I am really considering writing a TOTK rewrite ... not novelization, I did say rewrite. When you consider it there are SOOOOOOO many things wrong with the story. But I already have a lot of fics that need to be updated, so I will hold off this project for a while.

Anyway review corner it is :

All that bouncing on the bed must have made the smol bean tired

If you're worried about the grammar, don't be, it was just me nitpicking. And this chapter is a lot better in that regard! You got this.

Thanks for the update :3

I personally feel more comfortable sleeping in a moving car, probably the movement and the ambient noise ... but ye, that's one good trampol- I mean king sized bed, he deserves it.

This is exactly what i needed today

Glad I made your day.

Now ... this chapter had a lot of time skips, I figured out nothing really important happens while Link grows up, nothing you can't assume at least. I'm going straight to the plot in the next chapter :D

Also the Dragmire are one big family of social cases with exceptional talents :V

Link had the strangest dream ... he was walking through the desert at night and there was a large boar looking creature accompanying him. He tried to talk a few times with it, thinking that perhaps it was a ghost, but the boar never responded, he can't say for how long they walked, or even if they had a specific destination, all he can clesely remember is that the dream ended when they reached a large patch of soft green grass.

Then he woke up, it wasn't the first time he had a ... "lucid" dream ? This sounded like the right word. Where was he again ? Ah yes, the Gerudo Fortress, the beginning of his new life, He should probably get up early and prepare for whatever Ganondorf has in mind.

The air in his bedroom was cold, he looked through the window, the sun was barely rising over the horizon giving the golden sand of the desert a reddish almost bloody aspect. He was in complete awe, new colours, new atmospheres ... new challenges though. Of course a part of him feared the potential failure, he would allow it, fear does give some motivation right ?

Link also noticed his dresser had been filled up with new clothes that matched his size, after changing he decided to head out of his room to go back to the council room, hoping that he would find Ganondorf here.

To his surprise the room was very busy, a lot of Gerudos were either sitting at the table or walking around it, talking to each others, exchanging documents, some actually yelling orders across the room. Link thought it was most likely a better option to just walk out and not disturb anyone, he didn't want to cause a scene, especially if it ended up bothering Ganondorf himself.

As he walked backward Link bumped into someone. "Ah ! I'm glad I caught up to you, I was only way to wake you up and figured out you went here when I couldn't find you." Ganondorf's hand covered his shoulder, the Gerudo King smiled at him and gestured at the other Gerudos in the room "Do not worry about the commotion, it's not always like that, butbky mothers have put on quite a mess and it had to be fixed quickly. We have tight schedules here, everyone has to accomplish their duties ... speaking of which."

Ganondorf spoke loudly to get the attention of his sisters, he announced something and the other Gerudos stopped working, instead they calmed down and began to head outside the palace. "We are heading out for lunch first, we all gather around and we feast together. Do not fear, just stay by my side and everything will be alright, if you need something just ask me, but make sure to use this time to listen and to learn."

Link nodded, in truth he wasn't sure what to expect ... lunch ? People- ... people actually hate three times a day ? He just- ... well, he didn't have "lunch" time, he would be lucky if he managed to get food every day. And eating with other people ? He didn't like the lack of intimacy with the ghosts of the graveyard, would it be different with dozens of Gerudos surrounding him ? At least he could understand what the ghosts where- ... well not understand what they were speaking about, it was still incoherent gibberish, but the young boy could figure out the subject of their exchanges.

Ganondorf led him through the fortress, while the main street was large enough for two carriages to cross each others, the side alleys barely allowed two person to fit at the same time. Strangely enough though, the wind blew really hard through these small alleys, keeping the air partially fresh.

The gathering was the biggest Link had ever seen, he remember the king visited Kakarico once, oh what he feast he made this day, too many people in the streets for merchants to actually notice him taking stuff. Ganondorf held his hand tighter for a second to make Link look up at him, he just smiled at the young boy, telling him that it would be alright.

