Violet and the others made their way down the hall. Minty was currently leading them. She had hacked into the cameras and knew where Wilbur and the others were, but it stood took some time for her to sort out which camera was in which hallway, or which floor. So she took it one step at a time. Of course the others, not being able to speak Japanese, had no idea of this.
"This is taking forever." Dash whined. "Can't you do this any quicker? At this rate the guards are going to find us again."
Vanellope punched his arm. "Shut up will ya? She's doing the best she can. If she isn't careful she could end up leading us who knows where." She scolded.
Dash rubbed his arms and rolled his arm. "Man, I could probably run through this place and find them quicker than this." He said looking annoyed. He turned to his sister. "C'mon sis, it'll only take like a minute." He said.
"No." Violet said firmly. "We've already split up enough. We don't know what we're going to come across in this place. It's better that we stick together." She ordered.
Dash sighed and then turned to Margo. "What about you? Ted said that you're a medium right? Can't you just contact the others and tell them to meet us up here?" He asked.
Margo looked nervous. "I…I'm not that good with my powers yet. They didn't let me use them all that much. I guess they didn't want to risk me contacting someone on the outside." She said pushing her glasses up.
Violet then realized something. "Hold on, I don't know what the rest of you can do. Maybe one of your powers could help us find the others or get out of here quicker. Name and powers, quick." She said looking to everyone.
Vanellope raised her hand. "Vanellope Von Schweetz, at your service. I can turn into and control electricity. I could get out of here anytime I want, but I'm not leaving with my friend." She said sternly.
Gloyd stepped forward. "Gloyd. I can teleport and switch stuff within my range. Unfortunately we're still too deep down for me to just swap us out of here, and your friends aren't in my range yet." He explained.
Minty waved at her. "Konichiwa. Ore wa Minty Zaki." She said bowing.
"She's a techno-path." Gloyd said. "She's been hacking into the cameras and keeping tabs on your friends. She's also been trying to guide us through this stinking place."
Violet waved back to her. "And she's been doing a fine job." She complimented. She could tell this girl knew they were escaping, but she had a feeling the language barrier between them seemed to keep her from realizing the full gravity of the situation. "Who's next?"
Kristoff rubbed his neck. "Um… I'm Kristoff. I can turn my skin into whatever hard surface I touch." He said touching the wall. His skin began turning into metal.
Antonio rolled his eyes. "I have no powers. I'm just here because of my dad's stupid business." He said looking irritated.
"You mean being a villain?" Margo said crossing her arms.
"How exactly did your 'father' start off again?" Antonio asked glaring towards her.
The two looked like they were about face off, but another girl stepped in between them. "This is not the time to be fighting you guys. We need to be working together." She said. She then looked towards Violet. "I'm Penny, I don't have any powers either."
The strawberry blonde girl stepped forward. "Oh, I'm next. My names Anna. I have super strength." She said flexing her arm. "I mean like crazy strong."
Violet nodded. "Okay so now that we know what we're working with here… I still can't think of anything." She said sighing. "Let's just go back with the first plan."
Minty nodded and then began leading them again, but then suddenly stopped. "What' wrong?" Dash asked confused.
The green haired girl looked worried. "Um… trouble ahead."
A large figure suddenly made its way around the corner. "Holy crap…" Dash said backing away. Standing before them was a large colorful… tiger? It looked like a tiger anyhow. It's heard was a larger than normal, and it had different colors around its body like some colorful bird. "What the heck is that thing?" He said as it began approaching them.
The creature let out a low growl and looked like it was ready to pounce at any moment. "I think it must be form the animal testing lab. Margo, its close by, use your telepathy." Vanellope said looking nervous.
"I don't know if it'll work on animals." Margo said backing away.
It growled loudly and was about to leapt at Gloyd, but suddenly a voice called out. "Hey! Down! You get down right now!" They all turned and saw Eep walking around the corner. She pointed at the creature and then to the ground. "I said down!"
The animal eyes softened slightly and he lowered his head and sat. She reached forward and patted him on the head. "That's a good boy. I know you're hungry, but let's wait until we get out of here to-"
"Eep!" Violet and Dash both shouted smiling. "You're okay! Man, I thought it was going to take forever to find you guys. Where's Wilbur?" Violet asked.
