A/N: Hey guys, so I have been pretty stuck with writing lately, and the people who use to write with me no longer do. So I decided to ask a friend for help. He's given me so much inspiration in this chapter. However his writing style is a little different so let me know if you guys like it or not please!

The boys had spent the night searching for any leads on Lucifer or the colt, but they came up short. At this point their best option would be to find a demon who knew something, but they didn't think the girls would be comfortable with that. After all the whole reason they ended up with the boys was because demons were on their asses. For now they decided to ask the girls where they wanted to go, in hope that Sam's plan would work.

"Okay so who's telling them?" Sam asked in the morning.

"You do it." Dean said instantly.

"Dean you can't just not talk to them, you go tell the girls." Sam shook his head at Dean's childishness.

"Tell the girls what?" they heard a voice from the doorway of the kitchen. Sam and Dean looked up to see all three girls standing at the door, their eyes questioning.

"Oh uh…" Dean began awkward, clearly not sure what to say.

"What Dean is trying to say, is that we've got no leads on Lucifer or the colt. So we were thinking that we could go do something fun." Sam smiled, being polite, he stomped on Dean's foot, causing Dean to jump slightly before glaring down at him.

"So where do you girls wanna go?" Dean asked, his smile clearly fake. The girls all stared at them confused, their eyebrows raised, before they turned to each other and began whispering. The boys couldn't hear a word of what they were saying. When the girls were done, they turned to look at the boys, smirks on their faces.

"We wanna go to Vegas." Samantha announced, the other girls nodding.

"What? No." Dean said instantly. There was no way he was taking the girls to Vegas. The girls would want to get all dressed up, and he would have to spend the weekend prying dodgy guys away. Not that the girls would probably take any of those guys up. The only guys he'd ever seen them take interest in was those awkward guys at the mall, something Dean definitely didn't want to think about.

"Dean-" Sam scolded.

"No way Sammy. We are not taking them to Vegas, it'll just end up in trouble. Do you wanna spend the weekend prying guys away from them?" Dean asked angry.

"Oh is somebody jealous Deanie?" Jess asked smirking.

"Besides they're not old enough." Dean pointed out, hoping that would win the argument.

"You guys have a million fake ID's. So make us some." Beth pointed out.

"Well she's not wrong I could-" Sam began before Dean cut him off again.

"No Sam. For the last time, no." Dean was final.

"Dean you agreed to this, besides we haven't been on our annual Vegas trip in about a year." Sam was doing his best to get Dean to agree, although he knew that it was somewhat a bad idea. Dean wasn't wrong, they would have to watch over them, but at the same time the girls were old enough to do what they wanted. "These girls are old enough to do what they want." Sam added, after a moment of thought.

"Yeah Dean." Beth said, smirking. Dean sighed, there was no way he was winning this argument.

"Fine, but I'm not happy about this." Dean gave in.

"Thanks Deanie, We're gonna go get ready to go." Samantha said before turning around, the other girls following behind her.

"I'm telling you this is a bad idea Sammy. Some guys just going to come along and use them." Dean grumbled. Sam scoffed.

"They're not children Dean, you gotta stop treating them like it!" Sam yelled.

"I'm not treating them-" Dean began, but Sam cut him off.

"Yes you are Dean, just like you treat me. They're eighteen. They might be younger than you. But if you want them to respect you, if you want them to open up to you again. Maybe you should start treating them like adults." Sam spoke calmly now, realising yelling wasn't getting anywhere. "Look I know you don't want to admit I'm right, because I'm not trustworthy right?"

"Sam-" Dean tried.

"No Dean, I heard you with Bobby last night. How long am I gonna be on double-secret probation?" Sam asked, raising his eyebrows. Dean shrugged, he really didn't want to have this conversation.

"Till I say so." Dean replied bluntly.

"Look. I know what I did. What I've done. And I am trying to climb out of that hole, I am, but you're not making it any easier." Sam tried to explain himself.

