Hey guys! How are you all doing? Good I hope!
First off; so sorry about the long gap since the last update; got kind of busy with my job, and saving money for the convention I'm going to in September, as well as working on Cosplays and other personal projects.

This is kind of another filler chapter; but it's a bit more light-hearted than the last, and it sets up some more stuff for things to come.

I'll try to get regular updates going again; as long as I can get back to regularly writing; haha.

Disclaimer: I do not own Danny Phantom.

"Baby open your eyes,
And hold on tight;
Just keep running and we can stay up all night,
Don't let go..."
-Don't Let Go, Lea Michele

-3rd person POV-

One month Later

"Stop!" Rachel squealed loudly. Danny laughed and tightened his hold on her waist. "You started this tickle fight, and I'm going to win!" he replied, making Rachel launch into a new fit of giggles. She squeaked and looked at Sam. "H-help meeee!" she said in between giggles. Sam shrugged. "I can't really do anything." she said, a smile on her face. "Traitor!"

Tucker walked over to the group, raising an eyebrow in Danny's direction. "Do I want to know?" he asked. Danny poked Rachel's side and she slapped his hand. "She started it." he said cheekily. "Did not!" Rachel said adding a pout at the end. Danny responded by wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

Tucker shook his head, a smile on his face. "Anyway, the movie starts in a half hour guys. Do you want to just buy the candy there?" he asked. "Sure." Sam said with a shrug. "Have you ever snuck candy into a movie theater before?" Rachel asked. Tucker shook his head and Rachel and Sam started laughing, exchanging a knowing look. "What's with the laughing?" Danny asked. Rachel looked at him. "Sam and I...well, let's just say we've had our own adventures in the past." she said with a playful smile. "Yeah, some of it is uh, pretty hush hush boys." Sam said, a smirk on her face as she folded her arms behind her head.

"You guys aren't fair!" Tucker protested as the group made their way towards the movie theater.

"So Sam..." Rachel started, following the raven-haired girl into her room. "Yeah?" Sam asked, kicking her boots off by the door. Rachel took her shoes off and left them by Sam's boots. Rachel smiled as she and Sam sat on the bed together. "Do you have anyone you might be interested in?" Rachel asked, taking a notebook out of her backpack.

A faint blush lit the goth's cheeks as she mulled the question over and she quickly busied herself with re-painting her toenails black. A small smirk crossed Rachel's face as she laid on her stomach, propping herself onto her elbows. "Miss Sam~!" she teased, earning a smack across the head. "I-Idiot..." Sam mumbled.

Rachel let out a huff. "You haven't answered my question." she stated. Sam sighed and looked at Rachel, a small smile on her face. "Fine, I'll tell you." she said dramatically. Rachel let out a happy squeal. "So you know that new boy who transferred to the school last week?" Sam asked. "You mean Chord? Didn't he move here from Ohio or Kentucky?" Rachel asked. "Kentucky." Sam corrected. Rachel motioned for her friend to continue and Sam let out a sigh.

"I don't think I've met someone like him before him. He's smart, funny, and dorky. At the same time, he respects me and my individuality." Sam started. "Didn't he used to be in a glee club?" Rachel asked. "Yeah, I think that they used to compete or something? Anyway, he sings too." Sam said, capping her black nail polish and sighing. "He's a dork. He's also a sweetheart, and I think that I like him Rachel."

Rachel grinned. "That's awesome!" she said happily. Sam smiled at her. "I hope that he likes you back, that would be so cool. I think you guys look like a good couple!" Rachel added. Sam raised an eyebrow. "Really?" she asked. Rachel nodded. She thought about them next to each other; Chord with his blonde hair and green eyes, and Sam with her black hair and violet colored eyes. They looked like they'd be opposites, but from what Rachel has seen of the two of them together, she thinks that they make a good couple.

"So how're things going with you and Danny?" Sam asked. Rachel smiled. "They're going great. In all honesty, I feel the happiest I've ever felt with him. He's such a sweetheart to me Sam, and he treats me good." she said, resting her cheek on her arm and looking at her friend. "That's good. I mean it. You deserve to have someone good." Sam said, standing up to walk over to her dresser. "I think...I think that I might tell him about the incident soon. I feel...like I can talk about it again." Rachel said. Sam looked at her, a cautious expression on her face. "You're sure that you're ready?" she asked. Rachel nodded. "It's been...four years." she said softly. "I've got to talk about it sometime, you know?"

Sam smiled. "If you feel like you're ready, then go for it Rachel." she said, opening her dresser and getting her dark colored pajamas out. Rachel sat up. "So when are you going to invite Chord to join our group on an outing?" she asked. "Next weekend. We're going to that Mayday Parade concert, remember?" Sam asked. "Do you have an extra ticket?" Rachel asked. "No...but Tucker said that if he wants to go, that he'll give him his ticket." Sam said. "That was nice of him." Rachel said, blinking. "He says he doesn't like the band as much as we do." Sam shrugged. Rachel grinned. "We all ship it!" she said jokingly. Sam blushed and threw a pillow at her and Rachel was thrown into a fit of giggles.

Rachel stared at the ceiling, and then at Sam's sleeping figure in her bed. She smiled; happy that she and Sam were able to spend time together again. It had been a while; about a month before her failed failed suicide attempt; that was the last time they had really spent time together like this. Rachel let out a low sigh and closed her eyes. "Nope...still can't sleep." she whispered.

"Rachel?"

Rachel looked to her left, towards the source of the voice, and Danny smiled at her. Rachel smiled and gently smacked his head. "Why are you here?" she asked playfully, her voice quiet. Danny kissed her forehead. "Just wanted to check on you two." he said softly, floating above her. "So...you're creeping?" Rachel asked, a playful smile on her face. "Sure, let's go with that." Danny said, moving some hair out of Rachel's face. Rachel smiled and kissed Danny's nose. "Aren't you supposed to be patroling the town?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Danny grinned. "I wanted to see you first." he said quietly and Rachel shook her head, the smile still on her face. "Hey, so...Chord and Sam. What do you think about them?" she asked. Danny raised an eyebrow. "What, she likes him?" he asked. Rachel put a finger to her lips. "He's a nice kid. He seems trustworthy." Danny said.

Rachel nodded, before gently pushing her finger against Danny's forehead. "You should get back to patrolling. Sam and I will be fine. We both have our cell phones, and your cell number. We'll call you if something happens, okay?" she asked. Danny nodded. "Okay. Sleep well." he said softly, before phasing through the roof, leaving Rachel to sleep with a smile on her face.