All the Gerudos sat around very long and large tables, large plates of fruits had been prepared for everyone, the way they shared felt alien to Link, Hylians kept to themselves, only eating in family. Would they yell at him if he took something ? It was hard to ask Ganondorf anything with all the ambient noise, thankfully the Gerudo King noticed his distress and would grab something for him every few minutes.

Strange fruits, jellyfied mixtures, something that looked like a shiny rock with dust on it but that actually tasted very sweet yet a bit salty. He was- ... hungry, very hungry, perhaps it was the new feelings that pushed him to rest so much, or the proximity to such am abundance of food.

Link made sure to be on his best behaviour, and just as Ganondorf suggested he listened ... this proved to be useless, so many voices, so many word canceling each others, it was getting more and more oppressive. Plus he was clearly seen as an intruder, he wanted to be as discreet as possible but each time he looked somewhere in the room a few Gerudos were looking back at him, whispering to their neighbor.

When they headed back to the palace Link felt his body shiver, how could anyone handle so much attention on a daily basis ?

"Is something wrong ? Are you feeling sick perhaps ?" The Gerudo worried.

Link denied "L-Lots of people ... loo-looking." He explained.

"Ah, I'm glad you aren't actively looking for attention, trust me, this will save you from a lot of trouble eventually." Ganondorf said, gaining Link's attention. "They are only curious, they saw how much you were enjoying our food, you were just as curious as they were, but not for the same reason ... I guess I should apologise myself, dragging you into the unknown."

Ganondorf went ahead toward his own room, leaving Link behind, the young Hylian caught up to him and grabbed a hold on Ganondorf's trousers, catching back the King's attention. "Yes ?"

"I- ... I want to understand- ... them."

The Gerudo King laughed "Well, five words in the same sentence, that's a beginning. Follow me, during lunch I asked if we had any books or scrolls that would help Hylians to learn Gerudo, turn out we do ! I guess we just never had the occasion to use these ..."

Ganondorf's "quarters", as he called his own room in the palace, didn't exactly look "royal" from Link's point of view. It was as big as the council room in term of space, but there was nothing to make it appear fancy.

The first half of the room contained a bed just as large as his, a desk with scrolls stacked upon each others and an actual library. Link grew curious about Ganondorf's occupations when he wasn't working as the King of his nation. The second half of the room was much more spacious than the first, the Gerudo explained that he used this space to relieve stress and train on his own.

There were the remains of hand made dummies in the corner of the room, a weapon rack with a few thin curved swords and to Link's surprise traces of impacts on the wall ... did Ganondorf do that with his bare hands ?

"I will figure out how to handle physical training later, but for now-" the king searched his desk for two scrolls and one book. The scrolls were entirely written in Gerudo, while the book was mostly written in Hylian. "This book was written by one of our ancestors, they had a few correspondences with Hyrule and thought that one day Hylians might want to learn more about us, so they took it upon themselves introduce our language. This book is a treasure for our people, I don't need to ask you to take care of it."

Link nodded with enthusiasm. "That's what I wanted to hear ... see ... anyway, these scrolls contain reports from our scouting parties who have been sent further to the South of the desert to monitor monsters activities. Your exercise for the end of the week is to be able to translate their report to me, you think you can do it ?"

The two texts were a bit long ... Link knew how to read, but by that he meant sign boards and public announcements. Still, he had to try, he nodded once again. "Good, I won't disturb you while you work, if you have any question or if you need anything feel free to ask me. You can go anywhere in the palace, it would be preferable if you do not go out without me, at least until I'm sure you can communicate correctly with our sisters."

This was their deal, Link set off to work as soon as he could, the young Hylian would spend most of his day in his room, or the fresher parts of the palace literally devouring the content of the book. Whoever wrote it knew how to approach the problem, Hylian and Gerudo were completely different, yet there were a lot of equivalent rules when it came to actually writing or speaking it.