"So what am I supposed to do, just let you off the hook?" Dean asked.

"No. You can think whatever you want. I deserve it, and worse. Hell, you'll never punish me as much as I'm punishing myself, but the point is, if we're gonna be a team, you and I—it has to be a two-way street." Sam hoped that Dean would understand.

"So we just go back to the way we were before?" Dean asked, like he could let that happen instantly. Sam could rebound any minute for all he knew.

"No, because we were never that way before. Before didn't work." Sam answered. Dean frowned at this confused. "How do you think we got here?" Sam asked.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Dean still didn't understand.

"Dean, one of the reasons I went off with Ruby...was to get away from you." Sam murmured, he didn't really want to admit this, but it wasn't just for him, it was for the girls too.

"What?" Dean asked shocked.

"It made me feel strong. Like I wasn't your kid brother." Sam explained.

"Are you saying this is my fault?" Dean asked.

"No, it's my fault. All I'm saying is that, if we're gonna do this, we have to do it different, we can't just fall into the same rut." Sam explained.

"What do you want me to do?" Dean was unsure.

"You're gonna have to let me grow up, for starters. Those girls too." Sam finished just before the girls came walking back into the room, bags over their shoulders. Sam smiled at them, they looked excited for the first time in a while. He missed that, the way their eyes would light up. Dean stared at Sam for a moment, before turning around and looking at the girls. They looked like them old selves again for the first time since they had returned. He couldn't disappoint them now.

"You girls ready?" Dean asked, sounding enthused. The girls nodded. "Okay go get in the Impala, Sam and I will be out in a minute." Dean said. The girls turned around, leaving.

"Dean?" Sam called as Dean went to walk away, going to grab his bag.

"Yeah?" Dean replied, turning back around.

"Thanks." Sam smiled at his brother. It was clear Dean was going to give the girls a break. Dean nodded, unsure what to say, before he walked out of the room. Sam stood up, following him up the stairs to go get his bag, before they headed out to the Impala.

….

They stopped on the way, to make the girls some fake ID's. The drive to Vegas from Bobby's was a long one. They decided to stop in Denver, Colorado for the night, since Dean had been driving for about 10 hours straight. They pulled into a motel, and Sam got out to go book them a room. Dean turned around to look at the girls in the back seat who had just sat there quietly the whole drive.

"I'm surprised you girls aren't complaining you're uncomfortable or hungry" Dean murmured. The girls were always complaining about something back there.

"Guess you get used to being in the car for ages" Samantha replied shrugging her shoulders.

"And we are hungry, but we know we're gonna go get food after we get a room." Beth added.

"So what's the point in complaining?" Jess finished. Dean turned around confused, watching Sam as he walked back towards the car. Sam opened the passenger side door, before hopping back in the Impala.

"Had to get us two rooms, we can be in a room each and the girls can split." Sam suggested, going to hand Dean one of the room keys. Dean stared at the key in Sam's hand for a moment before shaking his head.

"I think the girls can look after themselves right Sammy? Let them have a room for themselves." Dean said, remembering what Sam had said. He needed to let the girls care for themselves sometimes. Sam was slightly shocked but he soon smiled. Samantha, who was in the middle of the back seat, reached forward and grabbed the key Sam was holding out of his hand.

"Thanks Dean." the girls all said at once, before they got out of the car, grabbed their bags and headed for their motel room. The boys followed them, grabbing their bags and going to the room next door. The boys threw their bags into the room, claiming a bed, before they locked the door and waited outside the girl's room. The girls walked out ready to go get some dinner. They locked the door behind them, before they all piled into the Impala and drove to a nearby diner. They found a booth, the three girls sat on one side, the boys on the other.

"So what do you girls want?" Sam asked, trying to start some conversation.

"Chicken burgers!" Jess said instantly, somewhat excited.

"I'd rather have pasta thanks." Beth spoke up, she really didn't care what she had, chicken burgers would do her just fine but the girls had a plan they needed to go through with. They could tell that Dean was getting suspicious of them. They decided they needed to try to the things they would 'normally' do. And what were the girls best at? Fighting with each other.

