Sorry I'm going off story just a little instead of jumping straight into Tony and Steve I'm going to have Bucky jump in for this chapter and if you like him maybe I will add him into the story. This is in honor of the new movie Captain America and the Winter Soldier.
Chapter 18: Uncle Buck POV Steve
"Bucky so good to see you," I yelled out.
My best friend came over giving me a great big hug. His metal arm patted my back with a clank.
"Long time no see," he laughed.
"So do you like working for S.H.I.E.L.D?" I asked as we headed inside.
He shrugged his shoulders as usual.
"Well, I get great dental so I guess it's good."
Bucky with his jokes, he hasn't visited in a while. Fury's got him working like a dog ever since he started.
"Well, you know you're always welcome to join the Avengers."
He chuckled.
"Yah, I don't think you're fiancé would take well to that."
"Oh, come on Tony likes it when you come over."
Bucky chuckled.
"Then why is Jarvis locking the doors?"
I got to the door and tried to open it.
"Tony come on open the door."
No response.
"Fine Jarvis override code 5827."
The door opened with ease. Tony was up at the front grumbling.
"Someone didn't take his happy pill this morning," Bucky grumbled.
"Hey I heard that, and visiting hours are every other Thursday from three to five."
I gave Tony a look.
"Come on Tony, calm down he's here to see Christine not you."
Bucky looked over at me.
"Who's Christine?"
Oops, forgot to mention Christine.
"So this is what I wanted to talk to you about."
I led Bucky to a private room.
"Don't tell me you had a child with that goof."
Bucky and Tony have hated each other since the first time they met and when Christine came into the picture he got super busy so it was hard to get him over.
"No she's not Tony's; she's mine and Peggy's."
He went silent quick. I continued.
"For some reason Christine was born in World War 2 just a while after I disappeared, but was raised in this time period."
He raised an eyebrow to this.
"How did that happen?"
"We don't know but she came to us in August, we tested her and everything her story fits."
He gave me a look and smiled.
"Congratulations and she even stuck with a similar name for you."
I smiled.
"I would like you to meet her and I wanted you to be her uncle."
He laughed and patted me on the back.
"Of course."
"Okay, let's go see her."
Bucky POV
Uncle Bucky has a nice to ring to it. Uncle Winter Soldier doesn't have the same ring. Steve led me up the stairs and to the room across from Natasha's.
"Here is her room."
I nodded. I looked down and laughed. I'm still in work attire. Not the friendliest outfit to go meet kids in. Steve opened the door and revealed her. She was sitting on her bed with a book in her hand. She's not exactly as young as I expected. She looks like an adult. The girl looked up from her book. I saw the resemblance right away. She was beautiful like her mother and had her mothers eyes but she had Steve's hair and smile, nervous but warm almost inviting.
"Hi dad, who do you have with you?" she asked.
She sounded like Peggy without the accent.
"Christine I want you to meet Bucky, he's your Uncle."
She got up from her bed and walked up to me. She was short compared to me but stood tall. She held her hand out. I grabbed her hand and shook it.
"Very nice to meet you and you can call me Chris instead of Christine."
Ha, he always wanted a son named Chris.
"It's nice to meet you too Chris."
She laughed.
"So are you from World War 2 as well or were you born in this era," she joked.
"Yah, I'm from the 1940's I fought with your dad multiple times."
Her face brightened.
"Well, then we have much to talk about I love history, dad tells me nothing."
He laughed.
"Well, I'm going out to dinner with Tony, are you going to stay or do you need to go?"
Chris smiled at me.
"I can stay for a little while longer."
Chris seemed absolutely giddy.
"Don't worry about it dad I'll go easy on him."
He laughed as he left the room. When he left she turned to me.
"So do you play football?"
That shocked me.
"I did back in the day, yes."
"Good, cause I got some of my friends from my football team to come play here and we need an extra player," she responded.
She walked to the door. She turned back and smiled.
"Well come on."
I shook my head.
"I don't think I should, I got a lot of heat packing here."
She laughed.
"Well same here, apparently the super soldier serum is hereditary."
This girl is strange.
"Come on it'll be fun Uncle Bucky."
She sounded so sweet, how could I resist.
"Fine I'm coming just let me change."
I walked into the bathroom and changed into something less threatening. The only thing that looked off about me now was the huge metal arm. I walked out and I followed Chris outside. There were a bunch of big guys outside throwing around a football.
"Guys I got us an extra player."
Two teenagers in particular ran up to Chris. One tackled her while the other pried her off.
"Uncle Bucky this is Caitlin and Josh."
I looked down at the scrawny girl and looked back at Chris.
"Is she playing?"
She busted out laughed.
"No Caitlin hates football she's just here to watch us play."
I nodded.
"Okay guys me and Bucky will be team captains so we can keep things fair."
One guy through the football at Chris and she caught it with ease.
"Okay I'll go first, I choose Josh."
He walked over to Chris. Before we knew it we had split up the team and we were all playing. But the boys didn't care that I had a metal arm they played just the same as if I was another player. We played three full games. Chris was phenomenal. She was a natural born athlete. She was even a challenge for me. She did inherit the super soldier serum. Before we knew it was dark outside and her friends were heading home.
"Bye Josh, Caitlin see you Monday."
They waved back as we entered Stark Tower. She had barely broken a sweat since we went outside. We went back up to the main floor where everyone lives and she walked into the kitchen and grabbed two water bottles. She slid it across the table and I caught it.
"You're really good at football."
She laughed at my comment.
"Are you saying your surprised a girl is good at sports?"
"To be honest yes, not many girls played sports in my time so it is a little surprising," I admitted.
But she only laughed at my comment.
"Well, I'm glad I could show you what a girl can do."
She turned around went back to the fridge.
"Do you want anything to eat?"
I nodded. I was starving and she was offering to make food.
She pulled out a pack of hotdogs and started a pot of water to boil. She walked back and smiled at me.
"So what do you do for a living?"
I laughed.
"I work at Target," I said sarcastically.
She laughed.
"You must be a hoot to see then," she joked.
"If you must know I work for S.H.I. ."
She nodded.
"Of course, why don't you work for the Avengers?"
"Tony doesn't like me and frankly I don't like him either."
She burst out laughing and started taking out hotdogs.
"I was just the same way, I hated Tony, thought he wasn't worthy of my father."
She laid down a hotdog in front of me and smiled.
"But then dad locked us in his office for almost twenty four hours and we found out how much we had in common."
She chuckled at the memory.
"He loves my dad more than I thought anyone could love somebody, so that's why I decided to let Tony adopt me."
"Tony's adopting you?"
"Yep, so just give Tony a little slack, like I give you slack for beating the living shit out of my dad during your memory loss period."
My eyes went wide.
"Yah I know quite a bit."
She smiled and turned on the TV.
"Hey, Wizard of Oz is playing, wanna watch?"
I smiled and nodded. We watched TV until she passed out on the couch. When Steve and Tony got back Steve smiled.
"So you guys bonded I'm guessing?"
I nodded.
"She's a great kid."
He nodded and picked up Chris and took her upstairs. I looked over at Tony and he glared back at me.
"Tony, I'm sorry for the things I said to you and Steve."
He looked dumbfounded.
"I talked to your daughter, I'm sorry for telling you two I'll never accept your marriage."
Tony snapped out of it and gave a professional look.
"I accept your apology so does this mean you're coming to the wedding."
I nodded.
"I see how much you love Steve, also I wanted to ask…. Can I join the Avengers?"
So how was that? I enjoyed this chapter a bit. Now I wanna know should we keep Bucky or send him packing and have him make small appearances though out the rest of the story.
