Hello again, again. So last chapter of the day, I hope you like it. Also I said at the beginning of an earlier chapter that there was about 10 chapters left, well these three chapters I have posted today where supposed to be one, so not sure how many we have to go now. Those of you who follow my writing will be aware that I have a tendency on occasion to write three chapters for one in my plan. Anyway enough from me. though I want to say that I have been waiting to write this chapter for ages.

Enjoy.

Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.

Once he saw everyone was seated Gabriel started without any preamble as he lead back oh so casually in his chair.

"I know how to get to the spell in heaven."

"How?" Dean asked from the other end not taking his eyes from the archangel.

At that Gabriel turned and returned his stare and a real, joyful smile appeared on his face as he answered Dean's question. "Well Dean-o I'm gonna have to kill you."

"What?" Kevin shouted sitting up right. How would killing Dean help anything?

"You can't be serious." Sam shouted at the same time glaring at the archangel with fire in his eyes. If he tried to hurt his brother he would kill him.

Hmm, seemed Gabriel hadn't forgiven him for letting Cas find out about his missing grace then, Dean thought when he saw the smile and pleasure in Gabriel eyes at the thought of doing that. But he knew Gabriel, if he was going to kill him there would be a good reason, and he would have a way to bring him back. No matter how much he argued with him, he did actually trust the archangel nowadays.

"Okay." He said into the silence after Kevin and Sam's reactions. It seemed that Gabriel wasn't going to speak until he had heard his response.

"What?" Sam demanded turning to his brother as if he was crazy.

"It's not like he hasn't done it before, and there is the fact that he can bring me back." Dean replied calmly with a shrug leaving Sam mouthing at him speechless.

"Well hopefully, but if we run in to Metatron and I lose, then you will remain dead. No angel down here has the power to pull a soul from heaven, I only managed to get Charlie cos she hadn't actually left yet." Gabriel clarified, if they were going to do this he wanted Dean to know the risks.

"Still, I'm okay with that." Dean replied looking him in the eyes with a trust that the archangel had never expected to ever see there. It was kinda scary.

"What? Dean, no." Sam finally managed to stammer out. He was not going to let his brother die and that was that.

"You got a better idea Sammy?" Dean asked casually turning to his brother.

"Yes take me instead." Sam demanded to Gabriel making Dean roll his eyes. Like he would let Sam do that.

"Sorry kiddo, only Dean-o here will do." Gabriel responded before Dean had a chance, he really didn't want to hear the Winchesters argue over who was going to sacrifice themselves this time.

"Why?" Sam demanded from the archangel. Was this because Gabriel thought Dean was more expendable? Or was it that Gabriel trusted Dean more?

"Because to find the spell I need to track the grace it contains." Gabriel explained to the younger Winchester, though he was sure that Sam already knew this. Of course he was also pretty sure he was the only one who knew that Deans soul was infused with Castiel's grace, but it looked like the room was about to find out.

"So what does that have to do with Dean?" Sam asked confused now, though the answer to his question did not come from the source he expected it to.

"His soul is infused with grace. Correct?" Castiel said from his position next to Gabriel as he turned to look up at his brother making Gabriel smile. So he wasn't the only one who had noticed that then.

"Yeah Cassie it is." He replied reaching out and ruffling the fledgling's hair.

"What? Why?" Sam asked. He had no idea what was going on now, when had Dean's soul become infused with grace. Dean sitting at the other end of the table was glad Sam had asked, because it was a question he would very much like the answer to as well. When had he been infused with grace? And how had he missed that?

"He is the righteous man. " Castiel stated as if that answered all questions, which for Dean it sort of did, and the realisation made his eyes go wide. Was Cas saying what he thought he was saying?

"What does that have to doing with anything?" Sam asked sharply to the fledgling. I mean this Cas had no memories so what would he know.

"He was the one pulled out of hell and pieced back together with love and care Sam." Gabriel replied with an edge to his tone telling the younger Winchester to get his head out of ass and think.

"Oh." Was all Sam could think to respond to that. Dean on the other hand chuckled from his end of the table making his brother glare at him.

"Looks like I get to die this time Sammy." He said with a sunny smile on his lips. This plan was crazy, but they were Winchesters, crazy was what they did. Though this time is wasn't a case that he might die, but a case of he might not wake up.

It was agreed that they might as well do this thing as soon as possible, and after a brief argument it was agreed that Dean and Gabriel would be going alone. Hannah would stay behind to protect Castiel and if anything should happen to Gabriel then she would take over his care. She had argued bitterly that it should be Gabriel who stayed behind and her who went, but as the archangel pointed out, if she met Metatron then she had no chance, whereas as an archangel in heaven he had more resources at his disposal.

While the angels argued Dean had grabbed Kevin and pulled him aside. He needed the prophet to do something for him, and it was something he knew only Kevin could do.

"Kevin look, if I don't return I need you to kill Crowley straight away okay?" Dean murmured lowly to him hoping that no one could hear his words, though he guessed all three of the angels there could.

"Why?" Kevin asked confused about why Dean would ask him to kill Crowley when he had spent the last few weeks telling him not to.

"Because I don't want Sam making any deals to bring me back." Dean replied looking at his brother who was still glaring at Gabriel.

"Oh, okay." Kevin responded. There wasn't much more he could say to that after all. The Winchesters really did live in a different world.

"Good." Dean said with a nod before he went over to his brother and pulled him to one side.

"Look Sam if I don't come back-" He started only for Sam to interrupt him.

"You're coming back Dean." His brother said resolutely making Dean smile. Before he tried again.

"If I don't, look after Cas for me yeah? And Sammy? Let me go." With that Dean walked away from his brother leaving him glaring at him with a lost look in his eyes.

Dean joined Gabriel and together they made their way to Dean's room, Castiel and Sam following them, Hannah and Kevin had decided to stay in the library. Dean knew that until they returned their two brothers would be sitting beside his bedside, he just hoped it didn't take them to long, he didn't want his body rotting on his memory foam mattress after all.

"You know he's never going to let you go right?" Gabriel murmured to him as they walked out of Sam's hearing.

"Yeah I know, so we best make sure we come back." Dean replied with a smirk for the archangel.

"Agreed." Gabriel said as they entered Deans room and the human lay down on his bed.

"See you on the other side." The archangel said as he lowered his two fingers to Dean's forehead. At their touch there was nothing but blackness in Dean's mind, and then nothing at all.