Ganondorf was proud to watch Link focusing on his studies, the boy did not disturb him a lot during the week that followed, only asking for scribbling material on the third day. Nabooru dropped by to, quote, "check if the kid was being fed and hydrated correctly, Ganondorf felt offended but he acknowledged that Nabooru was more experienced in this field, she was an instructor and as such she treated all her trainees like a parent.

Since he had work to do he left Nabooru and Link together during her visits, he would hear giggles and silent talks once he was free from his duties and could join the duo. Link opened up a lot more to his lieutenant than him ... this detail disturbed him but if there was progress somewhere surely it was only a matter of time before he trusted him as much as he trusted Nabooru.

The end of the week arrived and Link was able to make simple requests and give back politeness during each lunch gathering, other Gerudos acknowledged his progress but to keep his promise to the elder Ganondorf had to assess Link's progression.

"Alright, I gave you two reports, are you able to summarise their content ?" The Gerudo asked as he sat at his desk, Link nodded and instead of answering he gave him two sheets of paper. It was his handwriting, no doubt, it was just good enough to be readable but he couldn't blame the child for learning how to write in a single week.

No, problem was, while what Link had written was correct and depressed his expectations, Ganondorf still expected the young Hylian to speak. "Link, could you TELL me what these documents were about ? I do not accuse you of cheating or lying about your progression, but I would like to hear it from you."

The boy shivered, he opened his mouth and gasped out what should have been a word. Ganondorf waited patiently, he didn't want to pressure the young boy. Eventually he managed to say something, and in Gerudo ! But once again Ganondorf wasn't getting what he wanted. "I can't ..." Link said barely aloud.

"You can't ... why ?" He stood up and walked slowly toward the boy, he didn't mean to sound aggressive or angry, yet Link took an hesitant step behind him.

"I-I can't." He repeated in Gerudo once again. Ganondorf had also began to converse with him in Gerudo, perhaps Link didn't notice ?

"Link I asked you why you can't-"

"I CAN'T BECAUSE I'M SCARED !" The boy finally snapped, tears pouring down from his eyes. "I-... I'm scared." He repeated again.

Ganondorf froze for a second, and then even more slowly he got on his knees to be at Link's level. "Did I push you too far ? Or- ... am I the one scaring you ?" He feared Link's answer and yet the reaction he dreaded followed, the young boy nodded. "I won't hurt you, you are to become my brother ... brothers and sisters shouldn't have to fear each others, then please, forgot about the scrolls, but tell me why you fear me."

Link sobbed "I- ... if- ... fail, you-you abandon me or b-banish- ... can't-can't fail, no-no betrayal. Just-just want to-to do good." He attempted to explain with his own words, complicated ones that is, but this was more than enough for Ganondorf to understand in what kind of mental state the young Hylian found himself.

Without hesitation Ganondorf grabbed Link and held him against his body "Abandon you ? I feel insulted, if I had to abandon you, or give up on you, it would mean I was too weak to for you. I have to be strong for all my sisters, this includes you Link. And if you still think that I might hurt you in the future then I failed even more than I ever thought I could."

The cring intensified, but Link returned the embrace. He whispered into the Gerudo's ears "Sarqso ... thank you."

A month passed, Link had grown a bit more confident, it had been officially established that the boy had social anxiety though he was stubborn at fault, training and studying harder than he was requested to, Nabooru called him reckless, Ganondorf instead thought him courageous.

Link went out of the palace a lot more on his own, he managed to socialize a bit with the other youngs at the fortress, they grew accustom to his presence and even started calling him brother instead of voe. He played games with them, told them about Hyrule and how life sucks in the neighbouring kingdom, much to Ganondorf's delight.

After an entire month Link had gained some muscles and the Gerudo king thought the boy was ready to join his sisters under Nabooru's supervision. That same day Link came back with quite a lot of bruises and one nervous instructor. The satisfied grin on the kid's face indicated that he had enjoyed his day, the bruises however were quite concerning.

"Sa'oten Nabooru, just what did you put him through ? This was his first day, did you make an example or ?" Nabooru silenced her King and grabbed herself a chair, after sending Link away to rest she summarised how the day went.