"Ooh look at miss fancy over there with her pasta" Samantha said the first thing that came to mind, imitating Beth's English accent.

"Ooh pasta" Jess imitated her as well.

"Oh fuck off." Beth stated loudly. Their argument seemed forced, which it very much was. Dean and Sam stared at each other confused, the girls almost never argued over food, they almost always ate the same thing. Sam raised his eyebrows as he turned to look at the three girls who had now gone quiet.

"So two chicken burgers and pasta?" He asked unsure. The three girls just nodded in reply. A waiter came over then, a guy probably not much older than the three girls. He had short dark hair, and a strong jawline that was enhanced with slight stubble. He was well built, like he worked out or played some sport.

"Hi what can I get for you?" He came over, with pen and paper in hand. He smiled at the girls, before he saw the look of anger on Dean's face.

"They'll have two chicken burgers and some pasta. I'll have a double bacon cheeseburger, Sammy will have a chicken salad and we'll get some fries for the whole table." Dean spoke, grabbing the attention of the male waitress.

"Uh okay" the guy mumbled writing down what Dean had said. "Any drinks?" he asked once he had down.

"Juice would be good thanks." Sam smiled at the guy, before turning to glare at Dean. The boy had only smiled, which was part of his job.

"Can we just get some water?" Samantha smiled at the waiter.

"Sure, I'll be back in a minute with your drinks." he replied before walking off.

"Behave Dean." Sam whispered.

"What? I didn't do anything." Dean shrugged, feigning innocence.

"Was it just me, or was he hot?" Beth asked, turning to look at the two girls.

"He was hot" Samantha replied giggling. The guy came back over with their drinks, placing a jug of water in front of the girls, and some juice for Sam. Samantha took note of the nametag on his shirt before saying "Thanks Jeremy" and smiling. Jeremy, smiled, before awkwardly stumbling away.

"Okay I've had enough of this." Dean stated.

"Dean" Sam warned.

"What Sammy?" Dean asked but ignored anything Sam could've said by turning to the girls "Did you girls not learn from the last time?" Dean asked.

"Dean stop it." Sam said again.

"They need to learn Sam, if they're going to be a part of this life then they need to learn how it has to be lived." Dean stated bluntly.

"Stop being such a Dad Dean." Jess told him.

"I said he was attractive, not that I want to marry the guy." Beth pointed out.

"Besides aren't we allowed to have a little fun?" Samantha asked smirking. "It's not like the demons are going to be on our asses all the time now. We can let our guard down a little." she added.

"You can't-" Dean began before he got interrupted.

"Oh cool it grumpy. You're just mad because you're not getting any…" Beth trailed off before adding. "Hot waitresses." Beth smirked. Dean stared momentarily shocked. Jeremy came over with their food now, ending the conversation.

"Is there anything more I can get you girls?" Jeremy asked, clearly ignoring the presence of Sam and Dean, which was a bold move on his part.

"How abo-" Samantha began before she got interrupted.

"That's everything thanks." Dean said harshly.

"I wasn't talking to you." Jeremy boldly stated turning to Dean.

"How about you-" Dean began.

"Okay, uh sorry about that." Sam interrupted Dean before things got too heated. "Uh here, keep the change." Sam said pulling a few notes out of his wallet. Jeremy and Dean glared at each other before Jeremy walked away leaving the brother and the girls alone to quickly eat their food and leave the diner. They separated when they reached the motel, the girls going to their room and the boys to theirs. As soon as the Dean closed the door, Sam began telling him off.

"Dean, what the hell man? You can't just speak to people like that. Do you really think that your actions back there have helped the girl's opinions of us?" Sam thought Dean was really going to let the girls grow up, but he had gone right back to not.

"Oh lay off Sam." Dean wasn't in the mood for this.

