The sun rises up on the city, signaling the start of the new day. In the dorm room of Astylar Academy, an strong, yet beautiful girl starts to wake up from her slumber. Her flawless skin is ebony, her long beautiful black hair with pink highlights and her eyes are dark green. "Another beautiful day. I should check my e-mails and see if there are any interesting stuff for me," said the girl as she turns on her laptop. She opened her e-mail account and sees a new mail from Murcia. "Another one from Headmistress Murcia. I swear if it's that talking fish video again I'm going to scream," said the girl as she click on it and a letter appears with a file attachment.
Dear Ms. Sato,
As you know that the Astylar Academy's basketball season will start in a few weeks and I know that you like to scope of some opposing players that will give us trouble. Attach to this e-mail is the scouting report of the Canterlot Wondercolts' newest player. At Canterlot High, Sonic and his friends are attending their classes and going on their daily lives. During PE, Sonic was teamed up with Dashie while Applejack is teamed up with Luria Bergmann in a friendly game of 2 on 2, which AJ and Luria won the game by 3 points. At lunch time, they are eating their lunch. Pinkie moves up to him and said "Hey, guys! I found something on my phone!" "Is it another one of those Nyan Cat videos again?" said Dash with a chuckle. "No…well, yeah. But it is important! It's about this new school! Look who is their new student," screamed Pinkie as she plays the video on her phone. They took a look at the video and sees Thunder Light, the former student of Canterlot High, playing for the Astylar Knights and with his new teammates. "Is that Thunder Lane?" asked Dash. "Yeah. That's him alright. No doubt about it," said Sonic in a calm voice. "I wonder why he choose that school?" asked Fluttershy. "Maybe because he was embarrassed when he lost to Sonic," said Applejack with a smile. "But I wonder why he's over there? Could it had something to do about the news article on the web last night about Astylar Academy having their own basketball team?" asked Sonic in a low voice. "In any case, we should be careful about them. I heard from a friend of mine that they have been busy trying to recruiting top players from the country and so far, they have a group of elite players," said Dash. "They even tried to recruit me," said Sonic. "What?! No way! You?!" said Applejack in a shocked voice. "That's right. After my middle school championship game, which I won with my team of course, I was interviewed by many high school scouts. There was this rep from Astylar Academy who goes by the name 'Mr. M'. He told me that he is the owner of Astylar Academy and that it would be an honor to join his school," said Sonic. "But you have a reason not to join Astylar Academy. Am I right, Sonic?" asked Nasir as he and Kira come to the table to join them. "You heard about us talking about them, Nasir?" asked Sonic. "Well, it's not like a abnormal topic like pimples and such. Besides, you guys aren't the only ones who is hearing the news about Thunder Lane joining the Astylar Knights," said Nasir as he points at everyone on their phones looking at Thunder joining the Astylar Knights. "Word travels fast, it seems. I heard around 7:00 PM, there will be press conference of him along with Mr. M and Murcia Sky. We might want to check this out together," said Kira in a calm voice. "That does sounds reasonable. If you want my opinion, I say you could find one of their players and play a one on one game to check their skill level," said Twilight. "It's better than nothing. Before I forget, can you finish your story, Skye?" asked Applejack while she's eating her lunch. "Sure. Well, he was giving off some weird vibes and when I looked into his eyes it was almost as if I was in a trance. I tried to look away but I can't. I was starting to lose myself before my mom came between us and I was back to normal. But that didn't stop there. Everyday and every night, our home was bombarded with tons of gifts from Mr. M. My mom said and I quote 'This guy doesn't take no for an answer, like one of those bill collectors or unwanted dates' unquote," said Sonic. His friends laughs at the joke his mother made. "Your mom is so funny! I bet she's a comedian," said Pinkie as she was still laughing. "She still is. A very good comedian," said Sonic with a chuckle. "My goodness. I'm surprise that you pick Canterlot High over Astylar Academy, Skye," said Fluttershy as she eats her salad. "I am glad about it too, Shy. Still, I have a funny feeling that this and beating Thunder Lane in yesterday's game is just the beginning. Knowing the people of that school, they won't stop until that either enroll me into their school or defeat me in an game with their top recruits. And with Thunder now with them, that means they planning something big against Canterlot High," said Sonic as he eats his burger. Just then, as Kira looks up, she looks as sees a mysterious figure looking at her from the window. She shakes her head and when she opens her eyes, the figure is gone. Nasir looks at her and said "Everything's ok, Kira?" "Yes, Nasir. I'm ok. I just…saw…something," said Kira in a low voice. Before he can say anything else, the bell rang and everyone started to head to their next class. As Kira is head to her next class, she was still thinking about mysterious figure looking at her. *Who was that guy? Why was he looking at me?* thought Kira in her head.
Back at Astylar Academy, Charlene, wearing her Astylar Knights uniform, is walking down to the foyer of the academy on her route to play against Sonic. As she was walking, she looked on to see the students, mostly female students, are greeting Thunder Lane, the newest member of their school. He looks at her and said "Hello, milady. Maybe you and me should play a little one on one sometime." "That would be a nice. But I have a date with a certain baller that have caught my eye. Let's see if he can satisfy my taste," said Charlene as she heads to Canterlot High. "I wonder what was that about? It must be some hot date," said Thunder as he was heading to his new dorm room.
