A/N: Just a heads up guys... things are about to get heavy...

Cypher looked off in the distance with a grunt. Brutus and Scourge were both struggling to deal with the heroes. They must have been waiting to ambush all of them. He'd have to get over and help them out. So long as they could hold out for a few minutes, they'd be fine. "YAH!" A blast of wind suddenly hit his side, sending him sliding back a few feet. Roots sprung up from the ground and wrapped around his feet.

He snorted. "These are the heroes that will somehow resist us?" He asked aloud. He walked forward, easily ripping the roots apart. Dash ran around him delivering punch after punch, but he seemed unfazed. He swung down at Dash who easily zipped out of the way as Wilbur fired a blast from his gun.

The blast hit him head on, but he kept walking forward. "I'm beginning to believe that the forces we sent were simply not up to par. The fact that they could not defeat such a feeble race is just embarrassing." He said easily brushing off the shields Violet threw at him.

Wilbur gritted his teeth. He knew Cypher would be tough, but this was insane. He had the durability of Brutus, the battle skills of Scourge, and his reflexes were in a league of their own. They wouldn't be able to hold out long against this monster. They needed the others to hurry up. "Much as I'd like to fool around with you apes, I'll have to finish you quickly."

He jumped forward and punched at Ted, who quickly flew out of the way. Cypher gripped the ground before ripping a chunk out and throwing it at Ted. Ted paled and watched as the speeding piece of ruble bulleted towards him, but a shield quickly surrounded him taking the blow.

Violet grunted. He really was strong. That throw had almost put a crack in her shield. She couldn't imagine trying to block him head on. As if reading her thoughts of dread, Cypher turned towards her. "It appears I'll have to deal with you first." He said as he suddenly charged at her.

"Over my dead body!" Wilbur shouted before flying at him with his rocket boots. He kicked him and turned the boots to full thrust, hoping to burn him. He barely even flinched. He reached up and grabbed Wilbur's leg, causing him to grit his teeth in pain.

"My son has a particular grudge against you. I'll leave you alive so he can end you himself." He said before throwing him aside and continuing towards Violet. Dash suddenly ran in front of him and began spinning both his arms in a circular motion. The high speed movements began creating two small twisters that shot at the alien brute.

"Don't touch my sister you freak!" He shouted. Ted quickly stepped beside him and fired off another tornado. Cypher began being pushed back, but then firmly planted his feet on the ground. He began pressing forward, and Dash and Ted quickly poured more into their attack. It seemed to work, as he was once again stopped in his track.

Cypher reached down and grabbed the ground once more, before suddenly flipping it upwards. A large chunk of the ground was now falling towards them. Dash and Ted quickly moved out of the way, and Audrey grabbed Violet before sprouting two large wing like leafs from her back and taking off into the air as well.

Violet couldn't believe it. He'd flipped the ground like a carpet just now! He didn't even seem to struggle with it! How strong was he?! "Oh crap!" Audrey shouted. Violet looked over and saw Cypher had jumped up and was headed right for them! He swung one mighty fist just as she put a force field around them.

The force field was sent flying down as if it was a volley ball, crashed against the ground and cracked a bit before disappearing. Violet shook her head and Audrey groaned. Cypher landed and immediately headed for them again, but Audrey lifted her hand and began shooting a barrage of seeds at him. He shrugged them off.

"You think you can defeat me with plant life?"

"Don't underestimate the power of plants buddy." Audrey said smirking. The ground suddenly began shaking, and Cypher looked around confused. Large tree roots suddenly began shooting out of the ground. Audrey moved her hands, and if by being controlled by strings, the roots moved towards him. "Eat this!"

The roots all moved in, and Cypher pulled out his sword and stating cutting them away. More quickly replaced them however, and before he knew it he was surrounded. The roots began moving and twisting around him. They spiraled around one another attempting to crush the alien. Audrey tightened her hand, and they tightened up with a sickening crunch.

She dropped her hands. Controlling that many large plants wasn't too difficult, but making them all grow so rapidly was a challenge. Ted landed down beside them, and Dash joined him. "Did we win?" Ted asked hopefully.

Wilbur walked beside them and cocked his gun. "You know better than to ask that." He said already taking aim. "He wouldn't die that easily."

"He's right." Audrey said. "I can feel him tearing his way out of there right now."