"I didn't "make an example", I wanted to show that there was no favoritism in my ranks, so I set him to fight my best student, I thought she got cocky since Link absolutely dominated her, so I sent the second best ... and then the third, and so on. I made a mistake because then your protege asked if there was more ? He fought them all and win, I fear he is the one who is about to get cocky now."

Ganondorf laughed "I know him, he is satisfied and that's good enough, proud but not blind. He probably just wanted to make you smile ... did he ?"

Nabooru hit Ganondorf's shoulder in a friendly manner "Shut up, my students are gonna ask a lot of questions now, Link upped the level, I swear, either he is a natural or you over trained him ... AGAIN !"

"You are blaming me when "my" student has proven he his better than all of yours ?" The Gerudo king taunted.

Nabooru didn't reply, she closed her eyes and leaned against Ganondorf. "He knows how to fight in his own, until summer ends and we can arrange the ritual of passage at the statues I will teach him how to fight a long his sisters." She continued, Nabooru ran her fingers along Ganondorf's face "Hey Gan ... you did well."

The Gerudo King blushed "You think so ? ... I called us brothers, but the more I think about it- ... you were right, I'm raising him, sort of, but I don't know if he considers me as-"

"His father ? From my point of view, he really hopes you will take the first step, his own courage has its limits." Nabooru held Ganondorf's hand "I wouldn't mind having a kid you know ?" The thoughts crashed into Ganondorf's mind, he pictured his future with both Nabooru and Link standing by his side, the three of them as a family.

It had to be perfect ... "We should avoid to rush things, I want to make it right, for him, for you ... for everyone, if he does become my- ... our son, the that means eventually he will take the lead of our tribe. It's not a burden, it's a responsibility, and I won't force force him to choose duty over family."

Nabooru smiled "That's the Ganon I like." The Gerudo lieutenant stood up and headed out of the palace "Oh ! Before I go though, your mothers and I have been- ... let's say on good terms for the last two weeks. They have been asking a lot of questions about Link, are the two hags still spoiling him ?"

Ganondorf chuckled "They are, I didn't know they had such a soft side, they must be getting old for real this time." The two Gerudo witches visited the palace a lot more often, they pretend it was to keep on eye on their people but truly they came for Link, the boy had a strange aura, they would give him candies and try to initiated him into magic. Turns out Link had no natural ability with magic, but surprisingly enough he was able to manipulate magic artifacts with relative ease.

His mothers had become quite popular too among the younger Gerudos, they pretended to be annoyed but Ganondorf happened to catch them distributing candies to Link and the other kids during on of their "official" visits.

"I cannot complain, no "incidents" involving giant monsters in about three weeks, I hardly believe it myself." As long as it meant less work he was fine with leaving Link in the clutches of the two spoiling hags.

Nabooru shrugged and left quietly, bringing Link back with them did bring a glimmer of joy and hope to their people. Since he didn't have much to do this evening Ganondorf decided to spend some time with his future son, he entered Link's room without knocking, the boy didn't mind, in fact he preferred that way since he didn't have to answer verbally.

The young boy was reading a book about the different kind of creatures that can show up in the desert, Ganondorf had seen that book before, it belonged to his mothers, most likely a gift to their grandson. He leaned over Link to look at the page he was currently reading. "A Molgera ? I haven't seen one in a while, one shows up about every three or four years and hides into a sandstorm deep into the desert. A Molduga is a pathetic underling compared this thing." He commented, making Link chuckle "So, Nabooru told me you performed quite well on your first day, tell me that at least you are on good terms with the other trainees."

Link nodded "Gave them respects, I promise." He answered simply.

"I wasn't expecting less." Ganondorf grabbed a chair in the room and sat next to Link "I have a few things to discuss with you, first ... but I guess Nabooru told you, didn't she ?" Link had become her confident, thanks to his lieutenant, and future queen, the boy was aware most of the time of what was going down in the fortress before the Gerudo King did.

"You are getting married." Link confirmed.

"Oh ... since when-"

"One week."