Dash walked over to the animal and poked it. "And what is this thing?"
Eep began scratching the creature behind the ears. "I found him in some kind of lab. I think they were testing on the animals there. I picked up a few others strays along the way too." She said stepping aside. There were a number of strange looking animals behind her. "I've always been pretty good with animals."
Violet looked over the array of animals. "They look like something out of a science fiction movie." She said walking towards them. One of the animals looked like a cross between and elephant and a mouse. It was so tiny. It crawled towards her and she picked it up. "Cute."
Ted looked around nervously as two gerbil like creatures who tails were attached ran around him. "This is so weird." He said before turning around and then gasping. In the back of the group of animals was a large, red, spiky reptile. "Is that… it can't be."
"It looks like a dragon." Vanellope said walking up to it. It snorted, blowing smoke into her face. She coughed for a bit and then pouted towards it. It glared back at her and then turned away. "Who peed in your coffee this morning?"
Suddenly a white blur blew past the others and made its way towards Penny. The girl smiled and kneeled down holding her arms out as the dog jumped into them. "Bolt! You're okay! I was so worried about you boy." She said hugging him.
Violet smiled at the sight before suddenly remembering where they were. "Okay, we can sort all of this out later. For now our priority is escape." She said getting everyone's attention.
"What about Wilbur?" Dash asked.
"And Swizzle."
"And my sister."
Violet held her hand up silencing them all. "When we reach the exit, you'll lead the others out and I'll go back in to find them. Once you escape, call mom and dad and tell them where we are. Hopefully I'll have already found Wilbur and gotten out before they arrive." Violet said.
Dash looked annoyed. "Sending me away while you have all the fun? No way. Eep can lead the others to safety. If we have to go back, we go together." Violet was about to say something but he cut her off. "I'm your brother, I'm not leaving you." He said firmly.
Violet looked surprised. It was rare Dash didn't make a joke of the situation. She knew he took his role as a hero seriously, but he often tried to hide it by acting like it was a joke. He must have really been worried about leaving her here. "Alright then. If we don't find them on the way out, we'll both go back for them."
"Hey, how about we focus on actually getting out of here instead of the sappy siblings talk?" Eep asked pointing upwards. "I say we just smash our way to the top floor."
"That'll bring the whole building down." Margo said.
"Well we can't take the elevator. They'll just shut it down before we make it to the top floor. And even if we did somehow make it, they'll have a whole squadron of guards waiting for us."
Vanellope smirked and held her hand up. "Hello, electricity user right here. They shut the power off and I turn it right back down. And Minty can keep control of the thing long enough for us to get to the top." She said patting her friend on the back.
"We should be able to take out any guards we come across no problem." Anna said confidently.
Violet shook her head. "I don't want to risk any direct confrontation. We need to find a way where we don't risk any lives." She said.
"It's too late for that chica. Being in this building is a risk to our lives." Antonio said simply. "I say we go with the elevator plan."
"You guys have been locked up for months, and you barely know how to use your powers. Do you honestly think you're ready for something like this?" Violet asked.
Gloyd chuckled. "Are you kidding me? We've been waiting for this since we got locked up. It's payback time." He said holding his hand up. "Let's do this."
Violet sighed. "Fine. But we're only taking out the guards in our way. The main goal is to escape, so we make a beeline for the door. Got it?" Everyone nodded as they began heading towards the elevator.
Bob rushed into the conference room of the NSA, worry written all over his face. "Have you found them?! Are they okay?!" He asked Rick who was sitting at the head of the table. He didn't even notice Franny, Cru, or the other large gentleman sitting across from him.
Rick lifted his hand as Helen entered after her husband. "We've located the children, we're sending agent to scope out and investigate the area, but we didn't want to make any sudden moves until you got here." He said calmly.
"No suddenly moves? Our children are in there!" Gru shouted.
The large man sitting across from him slammed his hand on the table. The table snapped in two. "I can't believe you let our kids get wrapped up into some super villain nonsense!" He shouted. "And I should have known it would have been your kids of all people!"
Bob glared at him. "Excuse me?! Are you insinuating this is somehow their fault?! Did you not here what's going on?! You're daughter went with them willingly! Maybe if you weren't such a-"
"Bob!" Helen shouted cutting her husband off before he said something dangerous. He stopped and looked at her, then grunted before looking down at the ground. Fighting amongst themselves wasn't going to get them anywhere. Helen turned to the large man. "Grug, let's not pass blame right now. Let's just focus on getting our children back safely."