"No Dean, you need to make this right." Sam wasn't going to let this go. He loved those girls, and he wasn't about to let them leave because of his idiot of a brother.

"I'm taking them to Vegas what more am I meant to do." Dean couldn't believe this argument was actually happening.

"Be nice." Sam said it like it was obvious.

"I am being nice. I took them shopping-."

"Dean." Sam began cutting him off. "That's crap man, you can't win someone back just by buying them something. You need to tell them how important they are to you. I can see what this is doing to you, but you can't just give up." Sam hoped he was finally getting through to Dean. Dean sighed, he didn't want to believe Sam was right.

"Fine, but I'm not doing it tonight. I need to sleep." Dean said giving in, and making his way to bed. Sam nodded at him, sitting on his bed in thought. Maybe he should talk to the girls himself, see if they would talk better to him.

The walls in the motel were thin, and the girls could hear every word that the boys had said. They sat quietly while the argument was going on, but now that it was over the girls realised their mistake.

"We need to do this better." Samantha whispered quietly, so that the boys wouldn't be able to hear.

"I know." Was all either girl said in reply.

"Come on guys what are we going to do?" Samantha said a little bit louder, trying to get the girls to reply.

"We tried being ourselves, it's not working." Beth replied.

"Okay, we need to forgive them, or at least make them believe that we have." Jess decided to get to the point.

"Jess is right. Dean is too suspicious, they can't know about Lucy." Samantha whispered.

"Okay, but we wait til he comes to us." Beth agreed.

The next morning they set off on the rest of their long drive to Vegas. They arrived around dinner time, finding a much nicer hotel than the crappy motels they usually stay in. The girls got their own room where they wouldn't have to share beds while the guys got another room. It was the nicest place they had been in, in a long time. The boys suggested that they wait till tomorrow to go out, since they had been driving for hours, and Dean was exhausted. The girls however had other ideas, and as much as Dean wanted some sleep, there was no way he was letting them go out alone.

There's a quote in pop culture that says "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" for those that have never been to the city the true meaning of this quote will never be apparent. Vegas was the place everybody wanted to go to, but nobody actually wanted to live in. During the day? Bright lights, blue skies, traffic for miles. During the night? It was as if somebody flipped the moral coin and had the hesitant innocence of the place be devoured up in a miasma of shitty pop music and cigarette smoke.

The filth stuck to the back of Dean's throat as he swallowed down a mixture of whisky and the dregs of whatever he'd found in the glove box of the car. No matter how many showers he had, he would never get rid of the staining that appeared on him and no matter how much he wanted to leave this godforsaken shithole he'd have to stay. Lady fate was playing a cruel game and the cards she was dealing him seemed to get worse and worse.

The girls were currently sitting at the bar of the casino, cocktails in hand. Sam and Dean were sitting away from them, but still watching closely. Sam was much more relaxed, while Dean's frustrations were evident on his gaunt features. Of all the casinos in goddam Vegas the girls had decided to gravitate towards this one. "End of the Road" played over the speakers. There was an irony here that only Dean seemed to be noticing as Sammy grinned at him from across the table. The only thing that could have really made things worse for Dean right now was if the Casino was situated on "Mortal Coil" avenue and wedged against "Times Up" boulevard.

Annoyingly enough for Dean, the girls had got some dresses when he had taken them shopping a few days okay, that were perfect for this situation. Much to his dismay, all three of them looked amazing, and were attracting some unwanted by him, male attention. Samantha appeared to be flirting with the bartender, although he could not hear their conversation over the music.

"Chill out Dean" Sam muttered. Dean just turned to look at his brother confused. "You've been staring all night." Sam explained. Dean just scoffed. They sat in silence for a few more minutes before Jess stood up, saying something quickly to Beth before she started walking away.

"Sammy follow her." Dean commanded, not taking his eyes off the other two still sitting at the bar. When Dean realised Sam hadn't moved he tore his eyes away to look at his brother.