Violet raised her hands. "The moment he pops outs, hit him with everything you've got. I know we only planned to stall until the others were done, but if we don't give it our all, we won't survive that long." She said. "Wilbur, is Franny ready yet?"

"No. We need another minute or two." Wilbur said.

Violet sighed. Of course they did. Cypher burst out of the roots and Wilbur immediately began firing. Audrey shot more seeds, and Ted shot wind at him. Cypher pushed through all of it. Violet growled. "Cpt. Future! Grenades!"

Wilbur nodded before pulling out four grenades. He hurled them at Cypher and Violet put a force field around him. The grenades went off and the explosion was contained by the force field. When it went down, Cypher stood looking annoyed. Aside from a few burn marks, he seems unfazed. "Crap! Are you kidding me?!" Ted said.

Audrey quickly sent more roots, but he grabbed them and ripped them away. "Anybody else got anything up their sleeve?" She asked. "Cause we could use them!"

Dash cracked his neck. "I have a plan. I'm gonna punch him until he goes down." He said rushing at him. Violet reached out to stop him, but he was already gone. Dash began running around him and throwing a number of punches and kicks. None of them seemed to do anything to Cypher.

Cypher grunted. He knew he couldn't catch him. But it wasn't as if Dash could hurt him either. So he just decided to ignore him and keep going. Dash growled before running up onto his back and punching him in the back of the head. "Don't you ignore me you alien freak! Fight me like a man!" He said.

Cypher reached back to swat him off his back, but Dash moved out of the way. "C'mon! You call that fighting? I've seen babies throw better punches than that!" Cypher tried to walk past him again, but Dash threw a piece of ruble at him. Cypher was starting to get annoyed. What did this puny little imp think he was accomplishing.

"That rash little knuckle head." Violet said. "What does he think he's doing?"

"He's stalling." Wilbur muttered. "Good job dude."

Violet actually was… impressed. Her brother didn't usually use his head like this. She supposed the gravity of the situation was making him act a little more carefully. Cypher lifted his hands and smashed into the ground. Dash was sent flying as a large crater formed beneath him. Ted flew forward and caught Dash before dropping him on the ground. "Is it ready yet?" Vi asked.

"No." Wilbur said.

Violet cursed and put two force field around her fist. Turned invisible and then moved towards Cypher. The alien felt a blow to his leg and nearly fell to the ground. It was quickly followed by another hit to the chin. Cypher scowled. "Deceitful little wench…" He pulled his visor down and turned on heat vision. "You think you can hide from me?"

He swung at her, and she lifted her hands to block it. The two shields were smashed, and she was sent flying back. Wilbur caught her before tossing a ball which exploded into foam. The foam quickly hardened, but Cypher easily broke through it. "Seriously! Is it ready yet?!" Violet asked worriedly.

"It's not-"

"It's ready!" They heard Franny's voice say over their earpieces. A bright light suddenly began to shine from the top of a nearby building. Cypher looked up in confusion. "Sweetie, you may want to take cover!" They heard her shout. Wilbur lifted Violet up bridal style and flew up into the air. The others also cleared the way as fast as they could.

Cypher used his visor to zoom in on the light. He could see Franny holding a large high tech looking gun. He scowled. "A gun? Your inferior earth technology can't-" Franny fired the gun and a large beam of light suddenly flew towards him. He grew wide eyed as the beam blasted him. Franny gripped the gun as tightly as she could to keep from being flung back.

She knew that Gru's new weapon would pack a punch, but this was crazy. She was tied down to the building, but she still felt like she was going to go flying. Wilbur looked at the beam of light in awe. The spot where Cypher was, or more than likely used to be, was being pushed into the ground. Cracks were forming around it in the earth.

Anything that hadn't been nailed down was flying off. He even saw a few cars and trucks being hurled back by the impact. Audrey had grabbed onto a nearby street lamp with one of her vines, and Ted and Dash had grabbed a bolted down park bench. The only reason he presumed he wasn't being blown back was because Violet had a shield up.

After nearly a minute, the light finally started to die down. After it finally dispersed, they all gathered around the hole, ready to keep fighting. Wilbur looked through his goggles trying to find any signs of life. "I'm…not getting any life signs down there…"

"I'm not sensing anything either." Audrey said putting her hand on the ground. "I think… I think he's actually dead. We did it."

The ground rumbled. "God dang it!" Ted cursed.

