin and smiled. "You know I once wanted to touch Gray's hair since it looked totally spiky – like yours. And Juvia caught me at that moment were my hand was on top of Gray's head, touching his hair. Ever since then Juvia began calling me her love rival which I can't explain why. I tried explaining it to her since she's half obsessed with Gray but I don't know if she believed me."

"Wait, you touched Gray's hair?" I nodded and clapped my hands together. "Yeah it looked so spiky and all but it was so soft! Never thought that."

"I see" the pink haired mail replied while looking down onto the floor, expressionless.

"Then tell me" Natsu said and looked up "which hair is softer?" With that Natsu took my right hand and led it to the top of his head where it landed on top of his pink hair. My eyes widened and I felt the heat rush to my cheeks. I didn't dare to move but since I wanted to touch his hair, I just did it without thinking about anything else. Then I realized it: his hair was super soft!

The male's hand was on the one I was touching his hair with. With his free hand he covered his face and looked to his right side to avoid my eyes.

"So what do you think?" Not realizing I was still touching his hair I immediately took my hand back.

"It's not soft but spiky," I declared. His wide eyes looked back at me.

"What? My hair's not soft?" he asked while touching his hair to prove me wrong.

"Luce, there has to be something wrong with your hand because my hair is soft!"

Watching him going insane I just laughed.

"W-What is so funny?!" the male asked with a concerned look.

"Ah sorry but the sight was just hilarious!"

"Don't laugh at me!"

"Yeah sorry." Soon or later I stopped laughing while Natsu was pouting like a child.
"I bet your hair is not soft too!"

"It is!" This time I was the one pouting and looked away angrily. We were switching roles since Natsu started laughing. The pink haired idiot patted my head and flashed his usual toothy grin to me.

"I'm sorry Luce. I know your hair is soft." Looking back at the male my eyes widened. I'm not going to admit it that his hair truly is soft. This will be my little secret. The minutes flew by and we were just looking into each other's eyes. Natsu stepped closer and his head moved down to mine. I blushed but I couldn't look away from him. His black orbs were half closed.

Wait, he's not going to kiss me, is he?

He got closer within every second but stopped by the sound of his cat.

"Meow!" turning away he covered his face with his hand again "you had a fly on your head." I couldn't move. My face felt hot and my mind was blank.

It was 11 by the time Natsu started to make breakfast while I was sitting on the bed thinking of what just happened. If Happy wouldn't have meowed, would he had kissed me or was he just staring at me and coming closer to me for no reason? I shook my head from side to side hoping that I would forget already about the incident. The blue cat meanwhile was laying on my lap which I didn't know why. He didn't liked me yesterday so why would he like me now? I was petting him from head to tail and he started to purr immediately. I soon stopped patting him and looked up to the ceiling staring holes into the lamp that was hanging there. I shrieked when I felt something on my hand which I thought was some bug. But when I looked down I saw that Happy licked the hand he scratched me yesterday. I smiled down at the blue cat and patted him again.

"It doesn't hurt, you don't have to worry," I talked to him like he could understand what I've just said.

"Luce! Come here, I'm done!" Natsu meanwhile finished preparing breakfast obviously. I put Happy down from my lap and he pouted and yawned but lay back down to continuing sleeping. As I walked to where Natsu was I could already smell the breakfast the pink haired prepared for the two of us. The flavor and salty scent of bacon crawled up to my nose. In the dining room I saw Natsu putting two glasses of orange juice down onto the table. When he caught me standing into the door frame he immediately grinned and said "There you are! Set down already!." He then vanished back into the kitchen. Meanwhile I was sitting down and eyeballed the table. Except for the orange juice, Natsu also put down two mugs with coffee inside, bred with melted cheese on it and bacon right beside, ready to get grabbed from someone. All in one it looked tasty. I don't know how long he was preparing breakfast since I was lost in my thoughts but I don't think it took him longer than 20 minutes.

"You like scrambled eggs right?" The said male came back from the kitchen and put down two plates with scrambled eggs down.

"Yeah, thank you Natsu!"

While eating we spoke about work.

"So we'll see tomorrow at work, right?" Natsu asked and I nodded.

"Yeah but I want to ask someone tomorrow if I can have a day off. Probably Erza or Mira" I mumbled and watched Natsu shoving the food into his mouth. He didn't even really chew it!

"Really, when?"

"I don't know, Wednesday? I just need a day to relax." I took a bite of my scrambled eggs and then swallowed it down my throat. Natsu has almost finished by the time.

"Natsu you know you shouldn't shove your food inside your mouth and then swallow it after some bites. You have to chew too, otherwise it's bad for your stomach."

