Chapter 28

"What did you want to ask me Detective Hannes?" I asked him when we went into the empty hallway.

"Well, I am lead investigator of the Aberrant Killer Case." he says, lighting a cigarette.

"Um...okay?" I was so confused on what he was going with this.

"Miss Miku Stevens, what do you know about the killer?" he said breathing out the toxic smoke.

"Well...nobody knows who it is...killed at least 20 or more people so far within a year in different parts of the walls...and...the name was give is by the way the victim was stab till he or she was unrecognizable in an unorganized fashion." That was all I could think of about it really. There isn't much information about it anyway.

"Miss Stevens, what do you know about your mother?" he asked, putting out his cigarette. "When was the last time you have seen or even heard from your mother?" he asked suddenly, lighting another cigarette.

"What does my mom have to do with any of this?" I asked him. What does he want to know about my mother? I felt a sudden panic hit me in the gut.

"Please answer the question Miss Stevens. When was the last time you had any contact with your mother?" he asked again.

"Then tell me why!?" my voice became a bit more loud. "What does this have to down with her?"

"You won't like what you are gonna hear you know." he said, breathing out toxins again. He was silent for several minutes, flicking his cigarette into a nearby trash can.

"We have some evidence..." he begins slowly. "And we believe it is connected with your mother, Nanami Stevens."

"That's not true!" I said back quickly. "I know my mother! She wouldn't even hurt a fly! How dare you put this on her!" I shouted at him with my eyes tearing up.

"The evidence points it to her kid. Now will you answer the question?" he said not really caring how I feel.

"I can't, I can't not now..." I said and ran down the hall.

I didn't know where I was going but I knew that I was outside the hospital. I kept running until I found myself in a typical dark alleyway like in the movies or TV shows where you find a dead body in a dumpster or something. I started to walk down the alley, out of breathe from the all that running.

'How he even say that!? My mother isn't capable of killing so many people...right?' I thought. Then I start to remember all things I know about my mother in my head. I remember being told that she used to have blacks out and wouldn't even remember who she was, I even talked to her person. But on that day, I knew she wasn't right. She had a wig and sunglasses and asked me to come with her.

Why?

As I got lost in thought, I tripped over something and landed in a puddle. I tried to get up but I slipped again, landing right back in it. As I tried to get up again, I felt my surroundings.

The puddle was sticky and it was warm. My handed on something hard but soft like memory foam. It was smooth with a few rips in it. My other hand touched something squishy like jello or something. My eyes adjusted to my dark surroundings and looked at the things I was touching. It seemed big like a dining chair like big. I picked up the squishy stuff I felt in the other. It smelled awful that I gagged. Then a street light flickered on. The light illuminated on the objects. I took a closer look at the objects as the light hit them.

In my hand was a something that looked like a part of an intestine and the other was a man, dead and cut open.

I screamed loudly and couldn't stop. I threw up all over myself and the pool of blood around me.

"Hi there Mickey." a familiar female voices ranged behind me. I looked over my shoulder and see my mother smiling at me. "You finally came! Now we can leave and be together again!" she said so cheerly, raising a large kitchen knife and wiped it on her face. She slowly walked to me, still smiling.

I tried to get away but I kept slipping on the blood. I felt terror strike me as I dragged myself out of the blood.

My mother slammed her foot against my back, pinning me in place.

"Let's be together Miku." she sang and raised the knife, getting ready to strike me.
