Sam, Dean, Kevin and Cas filed into the room containing the dungeon only to hear off key sining coming from the other side of the shelves. The Winchesters shared a look and then as one pulled the shelves apart to reveal Crowley sat calmly on the chair. And even though he was chained at his wrist, neck and ankles he still somehow gave off the air of being the one in charge.

"Well, well. Aren't I honoured. The whole family has come to say good morning." Crowley said in a regal tone and with a sneer on his face.

"We're not here to talk Crowley, we here for Kev to kill you." Dean returned conversationally as he moved to lean against the wall and cross his arms. There was no way he was going to miss a second of this well deserved execution.

"Really?" Crowley asked in disbelief, turning his eyes onto Kevin and looking him up and down as if sizing him up and finding him wanting, though he did get a slightly wary look in his eyes when he saw the angel blade in the prophets hand.

"Are you sure you can do that little prophet boy? Because I don't think you have the balls." He finished with when he had looked his fill at the boy.

"I can and I will. For my mom." Kevin growled back at him, tightening his grip on the blade, a determined look settling onto his face as he looked at the demon responsible for so much of his pain.

"Ah yes, the lovely mes Tran. But tell me Kev, how will killing me help her?" Crowley asked in an innocent voice with the raise of an eyebrow as if they were having an academic conversation and it wasn't his life and death on the line.

"She'll be avenged." Kevin replied instantly and with venom. He had had enough of this demon, but he didn't seem to have the courage to take the two more steps it would require to be able to stab the angel blade through his heart.

"Yes, yes. Revenge, kill the demon, blah, blah, blah. You know you really have been spending too much time with the Winchesters. But that is beside the point. The lovely Linda is not dead." Crowley answered with a roll of his eyes at stupidity of humans, it was always all about there pain.

"What?" Kevin asked confused now. Crowley was a demon, of course he had killed her.

"He's lying Kevin. It's what he does." Sam interjected not wanting Crowley to start manipulating Kevin as he knew the demon could, and would, do.

"Oh moose, I'm hurt. Here I was thinking you and I had a connection but it seemed you only wanted me for my demoness. Which I confess, is the best of me." Crowley replied smiling at Sam making the younger Winchester give him the most perfect bitchface and Dean to go slightly more on alert. He was already ready if Crowley tried anything after all.

"There's no reason you'd keep Kevin's mom alive." Dean said before his brother could respond making the demon turn and look at him with a knowing smile on his face which made Deans heart sink. He had a horrible feeling that in this Crowley wasn't lying. That he really did have Kevin's mom alive somewhere, but it was going to cost to get her back. The question was, was it a price they would be willing to pay?

"Isn't there Squirrel? Do you really believe that? The way I see it, holding her hostage is much more likely to get me what I want continuously. But fine, don't believe me. There is one who can confirm whether I'm telling the truth or not now heaven is once again open for business, isn't there feathers?" Crowley asked turning his eyes to the angel in the room who had been a silent observer up until now.

"He is correct. I can go and check heaven for Linda Tran." Castiel replied looking at Crowley but his words were directed at Dean rather than the demon.

"Run along then kitten. I don't have all day." Crowley responded in an exasperated voice. He wanted to get this show on the road. He had a deal to make after all. Hmm, just what they be willing to pay?

Rather than leaving Castiel turned his eyes onto Dean and they shared a stare where it seemed that the angel was waiting for something from the human. After a minute Dean nodded.

"Go." He said to the angel and with that and a flutter of wings Castiel went to search heaven.

"Lets go wait somewhere else. Leave this scrum to his own company." Dean continued to the rest of the people there. He had no idea how long it would take Cas to search for Mrs Tran, so they might as well go wait it out in the library rather than in here with the son of a bitch they all really wanted to gank but didn't dare to just yet.

"Oh yes, please do. I'm a much better conservationist than any of you." Crowley shouted after them as the three of them turned as one and walked away from the demon, shutting him once more in his dark, dank prison.

It was a couple of hours later that the flutter of wings was heard once more, but rather than just Cas, this time there were two angels in front of them.

"Thought you could use some help." Gabriel said with a shrug when Dean looked at him with raise eyebrows. The truth was of course that watching over the prophet was one of his jobs as the last remaining archangel. As such finding Kevin's mom was his responsibility as well.

"So I take it Crowley isn't lying and Linda's alive." Dean said with a sigh. He really had hoped it was all a lie. Not because he wanted Linda Tran to dead of course, though that did depend on what the evil son of a bitch had done to her, but he really didn't want to make any deals with the king of hell. But he would, if it got Kevin his mom back Dean would give Crowley almost anything he wanted, almost.

"Well she ain't in heaven. But we can't find her on earth either, so either Crowley has her warded against angels or she's in hell." Gabriel replied with a shrug though the look the archangel gave Dean said that he too was thinking that it could well be a combination of the two.

"We have to find her and save her." Kevin interjected. Now he heard that there was a chance his mom was alive then there was nothing in the world that could stand in his way of doing just that. He would do it alone if needs be.

"Look Kevin, we have to-" Sam started to say, trying to reason with the guy. They had to think about this, they couldn't go off half cocked. That was always what got them into so much trouble.

"No Sam, she's my mom and I will get her back." Kevin rounded on the taller man with a fire in his eyes. Sam was not stopping him from doing this. Not now, not ever.

"Don't worry Kev, we will. I promise." Dean said making both Kevin and Sam turn to him. Kevin with gratefulness in his eyes and Sam with disbelief.

"Dean." Sam said. They needed to think, talk calmly and make a plan.

"No Sam, she's family. Come on lets go see what the douche-bag wants for her." Dean replied turning to look at the entrance to the corridor that would lead them the dungeon and Crowley. It was time to play the game that it seemed they always played with the king of hell. It was all negotiations and compromise and death threats. God, he was so damn tried of it all. But play he would, for Kevin and for his mom, it was what family did.
