Colby was tongue tied, he was just hoping that was all a dream
"Hello? Earth to Colby…" Still nothing "Huston, we have a problem!"
"What? Wha- what are you talking about?" Colby asked. He had his eyes wide open and his hands were cold and shaking… It was supposed to be a secret, damn.
"Don't even try" The older man stopped him from lying. Colby ran his hands through his half blonde hair I gotta get out of here, I'm totally screwed He thought but there was no way he could deny it… at least to Jonathan. He was a good actor and all, but when it came to real life he was a terrible liar. "Look you don't have to say anything you don't want to, okay?" Colby kept looking at Jon not blinking at all "Just know that I support you no matter what" 'the lunatic fringe' was always goofing around and making fun of everything, but that moment he was really serious.
"What did I miss?" Renee came back
"Not much, Neenee. " Her boyfriend answered
"Then, why does he look like he saw a monster? Colbs, you know Jon for years now…" She joked and Colby finally chuckled.
Meanwhile, Joe was running around the hotel trying to find Catherine, the one person besides him who would stay at the hotel.
"Hey, Perry!" She turned around
"Whoa, what's the rush?"
"Wanna go to the beach?"
"That's it!? I thought there was a fire or something!" She chuckled "Why are you asking me?"
"What do you mean? Because friends invite friends to go to the beach, duh!"
"Well I think you just don't want to go by yourself and since I might be the only one who's staying you are asking me…"
"That too… jeez, woman, I was trying to be smooth" Cat gave him a grin
"Meet you at the front door in about 10 minutes?" He nodded and left heading the elevator "I wish I had this energy in the morning!". Cat whispered to herself
Ten minutes later they both were at the front door
"So shall we?" Joe opened the door for Catherine
"We shall" She got out and he followed. After 5 minutes walking they arrived at the beach. CJ took a deep breath as soon as she felt the warm sand under her feet "Oh beach, sweet beach! This is the first time this year I've been to the beach, can you believe it?"
"Actually, I can, blondie" He joked
"Jerk!" The ravishing Russian snapped and then stared at her own skin "I'm not that… jerk!"
"You know, the last time I've been to a beach I was really close to be eaten alive!"
"Joelle?"
"Joelle! The kid has a super power. She always gets what she wants!" He giggled
"Yeah, I bet! How's your wife, by the way? It's been ages since I last saw her."
"Ex-wife… She's fine. I'm going to see them tomorrow"
"Sorry, ex-wife…" Cat said embarrassed "Do you guys still get along?" She asked
"Are you kidding? We´re great friends, just not a great couple! And my daughter is used to the fact that her daddy is not home as much as we'd both like it… but she gets it!" Galina and Joe got married the year before, but marriage was a big step they weren't ready to take
"She absolutely adorable, she-"
"Just like her dad!" Joe interrupted her
"Oh my God, you ruined it, you ruined the conversation… I'm out of here"
"I was just messing with ya!"
"What? I can't hear you, your pride is too loud" She yelled
"Ooh burn! And 'Lana' strikes again" Joe laughed. "Respect, blondie, respect!"
"Do you wanna come for a walk?" She invited him
"No, I have to make a call" The blonde woman went for a walk along the sea, turning heads as usual. In the meantime Joe called Colby to check on him:
-Hey, Colbs, guess who's at the beach… Wait, even better... guess who's not! Joe teased him
-Ah! Cute! But you know what?
-What?
-I will be! Suck it!
-Really, that's awesome!
-I'll get there before lunch, do you want me to bring something to eat?
-Please do! You're amazing.
-I know. See ya!
Colby hang up. Joe laid down with his feet touching the sand and enjoying the warm sun of Florida. The next thing he remembers was waking up to the cold water drops falling from Colby's hair.
"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty!" Catherine greeted the moment she saw his eyes open.
"You're here" He stated…the obvious
"You don't miss much, do you?" Colby grinned "For like 45 minutes. You were asleep so I didn't want to bother you"
"Okay, Sherlock, get your ass up and let's eat! I'm starving!" Cat argued "You'd be so screwed if Lopez wasn't here…"
"You're welcome" Colby whispered to Joe
"You know, my name is still Leati… I'm just sayin' 'cause in the last couple of minutes you've called me names that are not in my ID" Joe was totally mocking a starving woman… bad idea.
As they were eating, CJ realized her water was all gone so she went to get some more.
"Jonathan knows!" Colby snapped concerned when he was sure Catherine couldn't listen anymore
"Did you tell him?"
"No! We agreed not to!" Colby said quickly "But hewas acting weird, he had this speech about how he would support me no matter what …"
"He wasn't acting weird he is weird! And you know how protective he can get when it comes to you, so don't worry that's just him being paranoid"
"Well, I hope so… seriously, imagine us telling him" Colby looked up as if he was picturing the situation "Gosh, it would be so awkward!"
"Oh man! So awkward, he'd make fun of us 24/7!" Joe laughed "But, honestly, when it comes to love the guy is the worst, remember when Renee and him started dating?"
"The poor girl almost had to ask for a kiss. He liked her so much, remember? But that asshole couldn't see she liked him back" He mocked Jon "But anyways, you're probably right"
After awhile they decided to go to the hotel, take a shower and have dinner.
"Hey, Cat, do you wanna join us at dinner?" Colby invited entering the elevator
"Renee's always the only girl in the gang" Joe continued
"Nah, sorry, guys, I have plans for tonight"
"Alright, then, have fun with your plans!" The taller said as she left the elevator
"Meet you in a bit?"
"Absolutely!"
They both went to their rooms. After taking a shower, getting dressed and calling Renee to know where they were because Jon decided to forget his phone in the hotel room, Joe went to Colby's.
"Knock knock" Joe knocked on the door
"Who's there?" Colby asked, but he was perfectly aware it was his boyfriend
"Harry"
"What the heck?" Colby was thinking That's it! He's definitely crazy but played along "Harry who, man?"
"Harry up! I want to come in"
Colby opened the door "Very funny"
"I try to"
"Well, try harder" Colby mocked. Joe frowned and crossed his arms "You're pouting?" Joe continued to… pout "What do you want? Want a-"
"I. WANT. REVENGE." Joe shouted as he speared him on to the bed. He fell on top of Colby and he kept staring into the younger man's eyes
"What?" Colby asked but there was no reply, he merely shook his head never looking away, but Colby read his thoughts and so he smiled chewing on his lower lip, looking right back at Joe.
"You're blushing" Joe teased
"You're lame" Colby quickly voiced
Joe opened his mouth pretending he was offended "You're awful"
"And you're a terrible liar!"
"Indeed, I am" they both chuckled
"Come here…" Colby pulled his lover's head towards him pressing Joe's lips onto his, but that kiss didn't last much longer
"Hey, Colby? Are you there?" Jonathan knocked on the door
"Damn! Go hide in the bathroom!" Colby whispered. He opened the door and Jon walked in.
"Who were you talking to when I knocked?"
"No one… I mean I was on the phone" He lied
"Okay… have you seen Joe? He's not answering"
"No, not really. He didn't call you? He said-"
"He did, he said to meet him outside, but I've been outside"
"Maybe he got on the other elevator as you were coming up…" Colby said nervously
"Yeah, maybe… Are you sure you haven't seen him?" Jon insisted
"Yes, I'm positive!"
"Okay, then, put some shirt on and meet us outside. See ya"
"See you"
"Bye, Joe!" Jonathan said
"Bye!" Joe replied "Shit…"
