Danny reached school, hoping to get through the day. Sadly, it wasn't the case with Dash looking for him. He didn't get why Dash was taking all of his problems out on him. Even then he had nothing to do with it. He's also been hearing rumors about him and Bowsette. Some were wondering how the meanest girl in school when from being mean to nice around him. He was surprised too, but he did get to know her during their project. He could also tell she was holding something back but chose not to seek it in case it was too much for her.
Danny closes his locker and started to head to class, only to spot two people that walked up to him.
"Hey, dude!" Tucker said, smiling.
"Hey, Danny," Sam said, smiling.
"Welcome back, guys," Danny said, hugging his two best friends.
"Good to see you too, Danny," Sam said, not minding his hug.
"So, how's everything?" Tucker asked.
"Same old, same old." Danny shrugs before recalling something.
"Actually, there is one thing different." He said, surprising his friends.
"We had a new transfer student," Danny told them.
"Transfer student? We still have those?" Tucker asked.
"So, who's the new person?" Sam asked.
"I'm sure you guys have heard about Bowsette Koopa?" Danny asked.
"KOOPA?! You mean the one that owns DarkLand INC?!" Sam asked, surprised.
"That's her father. I meet them both, actually." Danny said.
"Wait, his daughter comes here?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, Mr. Lancer pair me and her up for a project," Danny said.
"What project?" Tucker asked.
"Anything we wanted to cover. So we went with Shakespeare." Danny said.
"Dude, you don't even like Shakespeare because you can't understand a word of it," Tucker said.
"Which is why we decide to change it into a report of the man himself," Danny said, sighing.
"Hold on, I've been hearing how Bowsette Koopa was even a bigger jerk than Dash and Paulina," Sam said.
"She was, at least during the first few days. Since we got paired up, I saw more sides to her." Danny said.
"Really?" Sam asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, much like most of the A-Listers, she's rich but doesn't wave her money around. She kind of like you, Sam." Danny said, surprising the goth.
"From what I understand, her father always makes time for her, never letting his job get in his way. I also learn her mother passed during childbirth. And she heard "I'm sorry." way too many times. So, I would avoid saying those words to her." Danny said.
"Anything else? Like sisters, maybe?" Tucker asked.
"She's an only child, Tuck," Danny told him.
Tucker frowns as Danny continues.
"She also does normal teenage things. When I was at her place yesterday I was thinking about having her go bowling with me. Maybe as a reward for our project?" Danny said before noticing his friends were quiet.
"Guys?" He asked, looking at their shocked faces.
"YOU WENT TO HER PLACE?!" They shouted.
"Yeah, Mr. Koopa gave me a card that would allow me to enter the mansion and his work whenever I want to. He also thinking about giving me a upgrade as well." Danny told them.
"What card?" Sam asked.
"Sorry, guys, but I have to keep it in my pocket. Knowing Dash, he'll try to swipe it from me the minute I pull it out." Danny said.
"Over my father's dead body!"
The three turned and saw Bowsette walking up to them, looking upset.
"Let me guess, Dash tried to hit on you again?" Danny asked.
"For the tenth time this week! When will he get that no means NO!" Bowsette growls.
"He won't." Danny sighs.
"Um, Danny?" Sam said, holding Tucker back.
"Right, Bowsette, these are..."
"Tucker Foley and Sam Manson. I know." Bowsette said, surprising the three.
"My father knows of your parents. He's very close to just banning them from his job." She said to Sam.
"And I heard of your flirting with girls. I'm not interested." She said to Tucker.
'Though, there is one guy I'm interested in.' She thought to herself.
"And I heard what you said, Danny. I would like to go bowling with you." She said to Danny.
"Really?!" Danny asked, surprised.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" Sam asked, crossing her arms.
"Hmph! What? You think I'll break a nail? Please, who do you think I am? Paulina?" Bowsette scoffs.
"And what about treating everyone like they're below you?" Sam asked, recalling some of the rumors she heard.
"BELOW me?! On no, no one is below or above me. My poppa went through that when he was younger and wants me to avoid making the same mistakes. Besides, the A-Listers won't be getting away with their ways for long." Bowsette told her.
"Then why are they calling you the meanest person in town?" Tucker asked.
"NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" Bowsette shouted.
"Whoa, whoa! Bowsette! Calm down!" Danny said, knowing she did have a temper that was a bit hard to keep down.
Bowsette took a breath, knowing she can't let her temper get the best of her.
"Sorry. But what I do is my business until I feel right to tell you." She said, looking away.
Tucker backed away as Sam glared at Bowsette. Danny sighs before patting Bowsette on the back. Bowsette seem to relax at his touch which Sam noticed. Before she could say anything, the bell rings, letting everyone know that homeroom was about to start.
"Let's go. I don't want to be late." Danny said.
Bowsette nods, knowing that Dash will try something and Mr. Lancer would ignore his reason. She knew her father was coming to school about that very soon. In fact, she heard that he was working on something to ensure that no one would ignore his demands once he came.
Lunchtime,
Danny, Tucker, and Sam all sat at their table. All three of them catching up.
"So, you're parents overstepped their boundaries and were banned?!" Danny asked.
"Yeah, Grandma told them time and time again that the club was not what they thought it was. However, Mom and Dad refuse to listen and the owner got annoyed by it. She banned them from the club but chose to let my grandma stay. Since I was on my best behavior during our time there, I'm giving a second chance." Sam said, shaking her head.
"Are you going to go back?" Tucker asked.
"No. But Grandma does get lonely and I won't mind going with her instead of my parents." Sam said.
"Man, and I thought my trip was bad," Tucker said.
"It was bad because you couldn't hit on any girls," Sam said, knowing that was the main reason he went on that trip.
"Well, at least you guys are home," Danny said before Bowsette walked up.
"Danny? Can we talk about our project?" She asked.
"Sure, have a seat," Danny said, moving over a bit.
Sam narrows her eyes as Danny and Bowsette looked over their report. The two looked over and talked about the things they have written so far.
"So far, the plays we read come in real handy. Who would think that Shakespeare had so many ideas from seeing people going through it the same as his plays?" Danny said.
"Well, times were different back then. So, most of this stuff is guesswork." Bowsette told him.
Tucker and Sam looked surprised to see how well they were getting along. However, Sam didn't like it. No after how mean Bowsette was when she first came here.
Tucker notices her look and sighs. He could tell that Sam didn't like Bowsette because of her actions, and how close she was to Danny. However, Tucker did not comment on it. He decides that he had enough of Sam's denied feelings towards Danny. Everyone was, in fact. So, they decide to stop supporting the idea of Danny and Sam getting together until they actually do.
Danny and Bowsette looked over the project with Bowsette sneaking a peek at him. She smile softly, feeling that she was slowly winning him over. However, she wasn't blind to what Sam was doing. She's been on that side once with her old crush and knew that look well. However, she wasn't going to sit back and let her treat her like this. But as of now, this report was more important. She did want to get a good grade.
And here's Tucker and Sam. Since they heard about Boswette through the other students, they don't know her as Danny does. And yeah, Sam is jealous of how close the two are since Bowsette started to become more friendly to Danny. And it seems that Bowser is getting ready to make his move on the school's actions, but I want to wait until after they present their report to their class. Might as well let them get their grade first.
It will be a while before their first date, but I was wondering if anyone has ideas for what they could do for it. No rush, by the way. I still got a few more chapters before we reach there.
