Chapter 17: Caught

Clint pushed me into the closet.

"Clint stop it," I squealed in delight.

He covered my protests with multiple kisses.

"Don't worry we're fine," he comforted.

He gave me another quick kiss.

"At least lock the door, someone might come by," I requested.

I heard a clicking sound in the dark supplies closet.

"That's better."

He gave me another chaste kiss. He gripped onto me tight, making sure both our bodies were pressed together. I was right on my toes so I could reach his face. My fingers intertwined in his hair.

"You sure it's not cleaning day," I asked again.

He laughed.

"For the last time no it's not."

I frowned.

"Sorry, this keeping it a secret thing is a little nerve wracking."

He placed a small kiss on my forehead.

"Don't worry we will be fine, nothing will happen."

I smiled and a small giggle escaped my mouth. Clint chuckled lightly.

"That was actually kind of cute."

I gave him a playful glare.

"Hey, don't push it bub."

He smiled as he leaned down for another kiss.

"Don't worry I won't."

His soft lips pressed against mine. But while enjoying this moment the room was flooded with light. Shit, didn't he lock the door? We pushed each other away and swung around to see who opened the closet. Natasha was standing right in the door way.

"Clint, what the hell?"

She looked furious.

"I told you not to get involved with her, it will only be more pain on your part."

Wait…

"Wait you were telling me to keep away from Clint!"

"Oh so she harassed you too?" he asked turning to me.

I nodded. He turned back.

"Natasha, how dare you get involved in this," he growled.

Natasha didn't really care.

"I'm going to tell her father you know," she said coldly.

His eyes went wide. He was about to rush her but I grabbed him.

"I'm going to tell him tomorrow, unless…"

She looked over at me with her cold sharp eyes.

"Unless you break up with him."

My mouth dropped. She's really going to make me break up with him.

"I won't."

She smirked.

"Then I'll let your father break this up, but if you change your mind…"

She paused to look back at Clint.

"You have a day to do it."

She walked off without another word. Clint was raging mad. He was walking towards her room. I grabbed his arm and he stopped.

"Don't you'll just make things worse," I pleaded.

He turned to face me.

"So you want me to just give up on us?"

I shook my head.

"No, not at all just let me handle it."

He nodded turning and walking the other direction. Great now I have two grumpy people to deal with. I walked away in the direction Natasha took. She was fast I'll give her that. It would be a little hard to find her. She is the best spy in the world. I ran all over the house hoping that I would find her before she could tell anyone. I peeked around corners and even went out to the regular places she hung out. She wasn't in the training room, in her room, I even went to S.H.E.I.L.D but she was nowhere to be found, hence best spy in the world.

As I was searching voices were coming from Tony's office. It sounded like Mr. Banner. I peeked through a crack in the door. Mr. Banner was in a room with Natasha. Natasha was venting to Mr. B.

"He won't listen to me no matter what I say."

"Well, Nat he is twenty-three now, he is an adult."

"I know that, but when he comes home a wreck every night and it's all her fault… I can't watch it any longer."

"She is also an adult from what I can tell; they both need to make decisions by themselves."

She sighed and laid her head on his shoulder.

"Besides aren't we doing the same thing?" he asked.

She smiled.

"Well, that's just how I do things, I don't want everyone in my personal life," she reasoned with him.

He smiled.

"If you think someone is going to come and kill me, I think they're going to have a little trouble with it."

She laughed.

"Oh trust me they have no chance against you."

She leaned up and placed a kiss on his lips. He pulled him closer and she complied. MR. B. AND NATASHA ARE DATING! Dear god, why didn't I see this before, now I have something against her. I just need to make sure she knows I do. I grabbed the knob and opened the door looking down at my phone.

"Hey Tony so I got a question…."

Both turned to me shocked and astounded, perfect. I made sure to look shocked as well.

"Uhm…. I think he's in another room."

Natasha grabbed my arm and held me in place.

"Bruce please leave me and Christine here have to talk."

Mr. Banner left without another word leaving me with the deadly spy.

"So what do you want?" she asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"What do you want for me to keep your mouth shut?"