The man grunted and then turned towards Rick. "Okay, we're all here. Now let's get going. Every second wasted is a second our kids are in danger." He said getting up.
"We can't just barge in without knowing the situation." Rick said.
The others were about to shout at him once more, but Franny suddenly stood up. "You're children are heroes." She said looking towards Bob and Helen. "They've been doing this for years. Have faith that they can handle themselves until we arrive."
She then turned towards Grug and Cru. "And I understand that you two are concerned about your children, but Eep is a resourceful and clever young woman. Margo is intelligent and has survived encounters with villains before. I'm not telling you not to worry. My son has survived far worst and I'm still worried. But I think we should all be confident enough in our children to trust that they can take care of themselves."
Grug and Gru both looked at each other before turning back to her. "Wait, who are you?" Gru asked curiously.
"No one important." She said waving her hand. "The point is rushing in blindly with guns blazing like the children did will only get us in even more trouble. That being said, I don't think we should just sit here either. Let's go down there, scope out the area, find the kids, and get them out quickly. Sound like a plan?"
The whole room sat in silence. Rick cleared his throat getting their attention. "What she said."
The ride up the elevator was a very uncomfortable one. It was cramped beyond believe. As if the kids hadn't been hard enough, they had to fit all the animals on as well. Ted stood beside the dragon with was eyeing him evilly. "Hey Anna, want to switch?" He asked nervously.
"Fat chance." She said rolling her eyes.
Antonio looked annoyed as the owl bear hybrid creature rubbed its face against his cheek. He tried to shove it away, but it kept coming back and purring affectionately. "I hate cats." He muttered under his breath.
Margo chuckled. "You should be glad somebody likes you." She said causing him to scowl.
Penny was holding her dog in her arms witch was wagging its tail happily, and Eep was sitting on top of the large tiger's back. "We came in here with four people, and now we practically have a small army." Dash said shaking his head.
"Whatever gets us out of here quicker." Violet said as the small elephant creature on her shoulder blew its trunk.
The elevator suddenly stopped and the lights turned off. Electricity sparked and suddenly Vanellope appeared in between everyone. "We've reached the top floor." She said looking a bit out of breath.
"You okay?" Gloyd asked.
She held her hand up. "Yeah, yeah I'm good. Just a little out of breath. Usually I can go full charge, but I had to power up the elevator enough to get it working without shorting it out. But don't worry, I'm okay." She assured.
Violet nodded. "Okay, I'll open the door and-"
"I got it." Anna said walking forward. She reached forward and grabbed the elevator doors. With one yank she easily pulled them apart. "Like I said, crazy strong-" A bullet whizzed by and suddenly bounced off her forward. It didn't seem to faze her, but it did get her attention.
She turned back toward the door and saw a whole squad of guards who were lined up in the hallway. "The intruders have reached level 36! I repeat, the intruder have reached level 36! We request immediate back up as soon as-"
"AAAAHHHHH!" Anna charged forward and punched out the guard at the front. He went flying back and crashed into a wall before falling to the floor. The other guards all looked at the scene totally stunned. "Anyone else want to try?" Anna dared.
The rest of the guards suddenly pointed their weapons at her. They fired, but the bullets didn't do a thing. After a few of the bullet that had bounced off of her hit a few of the guards, they stopped. Some of the guards pull out batons and stun stick and prepared to rush her, but before they could charge at her Kristoff, whose skin was now metal, tackled into them.
Guards fell all over the place and the others quickly ran off the elevator the help their fellow escapees. Vanellope lifted her hands and blasted a few of them. Gloyd teleported behind one and touched him, causing him to vanish. "See ya." He said smirking.
Antonio ran at one of the guards who threw a punch at him, but he easily ducked and took both his baton and his stun stick. He zapped the guard causing him to become dazed, and then hit him in the side of the head with the baton. Another one came behind him, but Margo raised her hands sending him flying back. Antonio looked towards her a bit surprised. "…gracias."
