that night when he should have been sleeping Dean was thinking. He was worried about Cas. About what would happen if Metatron caught up with him, or any of the angels for that matter. I mean they weren't known for their compassion, they might just kill him because it was his grace that threw them out of heaven. After hours of these thoughts going round in his head he came to a realisation. He was here for a case and he didn't even know the first thing about it. But Sam did. Sam had been researching it and Gabriel was the angel. With that the obvious solution to his worries about Cas presented themselves to him and he was finally able to drift off into a restless sleep.

Sam woke early the next morning and looked over at Gabriel his eyebrows rising. For the archangel, at some point during the night had got hold of a suit and tie and was now wearing them as he made himself some fake ID.

"Morning Gabriel." Sam said as he slowly pulled himself out of bed. He wished he could go on the case with Dean and Gabriel but he knew that his brother would just put him on babysitting duty, again. Which was not fun. All Cas seemed to do was draw and stare at the door waiting for the other two to return. Sam wondered if he did that with the others as well when he wasn't there or if the fledgling just didn't like his company. He hoped it was the first, but he was well aware it could be the last, he really wasn't good with kids, even if he and Cas had seemed to found a reasonable relationship while the angel was like this. He just hoped they could get Cas back to how he used to be, for all there sakes. At least now he guessed Gabriel knew what the problem was and could work on finding an answer.

"Deans gone for breakfast." Gabriel said in lieu of a greeting when he noticed Sam looking round for his brother.

At that Sam just nodded, but before he could think about going to have a shower the door opened and his brother walked in wearing his usual jeans and tee with a plaid shirt on top.

"Morning sleeping beauty." he smirked at Sam making his brother give him a bitchface which worked really well with his hair sticking up everywhere.

"Right Dean-o. All done. You better get ready so we can head off to the crime scene." Gabriel said putting down his new fake FBI badge. He was kinda looking forward to doing this subterfuge.

Castiel on the other hand was trying really hard not to let his face show his disappointment. His brother had already explained that he couldn't go with them and as such he would be spending the day with Sam. He didn't mind that really, he liked Sam a lot, it was just that Gabriel and Dean seemed to make things more, fun? Was that the right word? Sam seemed to spend most of his time reading, and while Castiel did love learning new things, now he was out of the bunker he wanted to go outside. He wanted to see the world, and not be stuck in a motel room which he had a sinking feeling would be want was to happen when Sam was looking after him.

"Yeah about that. I was umm... thinking that maybe you should take Sam with you." Dean replied rubbing the back of his neck as if embarrassed.

"Really?" Sam asked, he couldn't believe he was hearing right. His brother was passing up on working on a case? Really his brother?

"Well yeah, I mean you seem to know the case and I'm sure Cas and I can think of something to do today. I mean I saw a great looking park just down the road so..." at that Dean trailed off as Sam was just looking at him in surprise.

"Right, yeah, great." and with that Sam almost ran to the bathroom to have a quick shower before his brother changed his mind.

Castiel just sat the staring at Dean. He was going to spend the day with him, out of the bunker. They were going to go somewhere called a park. He didn't know what one of them was but he was very keen to find out.

Gabriel on the other hand was looking at Dean with understanding his eyes. He knew that Dean wanted to make sure that Castiel was safe, and what better way to do that than to look after him himself? Gabriel would also bet that it had crossed Deans mind that if Metatron was after Cassie, and he was with Sam then the angel wouldn't hesitate to kill Sam to get to him. And he knew Dean would never let anything happen to Sam. Not that he said any of this aloud, instead he just smirked at Dean before he spoke.

"This park, is for Cassie to play in or you?"

Sam and Gabriel left 15 minutes later, Sam practically running out of the door in his excitement to get going, Dean just shook his head. Damn his little brother was more of a kid than Cas he thought, though he did have to re-evaluate that when he turned to find Cas standing at the door shifting from foot to foot. It was obvious that the little angel couldn't wait to leave as well.

"Okay Cas, let me just grab some stuff and we'll go." Dean said to him making a massive smile appear on the fledglings face. Dean moved round grabbing his wallet, phone and angel blade (just in case) and then joined Cas at the door. "So you ready?"

"Yes Dean, very much." Castiel replied excitement evident in his voice.

"Alright then, lets go to the park." Dean said opening the door for the kid and following him out.

Once outside Dean grabbed Cas' hand, the angel didn't protest, he had seen on the television this morning that human children held there parents hands when out and about, and Gabriel had impressed on him the need to behave human while they were here. Though one question did cross his mind as they walked down the sidewalk and he didn't think it would be inappropriate to ask.

"Dean what is a park?" He asked making the hunter just look down at him and chuckle before he replied.

"you'll see Cas, you'll see." was all Dean would say to him making the fledgling frown. He wanted to know now.

Of course once they rounded the corner Castiel did in fact see, though he still did not understand what a park was or its purpose.
