Sam and Gabriel's first stop was the sheriff's office. While Gabriel was pretty sure he knew what they were dealing with Sam insisted that they be 100% sure and as such wanted to get the case files for the previous victims.

What neither of them expected when they arrived was to find that there had been yet another victim in Rexford, at the local high school. Going over there to investigate they found themselves confronted by a sight that turned even Sam's stomach, and he had been doing this job a long time. It was like the body had just exploded everywhere. This scene confirmed what Gabriel already knew. This was the work of a Rit Zien. It was there painless way of killing those who could not be saved.

While Sam talked to the girls friend Gabriel wondered what the connection was, just what was going on? why was this girl chosen to die? He couldn't believe what one of 'family' was doing to the humans. This wasn't what there father had made them for after all. He overheard the dead girls friend tell Sam how she had been upset by her boyfriend humiliating her and he closed his eyes. It seemed that the Rit Zien was no longer going after just those who were suicidal, but those who had any kind of emotional pain. It was a kind of pain that the angel would not be able to fix, they didn't understand emotions. Oh god what had he done? He had been so blind, hidden away in the Winchesters secret bunker, pretending the rest of the world didn't exist. Because it did and it did matter and he needed to find a way to get the angels back to heaven. Because he didn't ever want to see this again. An innocent human caught up in something that none of them understood.

Castiel stood and looked at the strange things in the middle of the field with a puzzled expression on his face. He did not understand what the purpose of the metal contraptions were. Finally after intently staring at them and still not getting any answers he turned to Dean.

"What are they for?" He asked confused.

At that Dean chuckled. Of course Cas had no idea of what to do in a play park. Oh well it looked like Dean was going to have to show him. What a hardship that would be. Smiling down at the fledgling he pulled on his hand.

"Come on buddy, I'll show you." He said before leading Castiel over to the climbing frame and explaining what he was supposed to climb up and across and then come down the slide at the end. Castiel did not understand why Dean was saying he should do such an unproductive thing, but looking round he saw other children do it. Maybe it was training for human children? In which case he needed to do it to act human. He cautiously moved towards the climbing area and still with a puzzled look on his face proceeded up. Once he got to the top he climbed onto the platform which had three different paths coming off of it. Turning he was analysing them all when he heard Dean, though he in truth he was talking loud enough that Castiel believed everyone around them could hear him as well.

"Yeah, well done Cas, that was awesome." Dean shouted up to the baby angel when he reached the top. Not that it took Cas long, it seemed that angels were good at climbing.

"It was not difficult Dean. I can climb." Castiel replied absently as he viewed the paths in front of him working out which would offer the quickest route to the end.

"Yeah okay. So where you going to go from there?" Dean asked smiling up at him. Cas looked kinda cute up there in his kids trench coat and with a frown on his face as he stared at each path as if it held the secrets of the universe. He was so going to have to remind him of this if he and Gabriel got Cas' grace back. Not if, when.

"This way I believe will lead me to the final objective quicker." Castiel finally spoke as he finished calculating angles and distances to the slide and pointed to the monkey bars.

"Cas that's not the point." Dean started to say in an exasperated voice until he caught sight of the kids face and saw the look of upset that had appeared and therefore rushed to reassure Cas that he was doing fine. "But yeah okay lets go that way."

Castiel had thought he was doing so well until Dean told him he that was not the point. Surely the objective was to get to the end in the quickest time and shortest distance, but it seemed that Castiel had missed what it was this apparatus were supposed to train the children for. It was very confusing.

"What is the point then Dean?" He asked not moving from the platform and crossing his arms. He wanted to know the mission so he could do it right.

"Well, it's to have fun Cas." Dean tried to explain, though as he had learnt of late, fun was a hard concept for the baby angel to grasp.

"How is climbing on this fun?" Castiel asked confused again. Is this truly what human children found fun?

"Well...It just is I guess?" Dean said he was just as confused as Cas now, which really didn't help matters much.

"I don't understand Dean." Castiel replied in a small voice. He so wanted to be a good human child, but if he did not understand how was he to play the part?

"Well why don't you go across the monkey bars and down the slide and then see how you feel okay?" Dean suggested. At least that way they wouldn't be having this conversation in front of everyone then.

"Very well." Castiel agreed and with the he moved towards the 'monkey bars' and placed his hands on the nearest one and slid of the platform. Of course it was at this point he realised he had no idea how he was supposed to move to the next.

"Dean." he shouted when he realised he was stuck. How was it the humans did this?

"Hey buddy, its okay I'm here what's up?" Dean asked from beneath him making it so he had to bend his head down to see him.

"I don't know what to do." Castiel replied in a fearful voice. He felt ashamed that he couldn't do this and he didn't want to get stuck here.

"Okay buddy not a problem, you need to get yourself swinging backwards and forwards and then once you're doing that you transfer one hand to the next bar and then the hand at the back onto the one in front and so on until you get to the end." Dean tried to explain, through it really wasn't that easy.

"Are you saying I use the conservation of angular momentum to transverse the apparatus in a horizontal movement?" Castiel asked just to make sure he understood Dean properly. Of course Dean was now the one with a confused look on his face.

"Umm, yeah sure that." He said nodding, not entirely sure what that meant, but he hoped it was Cas' way of saying just what he did.

"Very well, I will try." Castiel replied in a serious tone and with a nod before his brow furrowed in concentration and his tongue stuck out of the side of his mouth as he slowly started to swing his body. Once he had a good movement going he risked transfering his hand to the next bar. When he managed to catch hold of it and keep hold he let out a squeal of excitement that he had succeeded. So he continued, traversing the monkey bars in no time. Once he was on the next platform along he jumped up and down with glee at his accomplishment. He'd done it, just as Dean said. Looking down at the man from the platform Castiel could see the massive grin split his face at his achievement and Castiel for the first time maybe thought that he was starting to understand how human children found this fun.

After that Dean found it almost impossible to keep up with Cas as he ran from one piece of equipment to the next demanding he tell him how to 'play' on it so he could master them all.

Cas finally exhausted the play park (and Dean) just after lunch time. Dean was thinking it was time to go get food, but Cas had one more request that he really couldn't refuse, no matter how hungry he was.

"Dean could we go for a walk so I could see the flowers please? I love them so. They are so perfect." he asked looking up at Dean with a pleading look on his face.

"Sure, but no running this time okay? For all your legs are short your damn fast." Dean grumbled good naturedly. He liked seeing Cas like this. Carefree and happy.

"Of course I am Dean, I'm an angel." Castiel replied with complete sincerity making Dean chuckle.

"Yeah okay, lets go look at the flowers." He said grabbing the fledglings hand.

"And the bees, I love bees." Castiel replied with an excited smile on his face as he looked around for the best spot to find flowers and bees.

"Yeah Cas, I know." Dean replied with a wince as that sentence caused the memory of the time that Cas had turned up very adult and very naked except for being covered with bees to surface in his mind. He really would prefer to never remember that again. Thank you very much.