"Of course she did ... wait- ... I didn't even propose to her yet at this point ! She assumed we- ... hahaha, Nabooru, of course she did. But moving on, this might sound akward Link but- ... after discussing with Nabooru it appears I should be the one reaching out for you, it's quite obvious but our relationship goes far beyond being brothers."

At that point Link had stopped reading his book and focused all his attention towars Ganondorf, waiting almost impatiently.

"You are an orphan born from Hyrule but destiny put you on my path and soon you will be a Gerudo, not by blood, but by soul and mind. Link, I see myself in you, you know the reality of this world, you survived so many hardships on your own yet you still have a lot to learn. I thought I could give you what you need to become a great man but now I thing I can give you what you never had." The Gerudo King grabbed Link by his shoulders "Would you like to have a family ? I can't promise much, I'm a king and I have a duty to our people and so does Nabooru and my mothers are most likely not ready to become grannies but-"

Link hugged Ganondorf's torso, interrupting the Gerudo's speech "Talk too much." He laughed.

"And I was trying to take it slow ..." Ganondorf hugged back.

Six months since Link arrived at the fortress, the Gerudos had been quite busy, their King announced that he was getting married to none other than Lieutenant Nabooru, while their had been rumours and careless whispers nobody saw that coming.

Except Koume and Kotake, they had been alerted by Ganondorf in person, they were sceptical, Nabooru had morals and as a result they feared she might choose her own beliefs over necessity. The two witches were hard to convince but they reached a consensus, Nabooru was by far the best and the only viable choice to become the next queen.

Link did threaten the two hag to hate them forever if they prevented him from getting a mother, this part of the negotiations was kept between the trio though.

It was their wedding day, the sky was quite cloudy, a rare phenomenon in the desert, the colours of the desert diminished in intensity and a greyish blue atmosphere surrounded the fortress. In Hyrule this would be seen as bad omen, but in the desert, it was a good sign, a small miracle might happen, rain in the desert ...

Link was accompanying Nabooru, it was part of the ceremony but he didn't get the details, Nabooru's robe was yellow and orange. Link had seen weddings in Kakarico, people would be heading to the church and then- ... he couldn't tell since he wasn't allowed inside but it was most likely boring prayer stuff. Then they would throw a big party and a feast, this is the part Link enjoyed the most because it was easier to steal stuff, always a lot of leftovers.

He would be part of the ceremony this time though, as Nabooru was waiting for the seamstress to finish the details of her dress she explained to Link what he had to do, simple enough, he would be given a decorated dagger than would be use to cut her and Ganondorf's hand. It was meant to symbolize their union and their influence over the next generations, Nabooru was worried since Koume and Kotake would be the ones handling the knife.

"Why am I so stressed ? It feels like I'm living the last day of my life, something is urging me to step out but I have been waiting so long for this moment." Nabooru tapped her foot against the floor due to the pression, much to the seamstress annoyance. "Link, how do I look ? Did I cry ? I feel like my makeup is-"

"It's fine, sweat." He answered, short and straight to the point as always, if Nabooru was stressed the young boy was restless, he was going to have a father and a mother ! What could possibly ruin this day ? No matter what happens he won't blame any of them.

Link was asked to leave the room and to join Koume and Kotake at the temple of the fortress, the two witches had taken care of Ganondorf's clothes, it was one of the rare times Link had seen his dad wear something else than his black plate armor. This time he was wearing a long black cloak with golden jewelry, the cloak had a lot of symbols tying back to the Gerudo culture, he also had one his signature long swords attached to his waist.

"Ah Link ! How is Nabooru feeling ? Better than I do right ?" Ganondorf asked.

One thing was certain, they were both just as scarred as the other was. Link shrugged and approached the altar, his dad often brought him to the temple, Gerudos didn't have scheduled prayer sessions, the temple was dedicated to meditation, the Gerudo king would always say "A serene and sharp mind in a strong body." Ironic judging by the situation.