He turned away and began fighting again. Margo looked surprised as well. He had actually thanked her. That was… odd. She turned and began flinging guards aside once more. Violet knocked guards aside with her force fields. "To the exit, quick!"
As they knocked the guards aside they headed towards the door Violet and the others had entered through. Two large robots suddenly appeared in the door way. Before they could even lift their arms however, the dragon flew forward and tackled it to the ground. It opened its mouth and chomped down on it, biting it's head off. It then blew fire on the remains.
The other was pounced on by the owl bear hybrid and easily torn apart. The kids quickly began making their way outside. As they passed Antonio stopped and patted the bear owl. "I hate cats a little less now." He said smirking.
As they began running out, Violet and Dash stopped and turned around. "Okay, you guys make a run for it. We'll going back inside to get Wilbur and the others." Violet said.
Anna stepped forward. "I'm going back in too, my sister is in there."
"And our friend." Vanellope reminded.
Dash sighed. "Look, you guys just get to a safe distance and stay out here! We'll go in and get everybody who still needs rescuing. We're the heroes, we can handle everything they throw at us." He said. The ground suddenly began to shake, and everyone struggled to keep on their feet. The building before them, the fake one that had hidden the entrance, suddenly split apart.
Two long metal tentacles with claws at the end of them shot out and grabbed onto the ground. A large round robot pulled itself up from the hole in the ground. All of them looked stunned, but none more than Dash and Violet. "The… the Omni-droid…" Dash said in disbelief. "But… how?! We destroyed it!"
The Omni-droid turned towards them and its eye lit up. It began making its way towards them, firing its laser as it did so. "Oh no!" Violet held her hand up putting a force field around them all. The laser bounced off it and hit a nearby building.
"What is that thing?!" Penny shouted.
"Run! Everybody just run!" Dash shouted. "Go! Hurry!"
They all turned to run, but an object suddenly crashed down cutting them off. Violet looked up and gasped. "You've got to be kidding me…" It was a second Omni-droid. "This is impossible!"
It aimed one of its arms before stabbing at them. Violet was going to throw up another force field, but suddenly the dog in Penny's hand barked and a loud sonic wave sent the robot sliding back. "Good boy Bolt." Penny said scratching his head. Bolt jumped out of her arms and growled. "Okay boy, attack!"
The other looked surprised as the dog charged forward and shot beams out of its eyes. It hit the robot, but the metal seem too strong for it to cut through. Penny looked surprised. Bolt's beams should have easily been able to cut through the metal. What was it made of? The Omni-droid began stabbing at Bolt who was swiftly avoiding it.
"He can't hold one off on his own, let alone both." Anna said before turning around to the other robot. "I get that you guys are heroes, but you seem a little over your head. Let us help you. Back us up." She said. Before even waiting for an answer, she charged at the other robot.
Violet reached out to stop her, but Dash put a hand on her shoulder. She turned to him. "Violet, we can't take them on our own. We need their help." He said.
She frowned and then turned towards the others. They all stared back at her with mixed emotion on their faces. She hated to admit it, but Dash was right. There was no way they could win this fight on their own. "Minty, can you control them?" She asked.
The green haired girl shook her head. Violet sighed. So much for the easy way out. "We can't take them head on, but we can keep them off balance! Vanellope, I want you to try and look for an opening to get inside! Maybe you can short them out! The rest of us will back you up! Try and keep a distance if you can! And cover one another!"
Everyone quickly began rushing at the robots. Anna grabbed one of the robots arms and then turned and swung downward. In an amazing display of strength, she through the Omni-droid over her shoulder slamming it into the ground behind her. "Man! She is strong!" Margo said impressed.
"Back her up!" Kristoff said rushing in. He ran up to the robot and placed a hand on it while it was still down. His skin began turning to metal, and he balled his fist up and punched forward, attempting to put a hole in it. He managed to make a dent, but it didn't completely give.
Kristoff balled his fist up and looked at it. Whatever metal this was, it was tough. He felt much lighter, but sturdier then steel. "Look out!" Kristoff looked up and saw the robot reaching towards him. Before it could grab him however, it suddenly stopped in midair. He looked over and saw Margo who had her hands raised in the air. "I-I can't hold it!"
"Just a little longer!" Anna shouted running towards it. She punched the side of the Omni-droid creating an even bigger dent than Kristoff did. She brought her hand back to punch again, but it used its other arm and smack her away. She crashed into a nearby building.
