The next morning Joe woke up to the sound of someone knocking at his door. He was there lying hoping that whoever it was would go away. He was just so comfy under the sheets with his lover's leg wrapped around his… the knocking continued, he sighed, punched the bed and got up on his feet. He walked barefoot to the door, yawned in order to oxygenate his brain - or else the next thing he would punch wouldn't be a bed - and opened the door, not all of it just enough to take a peek outside.
"What do you want?" Joe asked sleepy
"I just came to…see if you…if everything's alright around here, you know" Jon said trying to look 'normal'
"Don't you have anything better to do?" Joe snapped rubbing his eyes and hiding himself behind the door "Seriously, dud, let me sleep… it's our day off"
"Can I come in?" He slightly pushed the door but Joe quickly stopped it before Jon could put his eyes on the bed where Colby was still asleep
"NO!" His voice sounded louder, he looked back to see if he had woken up his lover "I'm naked, dude…" Not thinking in a better excuse
"I've seen you naked, bro"
"Why do you want to come in?" Jon didn't answer, he was too busy trying to look inside the other's room "I… I'm with someone, alright!?" Joe gave in
"Oh, I see… Who!?"
"It doesn't matter, okay!?... Seriously, Jon, if you keep doing that you'll dislocate a vertebra!" Jon was still trying to figure out what he deep down already knew, but all he could see was a foot outside the sheets "Go away… Now!"
"Meet you at breakfast?"
"Maybe…bye" H closed the door and took a deep breath "damn" he sigh
"Good morning" Colby greeted with a husky voice
"Good morning, babe" Joe kissed him on the lips biting and slightly pulling the lower one
"Who was it?" Colby asked "I heard voices… am I going crazy…er?
"No, you're not" He chuckled "It was Jon. He wanted to come in for no apparent reason, I think he's suspicious" Colby bit his lip and looked at the taller one with guilt in his eyes, sort of like a puppy when he tears the house apart "What…?" Joe asked
"I'm sure he's suspicious…"
"What did you do?"
"Nothing, literally. I just went to the balcony to watch the beach… let's just say that Renee saw a little more than just the beach… and since she was with Jonathan…well…" Colby bit his fingernail
"That explains a lot… we gotta tell him, don't we?" Joe responded
"Are you nuts?" Colby got up on his elbows
"He's going to find out, eventually, so what's the problem?"
"What's the problem? Have you been smoking? We can't tell him, at least not yet… it's still really fresh"
"You're right, although there's no plausible justification" Joe argued but didn't exactly know why, but neither did Colby. "Want to go eat breakfast?"
"Not really" Colby looked at him with a creepy face
"Oh no, no, no, no, I know that look… what are you thinking?"
"Breakfast in bed…maybe…"
"I was once told 'If you want breakfast in bed, sleep in the kitchen' plus we sure don't want to give Jon any more reasons to be suspicious, right? So we'll just eat breakfast in his company as he suggested"
"Fine" He kept looking at Joe like a crazy man
"Okay, what now?"
"Someone's looking good this morning" Colby made the comment running his eyes from Joe's head to his toes
"I'm not wearing anything" He looked down to his naked body and back at Colby
"Exactly!" Colby winked and Joe grinned
"Are you blushing? You are, aren't you?" The two toned man jumped out of bed and walked to Joe to tickle him, he wasn't ticklish but he was laughing so hard his cheeks hurt
"Go away! I'm taking a shower!"
Do you need any help?" The brown eyed one asked him checking the time on his cell" Not really, but I sure could use some company!" Joe teased turning the water on.
After the shower, while Joe put his clothes on, Colby stared at his last night clothes "I have to go to my room, I need to get dressed. See you downstairs?"
"Sure" Colby left walking in his boxers with his clothes on his arms though the corridor
Colby dressed up and headed the elevator. It stopped at the 6th floor where Jon and Renee entered
"What's up" Jon greeted
"Hey" Renee followed
"Hi guys, are you going for breakfast?"
"Yes, do you know where Joe is?" Jon asked and his girlfriend giggled
"No, why would I?" Colby tried to look chilled. The elevator finally reached the ground, they got out and saw Joe who was waiting for them
"Morning! I didn't know you were coming, Colbs" He bit his lip to stop himself from laughing "I'm here forever, where have you been?" Colby had to cover his mouth in order to shut the giggle that would come out of it. Of course they weren't as discreet as they thought they were but Jon and Renee were looking at them like they were crazy
"Am I missing something?" Renee whispered to Jonathan, he shrugged.
They sat around a table, next to a family of four, a little boy, a teenage girl and their parents
"Oh dear lord, I can't even… I'm hyperventilating… It's the Shield! Thank you God, for hearing my prayers!" The teenage girl whispered to her father a little bit louder than what a whisper should sound like, the four friends heard "She's more beautiful live" The girl continued
"Dean Ambrose rocks!" The little boy said "Sis, go tell him!"
"What, no…you go tell him…okay, I'll go." She told her brother "Okay, chill out!" She spoke to herself. She approached them with her younger brother hiding behind her and she asked for selfies. They made those siblings' day
"So what are you planning on doing today?" Renee asked
"Well, I'll probably go to my house in the morning but then I'll have my afternoon free" Colby answered picturing his schedule on his mind
"Unlike Colby here, my day's a little more… complicated, so morning: sleep, Afternoon: sleep, oh and guess what I'm doing tonight: sleep" Joe said counting his fingers
"That's a hell of a day!" Colby chuckled "What about you two?"
"We'll just chill out and have a nice day at the spa… and we'll probably make out" Renee joked
"Yes, we'll definitely make out" Jon winked "Joe, you should go to the beach, you know… It's Florida, it's hot… invite C.J., she told us she was free all day"
"See if Stuart is free as well" The younger man suggested
"I heard my name" Stuart approached them "What's going on?"
"Would you like to go to the beach today?" Joe invited
"You're not going home?" He asked, Joe shook his head in response, he was only going the next night after work "Well, I'm sorry, mate, I'm busy today…"
"It's okay"
"Have fun though"
Okay, so I gotta find my last hope, Catherine, see ya" Renee and Jon were sharing looks and pointing at Colby, who was drinking his juice, with their heads
"Well, I really need to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back" Renee finally said. When she left Jon pulled his chair in order to get closer to the table. Colby was right in front of him
"Is there anything you want to tell me?" The older man asked him with his eyes wide open
"Nope, not really" Colby said honestly
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah… wait, what do you want to know, exactly?"
"Nothing, it's just… nothing. Are you seeing anybody?"
"Oh, that's what this is about. No, I'm not seeing anybody!"
"Liar!" Jon shouted
"You're a lunatic!"
"Yep, that's what they call me… but seriously, you can tell me!
"I know Jonathan, you just wouldn't understand!"
"What? That my two best friends are in love with each other? I wouldn't understand that? Colby's cheeks were burning, his face was red as a pepper. "What…? You thought I didn't know?
"A true friend is the one who thinks you're a good egg even if you're half-cracked"