He grinned at me "Don't worry Luce, I'm fine." I just sighed and finished my dish. I was about to grab my plate to put it into the sink but Natsu was faster and told me to stay. I do as he said and stayed but watched Natsu's back when he cleaned both plates. Then he put everything back to where it belonged to like the salt. Silence broke in when he finished everything and washed his hands.

Suddenly the bell rang and Natsu went to open his door.

"Yo Natsu" I could hear a familiar voice.

"What are you doing here, Gray?!" Natsu asked his best friend.

"I just came to visit to ask how it went with L-" he broke and his eyes widen when he saw me coming from the kitchen.

"L-Lucy! Yeah hey Lucy, I didn't know you were here" the raven haired male stuttered.

"Hello Gray" I smiled "I got invited to stay the night. We played games and-"

"Oh you were staying that night!" Now he was looking at a certain someone slightly annoyed. "You could have told me, fire brain!"

"How did you call me icicle?!"

"You're a creepy fire demon!"

"And you're a frosty snowman!" I sighed and watched them continuing their childish behavior.

"Lucy, I'll get you out of his claws!" Grays said and grabbed my shoulders and got me out of my thoughts.

"W-Well I should leave, I guess. See you-" I got cut off again.

"I'll walk you home" both males said at the same time. They glared at each other and I had to giggle. They were just hilarious.

"Well at least you have some manners," Gray said grinning.

"Could say the same about you." We grabbed everything we needed and left. On our way home they were restarting their fight, leaving me there shaking my head from the left to the right. It was cold outside. Note: Bring gloves with you next time.

"Lucy you know one day when Natsu came to me he said he'll grab something from my fridge because his fridge was empty. When I told him to buy something he looked at me confused. You should've seen his face!" the black haired male laughed, remembering the past.

"Wait you went someday to my house and asked for some ice!"

"You came to take a shower into my apartment because you broke your shower!"

"It wasn't my fault!"

"Yes it was!"

The two always get me to laugh, I thought and forgot about the cold and cloudy weather. Our aim came closer and closer and I could see my apartment far away. Every step we came closer to my apartment it went more quiet. When I glanced from Gray to Natsu, both of them on each side, I saw how they were thinking about something. Just my imagination, I thought and shook my head.

"Lucy how about next time we grab some dinner?" Gray asked and I just nodded.

"Sounds great," I replied.

"Hey snowman, I wanted to ask her out!" Natsu huffed.

"My bad," the raven haired male grinned.

There we go again.

"You're always in my way" Natsu shouted.

"It's not my fault you don't have the guts to ask a girl out, plus I want to spend some time with her too. Remember we know a long time now."

"But I'll get to know her more better then already. Even more better than you." The pinkette smirked.

Their foreheads touched while continuing their fight and I sighed.

"How can I stop this?" I nearly whispered and looked up to the heaven as if the answer would stand there, somewhere in the clouds.

"Lucy!" I could hear a familiar voice shout my name. I turned to the direction it came from and watched a redhead running over to us. Both Natsu and Gray seemed frozen when they heard her voice.

"Hey Erza, what are you doing here?"

"I wanted to visit you and ask you if you would like to go shopping with me. Maybe we'll ask other girls too and make a girls day."

"I'd love to, have you planned already which day?"

"Of course I have. What about next Saturday?" I nodded in agreement.

"Yes I don't have anything planned. We could ask Juvia and Levy-chan too!" I said excited.

"Yes and I'll ask Mirajane and Lisanna."

"Oh hi E-Erza," a sweating Natsu said.

"I didn't notice you two until now."

"Don't mind them, they're just fighting all the time." I crossed my arms over my chest, giving them a glance.

"What, fighting?!" her head snapped towards the said males angrily. "I told you not to fight otherwise I have to learn both of you some manners.

"N-No we're just joking around. We're best friends, right Natsu?" Gray wrapped his arm around Natsu's shoulder while he did the same.

"Y-Yeah." he agreed afraid.

The walk ended with Erza coming with us the last steps until we all stood in front of my front door.

"Well Lucy, I'll send you the details about our shopping day on your phone," Erza smiled and I nodded.

I got the key out of my bag and put it into the key hole to turn it around. A klick was heard, signaling me to open the door knob. I swung open the door and turned around, facing my friends.

"Thanks for walking me back," I smiled kindly at all of them.

A no problem, Luce came from Natsu and a anytime again soon from Gray. Erza agreed with them.

"Well then Lucy, see you." Erza waved her hand and turned around.

We said our goodbyes and they left. When they were out of my sight, I sighted and walked into my apartment to change into comportable clothes. Then I grabbed a book and started reading and soon the day ended.

Hey guys! I know I haven't been around for a really long time. It's because last year was really hectic. First learning half a year to pass the exam which was really important for me, then having no time and it ended with a little change. So I really do apologize to you, I know you're mad and most of you propbably stopped having hopes for this story (maybe another one too). Will try my best to make good everything.