"How?! How could he have survived that?!" Dash said. It shook again.

"I know what the problem is now…" Everyone's eyes widened. "It's not that you humans are particularly strong, or even resilient…" Another shake, and they nearly fell off their feet. "You're just too stubborn to die!"

The ground split apart, and Cypher burst up from below the sidewalk. They quickly charged him, but he raised his hands and a pulse of energy shot out from around him. It sent them all flying backwards. "I don't know whether it's bravery, an ability to suppress fear or common sense, or just sheer stupidity! But the effort to take this planet has proven far more than it's worth!"

He pushed a button on his wrist. "I'm going to reduce this entire city into nothing!" The device on his wrist lit up. "I'll rid myself of both the time fugitives, and the young heroes." He said smiling deviously. The armada of this time period would probably take notice of this too. Good, they needed to deal with this planet sooner than later.

A large ship suddenly flew down towards them and landed in front of Cypher. Wilbur fired at him again, but the ship suddenly emitted a large green energy dome which surrounded it. "I have no qualms about dying in this timeline. So long as I can rid my future self of you lot." He said walking onto the ship.

Wilbur glared at him. "W-what's he planning on doing?!" Ted asked.

"He's going to try and blow up the city with his Hyper Hyperion. It's a last ditch weapon they used when an area they could afford to lose became too hard to control." Franny answered. "We need to get past that force field and onto that ship now!"

Violet pressed her ear piece. "Everyone, I hope you're finished, cause we have a city destroying crisis here! We need to deal with this-!"

"On it!"

Margo and Antonio suddenly teleported in front of them. "The others are on their way!" Antonio said.

"No time to wait! M, get us on that ship now!" Violet ordered.

Margo nodded and held her hand out. The others quickly placed theirs on top of hers, and in an instant they were teleported into the energy dome. They turned towards the ship. "We need to find that bomb and shut it down! But remember, Cypher is still on that thing, so watch your backs!" They all nodded before running onto the ship.

Inside, Cypher sat at the cockpit and locked in the countdown. It was no wonder his son had been driven insane. Anyone would be dealing with these stubborn earthlings. Why couldn't they just accept their fate like every other species had?

Suddenly, a loud crash was heard. He got up and turned to see the door being torn down. Margo flung her hands back and sent it flying before floating in. "Get to that control panel, now!" Violet ordered. They all rushed at the Cypher who stood up and cracked his neck.

This fight was over, the city was doomed. But he could still spend his last few moments getting some enjoyment from their deaths. Antonio slide under him and threw two knives. They bounced off his skin and Cypher turned to stomp on him, only to be pulled back by Margo.

Two vines wrapped around his legs and pulled them from under him. Ted created a tornado underneath him and sent him flying out of the cockpit. "Get working on deactivating that bomb! We'll hold him off!" Violet yelled towards Wilbur. He nodded and flew forward with his rocket boots as the others ran back into the cargo bay to stall Cypher.

He landed beside Antonio and the two quickly began typing away at the controls. "C'mon! C'mon!" Wilbur said. He wasn't too familiar with alien tech, but he could feel his way around well enough. "Crap! He locked in the countdown! We can't stop it!"

"Then just send the ship out of here then!"

"He disabled auto pilot!"

Antonio growled. "He really is planning on dying, and taking us with him! This guy is loco!" He shouted before running a hand through his hair. Wilbur tried to think of something. Anything. He couldn't let it end here, not like this! They had come so close! They couldn't lose now! He struggled to come up with something. His friends, the city, they were counting on him.

Antonio sighed. "Well, it's been a fun ride hermano."

Wilbur looked at him in disbelief. Was he actually giving up? "It's not the end of it! Not yet!"

"Not for you." Antonio said puzzling him even further. "Tell Margo I said I was sorry." Before Wilbur could even ask what he was talking about, Antonio turned and kicked him back. Wilbur landed on the ground with a grunt, and Antonio flicked one of his knives at his boots. It scraped the thruster and sent him flying out of the cockpit.

Antonio quickly turned around back to the control panel and locked the door. He steeled himself. This was the only way, and he knew if he'd brought it up his friends wouldn't have wanted to leave him. But he wasn't about to risk their lives, not again.

"Adios…"

Wilbur landed outside the cockpit and the door slammed behind him. "Cuchilla?! Cuchilla?!" He got up and banged on the door. "Antonio! What do you think you're doing?!"