"Anna!" Kristoff cried.
"I'm okay!" He heard her call.
The Omni-droid got back up and turned towards Margo. She backed away nervously. "Uh…" It reached for her, but a gust of wing suddenly came and knocked its arm away. Ted landed a few feet away from her and shot another blast of air at the Omni-droid.
The machine didn't budge. It only fired a blast at Ted who quickly jumped out of the way. It kept firing at Ted who was jumped up and down to avoid the blasts. Anna who had gotten up from the ruble of the wall she'd been smashed through, shook her head and picked up a nearby rock. She took aim, and then hurled it as hard as she could.
It smashed against the gun on the side of the Omni-droid's head knocking it off. "Nice one Anna!" Margo yelled giving her a thumbs up.
Antonio who had been keeping a safe distance away looked down at the gun. He smirked before picking it up. "Si, very nice." He said taking aim. He reached inside of the gun and began feeling around. "Trigger should be right about…" The gun fired and hit the Omni-droid in the face, sending it stumbling back. "There it is."
The Omni-droid turned towards him and lifted its claw, then thrust it forward stabbing at him. Antonio was snatched out of the way by the owl bear. He climbed on top of his back and then smiled patting him on the head. "I'm in love with cats now." He aimed the gun back at him and fired again. The blast didn't break its amour, but it did leave a thin scratch.
The other robot was pushed back once again by Bolt. Penny stood beside him still giving orders. "Speak!" She ordered. He barked again, but this time the Omni-droid had its claws dug into the ground. It grabbed a nearby street lamp and then hurled it at him.
Before it could hit them however, Vanellope appeared before them. She stopped the street lamp with a streak of electricity and hurled it back. It struck the Omni-droid, but didn't do any damage. "Man this thing is sturdy."
The Omni-droid leapt into the air and was about to crash down on top of them. Gloyd appeared and then grabbed onto Vanellope and Penny. "Let's move ladies." He vanished just before the robot crashed into them. They reappeared on top of a nearby building. "Oh fudge! I forgot the dog!" He shouted.
"It's okay, Bolt is way more durable than he looks." Penny assured. As if on cue, a loud bark was heard, and once again the Omni-droid was pushed off the ground and smashed into a building.
"Man. He really is awesome."
The Omni-droid rose up and prepared to fire at Bolt, but a force field appeared around the gun just as it fired. The blast was reflected right back and destroyed the gun, and a portion of the Omni-droid's head. "Nice one Vi!" Dash said running past his sister.
He ran up to the robot's head and placed his hands on the side of its head. He began shaking his hands and a few screws flew off the Omni-droid. If he managed to shake the head loose than he could get inside and shut it down. The Omni-droid reached up and grabbed him. "Oh crap!"
The Omni-droid's eye suddenly began glowing, and it fired a large red laser. Violet barely had time to put a force field around him. The beam easily began cracking the force field, but just before the beam would have incinerated Dash, he disappeared and was replaced with a rock. He reappeared next to Gloyd, panting and looked shocked. "I-I almost died."
"You're welcome." Gloyd said panting as well.
Violet narrowed her eyes at the Omni-droid. "It's been upgraded with some serious tech. These won't be as easy to take down as the last one." She said.
"The first one wasn't easy." Dash said frowning. "What are we supposed to do?"
As the Omni-droid stalked towards them, they heard a loud roar echo through the air. The dragon flew towards the Omni-droid and brought his head back before shooting a streak of fire at its head. It began backing away and the dragon flew past it. It came around for another attack, but the Omni-droid turned around and began firing at it.
The dragon easily dodged the laser, and every swipe of the claw the Omni-droid took at it. "I am so keeping that thing!" Dash said looking ecstatic.
Eep quickly looked around and then spotted an old car. She ran over and then ripped the car door off. She wasn't as strong as her father or bob, but this feat was easy enough for her. She took aim and then threw the car door as if it were a Frisbee.
It flew towards the Omni-droid just as it was about to fire. The laser went off, and the door flew right in front of the line of fire. The resulting explosion knocked the Omni-droid off his feet and caused it to fall over. What was left of its head was now gone. "Alright! I am awesome!" Eep cheered. Another head popped out of the bottom of the Omni-droid and it rolled over so it was now right side up. "Are you kidding me?!"
