Hello again. Here is another chapter for you all. I hope you like it.
Disclaimer: I don't own Supernatural.
Dean and Gabriel had been walking for, well, Dean had no idea actually. It seemed as if the concept of time didn't exist in heaven, but it seemed a while before he felt something. A tug at his heart, a slight burning sensation in his shoulder where he had a hand print seared into his skin. Before he could speak Dean found himself somewhere different to where they had just been. It wasn't like before where the scenery had changed, it was more a case that he had been moved to the new place, but without any true feeling of displacement. Looking round, he saw Gabriel standing next to him, a genuine smile on his face. With that Dean turned to see what Gabriel was smiling at and found himself in the most beautiful place he had ever seen. Hell he doubted there was any place this beautiful on earth, or anywhere else in the universe.
"Where are we?" He asked the archangel next to him in hushed tones. He didn't want to ruin the peace of this place with any unnecessarily loud noises.
"The garden." Gabriel replied turning to smile at Dean making the human take another look around.
"It didn't look like this last time I was here. Then it was Cleveland Botanical Gardens." Dean said as his eyes saw plants and animals that it was impossible to find on earth.
"Yeah well, last time you where here with Sam. This time you're with me." Gabriel replied with a shrug and started to walk into the place. Dean wanted to make him stop, he didn't want to ruin this beauty with there presence.
"Why'd that make a difference?" He asked not following Gabriel.
"Because I'm an archangel and I was there when dad created this place." then Gabriel turned to him and spread his arms wide as if offering a treat. "Welcome to Eden Dean-o. Paradise for all."
At that Dean swallowed. So this was Eden? It was... breathtaking. But before he could try to think of anything to say Gabriel spoke once more.
"Come on kiddo. Where's the spell."
As soon as the archangel said the words Dean felt a tug once more and turned to his right to see a path appearing in the grass.
"This way." He answered stepping onto it with Gabriel following.
They walked on through the beauty of the place, Dean kept getting distracted by it, but then he would feel the tug once more and turn back onto the path. He couldn't see where it ended, it seemed to just appear in front of his feet.
But finally, after what felt like a lifetime and just a second, the burning in Dean's arm increased to an almost astonishing pain and round a bend he saw before him a massive swirling, ever shifting, shining ball of light. It was the most pure thing he had every seen, and he knew if he had been in his body his eyes would have been burnt out of there sockets by now. For he knew, with all he was, that he was looking at Castiel's grace.
"Good work Dean-o." Gabriel said quietly beside him, there even seemed to be an element of awe in his voice.
With a shake of his head to clear it, Gabriel pulled a small glass bottle from his jacket pocket and held it up. Dean turning from the sight of the pure grace and looked at it as if he was crazy. There was no way that Cas' grace was going to fit into that itty-bitty bottle.
"There's no way Cas' grace is going to fit in there." He stated crossing his arms. Though whether that was to show his point or to stop himself from reaching out to the light he wasn't entirely sure.
"Oh come on Dean-o, its like the Tardis. Bigger on the inside." Gabriel replied with a smirk, and when Dean just looked at him he rolled his eyes and held the bottle out to the human. "Look just take it and get the grace." He continued.
"Me?" Dean asked in a surprised voice, surely this was Gabriel's territory.
"Yeah, you. If I try to go near it, it'll move away. You have the same grace, it will recognise you." Gabriel replied as if speaking to a child.
"So basically, I have to do everything. Tell me Gabe, why are you even here?" Dean asked sarcastically not moving to take the bottle.
"Well firstly if I wasn't Metatron would have squashed you like a bug, and secondly without me you have no way home." Gabriel replied shaking the empty bottle at Dean until he rolled his eyes and held out his hand.
"Fine. Give it here." He said with a sigh and when Gabriel placed it into his hand he took of the stopper and cautiously held it out to the grace in front of him. But nothing happened. Taking a deep breath Dean moved a step closer, but still nothing. The grace wasn't moving away from him, but it also wasn't coming closer either.
"It's not working Gabe." He growled at the archangel making Gabriel roll his eyes once more.
"That's cos you have to call it to you Dean-o." He explained as patiently as he could. They were so close now. He couldn't wait.
"How the hell do I do that?" Dean asked grumpily, he wasn't a friggin' angel after all. He had no idea how the grace thing worked.
"Like this." Gabriel replied with a sigh before he walked over to Dean and placed his hand over the area on Deans shoulder that Castiel had left his mark and closed his eyes. Using his own grace Gabriel manipulated that which was inside Dean making it reach out for the grace in front of them. It took a bit of coaxing, but suddenly the grace in front of them rushed towards them and into the bottle in Dean's hand. He watched as if filled it up and then continued. It was if the bottle was a never ending pit. Finally all the grace was contained and Dean replaced the stopper and held it up. He couldn't believe that it was all in there.
Gabriel looked at the bottle in Dean's hand and reached out, gently taking it from the human with a smile. With that he slipped it into his pocket before turning to look at what was left of the spell. There were enochian symbols carved on the floor and the other two ingredients now sat, sad and alone, in the middle.
"What are we going to do about that?" Dean asked his eyes following the archangels.
"Nothing. Once we get the grace back to Cassie they will disappear, that or explode. Either way that will open the gates."Gabriel replied with a shrug of indifference.
"Great. we get to blow up heaven." Dean responded with a genuine smile that made Gabriel shake his head at him. "Right angel boy, Lets go." Dean continued. He wanted to get back home and back into his body thank you very much.
"Give me your hand then. Don't want you disappearing into your own little slice of paradise now do we?" Gabriel smirked at him making Dean glare at him even as he held out his arm and Gabriel grasped it. The archangel then flew them back to the portal they had entered through. Just the last stretch to go now and he would have his brother back, and the angels could go back home. Everything would be right again, even if he did end up leading heaven, hmm, maybe he would have to teach the angels about democracy, and delegation.
