Chapter 18

Disclaimer: I don't own Attack on Titan.

No has seen Krista in two weeks. Reiner has tried calling her, Armin went to her apartment, Mikasa has tried her hang-outs, everyone searched all over the city for her but she was nowhere to be found. Everyone was worried but Ymir seemed to be the most upset.

I wanted answers for what happened that day. I've tried to talk to her but she gave harsh glares and avoids me every chance she gets. I feel bad. I had so many questions. I have to talk with Ymir. I need answers.

At lunch, I intentionally sat in front of Ymir. She gives me her frightening glares and looks away.

"Ymir." I whispered. She looks in my direction and then she scowls. "We need to talk." I mouthed to her. She looks down then looks back up again. "Please." I begged. She doesn't respond for awhile. As the bell rang, we got up from our seats. Suddenly my arm was grabbed and I was pulled back into a tall figure. I looked up and saw Ymir towering over me.

"Is everything all right?" Sasha asked.

"I remembered that I lost something. Mickey here is going to help me. Let's go." She answered hastily and pulls me away from the group.

We ended up in the girls' bathroom. Ymir checks the stalls. When she was done, she goes to the bathroom door and locks it. She relieves a heavy sigh and turns to me crossing her arms.

"So what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Ymir asked as she leans against the wall.

"Um…" I hesitated. I started to rub my locket trying to calm myself a bit at least. Then Ymir slams her fist on the wall near my head out of patience.

"Spit it out! Can't you see that I can't stand seeing you right now!?" She said harshly. She shakes in anger and tightens her fists.

"What is your relationship with Krista!?" I finally asked her. I looked up at her with determination. She was quiet for a moment.

"We…we are just friends." She said quietly.

"No you're not. I saw you guys at the lockers a few weeks ago…and confronted you two that day like that. There's no way you two are just friends." Ymir relieves another sigh.

"Fine I'll tell you but you CANNOT tell ANYONE. Not Armin, not Eren, not anyone!" I nodded and sat on the floor. She sits on the ground too and sighs again.

"Krista is not…really in a relationship with Reiner. Krista and I are." She said slowly. No way. "Reiner and Krista are just pretending to be dating."

"Why?" I asked quietly.

"You already know Krista's secret. You already know."

"What, that Krista is apparently royalty? Yeah I'm not really getting the concept of it." Ymir gives me a look that shows a bit of disappointment.

"Krista is actually Princess Historia." She continues.

"No way!" I can't believe it!

"Krista…got kicked out the kingdom for being who she is. They didn't accept her and sent her here. She might be the illegitimate child of the King but they have no right to treat her like this." Ymir said angrily. She tightens her fist and wipes her face. "The only reason she's dating Reiner is to cover up her dates with me and come back to the castle in Wall Sina."

"Is Reiner okay with that?"

"Well Reiner only likes her as a friend. He actually has a boner for Bertholdt but he likes Annie who is dating Armin."

"Wow…" I couldn't believe it. This is so surreal. Krista is a princess and everyone is basically in a weird love triangle. "Then what happened two weeks ago? She went into that car and just disappeared."

"The king called her. It was important apparently so she won't be coming back anytime soon."

"Were…you meeting for the last time that day?" I asked hoarsely. That day…was the last day we ever get to see Krista for awhile.

"Yeah…she was going back there for the summer but…change of plans." Ymir said sadly.

"I'm sorry…" I said as I cover my mouth with my hands. I felt tears rolling down my face. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to ruin your date! I just was worried and a bit angry that Krista betrayed Reiner but that wasn't the case! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" I wailed and then covered my face in my hands. I felt Ymir's arm wrap around me. She rubs my shoulders gently and puts her head on top of mine.

"It's okay. You didn't know. I'm sorry that I was being a bitch these few weeks. I was angry that I won't get to see her for awhile and blamed you for some reason. I took my frustrations out on you. I'm sorry." I cry for awhile. I don't know how long though, but the next thing I knew is that school was over. I totally skipped the rest of school. I feel so bad! If Petra and Erwin find out, I'll be in trouble when I get home!

I got home and Petra and Erwin were in the café with their arms crossed with angry expressions on their face. Well shit.

"We got a call from school today. You skipped the rest of the school day. That isn't like you. What happened?" Petra asked.

"I…did something bad to a friend and wanted to fix it. I'm sorry." I apologized.

"Go to your room." Petra ordered. I nodded and went up stairs into my room as I was told.

After an hour, my door knocks.

"Come in." I said sadly. I'm getting a lecture I just know it. The door opens revealing Erwin. 'Erwin? Not Petra? Is she not going to yell at me? What if Erwin is giving me the lecture!?' I thought. He sits next to me on my bed, fumbling with his fingers.

"So…did you fix it?" He asked.

"Huh?"

"With your friend. Did you fix it?" He asked again. I nodded slowly and rubbed my locket. "Well that's good right?" I nodded again happily. I'm glad I fixed things up with Ymir. I looked at Erwin, finding him smiling gently at me. He pats my head gently. Then he puts his big palm on my cheek.

"I'm glad you made up with your friend just don't skip school again." He chuckles.

"Am I not in trouble?"

"Well you will be grounded for a week. Can you live without your phone and TV for that long?"

"Yeah." I laugh a little. He ruffles my hair, making it a mess.

"Your locket..." He pointed out.

"Oh, mom gave this to me a long time ago." I stated as show him the locket.

"I gave it to her as an anniversary present." He gently touches it. He tries to open it but it wouldn't.

"The locket can't open. It's not broken or anything. It just doesn't open." I said to him. I have tried to open it on multiple occasions. It just doesn't open. It's like someone glued it shut or something. He lets go of it and pats my head again.

"Well I better let you do your homework. I'll see you tomorrow." He gets up and heads to the door.

"Hey." I call out. He turns around and looks at me. "Can we talk again some time?" I asked. "You can tell me how you met mom." He smiles at me and gives me a little nod. I smile back at him and watched him leave the room.