Violet made a huge force field and then hurled it at the robot. It smashed again its side and sent it stumbling. She tried again, but this time it swung its arms and smashed through it. "This isn't working, we need another plan." Eep said.
"The plan is hold out until back up gets here!" Violet shouted.
"And when it back up coming?!"
They heard a loud cracking sound and all turned around. The Omni-droid Anna and the others were fighting was suddenly being covered in ice. It tried to break loose, but one of the arms was completely frozen. It shattered into bits. "What the-?!"
A large yellow energy blast suddenly hit the Omni-droid in front of them and created a large hole inside of its armor. "What's going on?!" Eep asked.
"The Calvary is here." They looked up and saw Wilbur standing on a nearby building. Beside him were Elsa, Rapunzel, and Swizzle.
"Wilbur!" Violet said excitedly. She didn't think she'd ever be this happy to see him. "How did you get out of there?!"
"With some help." He said nodding to the others.
Elsa shot a blast of ice at the Omni-droid she attacked earlier. Anna turned around and gasp when she spotted her sister. "Elsa!" She cried happily.
Elsa didn't acknowledge her. She kept focusing on freezing the robot. "I've got this one. You take care of the others." She said as she increased the blast.
Rapunzel turned towards the other robot. "Now that we're outside, I feel so much stronger." She said as her hair began growing again. She flew up into the air and towards the robot. She began shooting energy blast at it.
Swizzle cracked his knuckles and then held his arm out. One of the robot arms suddenly began to twist up, until it was torn off. "Swizz!" Gloyd said. "Where have you been man? And when did your powers turn so awesome!"
Swizzle laughed. "I was always awesome. I just didn't know how awesome until now!" He said throwing his hands upwards. The panels of his armor began to tear off.
Violet looked back and forth between the robots. It looked like the tides were turning in their favors. Wilbur landed down beside her. "You miss me?" He asked smiling.
"Like I missed a bad rash." Violet joked.
"Hey, you do have a sense of humor. Pretty bad time to show it, but nice to know." He said pulling out his weapons. "So, what's the plan boss lady?"
"Me? I thought you were Mr. Future all-knowing plan guy."
"Not all that good with battle formations. Not with enemies I have no idea about anyway." He said as he watched Rapunzel shoot another blast.
Violet looked closely. The tears in the armor that had been made were repairing themselves. They really were made with some advanced technology. She turned towards the others. "We need to tear through enough of the amour to get to the power core. If you can give me an opening, then I can get a force field around it and rip it out."
"Got it." Eep said.
"No problem." Swizzle said smirking.
"Dash, tell the others they need to get to the core and yank it out. I'm sure with that ice girl over there they can hold it down long enough to get through." Violet said. Whoever she was, she was even more powerful than Lucius. "Go."
"Gone." Dash said before zipping off.
"Alright guys, lets' do this!" Violet charged in and the other followed after her.
A/N: Okay, I know it's been a while since I updated, but it's only because I had some serious writers block. The main problem was how the two groups was going to meet up. At first I was going to show it from their difference points of view, but that came out a total mess. So I just decided to focus on Violet's group and have the others come in to save the day.
I hope you guys like the action scene. I tried to get everyone in there a decent among. It's a pretty big crossover so there's a lot to work with, but most of these characters won't be staying, so I wanted to give them their moment to shine. The next chapter will also be pretty action heavy, at leas the beginning will anyway.
Most of the animals they found in the lab were from the Croods. One of the things I loved in that movie were the really creative creatures. I especially like the Owl Bear, and for some reason I see him being Antonio's pet. Had to throw in 'Chunky' too of course. Bolt was also thrown in there, and for this story his TV show back story is the real thing. Just thought that'd be simpler. The dragon... well, I assuming most of you can guess what that's from. I'll be making a series of stories that will eventually all come together, Avengers style. I wonder which one will be next?
I've been thinking a lot about what I'm going to do with this story. How many people will stay and actually join the team? Margo is a given, but I've been thinking about adding one more. What pairing am I going to go with? I was originally going to go with Ted and Margo, but I also kind of like the idea of Antonio and Margo. Kind of like a redemption story for him. What do you guys think?