Back at Canterlot High, Sonic and the gang continues their school life and their studies. Nasir and Kira was busying getting ready for an upcoming play that Vasilis is planning. Once Sonic arrived to music class, Ryoko is at her desk looking over some forms. "Hello, Ms. Osaki," said Sonic with a cheerful smile. "Ah! Mr. Skychaser. My singing pupil. Good thing that you're here. I need to tell you something," said Ryoko. "Sure, Ms. Osaki. What is it?" asked Sonic. "Remember our little singing show with you and Sunset?" asked Ryoko. "Yes. And our song is Skyfall by Adele from the James Bond movie Skyfall," said Sonic. "Great movie. I have two DVD copies of the movie. I'll let you have one of them. I have push it to the opening of our annual fall dance," said Ryoko. "Ah, I see. That give me and Sunset a lot of time to practice," said Sonic. "Of course. Speaking of Sunset, she said that she want to practice with you at her home during weekends," said Ryoko. "Hmm…well, I got nothing to do on weekends so I'll take up that offer," said Sonic. "Perfect! Now class is about to begin and I need to put together a new lesson. Let's get ready," said Ryoko with a smile. He nods as he heads back to his seat and sees the students coming in to class. He saw Sunset blushing softly when she saw him and sit next to him. He smiles at her as they starts the studies.
Walking up to the school grounds of Canterlot High, Charlene was dribbling her ball getting ready for her match against Sonic. "I hope you're ready for me Sonic. Let's see how good you are against me," said Charlene with a smile. She hear the final bell rang and sees the students heading home for the day. "It's game time," said Charlene as she heads to the Canterlot High gym.
In the gym, Sonic was practicing his shots while Applejack, Dash and others was getting ready for their 1st team practice. "This is going to be fun," said Ayla as she was tighten her shoes. Luria was stretching her arms and getting loose. "Oh yeah. I'm fired up," said Luria with smile. "Alright, team. Today marks the 1st day of the Canterlot High Basketball team practice, everyone. We're going to rebuild our team to become a powerhouse team and try o win a championship for Canterlot High!" screamed Sonic in a proud voice. "Well, looks like I at the right place," said a soft voice. Everyone turns around and see Charlene comes in the gym showing off her dribbling skills. "Skye, she's an Astylar Knight player," said Dash as she points at her Astylar Knights uniform. "That's right, Ms. Dash. I am Charlene Sato, one of the elite players of the Astylar Knights. I've heard about a new player in this school and I wanted to see that player," said Charlene. Sonic steps up and said "That could be me, Ms. Sato." She looks at him and grins softly at him. "So, you must be Sonic Skychaser. I heard so much about you from Thunder Lane. He really hates you when you beat him in a friendly game," said Charlene as she starts to chuckles softly. "Well, to be honest, it's his own fault that he lost because he treated his teammates like dirt," said Sonic. "I agree with you 100%, Mr. Skychaser. But enough about him, how about a friendly game of one on one? Loser's Out, NBA Scoring, 1st to 11 points wins and you got to win by 2," said Charlene while licking her lips. "Well, I was going to practice with my team, but I'll play with you," said Sonic. Applejack & the others back away as Sonic and Charlene gets ready. "I hope you're ready, Charlene. I got more dunks than a donut shop," said Sonic as he was fired up. She chuckles softly and said "Very cute, my dear Skychaser. But I'm setting up a block party. You can help yourself to anything but a shot." Sonic gets the ball and gives it to Charlene. "Ladies' 1st," said Sonic as he get ready to play defense. "Aww…such a gentleman," said Charlene as she blushes softly at him. The game get started and Charlene blew past him and score a quick 2 points. Everyone is shocked that she scored on Sonic 1st. "Hmm…I see. So you're really are good, Ms. Sato," said Sonic with a soft chuckle. "I'm not a rookie, Mr. Skychaser. I am the best," said Charlene as she checks the ball at Sonic. He grins as he perform a trick move to fakeout Charlene and score a quick 2 to tied the game up. "Impressive. Most impressive. No baller have scored on the great Charlene. You are quickly earning my trust, Skychaser," said Charlene with a grin. The match went on and everyone was getting excited. I the end, Sonic beat Charlene 11 to 8 by shooting the game winning 3-point shot. "Ah yeah! Another win for the Wondercolts!" screamed Sonic in a proud voice. Charlene claps her hands and said "Bravo, Sonic. I, the great Charlene, congrats on your victory over me. You have earned the title of both my friend & rival." "Thanks, Charlene," said Sonic with a smile. She goes up to him and kisses him on the lips that shocked everyone and Sonic. She breaks the kiss and said "You should be an Astylar Knight just like me, Sonic. I'll let you think about that for a while. I'll see you again, Sonic Skychaser." With that said, she gets her ball and leaves the gym. Applejack goes to him and said "Are you alright, sugarcube?" "I…I…don't know, AJ. I just…don't know…" said Sonic as he tries to process why Charlene kissed him.
In the Drama classroom, Vasilis was busy writing his play for a bit before heading home to get ready for dinner with Kira's family tonight. He hears a knock on the door and said "Come in." The door opens and sees Ryoko coming in with two files for him. "Hello, my king…oh! I mean, Vasilis," said Ryoko as she's blushing softly. "It's alright, Ryoko. It's after school and no students are here. It is safe to call me king," said Vasilis with a smile. She sighs softly and said "Oh course, my king. I got the files on Mr. Skychaser and Ms. Shimmer." He gets the files and said "Thank you, Ryoko. Is there anything else you would like to know?" "No, my king. It's just that I was wondering why you need the files on those two? As far as I can tell, they are normal kids," said Ryoko. "I have my reasons, Ryoko. Besides, it's classified," said Vasilis with a smile. "Oh course. A thousand pardons, my king.