"Here !" Koume gave Link the decorated dagger, nothing fancy really, the handle was made out of gold and had a single red ruby encrusted into it's hilt. "You will stand next to the altar, and when we call you you will give Kotake the dagger, alright Linky ?"

Linky, he liked the name, he just hoped they would always use it when he is all grown up. He didn't have much to do thankfully, he feared he would have to actually talk or read some ancient text, it was all covered by his grannies.

The ceremony went smoothly, Koume and Kotake didn't cause any incident, and if Nabooru felt any pain she was simply too happy to spend the rest of her life with Ganondorf. Link was too happy and excited to cry, he didn't mind seeing the two kiss, some of the other young Gerudos looked away in disgust and to his surprise Koume and Kotake were crying tears of joy, whispering to each others something about their son growing up too fast.

Three years since Link arrived at the fortress, Nabooru was still in charge of training the young Gerudos along with directing their soldiers, this allowed Ganondorf to focus on politics with the other kingdom and keeping their resources in check.

Link had been introduced to Ganondorf's tasks, they did go over him potentially becoming the next Gerudo king, while Link had no interest into actively taking the position he agreed with his father that if something happened to him he would take this responsibility, for his sisters and the people who welcomed him.

Turns out "politics" did involve Hyrule and the other clans, the Rito, the Zoras, the Gorons ... but in the desert it meant dealing with the Lezalfos, the Bulbins ... monsters had formed communities, hostile ones that is. Link hated economics with a living passion, managing numbers was boring, though Ganondorf had the same hatred for this domain it was necessary and as always Link did his best to fulfil his duty.

The young boy spent less time training with the other Gerudos of his age as a result, Nabooru told him that he already knew how to handle a weapon and fight, if he wanted to help his sisters only Ganondorf could teach him more.

Nabooru was a good mother, strict, but caring, it had been difficult at first, switching from just being a mentor and a friend to- ... well ... a mother. They didn't share a lot of emotional moments, they didn't have to, instead Link would ask Nabooru for a ride out in the desert with sand seals from time to time or harasse the Queen to accompany her party out in the desert to hunt Moldugas for example.

Being scolded for his recklessness, arguing about which weapon is superior between a sword and a spear, tricking Ganondorf into thinking that he was actually growing a moustache, the last one was the funniest memory he had yet ... right after when they almost convinced Ganondorf that Link had been a girl since the beginning.

Today was important though, Link along with other childrens of his age was to go through a ritual, or more like a challenge to prove that he was part of the tribe. The children and their parents would gather at the great statues in the desert, here the children would chose a monster to fight, Ganondorf explained that most Gerudos would go hunt a Lezalfos or go after an aerocuda, Link had something else on his mind ...

Koume and Kotake were in charge of summoning the monsters for the ritual, that way if thing went too far they would be able to stop the monsters immediately. Link didn't dare to ask how they could possibly summon monsters, it always felt like a natural occurrence to him.

Ganondorf and Nabooru took the day off to be present, Link wasn't officially a Gerudo, the elders had been quite clear, he had to succeed during the ritual. At this point no one doubted that Link had the necessary skills to become their brother, except Link wanted to prove something, to show them his worth.

As expected his sisters all requested to fight against lezalfos or aerocuda, a few asked to fight a moblin, when it was Link's turn he advanced in the middle of the valley and stood in front of his grannies. The other Gerudos cheered on him, shouting encouragement and calling his name.

"Link of the Gerudo ! Son of our King and Queen, you have grown enough ! Prove to your sisters that you have the will to support your tribe and swear loyalty to the desert !" The two witches repeated to him, just like they did fir the others.

"I swear." Link said as loudly as he could.

"Make an example ! Face your fears, who shall be your opponent ?!" They asked simultaneously, impatient to discover Link's choice.

He took a deep breath "Hinox." The crowd grew silent, Koume and Kotake forced themselves to smile, but Link could see the crisp on their face. When he didn't repeat the two exchanged worried glances, they nodded and gestured at Link stop stand back.