"She's just going to the bathroom Dean." Sam pointed towards where Jess had gone, Dean looking in that direction to see Jess walking through the bathroom door. Dean turned back to watch Samantha and Beth. "Dean they're fine, go have some fun." Sam tried to get his brother to stop watching the girls like a hawk. As much as he felt weird about the current situation he knew that he couldn't control the girls, and that they were old enough to make their own decisions. Now that they weren't wanted by every demon on the planet, they could afford to let loose.

Of course Dean wasn't paying attention as a guy decided to make his move while Jess was still in the bathroom. He had clearly waited until Beth was somewhat alone, as Samantha was thoroughly distracted by the attractive bartender. He watched as the guy struck up a conversation while Beth seemed to hang off his every word. Dean felt sick to his stomach.

The night seemed to blur at that point. It's a dark road a man walks when the ones he loves are changing out of his control. All his life Dean Winchester had been a gambler with fate and the more he spent time with these girls, he was beginning to see them more and more like his sisters.

All he heard was the chink of slots and the banter of seedy men. He found himself at the bar, the bartender on the other end of the marble counter seemed older and wiser than the younger one that was sinking his claws deeper and deeper into Samantha's youthful vigour. "What's the vice lad?" the grizzled bartender whistled through two teeth protruding haphazardly from his gums.

"Whisky" Dean muttered, still stormy with his thoughts of firing a bullet through the bartender's skull.

" 'ight " the bartender said, grabbing a glass from somewhere below and filling it with the liquor. He downed it in one, the burn only just catching on his tongue and the back of his throat. A well-executed movement and clean tilt of the wrist. The bartender raised a brow especially with the amount he'd put in the glass. "Ye' seem in thought lad" the wizened eyes watching Dean's with executed practice. "Just trying to cope with this whole "babysitting" thing". The bartender nodded for a while "If they aren't babies, why does your gut tell you differently?" Dean shrugged and got up walking away from the bar.

There's always flaws in the perfect man. That handsome man you see walking down the street? He went through a childhood of bullying. The smart guy who is successful? Beaten everyday of every week by his mother and father. Dean Winchester was what critics called a "hardened badass with a heart of stone" and right now there were only two things he actually cared about. His brother and these girls that had somehow made their way into his heart.

His heart was now torn between saving the sisters he loved, and listening to the pleas of his brother. Something wasn't right with them, he just had to figure it out. He saw Beth making her way out of the casino with the guy who had approached her earlier. He turned to see Jess, now with a man, who was whispering in her ear. And the young bartender still digging his claws deeper and deeper into Samantha's fragile heart. He couldn't take it anymore. He saw the look on Sam's face, begging for him not to do something stupid. He sighed, grabbing his jacket he made his way outside sitting himself in the Impala. He hit his hands on the steering wheel out of frustration.

This was proof that he was a disease. Everything around him got infected. Most ended up dead. These innocent girls had been thrown into a life they did not deserve, tortured with the same pain he had suffered since he was a young boy. But they still held the innocence, that happiness that he had wanted to preserve since the day they met. Now they were just like him, cold, and desperate for some sort of pleasure in anything that they could find, whether it was killing a monster, or a one night stand. His poison had infected them, and now it was too late. He should never have let this happen, never have taught them to hunt. He should have locked them up in the panic room and left them until it was over. But now there was nothing he could do. He couldn't part with them, for fear of what he knew the future held. He didn't want that for them. And yet, some part of him thought maybe death would be easier, that Samantha had somehow won the coin toss of the future. She didn't suffer the pain that Beth did, or become the evil that was Jess. But he couldn't even consider the idea, that he would hold a gun to her head, and shoot her in cold blood without even looking for a way to save her first. The girl, who like him, would give anything for her brother. Who loved the people around her wholeheartedly, even when it was tough.

Those girls had stuck together through all of their crap, and they had chosen to love him and his brother. He had let them down before, it was his fault they were in this mess and he wasn't going to give up on them now. He had to get through to them, before he lost them completely.
