Sonic arrives at the gym's locker room to change into his basketball outfit for the Canterlot High Wondercolts basketball team tryouts. He made a big name for himself when he beat Rainbow Dash, team captain and star player of the Wondercolts, in a game of one-on-one and he is sure to make it on the team. "This is my big chance to impress everyone here and to make a name for myself," said Sonic as he was suiting up in his personal basketball outfit. His basketball outfit has a mixed team colors of both the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs with his middle name 'Skye' on the back with his jersey number 27 on the front and back. Once he finished, he starts to head out to the gym where he sees a lot of young boys and girls wanting to be a Wondercolt. "Whoa…looks like I'm not the only trying to get a spot," said Sonic as he heads to the line up. Sunset, Twilight and the rest of Sonic's friends are sitting in the bleachers, ready to cheer him on. The side door of the gym opens and coming in the gym are Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and a student with a soft grin on his face. His skin is black, his hair is long white with a black stripe in the middle of it and his eyes are iciest blue. The trio also wears the Wondercolts basketball outfit as they are a team with each number: Dash's is number 8, Applejack's number 32, and the other's number is number 6. "Greetings, everyone and welcome to the Wondercolts Basketball Tryouts. We got a group of young hopefuls wanting to be a Wondercolt," said Dash with a smile. "That's right, sugarcube. This will be interesting to say the least. This should be fun," said Applejack. "Oh please, you two. These nobodies looks like they didn't hold a basketball. I still can't believe that we have to fill a spot with these bunch of rejects," said the player with a soft laugh. "That's not fair, Thunder Lane. We need a new star player and there are a lot of potential players here," said Dash as she was giving him the 'You got some nerve' look. "Fine. Then how about this, Dashie. I, Thunder Lane, will challenge anyone of you nobodies in a simple one-on-one game to 21. If you can beat me, which none of you will, I will give up my spot and retire from Wondercolts Basketball team. However, if I beat all of you, then this will be the last tryout for this team ever and the final person who I will beat will become my servant for the entire school year," said Thunder with a evil grin. Everyone was shocked from the stakes Thunder made. Sonic, however, said "Really? You think you're that good that you will to make sure that no one will have a chance to tryout on the team? Of course, you're the reason why the Wondercolts Basketball team hadn't had a winning season for 10 seasons." Thunder takes the ball and throws it at Sonic while saying "No-name street trash!" Sonic catches the ball, shoots it at the hoop and scores a basket, impressing both the crowds and the hopefuls. "I see. So you're the one who beat Rainbow Crash. Well, anyone can beat her in a game. She's a B- player along with F- player Applesack. As for me, I'm an A+ player, a person any college wants to have in their school," said Thunder with a smug look at him. "A team player never talks down their own teammates like that. That's not how a team work or play together," said Sonic in a calm voice. Thunder growls at him and said "How about I teach you a lesson about respect?! My team against your so-called team in a full court game of 21, 3-on-3! You up to the challenge?!" "Sure. I want to prove to you that in order to be the best, you gotta beat the best. It's about high time I take you down an peg or two," said Sonic as he grins at her. Thunder turns to Dash and Applejack and said "Don't screw this up, you two! I mean it!" "We'll try our best, Thunder," said Applejack. He turns to her and said "Don't try! Do, you country bumpkin!" She growls at him by that comment. Sonic looks at the young players looking to make the team, most of them scared of going up against Thunder Lane. He sees a tall ebony girl wearing Orlando Magic number 32 jersey, which belong to NBA star center Shaquille O'Neal aka 'Shaq Diesel'. Her hair is long black in a long ponytail that reaches to her butt, her eyes are amethyst, and her lips are purple. "You look like you can make some serious blocks and dunks," said Sonic with a smile. The girl grins at him and said "I'm gifted in the art of the shot blocking. My name is Luria Bergmann but in the street ball courts I'm known as 'Denial' for I can block any kind of shot and abuse the rim with my monster jams. I heard that you're going to take on Thunder Lane and the Wondercolts in a game of 21. I'll be a threat on them if you pick me." Sonic smiles at her and said "Ok, Denial. I'll pick you." She bows at him as she goes to him and said "Thanks. I promise to play my heart out for you." "I know. Now, we need a player with good handles, can perform wicked shots and good steals," said Sonic in a calm