He heard a crash and then turned to see the others, still fighting with Cypher. "Pathetic little fools! You're fate is sealed! There is nothing you can-!" Cypher nearly fell off of his feet as they all felt the ship being taken into the air. "What?!"

Wilbur turned back towards the cockpit. "Antonio?! What are you up too! Open the door!" Was he planning on flying this ship out of the cities range? If so, why had he locked Wilbur out?

The ship started ascending and suddenly the cargo door opened up. "What the-?!" Wilbur barely had time to react as he went flying out of the door. The others were also sent flying out, but thankfully Penny and Audrey managed to catch Violet and Dash. "What's he doing?!" Dash yelled.

Wilbur turned on his rocket boots, one of which was going in and out on him, and glared. "That idiot… he's trying to sacrifice himself!" Wilbur shouted. The others grew wide eyed, and Margo gasped. He started flying after the ship, but it was moving too fast. "Margo! Teleport onto the ship!"

Margo, who had already been trying, growled. "It's moving too fast! I can't get a lock on it!"

Wilbur balled his fist up.

Antonio sat on the ship and breathed a sigh of relief. The others had seemed to have fallen off. It was just him left. He stared forward as the ship started to exit the earth atmosphere. This thing could really move couldn't it? He would have liked to have a ship like this of his own to fly. Well, at least he was getting to now.

This was… strange. He knew he was done for. This ship was moving way too fast for Margo to get a decent lock on it, so she wouldn't come swooping in to save him. Anna wouldn't be able to catch up in time either. Tough as she was, she still needed air, and they were too high up for even her to breath.

But even though he knew this was the end, he felt… calm. Content. Maybe it was because he knew the others were safe. He supposed he didn't mind dying if it was to protect them.

"You idiot! Turn the ship around!"

His eyes widened as he heard Wilbur's voice in his head. That's right, he still had Margo's mental link up. "No way Hermano. This thing is going to blow and-"

"Who cares?! We'll find another way!" Margo's voice shouted.

Before he could respond, more voices flooded his head. "You can't do this Antonio!" Violet begged.

"There has to be something else we can do!" Audrey reasoned.

"C'mon man, come back! Y-you can't die! Not like this!" Ted said.

"Antonio, at least slow down so Margo can get to you!" Dash reasoned.

"No good. This thing is counting down fast. If I slow down any the city could still be-"

"Idiot! What the heck are you doing?! Who's going to look after my sister when I'm not around?!" Edith shouted. Antonio looked surprised. Had she linked him with everyone?

"Damn it Perez! Get back here!" Eep shouted.

"Dude! Come back! Please!" Thunk pleaded.

"Antonio! Don't do this!" Penny cried.

"J-Jump out or something! I'll catch you!" Anna said.

"Anotnio, come back man! We'll figure this out!" Kristoff said.

Antonio gripped the steering device. Why did they have to do this? Why did they all have to contact him and beg him to stay? He was at peace with this up until a few seconds ago, and now… He sniffled and wiped the tears from his eyes. They all continued crying out, begging him to turn the ship around, trying to find some way that he knew just wouldn't work.

"Everyone…" The voices all stopped at once. "I'm sorry, I really am a hypocrite. Telling Wilbur how he wasn't allowed to go and sacrifice himself, and then pulling something like this. But… I can't come back, you know that." He thought, finality in his voice. "There isn't any way to come back without this thing blowing us all up, and I'm not letting that happen."

"You guys… thanks so much for being my friends." He said. "I never did anything to deserve any of it, but… thanks for loving me." Antonio said smiling, thinking back on every memory he'd ever had with the team. "Take care of each other guys."

Antonio suddenly heard a noise behind him. He looked over his shoulder and saw Cypher entering the cockpit. Somehow the behemoth had managed to stay on the ship. "You! You impudent little…!" His eyes were red with rage. "I'm going to make your demise so painful that death will be a sweet release. Do you have any last words, human?"

Antonio stood up from the pilot's seat and smirked. "Familia…"

A sudden flash of light, followed by a loud thundering explosion went off. The others watched from the ground as the explosion covered a good portion of the sky. They all stood in silence as they watched the explosion die down into nothing.