So much power, yet I don't think I can do it. With a sigh I told her:

"Nothing, I want nothing from you."

She stared at me with shock.

"You don't want anything from me?"

I nodded.

"Even though I hang the threat of exposing your relationship with Clint?"

"Yah, go ahead, I'll keep your secret you two seem really happy."

I turned to leave feeling very stupid for not asking for anything. But Natasha would have none of that. She grabbed my arm and yanked me around. She glared into my eyes but I just stared back into the anger and hatred. She looked like she wanted to say something to me but stopped. She let go of my arms and walked towards the door. I stood there almost shaking in anger.

"I'll keep your secret but be careful please, be careful with him."

Then she left without another word. My heart finally started to beat again. That was too close for comfort. I took in a deep breath before leaving the room and headed up to my room. When I felt I was alone I took my suit from the closet. Should I go out again? All I've been taking on is petty criminals. Nothing big, just letting the Avengers take on the big stuff. I can't risk dad finding out that instead of sleeping I've been fighting crime. Instead of dealing with my nightmares I've been drowning them out with punching men in black masks. Maybe I should put up the suit tonight.

Sirens rang through the house. What's going on? Dad slammed my door open. It was a sight to watch him try to get his pants over his boots.

"Chris there's been attack on the city, stay in this room and don't leave the house, if we get attacked run downstairs to Tony's office and put JARVIS on lock down mode, got it?"

I nodded as he jumped down the hill. My skin itched with the urge to go and fight. I closed my door quickly. Should I break code? I couldn't it would go against my dad's trust. Then again I'm going out with Clint. Well, it couldn't hurt to go check it out. I took my suit and got dressed quickly and snapped the bracelet onto my wrist. I pressed a button on the side and vibranium shield spiraled out. Nice and I added the newest gadget to my other wrist. It was a small crossbow. Easy to shoot and stays out of the way so I can use my fists as well. I opened the window wide and crouched on the ledge.

Without thinking I jumped out the window. I clutched to the side of the building sliding down the rest of the way. I looked around and moved to the next building. Now on the roof I searched the sky line to see where the chaos might be. Before I knew a huge blast of fire erupted into the sky. Just a hunch but I assume that's where the bad guy is. I ran off in the direction jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

I finally got close enough to the scene to see what was going on. A girl in all red was in the middle of the chaos. She was using magic against people and the city. The Avengers weren't handling it well. She was slinging them left and right. Even Hulk couldn't get close enough to hit her.

"Ha ha ha puny Avengers you are nothing compared to the Scarlet Witch."

So this is the maniac destroying the city. Well, time for me to step in.

"Well, the Avengers may not be able to take you but I can."

She looked up at me and smiled.

"You mortal, think you can take me on."

I rolled my eyes.

"Didn't I just say that it's good thing you're not the Scarlet Listener," I teased.

She looked a little angry but not too angry. But before more slander could be thrown I shot a gas arrow at her. It exploded causing a fog to rise on the battle field. I jumped down from the building into the chaos. She couldn't see a thing. I saw her bright red costume in the fog. I tapped her shoulder to grab her attention. She turned around to see my fist slam into her face. She fell back and wiped a little blood from her nose.

"You will pay for that, insolent girl."

I laughed in the face of danger.

"Bring it Scarlet Bitch."

She did not take that well. She decided to shoot fire at me. I easily dodged the fire which made her even angrier.

"Oops missed again, oh and again, come on you can do more than this right?"

She was madder than ever but in her anger she tripped up. I slung my shield at the fire hydrant right behind her.

"Ha you missed," she cackled as the shield returned to its master.

"Think again."

She turned around and the water blew out of the hydrant. Soaking the witch, while she was distracted I took my father's cuffs and put them on her. She turned to face me. I kicked her in the face and she fell to the ground. She didn't get back up. The Avengers all stared at me with awe. I needed to leave now before dad realized it was me. I climbed up a building but someone called out to me.

"Are you an Avenger?"

I turned and smiled at the crowd that started to gather.

"No, I'm not an Avenger…. I'm Miss Avenger."

And with that I jumped away trying to get home as fast as I could.