voice. "Perhaps I could help, Mr. Skychaser," said a soft voice. He turns and sees a flexible girl, wearing a retro number 44 jersey of Dallas Mavericks legendary player 'Pistol' Pete Maravich, performing some of the most complex ball-handling skills. Her skin is light peach, her blond hair is in pigtails and her eyes are dark green. "Cool handles," said Sonic with a smiles. "Thank you. My name is Ayla Sky, but my nickname is 'Cross 'Em' because of my sweet handles and trick moves. My signature move is the 'Sky Love' shot, which I kiss the ball before taking the shot. I'm also good at steals. I see you're taking on the Wondercolts and it looks fun. May I be on your team?" "Sure, Ayla. I would love to have you on my team," said Sonic with a smile. She goes to Luria as she hugs her as a sign of welcome and said "We need a team name for us, Sonic." He thinks softly and said "We'll be…Team Sonic!" Thunder laughs and said "A lame team name from a lame player. Alright, Team Sonic. Let's get ready to play."
On the football field of Canterlot High, a group of young and strong players are doing some practice drills on the field getting rev up for the upcoming season. Snips and Snails were just goofing off as usual and messing up plays and formations. Their coach, Doc Grayson, is at wits end with those two. "Come on, you two! Focus! We got till 3 weeks until our season opener!" screamed Doc as he throws his clipboard to the ground. "Aww come on, coach! We're just having fun!" said Snips as he was doing some unnecessary juke moves as if he is a All-Star pro. "Hey, Snips. Check this out!" screamed Snails as he tries to do a Heisman Trophy pose. Doc was about to scream at them until some voice says "Excuse me, is this the practice drills for the football team?" Doc turns around and see a young teen wearing the Washington Redskins football jersey of Quarterback Robert Griffin the 3rd aka 'RG3'. His skin is ebony, his hairstyle is a white Mohawk with black highlights and his eyes are the iciest blue imaginable. "Yes, it is. May I ask for your name?" asked Doc. "My name is Thunder Light, but many of my friends call me Light for short," said Light with a smile. "Well, Mr. Light, what position do you want to play in?" asked Doc. "I would love to play Quarterback, sir," said Light while holding the football proudly. "Really? Well can you throw the rock, son?" asked Doc as he call one of his top receivers onto the field. "You want me to show you my skills, coach?" said Light as he head to the field and gets ready. "Ok. Let's run Play Action Screen Pass for the offense while the defense will run CB Zone Blitz," said Doc with a smile. Both the offensive and defensive plays takes to the field and Light gets in the QB position. "Down…set…blue 74...sliver 89...hike!" screamed at the center as he hiked the ball to him. Once he gets the ball, he fakes the handoff to the HB to sell the run and gets into a passing position. He sees not only to the two key wideouts on the end of the field but also the two cornerbacks coming up on both of his sides. He remains calm as he throws a spiral lob to WR # 56, who caught it and runs it in the end zone. "Whoa! Wicked arm, Light. I think I found my newest QB," said Doc with a smile. Light bows at him and said "Thank you, coach." "That is some serious arm you got there, dude. Name's Rick Williams, the guy you threw the touchdown pass too. It would be pretty awesome to play with you," said Rick. "Thank you, Rick," said Light. Just then, a student ran onto the football field and said "Hey! Big basketball game about to start! It's the Wondercolts Vs. Team Sonic! It's about to go down!" Doc hears it and said "Practice is over, guys! Report to the gym on the double!" Light and the rest of the football players head to the gym to see the game. "Now this I got to see," said Light with a smile.
On the Canterlot Soccer field, Kira and the rest of the girls are playing soccer a bit as the coach, Mia Li, looks on the newest recruits. "That's good, girls! Keep it up," said Mia with a smile on her face. Kira was showing off her soccer skills which impressed the other girls. Unknown to her, Nasir was looking at her from behind the tree and smiles at her. "No problems here. That's good. Let's keep it that way," said Nasir in a calm voice. Just before Kira was going to make a goal shot, a girl runs onto the field and said "Hey! There's a huge game going down right now!" Mia hears it and said "Girls! Soccer tryouts are postpone until tomorrow! Report to the gym on the double!" The girls headed to the gym as fast as they can. Nasir follows suit and said "Not a fan of this 'basketball' thing, but it should be interesting."
The gym had a huge crowd wanting to see the big game. Both Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna sits in to act as the play by play commentators.
Celestia: Welcome my faithful students to Canterlot High Gym. Principal Celestia along with my dear sister, Vice Principal Luna, for this great street ball matchup!