Link looked back at his parents, Ganondorf trusted him and so did Nabooru but perhaps less, recklessness she would tell him yet again. He knew what he was doing, he could do it, he had to. The witches summoned the monster, the hinkx was even taller than Link expected, as it gained consciousness the giant stood up and starred down at the young Hylian.

Link was using a scimitar and a small Gerudo shield, for a moment he wished he was using a spear. The hinkx growled at him and attempted to squish him with it's left fist. Monstrous size might dissuade most people but not Link, the little Hylian was way faster and smarter than this thing, with ease he dodged to the side and proceeded to riposte at the monster's hand.

Getting a few cheap shots was a good start but it wouldn't help Link to end the fight, the hinox removed his hand and went for a kick, Link barely dodged this time, the hinox stumble forward and dropped on the ground, sending a shockwave that made Link roll back in the sand. He recovered quickly but the hinox was already attacking again.

The right hand of the monster dropped toward him, Link raised his shield in front of him as he would've be able to dodge, he couldn't stand his ground against such strength, the giant hand hit him with so much force that Link was sent flying against one of the statues.

He felt something crack in his body, it hurt a lot, the hinox laugh at him, no one was cheering anymore, they just wanted to see the fight end. No, not like this, he had to- ... he had to win. His vision cleared, he felt something burning inside of him, Link's blood was boiling, he took back his sword and shield, for a brief moment he believed he saw his right hand glowing.

The hinox was charging at him, Link yelled as loud as he could and threw his shields at the monsters eye, the hinox roared in pain and fell on his back. The young Hylian charged at the monster, he knew what to target, Link jumped into the air and landed on the hinox's belly.

The monster attempts to grab Link while regaining his composure, using the tattered clothes of the hinox Link made his way into the back of the hinox. The creature panicked, it couldn't reach Link, the hinox shook it's body in every direction to get Link off. The boy used this momentum to get sent into the air, Link grabbed his scimitar with both hands, he let out a powerful scream and dived down toward the hinox's eye.

The monster froze, it's skin darkened and his muscles went limp, as it collapsed in the sand the scimitar lost it's grip and Link landed back on the sand. He looked at his sisters and proclaimed his victory by raising his scimitar above his head. Ganondorf and Nabooru left the cheering crowd to check on him, ince they were sure he was fine Link was lifted on Ganondorf's shoulders, perhaps this day would be his favourite memory now ?

Three years and two months after Link joined the Gerudos and became one of them, people had grown accustomed to calling him their prince. He wasn't though, he tries to ask them to just call him Link but- ... people sticked to his unofficial title somehow.

He was Link Dragmire, son of Ganondorf and Nabooru Dragmire ... Link of the Gerudo, nothing else, nothing more. He had absolutely everything he needed, he had gotten more and more involved into his people's affair, if he wasn't assisting his parents what else could he do ? The young Gerudo would die of boredom ...

It was a rough period for his people, hunting parties in the desert often came back empty handed and Ganondorf wished he could avoid resorting to pillage. Nabooru managed to convince Ganondorf it would be a good idea to visit Hyrule again and to negotiate with the it's people, if the King of Hyrule was as stubborn as the last time they could always tries to discuss with the other tribes.

"He literally kicked us out last time." The Gerudo king reminded.

"Correction, he was rude so you politely left, the queen was feeling hill back then ... I'm sure having a feminine presence by his side will temper his own idiocy. Do you- ... do you intend to bring Link with us ?" Nabooru asked calmly.

Link was present in the council room, helping to sort out reports, the conversation caught his attention as his name was mentioned. Ganondorf didn't miss his song movement, the Gerudo king sighed "Well, we don't have anything to lose ... besides we have a lot of rare monster parts in reserve we could trade in Hyrule ... do you want to join us Link ?"

Hyrule ... a part of him felt wrong about going back to the kingdom, yet he was curious, he had never been to Castle Town before, plus it was the occasion to meet the king ! And the other races ! Link nodded.

"Fine, then we have to prepare our journey, if we are able to leave tomorrow we might be able to go back before the next full moon."