Everyone stood, stunned. What had just happened? Had their friend really just… did Antonio just die? He couldn't have…

Margo was the first to react. She fell to her knees and let out a loud wail. The objects around her began being pushed away and twisting. Audrey quickly ran over and hugged her.

Edith gritted her teeth, and failed miserably to hold back her tears. "Y-you idiot! I can't believe you just…! How could you! You selfish jerk! Leaving us like… GAH!" She punched the ground angrily.

Ted gripped his head. "N-No way. That couldn't have just happened… he's gonna show up right? He's gonna show up at the last seconds and…" He began shaking. "He's… he's gone." He said tearing up. Thunk sniffled and wiped his face with his arm, while Penny kneeled down and patted bolt, who was whining sadly.

Dash kept looking up to the sky. It had happened. It had finally happened. His parents always told him the dangers of being a superhero. Risking your life, losing friends, family. But it hadn't happened before, and somewhere along the line he'd convinced himself that it wouldn't. He squeezed his eyes shut.

"AAAAHHHHH!" Eep screamed into the air, a mix of anger and grief.

Violet covered her face with her hands and began crying. This… this was her fault. She was the leader of the team. She should have… done something!

Wilbur ran his hands through his hair. Why? Why had he done this?! Why didn't he let him do it instead! He was going to disappear anyway! So why?! "Damn it! Damn it! God damn it!" He shouted falling to his knees. "WHY?!" He knew it! He knew this was going to happen, he knew it!

"Wilbur…" He looked over at Violet, who was staring at him in shock. He glanced down and then saw his hands was starting to vanish. He grew wide eyed. He glanced over at his mother who was also starting to vanish. "No… No! Wilbur, you can't!"

The raven haired boy looked towards her, a sad look on his face. Really? Now of all times? It wasn't bad enough that he'd cost them Antonio, now he was going to hurt them even further by disappearing himself. "I… don't really have much of a choice." He said. The others all finally took notice and turned towards him. "Sorry guys…"

They all gasped and quickly made their way towards him. "No! No! No!" Dash said. "Crap, now of all times! Are you kidding me?!"

"Please! You have to try and fight it! To stay!" Margo begged. "We already lost Antonio! We can't lose you two too! Please, fight it!"

Franny shook her head. "We can't." She said. "We're sorry, but we have to go. We knew that changing the timeline would result in this. This means that we've altered it enough that our future doesn't exist. You should all be proud. You've saved the earth. And it's been an honor serving with you." She said growing teary eyed.

Violet grabbed Wilbur. "Wilbur! Please, you can't go! Not yet! Just a little longer, please?!"

Wilbur looked down. "I'm sorry." He said. "You were right. I was being so stupid. I should have just made the best of the time I had here. I should have… I'm so sorry Violet. I'm sorry to everyone. I… I caused you so much pain. I lost Antonio and-"

"Don't you say that!" Margo shouted, still crying. "H-he sacrificed himself to save you! You were his best friend! His brother! He…"

Wilbur looked towards her, his heart clenching. "I know…" He said looking down. "But I can't stay… everyone, please just take care of each other. Whatever future I'm going to, I know it'll be the one you guys brought. I can't thank you enough. So please, be safe…" He said hugging Violet. She hugged him back, as hard as she could.

Franny disappeared first, smiling sadly as she did so. Their future was safe, for now at least. The mission was complete. Violet kept holding onto Wilbur hoping and praying that if she hung on hard enough he'd stay. "Goodbye Violet. Remember, keep moving forward…"

Her arms suddenly dropped, and she opened her eyes and saw… nothing. They were gone, the both of them. She stood there, staring at the spot he'd been in. Wilbur was gone. Franny and Antonio, all gone. Violet brought her head back and wailed out. Margo covered her face and sobbed, and the others quickly tried to comfort them.

Not that they were doing much better. There wasn't a dry eye among them…

A/N: I had a hard time writing this for a number of reasons. For one, I don't think I've ever written anything this... sad before. I've certainly never killed off a character before. It was really hard. I hope I did a good job conveying the grief of the situation. some feedback would be very much appreciated.

And, it had to happen at some point. Wilbur and Franny are gone, and so is Mina. I had wanted to write a long drawn out goodbye for Wilbur, but I thought I got enough of that through Antonio.

There's going to be one more chapter to put out. It'll probably be out quicker than the others. So expect it soon! I hope you guys... enjoyed the chapter? Feels weird saying that after what happened... I'm sad...