Celestia: Today's game looks like a really good one. Oh boy as Team Sonic take on the Canterlot Wondercolts! Celestia: Charming as ever…*Dash jumps up in the air and Jams it in with the crowd going crazy* Next up, a high-flyer, a shot caller, and the definition of the word 'Awesome'! No. 8, Rainbow Dash!

Celestia: Still awesome as ever. *Applejack jumps in the and preformed a 360 degree monster dunk which got the crown off their seats and screams for her* And last but certainly not least, the lovely farmgal who is also a terrible defender. No. 32, Applejack!

*both teams walks up at the center of the court as Sonic and Thunder get ready for the tip off. Spitfire comes up to toss the ball in the air*
Thunder: Prepare to lose, street trash!
Sonic: Bring it on, jerkwad! We got more dunks than a donut shop!
*Spitfire tosses the ball up in the air and Team Sonic wins the tip*
Celestia: Team Sonic wins the tip and this game is underway!
*Sonic drives up to the court and is being check by Thunder who is trying to steal the ball from him. He sees Luria jumps up in the air and passes the ball to her to perform a Alley-Oop dunk*
Sonic: Wicked move, Luria!
Luria: Thanks, Sonic!
Thunder: *turns to Applejack* Where were you?! Did you tried to check her, you goof?!
Applejack: She kinda got over me, Thunder. No need to get upset.
Thunder: You can be such an idiot sometimes! Just inbound me the ball and stay out of my way!
*Applejack inbounds the ball to him and Thunder drives to the land only to get the ball stole by Ayla, who then passes it to Sonic who preformed the Stretch dunk to have Team Sonic go up by 2 points*
Luna: Oh my! That's two points unanswered!
*Applejack inbounds the ball to Dash as she drives to the lane and is being checked by Sonic, who is making her blush*
Sonic: Your move, Dashie.
Dash: Like you can stop me, Skye.
Thunder: Hey, Rainbow Crash! Pass me the bloody ball!
*Dash passes Thunder the ball who then tries to make a 2 point shot only to get hit with a Turbo Block move by Luria*
Celestia: Luria Bergmann with the 'It's not you, it's me' rejection!
*Luria drives up to the lane as she passes Ayla the ball and makes a long range shot to put Team Sonic up by 4 points*
Luna: Oh my! That's 4 points unanswered!
Thunder: Come on you two idiots! I hate losing!
Applejack: We're tying!
*Thunder gets the ball, performed some moves and manages to sink a 2 point basket to end the run*
Thunder: That's how you sink a basket, you two blockheads!
Dash: Ok!
Applejack: Fine!
*Sonic get the inbound ball and before the can pass it to his teammates, Thunder pushes him to the ground which cause him to lose the ball, make him get it and shoot another 2-pointer to tie the game and getting booed by the crowd*
Thunder: Ha ha!
*Applejack and Dash helps Sonic up*
Applejack: You ok, sugarcube?
Sonic: Yeah, AJ. I didn't think he can pull that trick off. That's good. Now I know what we're up against. Ok. I'm fired up.
*For the next few minutes, the two teams went out at it playing like an Game 7 of the NBA Playoffs. They been hitting key shots, cool moves, monster jams and high flying stunts to get the crowd on their feet. Time has passed and the score is tied 20 points apiece*
Thunder: *turns to Applejack & Dash* You two are the most embarrassing players I've ever played! You let them tied with us! Us! That should not happened!
Applejack: We're trying to have a great game, Thunder.
Thunder: THE ONLY GREAT GAME I WANT IS THE PART THAT I BLOODY WIN, YOU COUNTRY BUMPKIN! Now, here's what I want you two to do! You give me the ball and I will take the winning shot! Something that not even you can pull off, Rainbow Crash!
Dash: Ok. Ok, Thunder. We'll pass you the ball.
Thunder: Good! And you better get it right!
*members of Team Sonic rested up and drank some Gatorade)
Sonic: Man! This is a sweet game and we're tied! All we need is to sink a 2 pointer and we win.
Ayla: This is so intense! My heart is pounding hard and I'm sweating bullets! I'm enjoying this feeling!
Luria: I agree! I need to see how this wonderful game to end.
Sonic: Let's do this!
*both teams head back on the floor and get ready*
Celestia: It all come down this one final play. Only a two point shot is needed to win the game.
Luna: You can cut the tension with a hot butter knife.
*Applejack inbounds the ball to Dash as she runs up the lane and is guarded by Luria. Thunder was wide open and was waiting for her to pass him the ball*
Thunder: Hey! Rainbow Klutz! Pass me the ball!
Dash: I'm kinda busy here trying to shake her off!
Thunder: For once in your life, do something that's not stupid!
Dash: Oh I will!
*She passes him a low pass ball only to be stolen by Ayla, who she passes to Sonic and her shoots the game-winning shot*
Celestia: Oh my! Team Sonic win the game! The final score is Team Sonic 22 - Canterlot High Wondercolts 20!
Luna: What an epic game!

Applejack: Confound it! You shut up! Ok, so we lost in a really good game! Skye and his teammates worked with perfect harmony and they even had fun playing a really good game! If you weren't being such a total ball hog, being mean to your teammates and only care about winning all the time, then you don't deserve to have a team!

Celestia: *walks up to them and looks and Thunder Lane* No, Thunder Lane. They didn't lost because of their lack of skills. They lost because of your heartless desire to win!

Celestia: *turns to Sonic and smiles* Congratulations, Team Sonic for the awesome game your team put on. As Principal of Canterlot High, I, Celestia, officially awarded you the title of Team Captain of the Canterlot High Basketball team. Also, the members of your team will join as well.
Sonic: Awesome!

Thunder: *growls at them* You're making a big mistake! Fine then! I quit! I'm transferring to another school anyway! Just to get away from you losers. *storms out of the gym mad and throws his Wondercolts jersey on the floor*
*Every student cheered for their newest member of the Canterlot High sport family. Even Thunder Light, Thunder Lane's brother, show his respect to him. Applejack and Rainbow Dash, along with Luria and Ayla, gave Sonic a big group hug as they, along with the other hopefuls, have become the newest members*
Outside of the Canterlot High Gym, Thunder Lane was walking out mad. "I heard that you are not longer a member of the Wondercolts. Am I right?" said a soft voice. Thunder turns around and sees a beautiful woman in her mid-25s looks at him smiling. Her skin is midnight black with purple tribal markings all over her body, long flowing purple hair, purple lipstick and red eyes. Her clothing is a dark blue business dress with black heels. "Who are you?" asked Thunder in a calm voice. "A thousand pardons. Where are my manners? My name is Murcia Sky, Headmistress of Astylar Academy, one of the most gifted schools of all the city. I can tell you have full potential of becoming a true champion and will make a wonderful ruler of the courts," said Murcia with a grin. "Yes. I wanted to be a true champion. But those fools are always holding me back! I want to be the only winner! And I want to take down that blasted Sonic Skychaser!" screamed Thunder in a fit of rage. Murcia holds out her hand and said "Enroll into my school and train with the best players on my basketball team. Then, when the time is right, you will be unstoppable on the hardwood that not even Sonic Skychaser can stop." Thunder holds her hand and said "Oh I'm going to enjoy this. Let's leave this worthless place and head to our new school." So, Murcia and Thunder Lane got into her car and drives to his new school at Astylar Academy, where he will refine his skills to near perfection and to beat Sonic. He laugh evilly and said "This isn't over! Not by a long shot! You haven't see the last of me, Sonic Skychaser!"
